Dr Stafford is the best. I don’t trust anyone else to take care of my babies! I live in Queens and have had experience with multiple vets here… it’s 100% worth the 4 hour drive, knowing my pups in the best hands!!
I have not decided whether or not to bring my birds here or not. They obviously care a lot about dogs and cats. And they will see rabbits and ducks and chickens. However the unfortunate thing about having ornamental /heritage chickens is that you have animals that mean as much or more to you as peoples dogs do but the whole animal world feels like they are somehow more disposable. So while this vet here has been so much more understanding and helpful than Cornell University I and all of the other crazy chicken people are still pretty much on our own with issues dog people get addressed just because their animal are the right species. My birds learn step up, step down, to jump up on places I call them to, and then get down again when asked, the two oldest can turn off my cell phone when they dont like it and my four year old can fly to my hand on cue. My birds can live from six to twelve years. They deserve as much as your dog is all I am saying.
Ive been going to OVH for many years, through different ownership and veterinarians, and have always been happy with how pets and humans alike are treated. (Even my fear-aggressive dog does fine with checkups!) The manager, Stacy, has got to be a big part of that continuity, as shes the one face I can remember being a constant all these years, and shes always on top of things. Hats off to everyone at OVH for running a tight ship with a welcoming smile.
What a kind compassionate caring team. Dr Stafford and her team cared for my Bentley for years. When it came trine for him to leave us they were so caring and supportive. Wonderful team of folks. Thank you for all you did for Bentley.
I take my neighbors dogs to the vet because my neighbor is disabled. Last time I was there I made an appointment for my dog because she was shaking her head and I was worried about and ear infection. I also scheduled her nails to be clipped as well . When I got there I was told that my dogs appointment was a different date. The vet tech went in to speak to the doctor about it . When she came out the tech said”we can clip her nails but it will be an additional $78.00 office fee on top of my bill to check check her ears because they made a scheduling mistake? My dog has to suffer till tomorrow when I get another veterinarian to do the job. That to me was disgusting and I told my neighbor I am never going back there. She needs to find another veterinarian if she wants me to take her dogs anymore!
They have been great with my dog and myself. They send an email when my dog needs a booster or PE. I like that. They are always accommodating when my dog is in need. They are fast, friendly and professional. I travel from New Hampshire to ensure my dog gets the best care. I highly recommend this office!
Id give them a zero if I could. They kept misdiagnosing my dog for over a year, giving him tons of meds he didnt need costing me over $600 in meds alone that werent for his condition. Dr. Z in Davenport veterinary diagnosed him correctly on the first visit but by then it was to late and he had to be euthanasia. If oneonta veterinary hospital had taken closer care my dog. He would have lived another 5yrs at least. To make matters worse they messed up my dogs neutering my dog had to stay in the hospital for over a week. He was in so much pain. I had a $3000 bill because they screwed up. I dont recommend anyone use this vet. I switched all my pets to Dr. Z IN DAVENPORT VETERINARY HOSPITAL. Best choice I ever made. And hes very affordable. Read his reviews hes amazing.
We had just arrived to town for vacation. After the long 3 day road trip, our 2 aussies were excited to run and play catch in a field...until our 1 yr old puppy pocked herself in the eye! It didnt look good, but not really bad so we werentsure if she needed treatment. We had no idea to call. Within minutes the property caretaker had called a friend who recommended Dr Joan Puritz. She came in after hours and with the other vet on 24 hour emergency call, checked out the eye, said it was good we brought her in, and got immediate treatment started, which probably prevented longterm effects like scar tissue. Within days of taking the meds her eye looked normal again. We were so impressed with the stellar care she got and the caring, professional care and friendliness of the docs, even after hours. We are so grateful. If we lived in town, she would be our regular vet. Thanks Docs Joan and Josh!
Ive been surprised by the sudden change in tone here. Niceness and compassion seems to have been replaced with rudeness and apathy. From the receptionist talking down to my wife and interrupting at every turn, to them cancelling our appointment by enforcing an unwritten policy... dont expect them to care.
The treatment staff and vets are very friendly and professional. They help me stay up-to-date on the vaccinations Boston is due for.
Made and prepaid an appointment two months in advance which then got canceled when I was already there. Reception staff was incredibly rude and just hung up on me in a subsequent phone call. Not the kind of customer service I expect especially when I need to prepay two months in advance.Only reason I am giving two stars rather than (n)one is because the vet I had seen before left a good impression.
My parents had to bring in my dog, and the staff were so kind and helpful. They did their best to make my old dog comfortable and helped my family when he was being put to sleep. Super sweet staff, thank you again for helping sweet Jake cross the rainbow bridge.
I cannot even begin to express my gratitude for this incredible team. From the front desk staff, to the techs, office manager and, of course, Dr. Schafer, they are all beyond incredible and talented. Unfortunately, we had some traumatic events take place recently with our puppy, Jalen, which has led to several recent visits and much more to come. Dr. Schafer and the staff have been extremely supportive and helpful throughout this whole situation and we are very grateful for their urgency and the outstanding care they provide for us. They took the time to explain everything in detail and answer all of my many questions. If you are looking for a veterinarian, I couldn’t recommend a better place to go. I can full heartily say that they love our pup just as much as we do and have truly gone above and beyond to ensure that Jalen is still able to live a long and healthy life.Thank you a million times to the Oneonta Veterinary Hospital staff!! Beyond thankful for every one of you!
The rates for regular check ups are reasonable, and relatively transparent and on par with other vets in the area. I like the drive up window for picking up meds if we need them. The cost for dental surgery felt really high to me, and so did the cost of a spay/neuter.. though I did book the neuter through them, and I felt like my dog was well taken care of. I’m gonna need to get a couple of estimates for the dental. I know they were careful to make sure that they overestimated so I wouldn’t be surprised by any charges. I appreciate that. They do have this new program where you can put money down as savings over time so that it’s available when you need it. Kind of like vet care layaway.
Brought my dog here after his broken leg, to get groomed, he was matted from not being able to be groomed due to his leg. Brought him here after his cast came off & they dematted him but cut my dog up like crazy! Not to mention, the absolute judge mental attitude that was thrown our way. We love our dog like he is our child. It was very insulting. He was matted but he was not severely matted & he is a good boy for the other groomer we brought him to but according to this place he was not a good boy. But my dog has cuts on his wiener & belly. He isn’t being his friendly self. I don’t know if they were taking their anger out on my baby but it is not ok. Do NOT recommend bringing a dog here if you care & love them.
They did a superb job with Ellie Mae. She can be a naughty girl sometimes when getting her nails done
I had to bring my cat in for an emergency visit, so needless to say I was pretty overwhelmed. Stacy, Jorge, and Aiden were all wonderfully kind to me and did a great job accommodating me and my cat. I appreciated Dr. Stafford for seeing us on short notice and providing care for us in our time of need. Thank you Oneonta Veterinary Hospital for your services, care, and kindness.
The staff was very patient & kind & answered question & concerns I had about my cat & shared info that I needed. Everyone was professional & very helpful
Attempted to make an appointment for my dog. I was told by the scheduler that I had to prepay a depodit. I told h .er I did nothave a credit card but to make the appointment. I will brong in the dep I tje stadd could not make the appointment until it was prepaid WHAT!!!. I never had a vet reqest this. Is this being greedy? Trust me, I would NEVER do busines with this clinicsit.
I brought my dog in thinking I may never bring him home again and Dr Shafer was beyond on top of it. Not only was I able to take him home with somewhat an eased mind as she explained everything to me very well and believed it wasnt life immediately threatening Each time I called with follow up questions she got back to me very quickly. And my dog is doing much better. Very friendly and I can tell she genuinely cares about the animals she treats
The doctor was very kind and knowledgeable. She had no trouble answering my questions and didnt act like I was annoying her like my previous vet did. I felt as though my opinion mattered and was allowed to make informed choices for my pet. Im so glad I switched to this vets office!
Family friendly staff and vet. I would recommend anyone with pets to bring them here.
Ive been going to OVH for over 7yrs.And everytime I go I have a knot in my stomach because of one receptionist Michelle makes life miserable. She is cold and talks down to you and is condescending. It has come to the point I am changing Vets.2 months ago I had to have our cat put down,it was during a time that our other pet was going through a diagnosis and bills were emounting . Although they were kind enough to extend a payment plan for me ( which I will continue to make payments on)dealing with this receptionist is just to diffcult. After our cat was put down I donated 2 boxes ,about $100 worth of Purina Pro Plan Hydra Care in hope that if someone could not afford this ,that OVH could give it to them who needed it .Now 2 months later I call to ask for two twelve packs of the Hyda Care for our cat we rescued. And first Michelle told me I needed a prescription which is not true ,after checking with Purina .Then I asked again again after informing her I donated two boxes worth over $100 thats 8 boxes of 12 packs. She told me she has to charge me. I reminded her again I donated the Hydra Care, then she said any donations we have to charge for if we give them to you.Its a slap in the face insulting and illegal. You cannot resell donations !Michelle is on a power trip at OVH.She is extremely rude and just not worth the nausea I feel everytime I walk through their doors.Im done with OVH they have outstanding Vets ,its to bad Im being kept from good pet care because basically they have an employee that is a bully .Michelle if your reading this ,you just cost OVH the loss of two long time patrons. Its just not worth dealing with you.And you cannot resell donations ,and especially to the person who donated the Purina Hydra Care .Maybe you should know what your talking about before acting out .
Amazing staff! Dr. Shafer confidently took our challenging case with care and compassion. The front desk personnel were also great. Thank you for caring for little Lola.
I would never recommend anyone to bring any of your animals here. Unless you got deep pockets , They are in the business of making money Not helping peoples Animals they have no sympathy whatsoever.
When they first opened they were great over the last few years their prices have sky rocketed making caring for your animal a very pricey endeavor.
Update** My dogs condition worsened to the point I took him elsewhere and it turns out he has had a severe UTI and hes lucky to be alive right now. Screw this place!I do not recommend that you take your pets to this vet. I brought my 7 month old puppy back in March 2021 for a neuter and ever since then he began to have uncontrollable accidents in the house and every time I have brought it up to the vet she has gotten defensive and talks about the neutering procedure, didn’t really seek for a diagnosis to what is happening to my dog she kind of just wrote it off as an I don’t know. I have had multiple tests done on him not only did they extremely up-charged me, but nothing has been resolved yet. The only thing that they last did is prescribe him a medication that hardly works and he continues to have accidents around the house since March. Do yourself a favor and seek elsewhere.
Took my dog to an appointment the other day. The Vet Tech was wonderful, caring and attentive. The rest of the staff was great. The problem I had was with Dr. Puritz. She was degrading the technician right in front of us. I was appalled by this. Does Dr. Puritz realize that she wouldnt have the business that she has without the amazing staff that she has? I am surprised the staff stays there with the way she treats them. After seeing all of this, I absolutely felt horrible for the technician. I will be taking my business elsewhere. A vet who appreciates their employees.
The staff at Oneonta Veterinary Hospital are so kind and gentle with my animals.
I’ve never met a vet office who treats pet owners so coldly. I use this vet because they’re the only office in a 40 minute drive and more often than not the technicians treat me and my animals with disdain and obvious contempt. I’m given blank stares and hurried through conversations when I inquire about my pets. The care my pets receive is the minimum of what one would expect from a health care professional but the bedside manner from the technicians is abhorrent
Very knowledgeable and caring doctor.
I came here A few years ago when my older dog got bit by a neighbors dog. It was a pretty bad gash. The doctor came in at night, took care of Roxy, and gave us some meds. Got a call later in the week to check on progress and everything was fine.If you had asked me last week to write a review, it would have been five stars. But not now.The other day, I brought my younger dog into the hospital at 4 pm. I checked first. They are open until 7 pm, and the website says walk-ins are welcome. So I brought my injured dog Riley in. Unfortunately, I brought Riley in last week to the dog groomer, and while she was bathed, the groomer dropped her. Since then, Riley cant put any weight on her back leg. She has sprained her leg before, she is a very active dog, but after a few days, I was worried. So I decided to bring her in. I dont live near Oneonta, we are on vacation, so I could not bring her to her regular vet. When I entered the office, I found three ladies sitting at reception. I explained the situation. I asked to see the doctor. The doctor was in surgery. I said I would be happy to wait. No dice. No time available. I asked for an appointment the next day or the next. This was Wednesday, 8/21. Nothing available until September 1. I said the dog is injured, cant you squeeze me in? Nope. The best they could do was a recommendation of another hospital a half-hour away and 1 hour from where I was staying.I was not happy, but the real issue was the attitude. The receptionists were not rude, but they could not have been less sympathetic. They couldnt wait to get us out if there. There was absolutely no one else in the reception area. No understanding. No compassion. They couldnt be bothered. This is a hospital. They are supposed to take emergencies and injuries. I can understand that they are busy, a probably have staff on vacation, but couldnt the doctor have taken a quick look to see if it was a sprain or something more serious? If it was severe, I could have run her to the other hospital. As it is, I have to wait to get Riley to her regular vet. She doesnt seem to be in pain, but she isnt improving either. I hope shell be ok.Im leaving this review in hopes that someone in this hospital talks to the reception staff. They had a choice. If they couldnt help Riley, they could have sent us on our way, thinking that they at least cared. Instead, we left worried for Riley, frustrated, and angry. If you decide to be in the medical profession, there is no excuse for a lack of compassion. Its a shame. I vacation here regularly, and had a very positive first experienced with this hospital, and they were my first thought when I decided Riley needed help, but this last experience was horrible. Im not sure I can ever go back.
They take well care of my two dogs Buddy and Lilly for several years. I have my dogs vaccinated with them, and they offer the mercury free rabies vaccine. I have companion/hunting dogs/watch dogs, ancient foreign breed, that get into stuff, and so they need a lot of vaccines, My smaller dog Lilly received medication for Lyme Disease and that worked, and the same medication also seemed to get rid of her ear mites for still many months, maybe it was coincidence. My dog Buddy several years ago had a weird fungus on his head, and the VETs medication worked even though it smelled disgusting, (I cook for my dogs and give them doggie vitamins I purchase elsewhere so my dogs have yet to need a lot of care since they are quite healthy, but I know I can count on the Oneonta Vet Hosp.).The Oneonta Vet Hospital also has a small, narrow, long hilly adjacent off-leash dog park next to the parking area, that is good for dogs that are not space conscious, as the steep hill gives good exercise, and there is a flat area on top. They would have more dogs using it if they had RSVP since some dogs are better off using it not during open time, but it just has open time. I cannot give the Oneonta Veterinary Hospital five stars because I am against spay/neuter, and they do not have a breeding facility program like some Vet Hospitals do. They also do not have much information on dog nutrition, holistic health for dogs, and I had to find that all out on different online veterinary nutrition/holistic websites dedicated to dogs.
The people at the desk were rude. I drove 45 minutes to an appointment called to let them know I was running late and they refused to see my cat. She offer to have me wait 3 hours with my kids for an emergency visit that would have cost 3 times as much. I needed a health certificate signed so my son could travel with his emotional companion and they were unwilling to take the extra 5 minutes to help. We still had time left on our appointment but they were unwilling to help in anyway.
So greatful to the women who answered the phone Friday morning when I called. We are visiting from out of town our dog became ill . We are in Cooperstown 2 vets I called were abrut abd of no help.this office showed concern and fit us in that afternoon. DR. LENCI WAS WONDERFUL .VERY CONASSIONATE WELL RUN OFFICEwe
Been taking my fur family there for years. There always good to my pets. Friendly atmosphere
After my cat nearly died there, we switched to Valley Vet Associates animal hospital. My cat had crystals in his urine, but they just stuck a catheter in him. His bladder nearly burst.VVA gave him an ultrasound & found 9 stones in his urinary tract. He had emergency surgery & hes back to normal.
The vet was knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. The vet tech held my feisty cat firmly but gently and kept her calm. The staff at the desk were all very polite and in good humor. I would recommend to a friend.
My fiancé and I just moved to Oneonta with our two cats back in March. We have since had three visits to OVH with both of our cats (twice for updating shots, once for a sick cat). On all three visits we were set in a room and were not seen by anyone until at least 15 minutes after our scheduled appointment. On one occasion we waited 45 minutes after our scheduled appointment before we were seen. Going to the vet is obviously very stressful for our cats and this extra waiting time made for three very unpleasant visits. I will say that when were seen one of the Doctors was very nice and compassionate toward my cats. The last visit we made was with a different doctor, who was very rough and was visibly afraid of my cat when he hissed at her. She was very jumpy and only made the cat more stressed. All that being said, my cats did receive decent care when they were seen. However, the final straw and the reason for my writing of this review... We just recently got a new 12 week old kitten. Over the weekend we noticed that the kitten, and one of my adult cats was developing some discharge and redness in their eyes. It got progressively worse over the course of the weekend and on Monday morning one of the kittens eyes had become rather swollen and uncomfortable. I called first thing Monday morning (8:30 am) and the earliest they could get me in was Friday. I understand that first come first serve so at the very least I wanted to speak with a Dr. to see if there was anything I could do between now and Friday to help alleviate the discomfort that my cats are in. I left a message with the Dr. at 8:30 am, and at 2:45 had yet to hear anything. I called again and was told that it was busy and I would get a call today or tomorrow. Meanwhile my cats are left to suffer...I will be calling the Community Vet Center and making an appointment with them for any other vet appointments in the future.
Hes so happy he went to the vet.its relax time with me and my son.
On a recent Saturday night, around midnight, our English Bulldog, Edith, was stressed after a long trip to visit relatives. She was having great difficulty breathing, and we feared she would not survive the night. After calling a local vets emergency number, we were referred to Oneonta Veterinary Hospital. It was there that we met Dr. Pam Rooney and Dr. Joan Puritz. It was their extraordinary efforts throughout the early morning hours that saved the life of our beloved, Edith! Their knowledge, and professionalism was so evident and for that, we are so grateful! The quality of the care Edith received was outstanding! How lucky we were to find such dedicated professionals when we needed them most!
Amazing staff. Communication between staff with each other is good and between staff and pet parents good. They also obviously care about your pets.
The doctors here are amazing! They truly care about the animals and go above and beyond to help. After my dog swallowed a sock Dr. Puritz told me what to do over the phone and helped successfully get it back up without taking any form of payment! To me, thats someone who really cares about my baby not the money! God bless your practice! Dr. Shirley Rufrano, D.C.
Very nice and welcoming staff.
They were great with Rue she was nervous and jumpy during her appointment. They were very patient and handled her very well.
Thank you for your excellent care!
Wonderful place ,they truly care about you and your pet ,always quick to get you into a appointment and on call 24 hours for a emergency visit I wouldnt trust my cats anywhere else my one cat is 19 years old and has been going there over 10 years
Very caring and knowledgeable.
They care about your pet here. You dont feel like they take advantage of you, when you get the bill. Good service, like here is hard to find in Oneonta.
This animal hospital has taken in two different stray cats Ive found over the years who were injured. The first one was a cat who would hang out with me during the cold nights while I was homeless, and the second was an injured/ maimed kitten I found on Main street.I just called them because Im finally in a place in my life where I can properly care for an animal, and they were extremely friendly and had a good idea for me since they currently didnt have what I was looking for.To the guy below who gave the review a week ago, I dont know who waits DAYS to take an obviously injured animal to the vet and then expects them to jump through hoops when theyre short staffed (and no. the vet isnt going to stop their SURGERY procedure to look at your animal, do you even know what surgery means?!), but he might consider it was his poor attitude that got a poor attitude from the staff. Ive always found their staff extremely friendly, even in the face of dire circumstances. I cannot stand people who have entitlement issues. If you were that bloody concerned about your dog, you would have driven the half hour to the other vet. When I found out my cat buddys paw was injured, when I was HOMELESS, I called and called and called and begged for rides for the injured animal. When I found the injured kitten, I begged the bus people to help me get the kitten to these lovely people.
They have lost the connection with patients. Much too corporate for my taste. When Dr. Puritz left her business, this place went downhill.
They suck!! They were going to have a 4 month old puppy put down because they said it had parvo 😡 did not do any testing!! Good thing i went to a different vet!! And everyone should stay away from this vet too!!
Great people, great place, great care for our fur-family. They also have nice products that compliment pet ownership, leashes, collars, tick-getters, flea Combs, etc..
I have brought my pets here for many things. They are helpfull and honest. I will continue to to use them as a primary vet!
This place has new drs. and new employees. Not very nice on the phone and let you tell your animals story then tell you they are not taking new patients! Good grief!
Omgosh Love these people I take my baby Teddy there they are so gentle with him and he loves it they do such a great job with the animals it doesnt matter day or night they are always there and if not they guide you and tell you where to go I will always go to them....Love it 💘 !!
Very pricey but worth every penny! They deeply care about animals at this place and will do all they can to keep your little critters healthy.
The Veterinarians and Vet techs are all very nice and patient with my dogs.Everyone is very nice and helpful
My cat had to get a kidney removed and was decently priced. Had a follow up and answered all my questions. Great place!
The vets and all the staff here are really nice, and theyve taken great care of my dogs and cats. Highly recommended.
Hard to believe this place used to be a Burger King. Love what theyve done, the staff is always pleasant and helpful. Wouldnt take my Gus anywhere else.
My dog went to this vet to have his teeth cleaned they pulled 13 teeth out without even calling us I would never recommend them again this is completely unacceptable just cause the felt lose. Horrible service don’t let them take your dogs teeth
The doctors here have been seeing my pets for years and have been effective in aodong. Them whenever necessary.
Very good care of sick puppy. Beautiful little dog park. A little pricey. Great staff. knowledgeable and caring!
Very nice to help people with very little income to get their animals spayed/nuetered... I would recommend these guys to EVERYONE!!! LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!
Great staff and pets always like to go...love the vets....they really care about our furry family...
I don’t know what I would do without Dr. Puritz and Dr. Stafford. Not to mention the staff who truly love the pets and their owners. While it’s been a rough few weeks, they have helped to support me and my cats.
Awesome vets, caring staff, reasonable rates, covienient location. 24- hour on call vet. Private dog run open to the public.
Everyone there makes you feel so welcomed. Great place for pet care.
Dr Peritz saved my dog in the middle of the night when know one else would help. I have used them for all my family pet emergencies
I was very pleased with their emergency care they gave to my fur baby Lavern. ☺
Very caring and friendly staff. There is also a small dog park on the property that is open to the public as well.
They took special care during my pets end of life. They were very compassionate.
Very professional and friends. All of the Doctors there are very knowledgeable and patient. All of the Employees love animals.
Absolutely awesome they were very good to mans best friend !!!
They always take good care of my cat.
Did not like this place at all and they did not help my dog
Great pet friendly place... although he doesnt like his nails clipped he always happy to be there
The doc took the time to read my pups file, and then did a through check up. Great people!!!
Dr Stafford and her staff are wonderful
Friendly, knowledgeable people. Treated my dog and I with kindness and respect.
All the folks working at the V.H. were very attentive each time we took our cats for care
We love Oneonta veterinarian. Theyre prompt, professional and fairly priced.
Great people...they all care about your animals health...
Very wonderful place. Staff is great, very clean
My dogs are seen by Dr. Stafford and never have an issue. Will always come back.
They were so caring about Daisys last moments.
Very cute place! The staff were super friendly and were great with my moms new kitten.
The only vet in Oneonta and you don’t accept new client, even for emergencies? Really?
Very helpful staff. Easy to get an appointment, especially in an emergency.
Very friendly staff and always willing to help the best they can.
They take wonderful care of our dogs.
The doctors and staff care about your pet. Their rates are reasonable. I know when I drop off my pup for surgery, she is in loving, capable hands. Yes their busy, however would you rather go to an animal hospital with no patients? The technicians are well trained and professional. We have been going to this clinic for almost a year. If you looking for a caring, capable Vet with knowledgeable staff go to Oneonta Veterinary Hospital.
Always in and out..not waiting time.. doctors are good and stuff people nice
My dogs love Joan!! Excellent service.
Personable and caring. Handled dogs vaccinations, neutering, and general healthcare.
They care I had these guys for years our pets are our family
Usually pretty good at taking care of pet problems.
They were very nice and honest. I wasnt quite sure if I had fully paid a bill from a while back and they remembered me. The Veterinarian had moved on. But theyve maintained their integrity. Thanks for your honesty.
Great staff super nice people
Dr. Stafford is absolutely amazing!!!
I brought my dog there Because I thought he was sick. I requested an X-ray And the doctor Said it was all clear. I bought him back 5 months later for the same thing. I again requested a X-ray and blood work. They found a nodule in his lung. They compared it to the 1st X-ray and their it was. He was misdiagnosed. His has lung cancer. They dont even deserve 1 star.
We drive from New Jersey because Everyone there is wonderful. The doctors are second to none.
They were very nice kind and courteous. When I was having my dog rebel put under euthanasia they were very nice and courteous about how they were doing it. Just all in all a good place
Excellent place to take your pet.
Dr.Joan is awesome
This place is so great and wonderful. Thank you for being here.
Wonderful staff kind friendly and attentive.
They tell my gf when she calls for an emergency visit for our dog that its a no go..Tell us try another vet an hour away.... they dont care if your pet di3s... dont give these ppl any business.... thought it was an animal hospital... apparently i I was wrong.... my dog will likely die due to these vets not actually wanting to do their job
Very kind staff & lots goodies for furbabies.
Would give less stars if I could. Refused to help me with an older dog who is dying.
Very caring and informative practice. Dr. Stafford and staff are wonderful. Thank you!!!
Extremely friendly with your pets, and genuinely care about them individually .... Great services, and great prices
Great staff! Very loving..
Love them and care ❤alot
Joan Puritz is a great vet but I had a horrible experience there today with one of the other vets and the office manager. Shame on both of you.I had Snuggle put to sleep at home one week after this disastrous visit. The vet came to the apartment and said that because my cat had bitten me so visciously, she felt that it would happen again and that I might get hurt. She said she was more concerned about the bite than the seizure. This is what I had said to the Oneonta vet. I had practically begged her to help me. She questioned the validity of what I was saying about my cat having had a seizure and having bitten me. She said “I don’t see any marks!” Wow! I explained to her that he had bitten me a while back and that when he had the seizure, I decided it was time to put him to sleep. The vet said he was “perfectly healthy” ok. Maybe if you ignore the fact that he had few teeth, was having trouble eating, was really thin and frail looking and had had a grand mal seizure. The other thing about her was how she handled him. She didn’t greet him or pet him. She was rough. I had driven from Albany to Oneonta to have him put to sleep because I thought I could trust Oneonta Vet Hospital. Then when she realized I was going to be trouble she sicked this office manager on me and and ended the appointment. I lived in Oneonta for 30 years. I raised my son there. I wanted to go there to have this difficult event managed by what I thought were people who would treat my cat and me with kindness.Anyway the Albany vet was lovely and gentle and helped with the difficult decision to put our cat to sleep. She greeted Snuggle and talked to him and pet him. She put him to sleep while he was lying on my lap. He was 16 years old and had been with us all of those years.I was treated at Oneonta Vet hospital with disregard and unkindness. I was challenged to prove that what I was saying about my sixteen year old family pet was true. Awful.Darwin Davis
Always great with my pets!
Great staff. All about the animals ☺️
I appreciated the caring service my dog received.
Friendly staff. Good vets. Hss domeone to stsy with snimals overtnight, emergency center
Very friendly and compassionate.
Good place for care of your animals
The only place we take our animals!
They are so kind and through
Took care of the pup very well.
Caring. Dealt with an emotional issue very well.
Will not take payments. What if you need to treat your pet but do not have all the funds? No credit cards, no Care Credit? Are you supposed to let your pet suffer??
Great and friendly staff.
Klopp

Oneonta veterinary hospital is a great place. Staff is professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Dr. Stafford and team helped us heal our dachshund’s severe back injury without surgery. Over a year later he is still going strong. We rely on OVH for all our veterinary needs.
