Petco Grooming

Great experience grooming at Petco junction. I had the pleasure of having my Australian shepherd groomed by Mayra at this location. She did a phenomenal job with him, plus her customer service skills were top notch. If you need to get you pup groomed look for her, you won’t regret it

I would never go back here! I’ve gone to Petcos in long island and never had a problem. Never any issues and everyone is so nice. I dropped my dogs off here and the check in was fine, the manager verified the coats and I verified the price with her at time of drop off. She told me it was $89 even though I’ve always paid $72 at the other Petcos at long island but I said that was fine because I needed them cut before a trip I was going on. When they called at 4pm and said they were ready we asked what time is the latest we could pick them up because I finished work at 5pm and would get there by 5:10, he said we had until 6pm to pick them up. When we arrived at 5:05pm, the girl at the desk I think her name was Karina, she said it was $220+ dollars for both dogs. I asked why and she claimed it was matting even though we made sure at check in they were not matted. Then she started getting an attitude with us saying we took too long to pick them up and she couldn’t go on break. And I explained that the guy said we could come before 6 and she said that’s not true and got upset at us. Then she rushed us out and made us feel like we did something wrong when we made sure to do everything right so it’s not a stressful experience for anyone. Don’t go here. Take the trip to Long Island. They’re nicer and have better customer service skills. Or even go to Pet Smart, never had an issue at Pet Smart. Terrible experience!

The worst grooming service ever!!! The staff is extremely impatient and rude! They left the cotton ball in my dog’s ears and brings sever psychological shadow to my dog! Now she is so afraid of the store. Never go to this store, there are numerous pet grooming services much better than this!

The groomers at Petco never failed to impress they’re kind, gentle and caring. The facilities are extremely well-maintained.

It’s a shame that this particular Petco does not cater to the grooming needs of cats.I hope that Petco will consider expanding its grooming services to include cats in the future, as it would greatly benefit many pet owners in the area.

I have been taking my two bullies to a different location, but this one at Rego Park (Junction Boulevard) was outstanding from the beginning. One of my bullies is really a bully and gave me such a hard time even before getting him into the store. All the girls so accommodating and despite his weird behavior, lol, they were able to manage him and had no complaints. Their love and dedication towards my dogs was incredible. I’ll definitely come back here from now on!

Their app states only rabies is required, however, upon arriving I was told otherwise.We unfortunately were then sent away...

Today at 3/18/34 I went to Petco for my toy poodle to get a haircut,and now I dont really like going there but last time I really liked the haircut they gave my dog. So I went there again and I showed them a photo, but they said that they dont do that here so I just told them to do whatever they think will suit my poodle better. When I got him back, his pee pee area was very red like it had blood, they also trimmed him way to much, I told them not to trim a lot. Also they said that they cleaned theeth but dont see results. They charged a lot 😔

Diane made sure I was comfortable in the cutting process considering she had some matting in her ponytail and paid attention to her comfortability on brushing. She listened we and the outcome was such a beautiful cut.

Diane was nice. Our dog is very skittish however she took a liking to Diane and calmed down when she was with her. Our Dog came out clean, no cuts, no nothing. I am very pleased with the service.

Groomers are always gentle and knowledgeable on how to treat your pet while grooming them. Great experience!

Are the groomers all “trainees”?When I showed up for an appointment with my Shih-tzu the groomer said they did not “do specific breeds cut” when I requested a trim and not to shave the upper body.Is this a new policy for Petco? Bc I’ve been grooming my dog at other Petco and never was faced with this issue.Do the groomers at this specific store only have training to “shave “ .The groomers “One style only “ sort of place?

Very unprofessional people and nasty, I made an appointment Saturday January 28 for 2.45 pm I was there in time, but the groomer was out for lunch and said that she wasn’t taking my dog because I was “ late”, the manager was not there but the store manager was aware of what was happening and do nothing, she said that need to look at the cameras but nothing happens, I call Rubi (groomer manager )on Tuesday and she acussed me of creating always problems and that once she have to refunded me money for 2 dogs grooming which never happens and was very offended because I call the groomer a liar on Saturday ( yes she was lying saying that I was late for my appointment) I did file a complaint in the investigation dpt. but today is day I never heard for any any explanations from PETCO. I assume there no actions taken about the very disrespectful employees. Don’t take your dogs there.

I took my dog for grooming end of September/2021. Three hours later I got phone call that they are not able to groom him, because he is anxious. I got him with 1/3 of the body shaved, and even the Manager did not want to help to finish the job. After this visit, my dog is really restless when we bathe him. It is really bad service, please All be careful when leave your pets there.Even one star is too much.

Our groomer Marian was excellent! She gave our dog the perfect cut and knew exactly what would be the best suited for him. Also, thanks to her she was able to help us identify our dog had an ear infection.

I took my dog to get groomed he has been groomed before at the same place with the same person 5 times before. But this time they did something bad because my dog came back NEVER THE SAME HE DOES NOT WANT TO PLAY, OR WALK BOTTH INDOORS AND OUTDOORS STAYS IN HIS BED ALL DAY IN A SITTING OR LAYING POSITION. THE MOMENT I TRY TO HELP HIM TO STAND OR HE TRIES TO STAND UP HIS TWO BACK LEGS GIVE UP ON HIM AND HE ENDS UP SITTING DOWN. He keeps covering his but area and the cut they did is too close to his skin level that he feel uncomfortable. My dog came back that day I got him groomed never the same doesn’t want to do anything he tries but he ends up whining and crying. I booked a vet appointment for him in hopes they are able to do something. And this has all been happening ever since he came back from grooming which is weird because he never has acted like this before.

I took my dog here for grooming and it was OK. Not great but OK. Whoever is in charge of scheduling your pet needs to do a better job at it. My appointment was at 12p but we didn’t see the groomer until after 2p and left around 3:45p. They did a descent job nothing to brag about. Afterwards my dog didn’t smell like shampoo or anything even tho I got the package that comes with a blueberry facial and a whole bunch of other things that should’ve left my dog smelling like a million bucks. But instead my dog smelled like nothing. I’d tell you, if you need to groom your pet in a hurry and for some reason can’t wait for someone else then yeah go ahead. But if you have the time just go somewhere else. For the price they charge you can easily have someone go to your house and do it there if not there’s this lady ( can’t remember the name ) that has a van with pink/fuchsia letters on Woodhaven Blvd. that’s reasonably priced and she comes to your house, parks outside and grooms your dog there instead of having to go out and wait here.

I picked up Max, my Maltese, after his grooming appointment yesterday and I was shocked to hear that he was aggressive during nail clipping, and that I would have to take him to a veterinarian for that service. This was actually Maxs third grooming appointment at this location and as far as I know there has never been a problem. I am seriously considering finding a place where all of his treatments can be streamlined instead of having to take him to lone location for grooming and to another for nail clipping.

Molly is just 5 months and Angelica could not have been more patient with her getting trimmed, especially her face and ears. She really did a great job. I have another appointment 6/02.

They took such great care of my pup. He seemed so happy after he was done which tells me the were great with him. He was really cleaned and smelled amazing.

My dog was very happy when I arrived to pick him up, he almost wanted to get another bath!! I could tell his experience was genuine, the staff liked his attitude too.

Shiann is the best groomer ever. I would follow her to the ends of the earth.

Mel looked and they were very accommodating. I live in Suffolk County and was visiting a friend for a few days in Queens which is why I took him to be bathed in the Rego Park Petco.

This location is way better than the Jackson heights location. The groomers took very good care of my puppy. Definitely coming back.

My dog lashes were cut uneven.

Mayra was awesome and remembered all my notes and requests. The ears, eyes, paws, and sanitary area were all cleaned and trimmed very well. The haircut was what I wanted to. My puppy seems to be in very happy and good spirits when we picked her up which let me know that Mayra must have been very gentle with her and treated her well.

When i went to go pick up my dog they brought him out and he got excited and than i told her i’m waiting on someone to pay. they immediately took my dog back inside and put him in the crate. he was upset and barking. they could’ve easily left him near me behind the gate till we paid. they blamed us to be prepared cause he was getting anxious but that was because they took him away from his owner after he saw me.also told another lady that the dogs aren’t in kennels they all playing. i do not recommend.

I am always pleased with the groomers at Petco in Rego Park. Marian has always been great with Levi! He is always excited to see the ladies and he always comes out smelling amazing and looking his best. Angelica is another great groomer and she also takes very good care of Levi when he is there.

Worst results :( i took both my dogs here and one of them got an eye ulcer and ear infection after their services. My other dog came out fine but seems like they didn’t exercise her glads like i asked them to do and they said they would do. highly disappointed. please be careful when bringing your pet here for grooming. (I called them about it and i got apprehended on the phone saying it wasn’t their fault when it was clearly obvious it was. The vet also thought it was the petco grooming service that might have caused all the damage on my poor baby🥺) please be careful.

The people there were so understanding and with so much heart. My baby was so scared and she felt right at home due to the awesome service with heart that the crew provided.

Never coming back. They added an extra charge that I was not told about and they didnt even do anything extra. Luz (thats the name on the receipt) said it was bc last time my dog got shaved she got the care package w it but my dog was not shaved this time so if she had ANY common sense she’d know there was no need for it. ALSO made me wait double the time that was said to me. I had an appt at 12, I arrived at 12:15 Luz said it would be around 2:30 hrs. Didn’t get my pet back until 4.Luz also had an attitude w my mom when my mom pointed out the time. Doesnt know how to treat customers, very unprofessional....staff doesn’t care.

In a few words... HORRIBLE....I had booked an appointment for my dog at 2PM , (they might have over booked) my dog was not checked in until 2:30 and they did not call me to pick up my dog until 6:27pm (4hrs for a 10lb Shih Tzu). I usually never complain about time or waiting as long as the job is done correctly, However my dog walked in with her cute bow (As Always) and came out with 1/4 of an Inch of hair on her head. $90 for a Horrible hair cut and 4hrs, Honestly feels like a nightmare.

Rubi, groomer, treats my dog, Sadie, very special and loves her. She always does a great job with Sadie. I have been taking her to the rego park location and to Rubi for the last 3 years. I am happy with the care and services provided everytime.
