The Green Dog Organic Grooming

WE LOVE NICOLE AND DEBBIE AT THE GREENDOG. I have been taking my two German shepherds here since they were born! I have been to multiple groomers who have kept my dogs there for HOURS with a million other barking dogs, scared and alone. I love the green dog because they get your pets in and out! I never waited more than 2 hours for both of my dogs! They also have less anxiety than other places i have been to because they only take 1-2 dogs at a time in the shop! She also uses organic/ eco safe/ friendly products! Reasonably priced and very accommodating to you and your pets needs. 10/10 recommend.

Nicole was so wonderful in explaining to me my puppy’s grooming and hair cut needs. She was very knowledgeable and calming to my puppy, Noelle.The hair cut was amazing! I absolutely loved it!

The Green Dog is the only place I could ever trust to groom my babies. Nicole, the owner, is so caring and loving of every animal that is in her care. Her and Debbie, the other groomer at the Green dog, are both huge animal lovers, and display nothing but top tier care for their customers dogs. I brought my puppy in for his first grooming and she gave him a bath, and said she didn’t put him in the normal dryer since it could be intimidating for small/young puppies and gave him a gentle hand dry with a normal blow dryer on low heat so she didn’t scare or overwhelm him. She said he was the best puppy she’s even groomed, so well behaved and calm. I don’t think he would have been as good if I brought him anywhere else. She even said she was so excited to see him grow and couldn’t wait until she got to see him next time. Excellent customer service. I am so glad I found the green dog. Thank you Green Dog for being so amazing.

We’ve taken our dogs here for years. Nicole is very professional and truly cares about your pets. They do an amazing job on our Pomeranian and Pomchi who often get a little matted. Our senior rescue gets very scared but she is completely comfortable here. I don’t write reviews often, but we just had our dogs groomed last week and I wanted to share our experience. This place is great and they care about you and your pets.

We were great customers here. We brought our 3 dogs consistently and gave them a lot of business. Unfortunately, due to their terrible customer service we are no longer using them to groom our fur babies. First, we were late maybe once or twice to drop them off (out of our control-life happens sometimes). I texted Nicole and let her know we would be a few minutes late. It was never mentioned as an issue they had with us. Prior to our last grooming, Nicole texted me and said “I know you are usually late, but please be here on time.” We decided that was extremely rude and unprofessional as we were not “usually late” so we cancelled our appointment and never went back.Ironically, when I was early one day because I was in the area. I received an attitude. I was not rushing them. Told them to take their time, I knew I was early. Yet, that was a problem.Secondly, they don’t ever use the telephone. Everything is through text and you don’t always get a response. Maybe a few times I spoke with her on the actual phone.Also, it was so difficult to make the next grooming appointments for them. They never set it up right after the appointment you were at. There were times my dogs went longer than they should have because they did not set up appointments immediately and when I reached out it took days for her to call me or text me back. Then my dogs were way past due for a grooming.Also, they only take cash. That is highly inconvenient and suspicious.Lastly, you were never allowed inside. That is strange. We went to a new place right up the block. Customer service is wonderful and the first thing they did was show us around. So glad we decided to stop coming to the Green Dog.They are rude, unprofessional, and lack social skills. I have let all my friends and family with dogs know to stay far away from this place. I highly recommend you do so as well.

I’ve only had Nicole trim my dogs’ nails as I always bathed them myself (both of my dogs have/had black nails so I was too nervous to do them myself). My late chihuahua Dexter was always so excited to see her and get his pawdicure. My pit mix Ruthie is extremely anxious and nervous around people so I know Nicole has had a hard time with her before (Ruthie isn’t aggressive at all, just very very scared), but always remained professional and compassionate. Their nails were always clipped and rounded perfectly. The only reason I stopped going is because it became too stressful for Ruthie and I now have someone come to the house, where she is much more comfortable. I 100% recommend The Green Dog, though.

We have been going to Green Dog since our dog was 6 months old and would not think of going anywhere else. Goldendoodle grooms require extra care and experience and Nicole and Deb always do a fantastic job! They are so kind and gentle with him, explain everything they are going to do to us, and make him look (and smell) so cute and fresh! Ive also recommended them to neighbors and friends and everyone speaks so highly of them!

Only place my pup feels comfortable getting groomed. Nicoles the best

*Update 2023 - we are still using The Green Dog now since 2018! Nicole and her staff are so caring and kind. She is accommodating and very responsive. Her prices are the best compared to local groomers, even on the East End (where I reside), and the chain places. She gets them in and out timely and always does an amazing job. They care about the safety of your pets as well. We love The Green Dog! Highly recommend!2021Since Nicole took over the green dog she has been nothing short of professional, kind, courteous, and accommodating to scheduling. For Christmas she made my two dogs little personalized stockings stuffed with treats. We are so happy to have you as Rocky and Beautys groomer. You and your staff do an amazing job and deserve all the positive praise on here. :)

I absolutely love the green dog organic grooming, the owner Nicole always does such an amazing job !! My dog is very difficult and will only allow Nicole to trim her nails , the patience and care Nicole provides is outstanding! I wouldn’t let anyone else trim my Lacey’s girls nails !!!

Great experience at this place! I’ve been a returning customer for a long while. Nicole is amazing! You can tell she loves what she does and that she truly loves animals. It’s important to us that our dog is in the right hands and Nicole is very caring and professional! She always has the answers to our questions and our dog always comes out looking fantastic. The only groomer I’ll go to! I always recommend her to anyone looking for a groomer and those who have gone to Nicole after my recommendation have stayed! Thank you Green Dog!

What an amazing staff and company! Nicole is my groomer, she takes care of my handicap Pomeranian. He gets so excited when we tell him he is going to see her( I some times get jelly when I see his excitement lol) . She takes the upmost care when handling him making sure he is relaxed, calm and all his needs are meet. Nicole thank you for the amount of love and pride you put into your work!!I want to also let you all know Green dog that I value and appreciate your dedication to keeping the curve down with the protocols with COVID. Thank you for making sure every one has masks and the amount of cleaning you do to keep us and our side kicks healthy and happy!I will never take my sidekick anywhere else. Amazing experience, the groomer Nicole did such an excellent job grooming my golden doodle Dakota. Just showed her a few pictures and she nailed it! Highly recommend her and this shop they really care about your animals and treat them so well!

My dog died 3 days after her monthly grooming. She had a collapsing trachea but was 13 and otherwise healthy. We told the groomers every visit to not collar her. When James ran the place, we had no problems. February 2020 was our last appointment. For hours after her grooming, she was coughing. We gave her medicine which we used only in emergencies (and it was very very rare to use these meds). That night she didnt eat. In the morning, she would not stand up. We brought her to the Vet ER who said her trachea completely collapsed, her lungs werent doing well but otherwise her heart was healthy. We kept her overnight in an O2 box until she passed away the next day. It was heartbreaking. It was painful and it felt like she was taken from us. This was not the first time she would come back from Greendogs coughing so we didnt think much of it. (Again, we never had problems when James was there). My dog was very calm and about 20lbs. I dont know what changed but we have another pup now and we use Island Organic who is much more reliable. Hug your fluffs close and please keep an eye on whos hands you trust them in.By the way when we called to cancel the next appointment due to her untimely death, they just said ok, thanks for letting us know.

Brought my senior dog Jack there today . They did a great job and when I picked him up, he came over to me and walked right back over to his groomer. I was anxious about leaving him for the 1st time but will definitely be bringing him back! Thanks for taking good care of him and putting my mind at ease when I left time. Definitely recommend to all!

James was great. Our dog is a long haired mixed breed, who was suffering in the heat. She is not groomed regularly, and James handled her perfectly. Her hair was matted in spots and I am sure it was a difficult job. James did a great job. She is so happy and comfortable, not to mention beautiful. Thank you, James!!

James is one of the best!!! He is so patient and caring with my dog, and after trying many other groomers on long island, there is no other person Id rather take my dog to. Hes very accommodating and my shih tzu always comes back happy and looking great. I couldnt recommend him enough!

This is a really great groomer. I have a three-legged rescue pit who hates having her nails trimmed. Nicole was reassuring, accommodating, and took good care of my girl. : )

I would like to take this time to say I have been going to the Green Dog and having Nicole groom my dog for over 2 years … I have never had an issue … Nicole has always been accommodating and very respectful … I have and will continue to recommend Nicole and the Green Dog … I have tried 2 other places in the area and have not felt as confident in the staff as I do with Nicole …

Nicole has been nothing but amazing to my Frenchies. She is always accommodating for me and my boys. I have a almost 14 year old Frenchie and he loves her ❤️ 💕 💗 💓 💖

Always a great experience at this place. They do beautiful cuts and the dogs always come home smelling great. I highly recommend. I have a dog with allergies to everything and whatever they use is great for him. Very reasonably priced too.

Was great when James was here. Since he left and pandemic no one called us back for an appointment. Had to message on Instagram to get one. Wouldn’t take the dog early when we said we would come back in fifteen minutes at her appt time and they rolled their eyes and said no. So unprofessional. Miss you James they are destroying your place!

Nicole was so helpful and considerate. I appreciate her kind nature and the way she made me feel about the quality of the service I received and the benefit of the all natural products she used! Will definitely return!

My dog loves this place! She is a very anxious dog so getting her to go somewhere is a bit of a struggle but she loves the staff!

Disgusting! Ive gone to this shop for 8 plus years and today they treated me like a second class citizen. Ive never judged them but they sure did judge me today. Ill never go back to this shop again and I urge the folks that read this to not bother either. You dont treat loyal customers like that....EVER

Rude and condescending staff. Always backed up and not willing to work or be flexible with you. Treated like another $ even if your an existing customer.

Nicole is the best! Our dog doesn’t love to get groomed, but always willingly goes with Nicole and comes back to us with a clean, smooth, beautiful coat! Nicole doesn’t keep the dogs for hours on end and is reasonably priced. We struggled to find a groomer we were happy with, but when we found The Green Dog we knew we had found the right fit for us. That was 3 or 4 years ago and we’ve seen Nicole every 8 weeks or so ever since!Thank you, Nicole!!!
