Dog Hotel & Daycare- Grooming-Paws Gurus Harlem

I tried a couple places before finding Paws Gurus to have my 95 lbs. Great Pyrenees mix groomed, and Paws is by far the BEST! They do an incredible job every time and then when I pick him up give me details about how he did, any areas that seemed sensitive, etc. They do a great job deshedding for an incredibly high-shedding breed, they do his nails, brush his teeth and trim his coat. I always recommend them to friends at the park who ask and highly recommend to anyone, especially people with long haired breeds that are a bit more difficult to groom!

Vera and her whole team are so wonderful to my sweet Maria girl! Maria absolutely loves her days at Paws Gurus. I love having her there knowing I dont have a thing to worry about. She is so loved and comes home exhausted from playing all day!

I highly recommend Paws Gurus and their staff for boarding and day care. Weve been using their services for more than 2 years now. I think the best sign of how awesome this place is how happy and energized both of my dogs are whenever they come back from boarding and day care with Vera and their staff. Every time my dogs see Vera and other staff they cant contain their excitement. I have a shy small dachshund and a highly energetic and social black lab mix. They both seem to love it even though they have very different personality traits! The dogs are never in crates, they get to spend all of their day playing and socializing in a big open room and running around outside in their yard. This speaks volumes as to how amazing this place is for dogs.Scheduling appointments as well as pick ups with them are always easy, and Vera is very communicative and will always do everything posible to fit our schedules and needs. Our dogs Frida and Camila love it here and we do too. I highly recommend this place with no reservations.

Very pleased with how my puppy’s haircut came out! He is a little nippy and Vera did an amazing job going above and beyond to make him comfortable. We will absolutely be back!

Ive had great experiences with this place. Ive boarded my dog here for a few nights at a time when Ive had to travel and couldnt arrange a sitter. The owner, Vera, is great. She spends time with and knows all the dogs personally and has been very communicative by email when Ive had questions or needed to make special arrangements. She uploads videos of the dogs on their Instagram, so you can check in on them, which is great for peace of mind. The dogs arent in crates or caged, they get to spend all day roaming free in a big open room, and also get a chance to run around outside in their enclosed yard. In order to leave your dog there for daycare or boarding, your dog has to pass a trial first, to ensure theyre properly socialized, which also gives peace of mind that your dogs not going to get into fights when theyre there. Ive also had good experiences getting my dog groomed here (see the pictures for before and after). Highly recommend!

The Paws Gurus is by far the best dog daycare I have used in NYC, I have used many because of moving. They are extremely responsive and easy to reach. They normally have availability and have flexible hours. While my dog is there I can see videos of him playing from looking at their social media, I love this because it allows me to check in for long trips! I know when my dog comes here he is well taken care of! They are just simply the best!!!I have used their pick up service, day care, and night hotel. All of which are absolutely amazing!

My partner and I are looking for boarding for our fur baby, it’s our first time leaving him at boarding so as you can imagine we’re extremely nervous and want to make sure we do our research. We were really excited when we found paw guru, based on their website and our email exchanges it seemed ideal, and it’s a minority woman owned business… win win!! There was one google review that mentioned the facility looked “dingy” we figured we could check it out ourselves when we dropped him off for his temperament test. When my partner dropped him off this morning, he wasn’t allowed passed the front and our fur baby was taken to an unseen space in the back to “wait”, when he called me and told me I was extremely confused as I thought it was odd they didn’t offer a tour. I decided to call, the call was answered by the owner, Vera. I explained that my partner dropped off our pup but we would like a tour to see where he’ll be staying for the week he would be in their care. Very rudely she said they don’t offer tours, I explained it would be my first time and I don’t feel comfortable leaving him for such a long time without even knowing where he’ll be staying, her response was “so come pick up your dog”. I was genuinely taken back and thought maybe I wasn’t being clear, so I tried to explain the situation again. She went on to say that giving a tour is a liability for her, that they have a lot of customers who trust them and I can see videos online and on Instagram. This was an immediate red flag for me, my short interaction with her quickly made me realize she is not someone I would like to care after my dog. I’m still not sure how it’s a liability and with today’s technology I can’t just trust the videos THE BUSINESS chooses to post. My partner immediately picked up our dog. We weren’t provided any understanding, empathy or accommodation. You would think she would at least offer a video tour if they have nothing to hide.

My Furbaby Venice absolutely loves her time at The Paws Guru. Her groomer is attentive and gentle. Such excellent care! Shes always a little anxious before arriving, but then shes excited and tails wagging. Isnt she Pretty?

This place is excellent! They treat my puppy with love. I know that he gets groomed there with the utmost care. He also has many fun day care days. It is very clean and responsible.

Ah, where do I start? Paw Gurus has honestly been one of the best supports I’ve found since getting my pup Vel 🐕‍🦺💕 Anytime I have to travel and am unable to take her, I think of no other spot except Paw Gurus! The personalized attendance Vel (and the other dogs) while in daycare or at this hotel is so heart warming and the thoughtfulness Vera and her mom take to upload videos of your pup playing and enjoying themselves while you’re alway is so reassuring! Vera is PURRfect with my pup, and always seems so happy to be able to help out! Her flexibility, communication and crate free facility is one I’d recommend to ALL fur parents! I love it there and my dog does too! 😁🥳💫✨PS. I can’t wait for Vel’s birthday so she can have her party 🎉 at Paw-Gurus! Vera has baked doggy cakes in the shape of bones before and somehow gotten the dogs calm enough for party hats, and great pictures! 🤗

We dropped our dog Ripley off for a few days while attending a funeral and it was a great experience! They posted daily videos of the pups on social media for us to see when we seemed to miss her the most! Will definitely dropped her off there again in the future! Thanks!

Absolutely amazing place! Its hard to leave our two dogs but Vera always makes it as easy as possible; and the pups love it there! Cant recommend highly enough.

I adopted Sky last December from my best friend whopassed away unexpectedly. When my friend adoptedSky, she had already been in 3 previous homes andhad serious behavioral issues after being bouncedaround so many times. They have goneout of there way to establish a very close bond withSky. I could not have taken on this responsibility without Vera and Alba. They have made all the difference. I recommend Paws Gurus with no reservations!

Vera at the Paws Guru does an excellent job of making sure our dog looks great and is not nervous/scared of the bath and grooming. You can tell that Vera really cares about her clients & pets.

I have always been impressed by the level of care that Vera and her team at Paws Gurus has provided for my dog. She LOVES going and literally drags me to the door when I drop her off for daycare. WE LOVE PAWS GURUS! I first brought my dog, also known as Chief Chief to Paws Guru in January 2022.We live in The Bronx and its so worth the travel it takes to get to East Harlem. We tried a daycare literally 8 minutes from our apartment, Malcolm wasnt havent it. He tried to escape their gate every time and the way he would try to run out of there when I picked up, broke my heart.Paws Gurus from Day 1 has been totally different. He gets excited in the car on the way. Upon arrival, he rushes tothe door and scratches the door to let them know he has arrived. He doesnt look back when he enters.Here are the things I appreciate...1. I TRUST Malcolm is safe.2. I TRUST Malcolm will be fed HIS food the way I desire.3. I TRUST the staff to engage with Malcolm throughout the day.4. I trust Malcolms mediciation will be administered as the vet prescribed.5. I TRUST Malcolm has a good time.6. I TRUST the daycare is open when they say they will be.7. I TRUST I will be communicated with about anything that has happened throughout the day.I cant say enough about this place. As a single dog mom, it feels so good to have someone/ a place to help me with my Malcolms care.

Wow- had a great experience here with the Bath Spa package! I was a bit nervous how my dog would do because she hates having her nails done, but when I met Vera I immediately felt at ease with her calming, caring and friendly demeanor. Two hours later, I picked up a clean and refreshed pup, who looks and smells great. Happy to find this neighborhood spot!

The Paws Gurus are amazing. They take care of my baby as if he were their own. They are always super attentive and have tons of activities for the dogs. They also offer grooming services. I love the convenience of everything offered to me, and go to work at peace knowing my baby is in good hands. I highly recommend their service. Your pets will appreciate it and you will too.

This place is amazing. We brought in our Maltese with a bad Matte everywhere. After a full grooming his coat felt much better and he looked much more comfortable. I was also impressed with how quickly he warmed up to everyone working there. He can be a bit nervous around new people, and they said he was a very good boy. When he came out he was super happy and calm. All in all this was the best grooming experience I’ve ever had with my dog. I will certainly be coming back regularly!

My puppy Luna comes for daycare and grooming services and she LOVES it. She loves playing with the other dogs. Vera, her mom and the other staff have always been nice to us and show much love to Luna :). Highly recommend! I feel at peace knowing that my Luna is happy and safe when she comes to daycare!

I have had such a great experience so far at Paws Gurus! They are passionate about your pet and I can notice how happy my dog is every time I’m about to drop her off.Friendly and animal loving staff, clean and spacious facility. Very convenient work hours that allow me to attend appointments even during after work hours! Trusted and convenient pick up and drop off services are amazingly provided in case you are running late or need to leave for work earlier! Best second house for my pet ever!!

This is the best place for grooming, daycare and boarding. We have a cockapoo who has been coming here since she was a few months old. She gets so excited to see Vera and the wonderful staff. They do an excellent job grooming her - and she is NOT easy to groom. Also when you drop off for daycare, they update their Instagram stories hourly so you can see your pup and all their new friends. We are moving from the East Harlem area but plan to continue bringing her here for grooming and boarding because we love them so much.

Last time Lucy was in desperate need of a haircut. Groomer made her gorgeous again, even with very short coat. I prefer to use neighborhood businesses and recommend Paws Guru to all pooch families in East Harlem and beyond. Vera and her Mom work hard to provide the best of service. This time I was careful not to let Lucy develop mats. The grooming and bathing were easy. Lucy is a darling old lady of 16, but she looks more like 12 with her new haircut.

This is the only place I will take my 1 year old cockapoo for grooming and boarding. Vera and Alejandra (groomer) are wonderful and my dog is always so excited to see them. I never have to worry when I drop her off. They make scheduling easy, the cost is fair, and they do an overall excellent job taking care of our pup :)

I have known Vera for 3 years. She provides daycare and overnight boarding for my close friend’s dog , so I interact with her regularly. My friend adopted the dog after her previous owner died very unexpectedly. The dog has lived in 4 homes in her short life so she understandably has significant insecurity issues. Vera has been 1 of 2 constants in the dog’s life over the past 3 years and it shows. I recently picked up the dog after 10 days of boarding with Vera while my friend was out of town… their longest separation to date. I have done this numerous times. As always, the dog was thrilled to see me because she knows she will see her owner very soon. But it was so obvious that she was torn between going with me and staying with Vera…. again, after 10 days of boarding! If that doesn’t say it all, I don’t know what does. Please take with a grain of salt some of these recent low ratings with no detail provided. They simply don’t match up with my 3 years of experience with Vera. I recommend her with absolutely no reservations.

Vera (the owner) is basically our pups godmother. Vera walked our dog from the second day we adopted him and now also boards him when we cant bring our pup with us when were away. We love The Paws Gurus! Two paws up! Our very energetic 9mos old puppy Carmello goes to doggy daycare here and has a blast, and best of all comes home very tired! Whenever we arrive at daycare he is so excited to be there and get playing. Vera is wonderful and I feel so comfortable knowing my fur baby is safe and in such good, dog-loving hands. We also love watching the videos of the dogs playing on instagram later in the day!We recommend this doggy daycare to all of our friends.

I never take my dog to the groomers because he’s got anxiety & trauma, but he’s getting older, I’m getting busier, and I knew he needed some TLC.The Paws Gurus took amazing care of my pup, and I can tell he’s happier after the visit. The price is also amazing!! Thank you so much. :)

Paws Gurus is one of the best dog daycares around. I take my dog here weekly and he loves it. The owner Vera is amazing and communicative. Great value for a great service!They post everything on their Instagram where you can see the dogs during the day and how much fun theyre having.

Vera is truly our pup Lily’s 3rd mom, and Alba’s her grandmum! They’ve helped us raise Lily by giving her playtime and enrichment activities while we’re at work, and by giving her lots of love and comfort when we’re out of town. Vera is quick to answer a text and to offer training advice when needed. Alba even feeds Lily by hand when she’s too excited to eat her lunch. Best of all, Lily LOVES to go to daycare. When we say “want to go see Vera and Alba?” Lily runs around, wags her tail, and races to the door. Thank you, Paws Gurus!

We were disappointed with Paws Gurus. Like many people we saw the great reviews and loved the location so my wife stopped by after work to take a look at the place. She was told that she could get a tour when she came back with the dogs for their evaluation day. Well we set up the evaluation and she still was not given a tour. When I picked them up at the end of the day I was also not allowed to check out the area where the dogs are kept. That’s just unacceptable for any business that is going to keep our dogs.Also, every time we showed up—as brand new customers, mind you—Vera seemed annoyed with us. There was no attempt to tell us about the place. No effort to show us anything. Not even a sales pitch on buying package deals for doggy daycare.I showed up to pick the pups up after their evaluation. They passed but I wasn’t given any kind of summary or explanation. I had to ask questions and Vera was very short with her answers. Honestly I questioned myself and maybe I just was expecting too much. But then every other place in our neighborhood explains that you will get a full evaluation of their first day, how they did etc. It’s really important because it helps them place your dogs with other similar dogs in terms of size and temperament. With Vera we got next to nothing.When picking up the dogs I asked Vera if there was a way to check in on the dogs via a live camera or something. There isn’t, but she tells me we can see the pups throughout the day via their instragram story. It’s fine that they don’t have a live camera feed, but here I am at the end of their first stay just learning that we could have checked in via Instagram. I just don’t understand why this information isn’t provided for in the beginning.Vera might be very good with dogs, but she’s definitely not a people person. Her reluctance to give a tour of her facility to prospective clients was a huge red flag for us. I need to see where my dogs are going to spend their time. Vera’s low-key hostility and inability to provide basic information are enough to keep us from leaving our pups here.

My dog Hunter has been going to Paws Gurus and loves it! He pulls me there every day. Vera is amazing and thoughtful in her approach to dog daycare. The pick up and drop off service is very helpful.

Paws Gurus is the best doggy day care in NYC! It is operated by Vera, she loves dogs and takes such good care of all the dogs, finding time for individual attention. Our dog Marcy learned such good manners and behaviors while hanging out with Vera. Your dog will love day care at Paws Gurus! I would highly recommend Paws Gurus.

Vera and her mother are FANTASTIC!!!! They both treat my dog with so much care and the place is beyond clean!! I’ve never been to a cleaner place for dogs to play. There is a sense of family and pure warmth. I’m so glad to have found this place

We love The Paws Gurus! Theyre always sweet, patient and gentle with my Morkie. My baby is always happy and so adorable when I pick him up after grooming.

Vera is absolutely wonderful with my nervous wreck of a dog. My puppy has pretty intense anxiety and has trouble walking down the street, but she will tug to go to Paws Guru, and is so excited whenever she walks in the door.

They took great care of my dog Kelsey. He was accepted as a walk in on a Saturday. The owner was very nice and professional. And the dog groomer is amazing. Thank you ladies for caring for my Kelsey. I know hes a headache.

Ronnie was in need of a groom asap and they were very helpful when I reached out to them! I wasnt sure how Ronnie was going to react due to it being the first groom. Needless to say I absolutely love how he came out :) we will definitely continue taking him here!!

Vera is great! Our puppers always enjoy their time here. It is so nice to see the instagram stories and facebook updates and seeing them playing fetch. I have honestly never been to a doggy daycare that is this clean either. Once when our dog had a little cut Vera also took the time to find a sweater and put it on her to protect the cut. Couldnt think of a better place for our dogs when we arent home with them!

Great please to bring both of my girls (Bella and Luna) Vera already walks and care while I am away, this is a plus. great place for my girls to hang out all day.

Not a place Id entrust our dog with. The place looks worn and danky. They do not allow visitors to see facilities unlike other day care centers which is obviously unacceptable. I called twice to get brief information about their offerings too and the person at the phone was similarly frustrated and borderline rude on answering very simple questions like who monitors the dogs and what is their experience etc etc. Avoid.
