The vets here operate a revolving door that does not allow one to form any familiarity with my pets. Seemed all of the just always stated my pet was fine until he became very ill. They then sent an email stating my pet “missed” a visit and charged me $100. I did not ever schedule an appointment. The manager Mindy stated I was no longer able to go to the practice because I disputed THEIR error. Completely unprofessional, do not bring your pet here if you want quality care!!
Im sorely disappointed with this place now! My dog was a patient for a few years until recently!I took my 7 year old female dog in for care to see why she seemed like she was overweight all of a sudden. The vet talked me into paying $250 and left with no answers besides get her spayed ASAP! Im glad my family and I decided to wait because my dog had 9 beautiful puppies in her stomach! She gave birth comfortably and safely at home due to our care! Shame on this place to take my money and make such a big deal about my dog not being spayed.I definitely wont be back!
I had started going to Bloomingrove during the pandemic with my little man Morpheus. Over time we started seeing Dr. K (Kareklas) and I loved her demeanor with him and her concern and curiosity for his wellbeing. I never felt she pushed unnecessary procedure, and I always felt that she had his best interest at heart. This is an emotionally challenging job they have, and compassion burnout is real— I experienced plenty trying to get a second opinion in case I could save my cat from cancer. But Dr. K was so gentle with him and us in our grief. I highly recommend Dr. K— she is clearly a lover of animals and an excellent veterinarian, and I am eternally grateful for all she has done for my family.
Nothing is more traumatic than a sick or dying pet. This office treated our beloved Ernie with compassion and tender care. Dr. V was honest and forthcoming in his immediate assessment of our sweet boy. Losing him was hard but Bloomingrove Veterinary Hospital was kind, honest and thorough. I would recommend them to everyone. Thank you.
Never again will i use this vet for my guinea pigs, brought my two girls there, brought Stella first when i noticed a small lump on one of them, everyone seemed nice there at first dr Amy felt and glanced over her saying she was fine and nothing to worry about…few months later my poor Stella passed away, i was never offered further testing/xray just a simple look at with no answers , Luna her sister developed some health issues while Stella was alive, hair loss on her tummy and some sort of crust on her i took her to the same vet of course only glanced over and told its nothing to worry about get injections for her ovarian cysts (had to do my own research to figure out she had this) didn’t offer any further testing to confirm, ended bringing her to a new vet that will be caring for her from now on. I cannot stress enough that this vet office is not a good one to take any pet to big or small. All this vet practice is out for is money.
We have been at this vet hospital since ~2016 and they treated both of our lovely kitties really well since then. We live in Colonie now and still choose to go here. We want to give a shout out to Dr. Miller. She has worked very hard with us on our Mushis allergy with or without the vet dermatologist in the area. She calls well after appointments to explain results of tests and in general to touch base on how things are going. She genuinely cares for our cats. We just lost our sweet Norman and she called to help us through it. We picked up his ashes today and they did a wonderful job with the fur, paw print, and wooden box. Thanks so much for being such a great Veterinary Hospital for our kitties. We are grateful for your clinic.
My daughter has a ten year old German Shepherd who is prone to skin infections. He is also rather dramatic getting his nails trimmed 😅 Dr Green and Dr Stone and the techs have been absolutely wonderful. Nova loves them as well. It is such a huge relief to know Nova is in such good hands. I highly recommend Bloomingrove.
I used to give this office 5+ stars. However, unfortunately I had to have my dog put to sleep two weeks ago. The vets and most staff were very nice. There was a staff member at the desk who, I don’t believe. has feelings for the pets or people. I was waiting to bring my dog in for euthanasia. He urinated on the floor. This staff member almost threw the cleaning supplies at me and said “ here” I was shocked!!!I can’t go to an office that allows such an uncaring person to work on their staff.
This is the best and most kind and professional group that I have ever brought my animals to. My dogs, cats and birds have been patients for years and have benefited greatly by the knowledgeable doctors and support staff. Highly recommend!
Three months prior to my dogs passing, he was brought here due to clear indications of sickness. It was written off as nothing by the vets here, I got the sense that they saw me as an over protective dog parent. I asked them to exhaust every option to figure out why my dog was in such shape. The best they did for me was a blood test where me and my family were under the impression that all cancers would be caught. The blood test came back with high levels of white blood cells and slight anemia, though this can mean many things in pets.. cancer is one that was never mentioned by the vets here. If we had detected my pets cancer, we could’ve mitigated a majority of the suffering he went through and known his life was coming to an end, rather than dealing with it suddenly as we did. Very sad that my request was not taken seriously by individuals here.
I want to Thank Jessica and Dr Amy for helping us today with our maltese. They were able to provide an antibiotic for our dog very quickly!! They were very helpful and caring, Thanks again!!
Thank you Dr. Green! You have been the best ... with Daisi Mae, Little Ziggy, Walter and Winston ... your compassion and understanding are amazing. Freyja and Atlas are lucky to have you as their doc now.
Dave Stone is a kind and warm individual who really cares for and understands the connection humans have to their pets. The staff is always warm an welcoming. I have brought my pets to Bloomingrove since they first opened and believe they offer the best service in the Capital Region!
Dr. Amy is absolutely amazing! Im very cautious when it comes to my bunny but back in February she got sick & this was the only clinic with vets that specialize in bunnies that could get her in right away. Well it was totally worth the 1/2 hour drive (my bunny hates car rides). Dr. Amy is knowledgeable, super friendly & explains everything to you in a way youll understand. My bunny ended up having a tumor & needing surgery which was scheduled quickly & went smoothly, the recovery was a little touch & go & she had me bring her back the day I called, turned out that bringing her back put her in the mindset hey Im alive I need to fight not give up & after that she made a full recovery,. Recently she developed a slight head tilt & I called to schedule an appt with Dr. Amy right away, shes now on meds & the head tilt is slowly becoming less & less. I saw a lot of bad reviews on this clinic but I have never had any of the issues named in the reviews so maybe it just depends on the Dr you see. I would definitely recommend Dr. Amy for anyone with a bunny, especially if theyre an overprotective, nonstop worrying bunny mom like me.
Every staff member I’ve encountered in 3 visits and several phone calls have been extremely kind and welcoming. I had concerns about cost and they were very understanding, plus everyone is super friendly to my pup.
We saw Dr. Miller today for a checkup and pre spay appointment. She was so amazing and sweet with my dog Trixie. She was caring and handled my dogs crazy energy so well. The nurse was also amazing. One staff member stopped by to pet Trix while we waited and was so nice. All of the front desk staff were very sweet and helpful. We love our new vet!
I have nothing but good things to say about my experience bringing my turtle here. My turtle had a medical emergency (prolapse) a few weeks ago, and Bloomingrove was able to get me an appointment for him that same morning, which is no small feat considering there are very few reptile vets around.Dr. Green was able to perform an incision/suture procedure on my turtle and he was good to go within 30 minutes or so! I was very happy with the overall experience. The prices are also very reasonable. The procedure and follow up stiches removal were $180 total. I had previously brought him to another exotic vet in the area who tried to treat the issue with no success, then gave me a list of other vets to call and charged me $255 for the appointment! Im glad Bloomingrove was on the top of the list of recommended vets they gave me.
We have brought our pets to Bloomingrove for the past 6 years and have had nothing but excellent experiences! The doctors have cared for our animals extremely well, and always explained what was going on with them in a way that was clear and easy to understand. The front desk staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!
(Edit on 12/2024: were done with them. Switched to 4Paws and couldnt be happier.) (Edit on 5/2024: we stayed due to inertia, but got stuck with THREE bandage changes on my dog.Funny, when i had a similar operation, it was one bandage change. Its all about the money, even if the vets are nice.) Be prepared to wait wait wait wait in the waiting room. Front desk staff uninterested in being helpful. Time to move on.
I’ve brought several of my reptiles as well as my cat to Bloomingrove Vet Hospital now, and each time has been incredible! It’s very hard to find a vet hospital with doctors that specialize in reptiles, and Bloomingrove has two amazing doctors that do! Each time I’ve gone in Dr. Amy and Dr. Green have been amazing. They are both super knowledgeable and passionate about what they do! I really appreciate their willingness to show and teach someone like me ways to treat certain issues at home. My latest visit was for a prolapsed hemipene in my leopard gecko, and they were able to get me in the very next day and were even able to get me in several hours before my appointment. They have incredibly friendly receptionists that help you setup the appointment over the phone and check you in while there, and I never have to wait more than a couple minutes after checking in to be seen. My gecko received incredible care from Dr. Amy! You can really see the passion she has for her job and for animals while she’s working, it’s amazing! She answered all my questions, and even showed me what to do in case he or any other gecko prolapses in the future. I highly recommend Bloomingrove Vet Hospital, your pet will receive amazing care by some incredibly knowledgeable and passionate people.
This review is for their rehab services. They have only one certified rehab tech who is highlyunprofessional, condescending, has no empathy, and will use anything you say (in an appt with the vet that tech works under ) against you and blames you for any setbacks you may be having with your pet as a result of rehab services. Theres no accountability on part of this facility. Tech works under a supposed rehab vet that works only works two days a week and if you have questions or issues there is no other vet that can help. Instead you get ridiculed by a tech. The vet offers no apology on behalf of its subordinate. This place seems to have given the tech alot of decision making authority which in my opinion is out of her scope. If you are looking for compassion and professionalism towards both animals and humans go somewhere else.
Barbara at Bloomingrove Veterinary Hospital rates A+ My poodles are groomed every 6 weeks and they always look amazing -- as a matter of fact people constantly tell me how beautiful they look. I have used many groomer in the past being the owners of poodles but Barb is far and above the best groomer Ive ever experienced. She is always kind and considerate and accommodating to any requests. The facilities are clean and comfortable for the dogs. Drop off and pick up is easy as someone is there to answer the phone, and bring the dogs out to you in a timely manner.Payment is made by credit card. Bloomingrove is the #1 place for grooming.
Dr Amy has been our trusted vet for small exotics for over a decade. Between chinchillas and rabbits, she has kept our family alive and well through many various illness and injuries.
Dr. Amy Kurowski saw my bearded dragon, Nessie, only twice, but she was the first vet to take our concerns seriously. She was the most experienced of the exotic vets we tried for Nessie, and she was the only one who gave us treatment options back in July when Nessie had a respiratory infection. Nessie unfortunately passed away over the weekend, but her time would have been cut much shorter if it weren’t for Dr. Amy. I highly recommend her for reptile care. ❤️
I have brought all of my pets to Bloomingrove since the day they opened their doors. My pets have all received such exceptional care from this very friendly and knowledgeable team of professionals. They squeeze my pets into their already busy schedules whenever they are having a problem and I always feel at ease knowing that they are in their very capable hands. I would never take any of my furry family members anywhere else.
My dog is incredibly anxious and has been through some rough things in life, the (I believe) veterinary assistant, Jasper, was amazing with her and helped keep her calm, so I wanted to individually acknowledge him for being so kind and gentle to my hectic girl. All the other vets and techs are all very compassionate and understanding. I’ve taken my dog here since I got her and have never had a bad experience. P.S. sorry if my dog stresses you guys out! But thank you so much for helping keep her healthy because she’s my world. I recommend this veterinary office to everyone.
I’ve been taking my cats here for years. Sadly the most recent visit was due to one being terminally ill. The two doctors I saw (Dr. Miller and Dr. Green) and the rest of the staff were compassionate and helpful with making sure I knew what he had, what I could do, what to expect, and how to make him as comfortable as possible for what remains of his life. They have always been a good vets office for my cats but this made me glad they are my vets.
Amazing staff, Techs and doctors. Have been using Bloomingrove for over many years. From the minute you walk in the door to when you are discharged, you and your pets are treated with respect and kindness. Even during Covid when we had to do the no contact (as with everywhere else,) they were compassionate and understanding. I would not use anywhere else for my for babies. They all go above and beyond to help. I want to say a great big thank you to everyone at Bloomingrove For being there for us.
I did not have a positive time here. Perhaps they are good with other animals, but the avian vet really rushed our appointment. She didnt do any tests or explain anything (Im a first time bird owner and just saw a different vet who was really helpful, so now I would know the appropriate questions to ask and tests to request). She wasnt going to give us medicine until I inquired (she said I could give it to him if I wanted). When a called back a few days later because he hadnt responded to the minor procedure, apparently I was supposed to have given him this medicine that she wasnt originally going to give us. It just really wasnt a positive or helpful experience and it did not feel like we had her undivided attention or genuine interest. I usually wouldnt post a negative review, but we paid good money and if other avian vets are available, perhaps try them (maybe she was just having an off day, but idk). We finally saw an entirely different veterinary hospital today and he did a quick swab to test for the exact issue and I left 30 minutes later with a diagnosis and a medication, which made it very clear to me how much Bloomingrove dropped the ball.ALSO, when my bird came back from getting his nose cleaned, one of his tail feathers was broken, which is way less than ideal.
This has been the only vet I have taken my nearly 13 year old shih tzu to for her entire life. I have had mixed experiences here based on which Dr. I see but Dr. Coger is fantastic. I am always sure to request her by name now. She is very practical, reasonable, and compassionate. Recently brought my dog in for a dental cleaning and a few extractions, I was quoted ~$1.4k for the work, but when they checked me out the bill came to ~$850, which I feel like almost never happens in any industry to be charges less than the initial estimate. Dental cleaning and extractions were done by Dr. Amy and now my dogs breath is great, and she appears to be perfectly comfortable eating all types of food again. Receptionists are always polite. They called me to check up on my dog the day after her dental work. Ive heard from friends of mine that this place is a bit pricey, but IDK I think all vets are probably pretty pricey and I think the cost is worth it for the quality care for my beloved pet.
I have great experiences with Bloomingrove. Weve been going there for at least ten years and mostly see Dr. Stone but I have confidence in every one of them. They are all so kind to my pets, knowledgeable, careful, and caring. The vet techs are terrific, the front desk staff very kind, the wait to get an appointment short. I really appreciate how much time and care Dr. Stone takes to discuss my dogs health and treatment options, and he helps me to make wise decisions and even tells me when he thinks I can save money doing things one way as opposed to another. He even went to bat for me with my pet insurance when they were denying my claims and got their decision reversed. Most of all his rapport with my pets is priceless.Definitely come here, dont go somewhere else!
Can i give 7 stars? Took my beardie in for an eye infection. Office was clean and spacious, waiting time was minimal, staff was very friendly and professional, price was reasonable/competitive, and Dr. Amy was super! Next time i am sick i am putting on a dog costume because i would rather go here than my own doctors office!!!!! 8 stars!!!
I needed a Avian Vet for my Blue Amazon Parrot a few yrs ago, the 1st vet I brought my bird to, it was a terrible experience! Needless to say I had to drive 30 miles to see this Vet. I found Bloomingrove which is about the same distance. I was very pleased finding them! I found Dr Amy to be awesome with him! He doesn’t like others so he bites, thankfully that visit she didn’t have to handle him.Today I had another issue with my bird so they got me right in which I was grateful as I was really stressed out about his illness! I was stressed also because I couldn’t go in with him, so I worried the whole time but Dr Amy called me throughout his exam so I could give her info and she let me know what was going on! I was amazed as difficult as my bird is, they were able to complete his exam. The staff was so wonderful, from the girls who answered the phones, to the Vet tech who came to the car to Dr Amy!! I love this place!! If I didn’t live so far away I would definitely bring my 3 cats and dog here!!! Thank you to the staff for being so kind while I was so stressed!!
We had to put our cat down today. The doctor was great, kind and considerate of our emotions and wellbeing. The same cannot be said for the blonde woman in the room. She had extremely long nails for a medical setting, and the most judgmental look on her face. During a time of grief and sadness, all this woman could do was make snarky looks and comments. Honestly, I don’t even know why the hell she was in the room considering she did nothing but be a jerk. If you are going to work in a setting where people grieve, try being a good person too. Do better, it’s not hard
I’ve been bringing my animals to bloomingrove for almost 10 years now, they are excited to go inside and see the staff ! Danielle at the front desk is great with scheduling so we always get to see our favorite Dr, Dr. Green. I always trust my pets are in the best of care, I would recommend to bloomingrove to all of my friends and family !
I have nothing but great things to say about the Vets and Staff at Bloomingrove. We have been bringing our pets there for 10+ years and have referred many friends and family to go there based on our experience, they go above and beyond the everyday duties of a veterinary hospital.I can specifically remember a time last year when my dog was in crisis at 10pm on a Sunday night and no local emergency vet could see her. Jessica, Delaina and Kathy were instrumental in getting my dog the care she needed. Jessica made personal phone calls to other emergency vet clinics and ultimately found a 24/7 veterinary hospital downstate that could assist, she informed them I was on my way with my dog and explained what was happening, I didnt have to speak with them once! Both Kathy and Delaina followed up with me twice the following day to check in and see how my dog was doing.Needless to say I wont bring my pets anywhere else!
They are hands down the best vet clinic I have ever had the pleasure of working with. I have 3 pups and I love the way they take care of them and treat them. Nice people who actually take care of your little one. Can’t ask for anything more, yet they offer it. I would urge anyone that has a pet to use them. They’re just that awesome. Thank you Bloomingrove. You really are the best.
The staff at the front desk is so friendly, the vet techs are great and Dr. Green is amazing. I’ve had to bring my ball pythons in on a few occasions and they’ve always been very quick with getting me into a room being sure to turn up the heat and provide a heat lamp. Dr. Green does a very good job listening to your concerns as an owner and addresses those concerns accordingly giving you multiple treatment options based off of cost, and did an amazing job showing me how to administer the medication so I didn’t have to drive 45 minutes every 3 days for 2 weeks. Highly recommend!!!!
So the vet is wonderful. The reception area could use a tad more friendliness and welcoming touch. But what I don’t understand is their insistence on still not allowing the pet owner to go in the clinic at the time of exam. We are in May 2021 and even the CDC guidelines have changed to allow less restrictive environment. They could easily ask you to wait in your car, call you when ready and have you go I directly to exam room without having to spend anytime in the waiting area. Please reconsider your approach to allow for better interaction.
I recently moved to the area and needed to find a local vet. I have a 17 year old Sheltie, sweet but quite anxious about new people and situations. The practice got her an appointment the same day I called, even though I had never brought my dog there, and Dr. Nowak took excellent care of my dog. He was gentle and thorough and put me and my dog at ease. I am pleased with the care my dog received, and am really grateful for the consideration of giving me an appointment right away. Thank you, Bloomingrove Veterinary Hospital!
My wife and I have used them for years for our dog. They have always been expensive but thats not the reason for the 1 star. Last year when we brought our small elderly dog for his annual visit the vet tech was inexperienced or didnt care to listen when I asked her to make sure not to let the dog try to jump into my car (Covid policy there dictating owners cant enter the building...tech comes to the car to pickup and return your pet.) Obviously she let him jump and he fell backwards onto his back. I was so mad. Fast forward to last week. Our little guy, 17 years old needed to be put down. So sad. I called to ask about process and availability. They were not available same day (I called first thing in the morning) and it needed to be done because he was in pain. If we were willing to let him suffer another day we were told we could only be with him outside in the freezing cold for the procedure if we were masked, 6 feet away and willing to prove vaccine status. I couldnt be more irritated with them and will not bringing any future pets here. They did give me a referral to a company that offered in-home euthanasia, that was appreciated but their policies as of late are heartless and insane.
Dr. Green was amazing in helping us work with the skin issues of our dog Dexter. We have always received timely and excellent service. Working with the Saturday Receptionist Delaina, has always been great. She is kind and helpful.
We have been bringing out pets here for over ten years and love the vets and other staff. While they arent inexpensive, I have never NOT been able to get an appointment when I need it. Unlike some other vets, they dont charge extra for emergency/same day visits. Our pets are family and we take their care very seriously. I highly recommend Bloomingrove Vet.
Dr. Green is a wonderful man, and a tremendous vet. He gave our senior dogs the best care, and because of this, they lived to 16 and 21, respectively.Dr. Green is a special person. He is humble, kind, incredibly skilled and knowledgeable, and truly one of the most compassionate people you will ever meet.
We have a 9 year old parakeet who was acting just fine however he would not put weight on his left foot and would keep it straight out rather than curled on a perch. We made an appointment with Dr. Amy. I waited in the car while she treated Dion due to Covid rules but she called me from the treatment room to discuss her findings. She diagnosed him with arthritis and prescribed an anti-inflammatory medication. Within a few days our little guy, Dion, was much improved. Dr. Amy provided excellent care and was available to answer my concerns when I called her. The staff was wonderful too. Dion is still doing great. Its not easy to find an avian vet but Im glad we found Dr. Amy and I highly recommend her.
I took my leopard gecko here for an eye infection. Everyone we dealt with was accommodating and friendly. The reptile vet, Dr. Amy, was knowledgeable and focused holistically on my gecko’s health, determining what supplements and substrate I was using in his tank. Eventually he just needed a vitamin A injection and some eye drops. I appreciated that she didn’t try to sell me products I didn’t need like a lot of vets have done to me in the past. She took the most direct route to solve the problem and left it at that. My bill turned out to be $125 for the exam, injection, and medication which was very reasonable. Definitely will be coming back in the future if we have any problems!
THE BEST!!! THANK YOU for taking such great care of our lil furbaby. The staff is great, and communicative of what theyre doing. Our guy is never stressed for his checkups and procedures. We were allowed to sit with him during the visit and they were very thorough. Thank you all for doing such wonderful work!
I have had dogs for decades, and this is the best vet practice I have ever been to. The receptionists, vet techs, and veterinarians are all caring, compassionate and professional. We have two senior dogs, one of whom requires a lot of medical attention, and I have been very happy with this practice. Our particular favorite vet is Dr John Green, who manages to solve every problem that comes up with our seniors and exhibits sensitivity and concern every step of the way. Dr. Nelson has also provided excellent care and advice for our beloved dogs, as has Dr. Coger. I frequently phone this practice with questions and the staff are always so helpful and encouraging. I find their prices for services to be very reasonable as well. I highly recommend Bloomingrove Veterinary Hospital!
If St. Francis of Assisi were to work as a Vet it would be at Bloomingrove :-) No one cares more about the animals they treat then the Docs here. They have been my Vets for over 10 years. When I lost my beloved cat two years ago, they all sent me a signed card of condolence with lovely statements about him and how much they loved him too. Their compassion is only matched by their expertise. When one of my other cats developed sores in his mouth and wasnt eating, Dr. Stone came up with the idea of first trying rinsing the mouth with cooled tea. It worked! He could just have easily tried countless expensive medications, but he is in the business of healing, not money-making. Dr. Coger is another one of their Docs who is fully supportive of holistic healing ideas and very sensitive to cost issues. When it does come to surgery or medications, they are experts and dont play guessing games. If unsure, the Docs here consult with each other so you get the best of all advice. If you love your companion animal, Bloomingrove is the place to take them when they are sick, hurt or just need an annual exam.
Shame on Bloomingrove Vet. They really are only in the industry for the money. The establishment took my Irma in for her very FIRST appointment with them in December. She had never stepped into their establishment ever before. She received a nail trim, blood work and heart guard. Little did I know, a vet tech was doing it all. As pet owners know, we are not allowed in with the dogs due to covid, so we have to rely on the Vet’s communication and organization. Fast forward to now and my poor Irma is convulsing from what I believe to be a UTI, and Bloominggrove is saying a Doctor never saw her so they can’t help her until one does. Then what was the perceived “annual” in December for?! Just a couple hundred dollar collection to file paperwork? Poor communication, disorganization, and true disregard for patient care. Sad.
Absolutely love this place. I adopted an older lab and started bringing her here from a friends recommendation. Fantastic staff! about 2 years ago she got really sick (she was old) and we tried everything we could to find out how to make her better, but it was just her time :( I was there twice in less than 24 hours and they didnt charge me for the second visit and they cried right along with me when it came time to put her down.I now have a 15 month lab pup that I bring there and he loves them as well. My boyfriend has also switched to there as well with his pit. She hates most people, but something about Dr. Greene she just absolutely loves. Hes super calm and good with her.Would recommend Bloomingrove to every one!
Please beware -- find another trusted vet. Two of our pets have died because of mishandled care by Bloomingrove! Our family has been going here for several years, and it is hit or miss on if you get a good vet or not. We have decided to stop taking our animals there because in the last 2 years, 2 of our pets (a cat and a dog) have died prematurely. Both died of causes that could have been prevented, but were misdiagnosed by Bloomingrove. Our dog died of an enlarged heart last week, as we found out later. We had been taking him every few days to Bloomingrove because we knew something was wrong but they kept telling us it was allergies, or lyme etc. The medication they gave him for these misdiagnosis likely led to even more heart issues for him.At one point, They actually charged us for an xray that would have caught the enlarged heart! We wonder if they actually ever even ran the test. If they did, they somehow missed it! We are heartbroken and hope to prevent this from happening to future pet owners by sharing our story.
I brought my dog, Maximus here on an emergency basis and am pretty sure we have found a new vet! From the initial phone call, until we walked out of the door, the service was wonderful! My 80 pound pitty Max has a broken toe and Dr. Kareklas and her assistant were so attentive and compassionate. They have a rule posted as soon as you walk in that if your dog is a barker, unruly or aggressive to call from the care - which is a great idea as my Max is a HUGE barker and it was such a relief to not have to sit and wait while he barked and barked. They were gentle yet efficient! I also believe their pricing is very fair! I will recommend to everyone I know!
Went to this vet three times and waited 30-45 minutes for each of my appointments. They also require that your pet gets TWO annual check ups rather than the standard one annual check up. So now your paying twice as much each year for something that should only be done once (~$65 each annual). If you dont care about costs, this is the vet clinic for you. They were so busy and spent so little time with me when I actually got into the room that I didnt feel the need to go back ever again after my last appointment. If you want to save time and a lot of money I would take your pets to a different facility.
I had to take my turtle here since my vet doesnt see reptiles. I am somewhat experienced with reptiles and thought he had what was becoming a respiratory infection/pneumonia. I brought him for an exam and since I wasnt allowed due to Covid, I wasnt given the opportunity to fully explain his symptoms. The doctor gave him a vitamin shot on a Thursday and told me he was suffering from a vitamin deficiency. He didnt improve over the weekend and I called first thing Monday explaining that he definitely had pneumonia and needed antibiotics ASAP. I was told I could not get any antibiotics since the doctor he saw on Thursday wasnt there and that I would have to pay for another $85 exam just to get the antibiotics. My turtle died that night. I called the next day to have the receptionists let the doctor know and I was told that they didnt know why the receptionist I spoke to Monday would tell me that Id have to pay for another exam and that wasnt their policy. Their lack of knowledge for their own business cost my turtle his life. I work at another animal hospital in the area and the things our clients have said from their experiences at Bloomingrove are awful. As someone experienced in reception, if you dont know, you ask. I regret not choosing to go to another, better hospital.
This is the best vet hospital I have been to. The staff is very pleasant and the doctors are very compassionate and genuine. I had a cryptorchid male kitten, which means he had to have a spay surgery to get one of the testicles out. Unfortunately his first surgery did not go well and they could not find it. However, they did not charge me for this surgery, suture removal, or for a couple check ups to feel his abdomen for the missing one. Dr. Stone, who I would definitely recommend, promised me that he could get it out and was successful with the second operation. I am so happy that my cat will be okay and that I did not have to pay a ton of money for this. The prices at this place are very fair compared to others I have been to and the service isnt slow. Do your pet and yourself a favor and go here.
New to the area, of course I needed a new Vet.I have had dogs all of my life, so I have been to many veterinary groups. This practice is by far the best I have ever been to. If I could give them a 10 star rating I would! The staff is caring, and really listen to you when there is any problem with your pet. I have two dogs one is five years old, and the other is five months old. Within two days they both became ill with respiratory infections. BIG thanks to Dr. Nelson and Dr. Nowak for taking such excellent care of them and for answering my million questions!!!I am a people nurse and if all people docs were as wonderful these two fur baby docs maybe people would keep up with their healthcare needs.
I brought my bunny hear for a check up. I loved the doctor, Amy Kurowski. She was very thoughtful and thorough. She answered all my questions. They seem like they care about your pet. Ilk definitely be making bloomingrove my permanent vet.
We had a GREAT experience here! Love the staff and the time they took to explain what was happening. My dog is healing quickly thanks to their wonderful care!!DR Stone went over and above to give Otis the best care! Couldnt have asked for a more compassionate vet! Strongly recommend!
The best in the area. I have been going to Dr. Stone for years and followed him from Drumm to Bloomingrove. We love him and the staff at Bloomingrove. Theyre all so friendly and really care about the animals.
My T cup poodle went here. Had his baby teeth pulled 2 days later he had to have emergency exploratory surgery 4days later he was septic and had to put him down. We have since relocated to another veternarian.
Always a pleasure, my beasts can be bold.. but always handled with courtesy and respect.. Gnocchi and Nanook always have a smile on their face when they come out.
As a licensed vet tech and professional I would not recommend this vet office. While the prices are fair, it is overcrowded and too fast paced to give your animal or you any individual attention. They charge for small services like waste disposal that should be included in the fees. The atmosphere is not conducive to aggressive or fearful dogs. The facilties while nice up front are old, out dated and poorly laid out in terms of exam room and hospital space. The vet who saw my dog barely interacted with him and did not perform any physical exam, did not look at his teeth or eyes, etc.
Just poor, overall. Communication lacking. They readily prescribe medications, but dont take the time to explain what they are treating. Vets will tell you outright that if your puppy has some poor behaviors remaining at 15 weeks, they are likely set, which is just ignorant. Not great with record keeping or uploading. Apparently their vets dont have access to uploaded records, per the manager. Not sure how that works...
I could not be more impressed with this beautiful facility. From making the appointment to the follow up phone call from them. They are courteous, caring, efficient, knowledgeable and affordable. Dr Smith and associate were professional but caring. They did a complete exam of my furbaby, made a diagnosis and provided a complete plan to carryout at home. They answered all my questions, and offered recommendations. No pressure on any medications or treatment. Purrfect!
Prices average. Dr didnt read the discharge from Hospital before talk to me. Of course didnt cover all the health issues. I dont recommend it. Due Covid customers wait in their vehicles. Customer service by phone is not friendly. This business ask to pay in advance. I did due the emergency for treatment but it is not what I would do in my first visit.
I am new to the area & this location is literally right next door. So convenience was paramount! I was raised with dogs in my home and very familiar with Labs. This is my 1st small/medium breed dog. I have a Bojack Terrier. She is 2yrs old, had her since she was approx 5months old and she has been up to date on all visits, shots & vacs. I went to the location necause she started scraching and shaking ears and would whine alot. From the 1st visit to the 2nd to this final visit I have gotten nothing but a bill and 3 different medications and my dog appears to have all the same issues and seems worse in my opinion. They have yet to even draw blood or fet a stool sample and im not interested in giving my dog different meds every couple of weeks just to try n figure out what the issue is..... Im not giving this place another dime
LOVE Bloomingrove Vet and wouldn’t take my pets anywhere else!We always feel confident that they will receive the best care possible!Thank you Bloomingrove!
Love this place! They let me bring my cat in immediately when I realized something was wrong. Dr.Hadsell was very kind during the visit, and was quickly able to determine what was wrong and get him fixed up. The staff were all helpful and understanding!
Im pleased to know that I had a amazing experience putting my old dog in Dr.Millers hands.Lincon and I appreciate all of their hard, loving care for my precious 14 ur old man.
I recently needed my stray cat to be seen for an injured leg. The staff at this Animal Hospital are Phenomenal.Polite, helpful, and very compassionate for thr animals.Highly recommended.Ty to the staff.
If you dont care about your pet or your wallet then this is the vet office for you. Receptionists are unwelcoming and down right condescending. They nickel and dime you every chance they get. They asked me to leave the exam room so they could muzzle my dog without my permission, which doesnt sit right with me. I am all for paying for top quality care, but this office does not offer it.
10/10 Wouldn’t dream of taking my cats anywhere else. We’ve been with Dr. Stone for years! You can tell the doctors are passionate and care about your animals & you.
Very friendly and understanding staff, they were able to get my cat in the same day I called as they had a free opening. They were very honest and upfront with their prices too which was nice and let me know how much everything was going to cost before they provided the service. Will be going back for sure!
I can not recommend Bloomingrove enough! I wish I could give them 10 stars. Another vet recommended a extremely aggressive surgery, I went to Bloomingrove for a second opinion the Vet at Bloomingrove took time to listen to my concerns and decided a safer treatment. My dogs recovery time was cut and half. Thank you Bloomingrove!
Our 5 year old dog Sadie was seen by 2 different doctors on 4 separate occasions to figure out what was going on with her. She was in pain and we couldn’t figure out where it was coming from. We were given multiple meds, given X-rays and multiple explanations for what it could be. Leg pain, neck pain, back pain and a possible spinal injury. This went on for about a month or so with no relief. As it turns out, she had a mass on her neck that turned out to be cancerous. My husband found this lump, not the doctors. When we called them and told them what we found, we were told to bring her in right away. On this 5th visit, we were told the mass wasn’t there at her last visit, even though it was just the week prior. We feel the doctor was just trying to cover himself for not finding it. She was then referred to a specialist for her final diagnosis. Tonsil cancer that had spread to her lymph nodes. They tried surgery and a round of Palladia but nothing worked and we had to say goodbye to her. We feel that if a proper examination was done then perhaps it would’ve been caught earlier. It was a horrible experience. Not to mention incredibly expensive. The constant upselling is annoying as well. This place definitely cares more about money than they do about the care of their patients. We will not be returning.
Dr. Green was extremely knowledgeable and actually listened to concerns that were dismissed at previous vet offices. He was very kind over the phone (I had to wait in the car due to covid restrictions) and suggested a course of action to try and figure out what is happening with my cat.I cannot give more than five stars but if I could, I would.
This is the best vet I’ve ever been to. I’m always pleasantly surprised at how less expensive it is compared to what I thought. Every single vet I’ve seen here is really great. I can almost always get seen the same day when needed. Highly recommend bringing your pet here.
We had to put our family dog down last night due to the over site of dog having liver cancer that they failed to properly test for and said the lumps on our dog were allergy pockets from licking from allergies but were actually tumors. This place should be shut down and the vets not allowed to practice medicine at all.
Although the docs are wonderful, their constant attempt to upcharge everything is disconcerting. $5 to write a prescription, $10 to discard a few hair clippings, the receptionist trying to sell me x-rays BEFORE my dog was even seen. When I stated that, she countered with how about getting his nails trimmed (he was being brought up from their groomers in the basement). Ridiculous selling techniques.
I dont even want to give one star. Dr. Novack diagnosed our 6 year terrier completely incorrect. Put him on medication for stomach issues, when really it was a blood sugar issue. Not only did he do his job wrong, Dr. Novack had the inability to return several of our phone calls when the situation got worse. Thanks to Dr. Novack we had to put down our 6 year old terrier. By the time we got him to a knowledgeable vet, it was too late. Thanks Bloomingrove
Ive been bringing all my animals to bloominggrove for many years. Great place!
I’m not really sure what’s up with the receptionists here but I had a call with one yesterday who said that we were lying about getting our cat immunized because THEY had managed to lose her records. It was so unprofessional and while the doctor is very nice, the receptionist is enough to make me uncomfortable with calling again considering how strangely aggressive she was.
This place is all about the money my cat had an ear infection they had an open appointment on Saturday the receptionist said we’ll have to charge you for a same day appointment or you can come on Monday . What let my cat suffer all weekend ? That’s a caring office . And why charge me more it was an open slot .
Dr. Stone is AMAZING! He took really good care of my cat Boots when he ended up with 3 lacerations on his foot by jumping on the fish tank & breaking the glass lid. He stitched him all up & Boots healed well! Dr. Stone has been really good with my other cats too & is very personable, compassionate, heartfelt & down to earth. All of the Staff are GREAT TOO! I highly recommend this Vetrinary Hospital!
My old lady english mastiff had a big surgery done here and they treated her so well and she healed perfectly! Love this place. Very reasonable pricing too! Thanks Doctor Nowak and staff!
Dr. Kareklas is the most considerate vet I know. Her comprehensive training in eastern and western medicine gives her a special ability to treat with broad skills and treatments that provide my animals the greatest comfort and level of care.
Been taking my pets to see Dr. Stone for over 20 years now. But if he’s not available I’ll see any of the doctors. They’re all great!
Love Dr. Stone.... everyone was kind and patient. My boy came out looking happy. Yup walked out of the VET... wagging his tail. Thank you Dr. Stone and staff.
Generally unimpressed with approach to customer service. Compared to other vets who want to serve patients this one seems uninterested in gaining clients. I’ll save a 1 star for a truly terrible visit which I avoided but I wouldn’t recommend this place just from attempting to make an appt. Seems like they’re stuck in yesteryear.
My dog went here. And ever since. Shes been back home she is boteong people wont put leash on wont take baths. This place did somthing to my dog my dog was very loveable and friendly now she is scared. Of everyone and mean do not bring your animals here. Thank you
The staff is wonderful to work with. They have gotten me in when one of animals needs to be seen. They werr even willing to see one of my ducks.
Dr. Amy and the staff got my sick pet right in and took amazing care of him. They followed up the next day to make sure he was recovering.
Dr David Stone, proprietorRefer to the 10/7/2022 UPDATE in the review of Upstate Medical for details. Dr Stone exemplifies the best in the profession.Cons: No weekend boarding
Absolutely horrible, called for them to take a wild bird that was injured and hurt would not take it and have me a fake story that they dont accept them even though I know of others that have brought wild birds here. Called twice and each time it was a different story. Clearly they dont care about the lives of animals.
These guys are simply the Best. When we moved here we started out with another Vet closer to Selkirk. They were all about maximizing the bill. These Vets are about taking care of the Pet.
The most compassionate veterinary staff Ive ever encountered. Prices are reasonable, the office is beautiful and clean. Cannot recommend enough.
Fantastic staff. Always make sure were taken care of and they give us all the time we need when we have questions or need help.
Had to go here two different times for an emergency ferret visit because my regular vet couldnt take them. Staff was great and very knowledgeable.
Dr Z was spectacular ! My wife and I were amazed by his combination of professionalism and courtesy.
My cat got sick and we had to put him down the doctor and the staff were so compassionate and caring you would have thought we were all losing a friend it you have a pet and want them treated like part of a family please bring them here weather its a mouse to a English mastiff they treat every animal like family and they dont charge you a arm and a leg they all take the time to explain everything to you based on your budget and what options you have Bloomingrove vet they care about your family members on two and four legsThank You to all the staff atBLOOMINGROVE Vets 🐕
Very disappointed with this office. I am cancelling the appointment to get my cat neutered as they “require” bloodwork which costs around $200. Obviously it’s about the money and not the pet.
This office is great. I wasnt even a client yet and had an out-of-the-ordinary issue arise with our animal, and they went out of their way to answer my questions.
This review is for Dr Zancope - He took such great care of my dog Zeus and always made follow up calls to see how he was doing. When we had to put Zeus down he even called to say how sorry he was when he heard and how great of a boy he was.
Super helpful at getting my hamsters paw injury taken care of last month. Great to know I have somewhere to go for him
This is about grooming! Horrible horrible job. First its like a dungeon you arent allowed in there. They make you call like they have something to hide doors are locked. I dropped off at 8:30am called no one answered I had work. While at work they called wanting to be paid at noon over the phone. I said I would pay when I arrived. They wanted cash! I was paying with a credit card. I got there at 3pm called to say I was paying and would be down. Stood at the door for a half hour recording the dark dungeon they had my dog in andwouldnt give me. Rang the bell twice then had to knock for my dog all on recording. They never washed or shampooed her nothing. The cut is horrible they charged me $70.00 for and she is going today to be fixed somewhere else. I have video and pictures someone should definitely investigate the groomers there is no reason to not be able to go in there to pick up our babies. I will never ever use the groomers again. They dont even deserve the one star. absolutely think something else is going on to be locked up like that and in the dark. I feel like she was left there all day and they didnt cut her till I called at 3pm to say I was there and rushed through the cut. Horrible groomers and will never use them again
Unprofessional, no bed side manners, doesnt have sound practices, and slanders other vets.
I wish there was an option for 0 stars. If you care about your animals well-being, you would be wise to take them elsewhere.
I been bringing my cats and dogs since 2019 and I love the service they get and the level of knowledge the establishment provides.
The best in the area. Compassionate and intelligent care for pets and owners. Dr. Stone and his staff are great!
Great practice , very caring, the doctors are professional and thorough , very clean . Highly recommend
Our 16 year old cat, Lila’s, arthritis is SO much better. She is herself again!
Bloomingrove has been taking care of our dog since she was a puppy, and their care is exceptional. The doctors are helpful and everyone is so kind. Highly recommend.
Thanks for all you did for our Buster! We cant thank you enough for everything! You guys are the Best!!
I brought my baby in for surgery to remove a mass by her hind leg. I was called and told specifically that the dr used an off the market medicine toreverse other used medicine and that my Charlie had been left unbreathing for an entire 5 minutes after surgery. Upon arrival to get her, i was given paperwork that SPECIFICALLY state a fur friend would NOT be allowed to leave the facility unless they could walk however, my baby couldnt even move. I was left to watch her, with no vet training. She died the next day. I reached out to the facility about her passing and received zero compassion or even an Im sorry phone call. I would absolutely not recommend this facility if your animal is part of your family and i Am currently speaking to attorneys.
DR.GREEN REVIEWI went here a few weeks ago for my bearded dragon, he seemed sick and stressed, so I thought I would bring him in and get checked. When I made the appointment, the receptionist was very nice, she even bumped me up earlier on the list so he could get seen quicker that day. When I went in for the appointment, I was seeing Dr. Green. Dr. Green started doing the exam and it was normal, until I saw how he was handling my bearded dragon. It was like he was just trying to rush the appointment. When he did the stool sample, it seemed like he was doing it a bit too rough as well. But then I found out he had parasites, so Dr. Green had to give him antibiotics to help with that. While he was giving him the medication, he grabbed him by his neck (not to where he was choking him) but my bearded dragons arms were lifted off of the ground and he was struggling a lot, to where if my bearded dragon made the wrong movement, I feel like he would’ve injured my animal. Overall, I thought he didn’t have the compassion AT ALL towards my animal, I felt like he rushed through the appointment and I feel like he didn’t have the knowledge to see my animal. I will never go back. Please bring your reptile to a different place
Awesome vets and the wait time was minimal. I wont go anywhere else from now on
Too expensive. My cat has been there patient for 17 years....called last week to have his ears looked at. Appt today, called 3 hrs before appointment to tell me unless I have proof of rabies for him they cant see him because the Dr is pregnant. Just another way to charge more for an unnecessary vaccine. And last year his cat brother was horribly ill...they gave me an appt in a week... he died
As a new client, we were seen within 48 hours of the initial call. This was impressive to me. I cant even get into my dr that quick. All the employees (dr, nurses and receptionist) were very friendly and helpful. I feared what our final bill would be as i have had negative experiences with Vets before, but it was very reasonable. Between all that and how close it is to my home, i will take my other pets here when needed.
Bloomingroove Veterinary Hospital......Shame on you! I am an elderly and 17 year client of Bloomingrove. My cat was diagnosed with kidney disease and was put on a special prescription diet made by Hills. I pleaded with the vets for a script to be sent to Chewy as I am trying to quarantine and picking up the food from Bloomingrove is difficult especially during the pandemic. The office manager told me the vets could not send the script as it was ILLEGAL! I called both Hills and Chewy and both companies told me that was not true, on the contrary, common during the pandemic. Shame on Mindy Stone for lying to me! After changing to another veterinarian, I was given the script and receive a monthly delivery to my home. This behavior from Bloomingrove not only was cruel to my cat but put my health at risk as well.
Theyve been nothing but compassionate, careful and thorough with our precious fur babies.
This is the best vet in town. The doctors are great and extremely knowledgeable. We had a dog that had health complications and no one could figure out the cause or treatment that could help. One of the vets recommended we go to a specialist vet in Latham and promised wed be in good hands and she was right. Every time we called Bloomingrove back, they always asked us how our dog was doing - which was very sweet. They even called us directly to check on her, which makes all the difference in the world.
Wonderful caring professionals. I have 3 boxers who are needy and it seems like the entire staff gives them all special attention. Hardly ever wait and we always get an appointment. The staff has seen us through a very difficult situation with my middle one with extreme patience and understanding. We feel that we are always presented with diagnosis and options.
Dr. Green was great with my snake, I would definitely recommend him to any reptile owners! My only complaint was with the facility itself. There is a lot of outside noise, sitting in a room I can hear every conversation going on outside. The reception area is also very loud, could hardly hear the receptionist.
So I brought my Jakey Bum for his first visit via a referral from a friend. Needless to say Jakey was stressed, which made me stressed. The staff at Bloomingrove from front desk to Dr. Stone were phenomenal. Ive never seen a more compassionate and loving veterinarian. Highly recommended and dont use that loosely.
Not very happy with the service I received here. Very unprofessional front staff and Mindy was very condescending.
Ive taken all my pets there and they have always been treated very well. The doctors are extremely knowledgeable. Would never go anywhere else.
Marco zancope is rude and unhelpful.
The vets and staff are amazing I really like the service my pets loved the place there fantastic
The vets are very compassionate and the staff is very friendly.
Try to upcharge you for everything. Terrible communication. Support staff is very rude.
Very disappointed went here for years
The best!! We love Dr. Green.
Great
Great team
