Honeys Pet Grooming

Just moved to the city and discovered Honey’s! She did an amazing job grooming my Samoyed and her care was super evident. He had surgery a few months ago so I asked her to be gentle around his incision. Her salon is also very clean and spacious. Will def come back!

If I could give 100 stars it still wouldn’t be enough. Honey is true to her name - extremely sweet!!!My pup is difficult and hates going to the groomer but Honey was so patient with her the whole time and she ensured she gained my dog’s trust first. Plus my dog looks AMAZING! I’ll never go anywhere else.Thank you Honey!!

Honey is the absolute best groomer. My dog, Lucy, is almost 15 and requires special care as she has some skin problems. Honey was very sensitive and took her time and did a superb job on Lucy. I am very grateful and I would highly recommend Honey to anyone!

She cut my dog so badly he needed stitches and sutures.FYI most of these reviews are for the amazing holistic dog and cat supply store that used to be in the same space years ago NOT for the current grooming company.

First impressions: The place was very calm and we really appreciated the groomers warm and caring personality. We left knowing thatChester was in great hands. Wowza! We couldnt believe how spotless and well groomed Chester was after his treatment. Simply amazing job with the groomer! Lil C was matted and scruffy (with monster paws), but came out looking like a pup (impressive for being 12 years old!). Thanks so much!Update 6/16/23Even though there are two dog groomers in my neighborhood I take my dogs on the subway to Honeys Pet Grooming because Honey is just that wonderful! Today I brought my 16 year old blind dog and Honey treated him so lovingly! You just dont get that kind of treatment at the typical dog groomers. It really made our day (including our dogs!). Thank you Honey!

I highly recommend Honeys Pet Grooming! We have been coming to Honey for a few years now, and we are always very satisfied with the result. You can tell Honey really loves dogs and has a passion for what she does. She is extremely caring with our little guy and gives him the best grooming at a very reasonable price for the area. Before Honey took over, we had tried a few other spots in the area, and this is by far the best experience weve had and has been our go-to for years now!

Ive meant to review this place for so long, and now I have a little free time. I just picked my Bouvier Des Flandres up from a groomer in Seattle tonight. There was no rhyme or reason to his haircut. He looked like an abstract painting, and thats not a compliment. Ive heard it before: Hes so hard to groom! He doesnt sit still! I know that. And thats why I wish I still lived in NYC, because I swear, the woman who groomed our Bouvier at Honeys was some kind of dog whisperer, and Ive compared every groomer to her since then. NYC, you are LUCKY to have this grooming salon. I remember calling after 5 hours asking, Is my dog ready? She answered, breathlessly: Hes a challenge. He doesnt like the clippers. So I brewed myself some coffee and left the clippers on, buzzing near him on the table. She actually gave my dog time to desensitize to the sound, and it was effective. Ive tried this myself, but it wasnt the same. I cant recall her name, but whoever you are, you truly have a connection to animals. You are patient, kind, and you are an artist!!! If I could charter my own jet with my dog to your salon, I would!!

Extremely friendly and easygoing. Honey groomed our cat and was so kind and did a great job. We will be coming back!

Note this review is only based on shopping experience, I have not used the groomer. Shopping there is pretty disappointing. They have high quality products but not a huge variety. When you check out,they charge a 3.75% convenience fee if you use a credit card. None of the products have a price, so you dont know what anything costs unless you ask. Additionally, they dont even offer itemized receipts to be able to see what it cost after!! About 2 weeks ago, I went to pick up food in the middle of the day and they were closed-no sign on the door, just lights out. I figured they ran out to grab lunch and would be back. But I decided to call before walking back over to make sure they were there. When I called, the woman told me that they were closed for the week because the groomer was sick. But there was no sign or anything on the door, to let customers know what was going on. They should have put a sign on the door to let people know they were closed for an extended period.

Ive had my Shih Tzu groomed here several times now and have always been satisfied! The groomer, Honey (sorry if thats spelled wrong), is very sweet and affectionate to my dog. Reasonably priced for Manhattan and quick (less than 2 hours)!

I love my visits to Petropolis! The staff- Evelyn, Claire, Marcos, and all the rest- is attentive, kind, and knowledgeable. Theyve guided me in making the best feeding choices for the animals I share my life with. They only carry the best products, and are led by certified animal nutritionist Tazz-a gem in her own right. Please stop in, and learn how best to keep your companions healthy and happy!

Amazing first experience with Lucky Paws! Honey took great care of our dog when we dropped her off to get her first bath here. Our dog left clean and happy :)

AVOID AT ALL COST!! I have honestly never had a worse experience in a store.I just started a job in the Financial District and was happy to see a pet store nearby where I could pick up some food for my dog on the way home.I walked in and asked for my brand, the woman (the owner apparently) informed me we dont carry that because its one of the worst brands, even though some people think its one of the best Period. End of discussion. So I had been in the store for about 1 minute and was made to feel like I should be arrested for animal cruelty because I feed my dog that horrible brand.Now, Im someone who wants to do the best for my pet and the owner could have conveyed the same information in a way that was not negative - but as a positive desire to give information without insulting me first. Id have been open to hearing her thoughts and suggestions for another food that might be better for my pet. She might have earned a loyal customer who would plunk down my hard earned money on a food that would undoubtedly be more expensive than the food I came in looking for.Instead I received a verbal slap in the face and left the store immediately. The woman at register, undoubted realizing this interaction had not gone well, called out a cheery Have a nice day! as I left to which I replied Ill try.Apparently the owner is happy to be superior, condescending, belittling and downright rude. Id have thought shed be interested in increasing her customer base, selling some product and making some money.She will certainly never be receiving any of mine.

Petropolis is the absolute best. They stock the brand of dog food we use, A+ Answers, and can special order anything we need. They make it very easy to re-order and will even put the order in a cab for delivery, since we are out of their delivery service area.

I am a forever dog lover and as of recent a first time dog owner. My puppy was having digestion issues, and nothing was working. I was getting frustrated as the vet bills were piling up with no solutions and/or improvements to my innocent pooch. Then I was introduced to Tazz, and since that time my dog has completely turned the corner.She is so knowledgeable and the diet she recommended has worked wonders. I go to her before my vet. Unfortunately, when I met her Petropolis was closed due to Sandy. It has since reopened, and I was so impressed when I made a visit. It is a lovely store that has everything you could possibly ever want. They are now my store.Between Tazz and her staffs expertise, and the store itself, I couldnt say enough good things about Petropolis. She fixed my puppy and for that I will be forever grateful.

Needed last minute calming treats while my sister visited with her dogs. They we incredibly informative on what products to use and how they work on animals. Excellent customer service and tons of real healthy options for pets

Just the best! They really love animals and are thoughtful, fun and beyond helpful. The store stocks a wide range of no BS really healthy products to keep your 4 legged friend in tip top shape. They do grooming too and have lots of toys etc. Im so happy we have them here downtown but I would travel anywhere in the city to shop with them.

Great store! They pretty much are *the* pet store in the Financial District. They are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Their store has lots of great offerings (including lots of more organic pet foods). They do free delivery too. Too bad I dont live close enough to be able to put that benefit to use!!

I was surprised when I saw this stores ratings werent super high then I read the low star givers - one gave 1 star because they were nonfunctioning during Hurricane Sandy??? One because theres a CC minimum - theres a minimum in almost every store! lol (I will also add I only spent $6.50 and was able to use my CC) -- all I can say is people should think about how their petty reviews genuinely affect a companys business..ANYWAY - I had the BEST experience here! The woman could tell I was a little flustered/overwhelmed by kitty stomach problems and she could not have been nicer or more helpful. I left with several different options, a moving forward plan of action, and a personal e-mail in case I have follow up questions... Thankful I found them!

I work a few blocks away and just learned about Petropolis. I was very happy to lug my laptop & stuff after a long workday and stop in because my usual pet store is out of the way on my way home.When I pulled out my card to pay she said oh, we have a $10 dollar mimimum. I asked how much it rang up to and she said $9.79. I had one single in my bag. So I said but its 21 cents, and she was like I dont make the rules.I honestly dont get the lack of basic courtesy in people.But i know how much it costs to lose a brand new customer. 21 cents.

Fantastic spot for dog and cat owners living in downtown Manhattan. The owner is super nice and helpful and many of her products eschews popular brands you would find at Petco for more eco-friendly options. There is also a great grooming facility in the back if your lil one needs a haircut or a nail clipping. Some of the prices can seem a bit high but nothing unusual for New York.Bottom Line: All in all my favorite pet store downtown.

I just welcomed my new puppy and had been given what I thought to be solid advice about his care from the breeder...thankfully, I just so happen to live close to Petropolis!I wandered in, figuring I should check out the local pet store and to get a leash and collar, and was immediately engaged by the staff. They were DEF dog people and immediately and genuinely interested in knowing my situation. This effort led to several suggestions for food and grooming that I didnt know about.Enter Tazz, the delightful, straight-talking owner, who proceeded to crash-course me through all of my misconceptions with pet care! One of the most knowledgeable and helpful people Ive encountered about all of it: food, training, services (like local vets and walkers), grooming, treats, toys, what to expect, etc.. I walked out a good 45 minutes later, feeling far more in control of responsible ownership of my new little boy.I cant say enough good things about Tazz and her staff and know just where Ill be shopping for all-things-doggie, henceforth!

Excellent service! Wonderful answers to help naturally heal my sweet dog. Its only been a few days, and there is already an improvement in her condition. This is the start of a beautiful relationship with Tazz!

The owner really is extremely helpful and gives great suggestions even if it means not buying her products. I get these natural bones stuffed with bone marrow that my dog loves!

I absolutely dislike when businesses close temporarily and do not update their business page! I made the trek over here, as a loyal customer, only to find that the business is closed for a construction. This is so irresponsible of them not to update their Google page! How many ppl are coming here due to their listing on what is the most used local maps and business search platform? I’m terribly annoyed by this lol

Local pet shop when we lived across the street. Really friendly and helpful people. Knowledgeable on proper care and products. I believe they deliver all over the lower Manhattan area as well.

Love this store! The owner and staff are extremely knowledgeable about everything on their shelves and pet nutrition. They also groom our two dogs (American Eskimo and Mini Australian Shepherd) and always do an A+ job.

I walked here after work one day to see if there was anything I could bring home to my new pup. I felt lost by all of the food/treat/toy options and was clearly anxious about how thin my little Carmen was. Layla was a ray of light in that moment (I hope Ive spelled her name right). She took the time to explain the nutrition needs of a dog Carmens age and size and guided me through choosing the right brand. She wasnt just extremely knowledgable, she was kind, and I really appreciate that.

I have lived in the neighborhood for 20 years, and I have always relied on Taz and Petropolis to help guide each of my dog’s dietary needs. Recenty my 10 year old Chihuaua went on a hunger strike, and I was getting nervous. I had tried almost everything I could get my hands on before I made it by to see Taz. Without blinking an eye, she told me exactly what to buy. I bought and he didn’t just eat it... its all he’ll eat now. Since Taz recommended it, I know its healthy for him and he went from not eating at all to eating healthier than he ever has. Even if you dont live in the Financial District, Taz’s pet nutritional knowledge is worth coming down for. I own 2 grooming salons on the Upper East Side, and anytime my clients have nutritional questions I reccommend they call Taz! She knows her stuff!!

Total rip off. this used to be my neighborhood go-to for dog food and other necessities. because it closed before i could get to it one day, i bought dog food at the other local pet store and realized that my dog food was $6 cheaper than at petropolis. ok no biggie, now i know so i switched where i bought dog food. well, i stopped in again because it was on my way home and ended up trying a new food. it was pricey, but little did i know how pricy. it is HALF the price online. i understand markup--but dog food she sold me for $30 is $12 online! and the larger size is $32 whereas she sells it for $60! i get her volume is going to be lower than the online market--and i am all for supporting local businesses (i actually avoid shopping online for this reason)--but this margin is really at the expense of the consumer. they have to try harder to get us to buy from small businesses and be more competitive. there is no way i can justify spending DOUBLE. its so, so disappointing. i will never set food in this store again.
