This is my go to Vet for check ups and annuals especially nail trimmings. You can get your pet taken care of at more affordable prices then most places. Elvin is amazing he’s been doing this for a long time he’s sweet and he really cares. Yolanda is so sweet and compassionate she makes you feel very welcomed like family. These two really make this place special. 5 out of 5.

This place is disgusting and dirty my dog got a nasty nail infection and it’s definitely because they didn’t sanitize their tools properly. I’ve only brought her here twice and my poor dogs paw is so infected and they had the audacity to say they will fully charge me for the fees for an office visit and anything else she may be prescribed and also for testing what a joke and a rip off from this dirty place.

Ive been coming for the past decade for all three of my Dachshunds, The whole team at Urban Vets from Young & Yolanda to Elvin and Dr.Cohen have always been great and attentive. Their boarding is also great as well. I highly recommend them!

***update****I didn’t realize you are a liar too.I glared??? You didn’t know how to manage my anger towards you?? Why in the world would I be angry at you? I was grief stricken. The fact that you couldn’t differentiate grief from anger, makes me question your emotional intelligence. Your tech had his hands around my dog’s throat. I told him I will manage him. That was the last thing I wanted my dog to remember on his way out. I told him I will hold him because I felt his handling was excessive.We ended up using veterinary emergency instead. I told them my dog is in pain and nipped my husband while he was being picked earlier. Just as I mentioned to your tech. I asked them just like I asked your tech if I could hold him during the procedure. I didn’t want him to be scared. They said YES. They didn’t ask me to put a distressed senior dog on a cold metal table with no padding while suggesting to muzzle him and choke him with big burly hands. This is what your tech suggested under your supervision. Instead, he was in my lap through out the process. Every single person involved showed tremendous empathy, compassion, and patience. You showed none.You want to twist your story to present yourself in a better light, do so. When it came to the examination, the man who calls himself a vet / Cohen looked scared. His back was pressed against the wall. He didn’t make any eye contact. He didn’t say a word. There was no warmth or compassion. He would motion to his tech as if we were invisible. Instead, he had a nasty look on his face as if we were inconveniencing him. It’s quite clear that he is absolutely in the wrong profession.When the tech asked us to wait, we decided to leave. Paid $107 for a 2 minutes of non verbal interaction. What an absolute dishonor to the profession.

I first came with my dog, Cecilia, for help with incontinence. She was better, but still having problems so they suggested testing for something I thought couldnt be the problem. They were right & got her meds to clear that up too. I like that theyre friendly & efficient; genuinely nice people & I havent felt like I was waiting around forever. I also really appreciate that theyre very up-front on pricing/payment & will have a detailed estimate for you prior to treatment. Cecilia is almost 15 yrs old now & were still going to Urban Vets. I pick up medicine there every month & the staff are wonderful. Im relieved weve got a friendly, knowledgeable, neighborhood vet for Cecilia.

I was given a kitten found in a parking garage. I am not a cat person, but my daughter fell in love with her. We didnt known anything about cats let alone kittens. Urban pets Animal Hospital staff was so informative and super sweet. I was told it was a girl and was 5 weeks old. They informed me about pet insurance and how to care for her. I am forever grateful to them and my new addition to the family.

Without hesitation I would recommend any pet owner to urban vets on 10th st & ave C. I was immediately impressed with the staff and service we received upon arrival. The care to details and professionalism was very comforting. My dog Mila was sick with what I thought was seizures but after the aggressive care and immediate test results revealed that Mila has a heart murmur. They even have the prescriptions at their facility which what’s it super convenient. Mila is back to being a loving playful dog again because of urban vets. With all my heart, thank you urban vets!

10/10 Can not recommend Urban Vets enough! Moving here from South Florida and growing up with 3 dogs, I know the importance of finding a great Vet and especially in NYC the importance of not getting ripped off w/ prices. I chose Urban Vets because of my research and google reviews of other vets in the area, and it was the best choice I ever made when I became a Dog (puppy mom) to my french bulldog Hamilton in June 2019. Dr.Cohen, Elvin, and Stephanie truly go above and beyond any vet office I have been with. Dr.Cohen is super knowledgeable and realistic (when it comes to me freaking out and going on Pet Md) and gives great advice and wont just tell you to do something with your pet so he can profit, he truly cares about his patients and their parents concerns. Elvin, is a one of a kind associate who is very well informed and more importantly loves on my dog in the same obsessed way all dog parents do and exceeds all expectations with the millions of questions I ask. Stephanie- is the reason I became so impressed with the whole Urban Vets office. After my Hamiltons first visit, I received a follow-up call from her for no other reason other then they wanted to check in and make sure he was doing good and we were happy with everything! (THIS HAPPENS EVERYTIME WE GO FOR ANY VISIT BTW, even if its just a check up.) The amount of care and heart they have for their patients is incomparable to any other vet experience that myself or even my parents have had. The whole team is awesome and super flexible with being able to move an existing appointment within the same week or even day- as my NYC work schedule can become a bit crazy. Its nice to know they can accommodate seeing your dog last minute and moving appointments. I could go on and on and on, but do yourself a favor and more importantly do your pet a favor and go to Urban Vets for all and any vet needs! I trust them with my little Hams life in every aspect (even the loving attention they give him) and they are fair in pricing. Overall 10/10 respectable, clean, smart, and honest vet! We

I cant say enough good things... everyone there is kind, patient and considerate (despite the fact that my dog is a biter). They have helped keep our baby healthy, the prices are reasonable, the receipt is always itemized so you know what for and how much youre paying. When ever Ive called with an emergency they have always seen him. We board him there when we go away and always come back to a happy boy. I mean he actually likes going there, he will bark at the door if they dont buzz us in fast enough, what more can you ask for.

Everyone was so courteous and helpful. I took my cat to Urban Vets over the weekend because my cat had a very swollen lip. I was explained in great detail what the possible issues were and what our next steps would be in determining the cause and resolving her problem . She was treated, following bloodwork, and a couple days later she was back to normal! I want to thank the entire staff for helping my little Willow. You guys are a great team.

My experience with urban vet was ok, especially the young guy whos their vet assistant (if Im not mistaken) I apologize because I am horrible with remembering names. he was actually really nice with my pup. macie did well with him. but when I took her to get her last round of shots, the short bald guy didnt let me go in, even though I had my mask. he said Ill be back.he was in & out and gave me my fur baby back.I wish he would had let me go in like I did before to be with my fur baby to support her.its definitely pricey but these shots were necessary to protect my baby.UPDATE::::once again they made my baby feel safe & welcomed. they took care of her with everything she needed & Im happy.

Urban Vets is a fantastic place. You will feel at ease taking your pets for their checkups. They are great with your pets. They will make your babies feel better about going to the doctor.

I’ve been bringing my 4 year old dog to Urban Vets for the past 3 years. There has never been a visit where my dog ever felt uncomfortable. In fact, he enjoys walking by knowing that he’ll always receive pets and maybe a treat. Fees are are decently priced compared to other vets and hospitals in the city. What makes there office my go-to is the staff being all local so they get to know your pet (and yourself) on a first name basis. Dr. Cohen is beyond exceptional in his field and Elvin is absolutely amazing with recommendation on care. Never has he steered me wrong. The front desk staff are absolutely amazing and friendly. Stephanie treats my dog as if it were her own. She has a knack for making you feel at ease after each visit and will ALWAYS explain pricing and follow-up if you don’t understand. Yolanda is so caring with her calls after visits ensuring my dog is doing well. Very motherly and sincere. Urban Vets really is a true neighborhood establishment that care more about you and your pet more than a dollar sign. In this economy and with other places attempting to take every penny you own, it’ll be tough to find a better provider for my dog.

Our experience with Urban Vets Animal Hospital was absolutely superb! We were treated with kindness and professionalism by Dr. Howard and all the staff we interacted with. We also have to mention Ms. Young Kim who went above and beyond to ensure our little rabbit would comply with all the necessary requirements to be allowed to travel with us out of the country. We 100% recommend this vet!

I cant say enough good things about Urban Vets. From the moment I called and came in for my first appointment with my 11 week old puppy, I was truly amazed by the staff. They are all so loving and friendly, especially Elvin. You can tell that they are all animal lovers and do whats best for your pets. I am very picky about the care my puppy receives, but I wholeheartedly trust Dr. Cohen and Elvin. Ive owned dogs for over 30 years, and I can say that I have two favorite vets: Dr Chad Hall in Tampa and Dr. Howard Cohen in NYC. We are very blessed to have found such a wonderful place to care for our puppy.

The receptionist? office manager? Yolanda (sp?), is really nice. Other than her, UVAH is not recommended. The vet tech is awkward and will hurt your pet; the vet is not a people person. But the WORST is...I called to ask about euthanasia, and the person who answered the phone saidwe prefer you to do most of your grieving at home.Pro-tip: If you have to euthanize an animal, the staff at VEG in Williamsburg are incredibly kind.

This is the best place my dog has ever been to. He was welcomed by Stephanie for his initial check up and her warmth and care won him completely. My dog, Jules, is a rescue, (11-12 years old) was twice abandoned, abused, who doesnt trust easily people he doesnt know. He felt very comfortable right away thanks to Stephanie. He came back a week later for his dental cleaning and we met Dr. Cohen and Elvin, again they took excellent care of him. Stephanie and Elvin were so loving to Jules, I had never seen this before. The work was excellent, very professional, attentive to every details. They contacted me several times during the day and my dog has been feeling happy and healthy since he came back home. Thank you to all of you, you are the best.

On 3/14/23 my poodle was attack by a Pitbull. I had blood all over my hands, clothes and my jacket. I was quick to pick up my dog when I saw the dog charging at him. unfortunately, he was able to get a hold of his back side. We immediately took him to Urban Vets and the staff immediately took him in and checked him over. He had to have surgery. I was so emotional, the staff was empathic, went over his injuries with me and stated what needed to be done and gave me hope that it should all turn out ok. He had surgery, was seen a couple of times and I am glad to say that today 3/20/23 was his last visit. I am truly grateful for the entire staff and Dr. Cohen.

BOTCHED SPAY!!! I wish I could give 0 stars. I should have wrote a review sooner so others don’t experience what my dog had to go through. This is my first review of a business.I took my dog in June 2021 for a normal spay procedure. I went and picked her up after and noticed when I got home that her incision was starting to open at the bottom. Red flag #1. I had to take her back in and they ended up using staples on her.Fast forward to September 2021, I just moved to a new city across the country and my dog starts to go through heat. Lethargic, bleeding, etc. I take her in to an emergency facility in my new city and they gave her an ultrasound and found A FULL OVARY! Not ovarian remnants, but the full. ovary.I call Urban Vets, they refused to cooperate. I had to call dozens of times before they finally refunded me for the services they provided. They would not compensate me for the $1000 vet visit where they found her ovary. I let it go.A few months later, I take her in to a specialist to get RE SPAYED a second time. 3 different vets from different offices recommended I take her to a specialist for the procedure because it is not an ordinary spay. Again, Urban Vets refused to talk to me, said they have no liability, I was not allowed to talk to the doctor, they started ignoring my calls. I just wanted to be compensated for the second surgery my poor dog had to get because they botched the first.As expected, the specialist found my dog still had a full ovary and part of her uterus. I understand mistakes happen, but to fully deny any wrongdoing is completely unethical. $5000 later my dog is doing fine, but what a nightmare experience and so much money down the drain.They clearly do not care about the well-being of your animal and do not have experience to be performing spays. Horrible horrible vets office they should be shut down.

EDIT: Wrote this review a year ago and i still stand by every word!Love this team! Dr. Cohen and Elvin are amazing. When I first rescued it was hard to find a vet in NYC that was fair priced and convenient- they are both. I went to other vets at first and didn’t feel comfortable as a first time owner, but these guys are so kind and helpful telling me everything I need to know! They make sure my dog is healthy and happy and I couldn’t trust them more. I hope this review helps someone like other reviews helped me! Highly recommend.

The team at Urban Vets truly is amazing - they treat your pets as if they’re their own & my dog even looks forward to going once he realizes where we are! They take amazing care of my dog & I have recommended them to many people. As long as I live in NYC I will always go here. It has the feel of a neighborhood spot (because it is) versus somewhere that feels unwelcoming and intimidating. Highly, highly recommend.

2022 update:We moved upstate spring 2021 and REALLY miss this vet. Compared to our options upstate, this office is so responsive, gives my dog great attention, and always makes me feel like they truly care about Dougie. Ive also seen just how skilled they are handling dogs. Dougie is afraid of the vet up here to the point he needs medication, but this office was always able to manage Dougies anxiety to keep it as low as possible. Hes critically ill and hospitalized upstate but they are willing to review his records and make recommendations on specialists/ongoing care despite us being gone for several months. They truly go above and beyond and I feel lucky to have chosen them as our vet nearly four years ago.This place has been in the neighborhood for as long as I can remember, and I grew up in the neighborhood for 20 years. When I got my own dog, I was unsure of where to go that could understand that my deaf pitbull is not dangerous and could treat him with empathy. I didnt want to go somewhere that would overcharge or take advantage of me either.After I chose Urban Vets to try out, I had made an appointment and needed to change it really last minute and they were extremely accommodating. Then when I came for the appointment the receptionist was extremely loving and attentive to my dog, who was admittedly a little nervous. The vet tech was very gentle with my dog, whos deaf and has a history of reactivity towards men. He even took the time to go through his medical records with me and explain what the different procedures meant and why he was recommending the services he was.The vet was very gentle with my dog as well, my dog didnt even flinch when being given a shot! They let me stand in the room with them to soothe him and appeared very confident and knowledgeable.The next day the receptionist gave me a call to see how my dog was doing since he got the shot, and she genuinely sounded happy to hear that he was doing well. Having taken my dog to the vet upstate, I thought the prices were extremely reasonable. Im very satisfied having a team of professionals at Urban Vets that seem to really care about helping me keep my dog healthy :)

Ive been going to Urban Vets for 4 years. They were so incredibly kind and understanding when I had to make the decision to let my cat Panda cross the Rainbow Bridge that Im bringing my 2 newest fur babies back to Urban Vets for their care. You can tell that everyone there really loves animals and their follow up is so appreciated! I received a phone call from them the day after my recent visit to see if everything was ok. Absolutely one of the finest veterinary hospitals Ive ever worked with. 5 stars!

I bring both my dogs to urban vets. All the staff is extremely warm and friendly. Dr. Cohen and his staff are extremely compassionate, especially his assistant Elvin. My puppy got his first round of shots and Elvinreached out the next day to make sure he was doing okay. I highly recommend the practice.

My boyfriend and I started taking our kitten, Fez, to Urban Vets Animal Hospital. After trying various vets and being disappointed by all of them coming to Urban Vets left us feeling so content! They were so professional and loving, I could tell that they genuinely tried to make fez feel comfortable. After taking her to get her vaccinations I called back to ask about a cut she had and they told me what to do and tried to help as much as possible with out asking me to come in and charge me for a check up. They care about the pets more than the money which is hard to come by!

Dr. Cohen, Elvin, and Stephanie are terrific. We make sure Dr. Cohen is available when we make appointments. We had a few not so great vet experiences with our first rescue pup before we thankfully found Dr. Cohen and we have been been trusting our dogs in his care for years. We are thankful for the expert assessments, understanding, and warmth of the staff, highly recommend.

Everyone here is so sweet and helpful! My dog has some behavior issues and gets very anxious when going to the vet. They are always super understanding and try their absolute best to make him feel more comfortable. They are also extremely patient with us and will always take the time to answer all my questions. Highly recommend!!

First time taking my dog Lester here and let me tell you we could not be happier with the results. Receptionist was really sweet generous and formative she kept us in the loop the whole time we were there. They were able to help me handle my bill I said of just expecting me to pay it upfront pretty much they are very understanding and flexible with whatever youre going through. Definitely recommend this vet if youre in the lower east side.

Over the past 8 years I have gone to at least 6 vets for my cat and can honestly say that my experience at Urban Vets has been the absolute best. The staff is truely special, especially Elvin. Their compassion shows in their interactions with both pets and owners and they always go above and beyond to help in anyway they can. Im so grateful to have found them!

We have been bringing Milo (Yorkie) to Urban Vets since he was born 9 years ago. While Milo is generally a healthy dog, he does unfortunately suffer from seizures. Because of his seizures, we recently went through a very big scare when Milo went into a coma. The Urban Vets staff was very caring way beyond their duty. They were understanding of how nervous we were and allowed us to spend time with Milo as much as possible. The staff at Urban Vets have always taken great care of Milo in helping us manage his seizures. Best of all, we can count on them when we need them— they are always responsive and provide a reliable contact for emergencies outside of their business hours. They are also very responsive when we need his medication refills. Milo travels with us on vacation outside of the country every year and we can count on them to help us prepare him for travels. They are always personable and we don’t feel like Milo is just another pet patient. We honestly do not know what we would do without the confidence of having such professionals there for us when we need them. Thank you wholeheartedly, Urban Vets.

We took our cat to urban vets at the start of October 2018 and they were the sweetest people ever. Reasonably priced for an NYC vet. Sadly we had to put her to sleep yesterday and Elvin, Dr Cohen and Yolanda were amazing, they comforted us and made it all a bit easier. If you are looking for a practice that has heart and cares this is the one for you.

The kind of vet that takes advantage of their clients by over charging. they quoted me $2500 to remove lumps for my pup - i went to another vet in west village that quoted me $1000 less. wouldn’t come back here. gave them one additional star because one of the nurses is very nice but the vet himself…. not so much. i didn’t get the impression that he cares at all.

I feel very fortunate to have landed in the vicinity of Urban Vets and I will happily continue to take my big housecat there forever! Every single person we interact with is incredibly courteous, professional, and knowledgeable. My cat can be a handful, literally and figuratively, but they treat him with so much kindness and care, it really does mean a lot to me! Happy to recommend them enthusiastically and also discuss it further with anyone who needs a person anecdote!

Urban Vets deserves the full 5 stars! They took amazing care of my cat when he was found with urinary stones. They immediately scheduled him and gave him a home for the three days he was there. Elvin, Dr. Cohen, Yolanda, and Stephanie made sure I was in the loop and did what they could to make me feel comfortable. Their compassion they all had towards my furry pal made my heart full.

The service and care at Urban Vets animal hospital is always wonderful. Dr. Cohen, Elvin, and Stephanie are kind and patient not only with their animal clients, but with their people parents too! They always take time to answer any questions (even more than once) and their responses are clear and helpful. Were very grateful to have them in our neighborhood!

The care and love offered in this small veterinary hospital, in the heart of Alphabet City, is evident the moment one steps in. Dr. Cohen, Elvin, Stephanie and the rest of this amazing staff make you and your pet feel as part of an extended family. Your pet is their pet and their compassion, empathy and attention to every little detail are hard to match. Ive been placing my cats care in Urban Vets Hospital for almost 10 years now and I wouldnt change their service and big hearts for anything else.

My cat was in crisis and needed to see a vet. First thing Monday morning they contacted me and I was able to come in immediately. They took care of my cat. And my cat is now home and I am so happy. BEST VET IN NYC! Hands down the literal best group of people to care for your animal in the whole of nyc. I have been bringing my French bulldog Milo here since day one and Elvin, Dr Cohen and whole team have been a dream. Honestly I cannot thank these people enough. Through a sassy dog that needs his nails cut, boarding over the weekend, puppy shots and neutering, Urban Vets is the best!!!! Youre silly to not bring your loved pup here!(Also Stephanie at the front desk is the best and so so so warm --- need I go on for reasons to bring your animal here?!)

After becoming dissatisfied with another veterinary practice in the neighborhood, i decided to try urban vets.i have two german shepherd dogs, and these folks have thus far been excellent in treating them. appointments are easy to get, the receptionist is very friendly and helpful, and the wait time is never long.on our latest visit, i was particularly impressed with how comfortable all of the staff (receptionist, vet tech, and vet) were with eva, my younger dog. she is a high energy seventy four pound german shepherd, and i am accustomed to her making people nervous. these people had no problem with her, and their easy, calm energy brought out her best behavior.we had the issue we came for addressed, and they provided the medication she needed the next day (after her bloodwork was done). i want to especially mention the vet tech, whose name i think is ervin. he is really good with my dogs, even the jumpy younger one, and manages them during procedures in a way that keeps them calm.this is a good place.

Got a new puppy during this horrible Covid crisis and looked online for an affordable Vet to maintain her health, vaccines etc! We are all challenged financially at this time and at first I was trying to get an appt at the Humane Society which was a dead end! They never answered or reply to emails! I’m sure they are as overwhelmed as we are! So I contacted many vets within walking distance to my home in Kips Bay Manhattan! After speaking to quite a few and doing my pricing research and reading reviews, I was blessed by God to find Urban Veterinary Animal Hospital on the Lower East Side! So amazing and kind service and very informative as well as affordable pricing! Dr. Cohen was so sweet and knowledgeable as well as staff! Stephanie and Yolanda were so kind and professional and took the time to listen to me talk a lot as I had many questions and let’s face it a bit lonely during these times! I was able to walk over and the Dr triaged my pup at the door took her in and was fast service which was great as no one wants to be outdoors long at this time! They called me the following day to check up on my furbaby as she had a couple vaccines and microchip placed and a fecal exam being she’s a baby! So they also called promptly with the results! I highly recommend all furbaby parents to them if you truly love your pet and want the utmost care! I even had the pleasure of speaking to another pet owner outside while waiting that had been bringing her doggie there for years and she couldn’t praise them enough! Thank you to all the staff at Urban and I will be trusting you with my Frenchie Zsa Zsa from 1st visit till last and know that you will be wonderful with keeping her healthy extending her life span for more years than is expected of her breed! Lexi was at Urban Vets for the first time for her annual shots and check up. She had been nervous and crying on the way there. Once she was out of her carrier, handled by the vet and his assistant, she was calm, she let them do everything they needed to do peacefully. I had never seen her as calm and as well behaved in a new place, let alone at a vet! I was tearing up of joy. Were definitely going again and I highly recommend Urban Vets.

I would definitely recommend Urban Vets. We calme here bc of an emergency and they were able to set up an appointment the same day. We felt welcomed and cared for, they asked a bunch of questions and the receptionist Stephanie was extremely sweet. Elvin and Dr Cohen definitely made our pup feel calm as she suffers with anxiety issues.

Urban Vets is the best place in the city!! The attentive care starts the minute you call the office. Their love of animals is so obvious, that my dog gets excited to see each and every staff member. I don’t live in the neighborhood, but I make the trip downtown because I’m confident that my dog will receive the best care.

Took my cat Paris for annual physical. From the first phone call to make the appointment to the phone call next day to check on Paris they were kind and responsive to my questions. I am bringing my other cat, who needs to be sedated, on Saturday. I have had animals of one kind or another all my life and this is my favorite place. Because of Covid they take your pet at the door. There are a few spots to go wait in the neighborhood or ask for a chair and you can wait right outside. There is a bus stop around the corner with seating too. Great experience. They are reasonable and honest.

Ive been bringing my dogs Poe and P.J to Urban Vets for the last 13 years and been extremely happy with the veterinary care my boys have received. Dr. Cohen has been their primary vet the entire time. I feel that their rates are very reasonable, especially for the care provided. Unfortunately Poe passed away earlier this year of lung cancer. We will continue to bring our boy PJ in for his normal checkups.. Every one from the technician Elvin to the receptionist Yolanda have always been helpful and caring to my dogs. After having the worst experience with Low Cost Vet Mobile (avoid them like the plague) 2 weeks ago, my two Shih Tzus still needing medical attention & care, I found Urban Vets Animal Hospital, a wonderful, affordable & genuinely pet loving vet in the neighborhood. From the time that I first called to make the appointment with Stephanie, my arrival to the office & triage by a very knowledgeable, savvy yet kind Elvin, and actual medical treatment by a very gentle & caring Dr.Cohen, I was warmly satisfied by all communications & interactions with all staff and so were my fur babies, Bo & Harley. This vet is very inexperienced and unhelpful. I came here because my cat was making frequent visits to the litter box and I knew something was wrong. $400 dollars later they have no solution for what is happening. All they tell me is that she is stressed! I went to another vet. They told me the pH of her urine was off because wasn’t getting enough water. Do not waste your time at this vet!

Ive been bring my dog s here for the last 10 yrs. They are the best in every professional way. They are very caring for my pets even give you a call to make sure you dog is ok after a shot or treatment that they got. They try their best to squeeze you in even when they book up for the day.

Brought my cat here for the first time because she wasnt eating or feeling well. They didnt give me a single idea what would be making her feel bad. When they took her back to do blood work they brought her back covered in blood, I immediately asked about it and the tech kinda laughed and said she must have high blood pressure and took her back to be cleaned up. They didnt mention anything about high blood pressure or anything about making her feel better. Wont be going back.

Our dog has non-contagious mange, a skin disease which causes him to lose his hair. After years of going to another vet and paying expensive treatments and medication that had no results, we went to Urban Vets: Dr. Cohen was able to fix the problem in just a few months! Out dog now has a beautiful shiny coat, something we never thought would happen.Dr. Cohen and his staff are really nice and clearly love and care for the animals.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Cohen for years with all my fur babies. The whole staff is so wonderful and caring. They go above and beyond to care for your pets needs. They’ve always calmed my nerves and got my pet right in when they needed medical care. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

It was my first visit to the Vet Animal Hospital.. When I contacted the Urban Vets Hospital, Stephanie was the one I spoke with. Stephanie was very helpful in assisting me regarding Benny. Very professional and full of empathy even though it was the first time we encountered meeting on the telephone and in person. Because of my cats situation, I am mostly into getting Benny well from his situation, and I am worried if I do not seem as if I am responding well. I spoke with the doctor whom was very casuall, I am still learning how the Urbam Vets Hospital operates, and I also explainedy my feelings for Benn.in addition, I spoke with another female individual of whom answered my questions, and listened to me; whom I do not remember her name at this time. I cannot make a sound statement at this point. I was happy to be able to bring Benny to the Vets Animal Hospital in our neighborhood and did not have to travel far as we had been doing. I believe I will be able to give a better evaluation if my pet is feeling better. Overall everyone has welcome Benny and I with open arms. We would love to return to Urbans Vet if we knew how Benny can be treated because of his condition. And explained throughly. Benny is an older cat and is subjected to danger if certain procedures are performed. We look forward to you contacting us and advising if anything can be done for Bennys condition.

These vets are the worst. It took 5 days to get a test result they said should take 1-2 days. Overall my cats were sick for 2 1/2 weeks under their care before they got the medicine they needed and I had to call multiple times and they didn’t know the results had been there the whole time. They just didn’t know how to read them. Super frustrating and charges so much. Very expensive.

Dr. Cohen, Elvin, Yolanda and the rest of the staff at Urban have been helping the pets at our housing sites for over 10 years. Besides giving loving and caring attention to the pets, they have always treated the tenants with respect and I appreciate their professionalism.

Urban Vets truly cares about the animals that visit them. I am a new cat owner and when my cat got sick they scheduled me an appointment right away and settled my nerves. They gave me tips for the future and were overall very accommodating.

They are reasonable, capable and very friendly. I do not mind going there at all. I went there with my sweet cat who was having respiratory issues and discharges and they treated her for that and I was charged for that. She was also able to return for a follow up for no charge. Other places are just ridiculous with the overcharging. I am very happy I found this place.

My dog has been in and out of the vet, the most recent due to an infection in his tail that caused his tail to have to be amputated. Although this is a sad situation urban vets has taken care of him so well even checking up on him throughout the week. I thank urban vets for showing the care that they have towards my dog so much.

I have never had a worse experience with a vet. They only seem interested in getting as much money from you as possible. Multiple times I was lied to about the bill. Services billed for were not provided and no call backs were received as promised. Stay far away for this vet if you value your pet.

I put my dog down (lily) amd reading how people are saying that this place is unprofessional just hurts. I dont know what kind of experience they have had but I have been here three times max and every time I went. I was treated with respect and was helped very fast. I called one time to this place they was about to close and the guy vet who helped me I still tell him thank you to this day. I put my dog down last year October 28 and when I say it was the hardest decision for me to make it was but they made me feel comfortable. The doctor and the vet guy showed feelings and it wasnt even there dog but it shows they care for all animals small or big for me this place is the best and I mean the best place I have ever been to. I have been taking my dog to Urban Vets for the last 3 years and they have been great.They are quick to accommodate a last minute appointment, send out timely reminders for his shots and are always warm and welcoming.

I have a female small dog, and when I took her here to get spayed, the incision was double in length from what I had seen on other dogs at the dog park, it was sewn messily, and when she had an allergic reaction to the thread they used to stitch her, they gave her a too small cone and she managed to lick part of the stitches out.On top of this, they were cold to both me and my pet, then charged me $300. Never would I go there again.

If I could leave NO STARS I would. This place and it’s staff have shown discrimination toward my friend! That is not acceptable and I will not let this go without addressing! Everyone deserves the same level of respect regardless of their background, where they come from, or what they look like. Yet, that does not happen here! I brought my cat here for the first time for both of us (1st time cat owner) , the vet was very kind to him and very fast (he was able to do an anual checkup, and all his shots in under 10 minutes) my cat came back very calm and almost unphased by the whole experience, which is great. He also answered all my cat questions and let me know what would be needed in the future. 👍🏼

Very unprofessional, i took my dog in cause she’s vomiting and doesn’t wanna eat and the same way i walked in feeling is the same way i walked out. They don’t make you feel like everything’s gonna be ok and are very disregarding, they took back the papers that listed prices and what they thought “was best for my dog”. Didn’t even let me take them home to think about what’s best for my dog. I will not be returning to this vet

This is the worst vet ever, they do unnecessary procedure on pets just for profit, they don’t fully disclose the outcome of a precederme and they promise that the procedure will do on your pets will work but it never does and your pet keep suffering because they are making unnecessary procedure for there own profit and at the end after 3 or5 procedure then they disclose that your pet needed surgery. Vet unprofessionals. Worst vet, wont recommend at all.

We took our two older cats to Urban vets animal hospital for two years. When it came time to euthanize one of them, they offered a package which included cremation with ash dispersal in an apple orchard for $260.00.When I asked how much it would cost for the euthanasia alone, they quoted me $260.00.I intend to file a grievance, with an ethics board.

Urban Vets is the only place I trust with my beloved kitty. I had taken her to a number of different vets over the years for a chronic cough I noticed, only to be reassured over & over again she “seemed fine”, no diagnosis & the cough prevailed. Finally I took her to Dr Cohen and he not only figured out it was chronic bronchitis but gave her meds and the cough finally vanished! Everyone who I’ve encountered that works there is incredibly caring, patient & nice. Elvin the vet tech is an angel. They most recently have given my kitty a new lease on life by accurately diagnosing her advanced heart failure & properly medicating her, she is happily curled up next to me as I write this. Dr Cohen & Elvin are so skilled and caring, checking in on how she’s doing & adjusting her meds. I can’t recommend them highly enough!

So happy I took my cat here when he was having acute vomiting one morning. Everyone here is extremely personable and thorough. I have taken him other places in the city, but none have been as clear or explicit about his needs. Elvin really took his time going through his past records that were transferred over and asking us questions while giving us vital information about our cats needs/diet, and the receptionists I spoke to on the phone and in person are the sweetest and most caring staff. They also did routine blood work, specifically a test that should have been done at his recent check-up at his last vet, but they didnt even though they took his blood and did other tests. Again, this place and the staff actually care about your pet and having all the correct up-to-date information, while other vets seemed to care more about looks/aesthetic, money (really overcharging on things) and dont give you the time of day. This place is much more reasonably affordable, and will not hit you up for unnecessary costs or overcharge, which is how we felt in the past at other locations. Thank you to everyone!
