I love the TMA!! 🐾Everyone is so well versed in dog behavior and balanced training. They’re always ready to give the best advice and honesty. I bring both my dogs here and they’re always so excited to go in and train. The staff makes training fun and safe. The group classes allow for proper socialization and strengthen the bond between dogs and handlers. It’s also a great place to chat with other dog minded folks or others with dogs who are struggling with behaviors such as leash-pulling or reactivity.I would absolutely recommend TMA to anyone who wants to improve their relationship with their dog, anyone who wants to socialize their dog, or anyone struggling with an unwanted behavior.Thank you 💙
My puppy and I love going to Martial ARFS! We work with Emma, Rachel and Nicole. They are patient and persistent and very knowledgeable. We see improvements in our puppy every week and have a lot of fun going to the training classes. The gym area for the dogs is big and they have a pool in the back for swimming lessons. Everyone is very helpful and caring. The team works together to make sure all of the dogs/owners have a good experience. I would highly recommend Martial ARFS!!
The exceptional care provided for my pet reflects the professionalism and dedication of the individuals employed by your organization. Your company’s reputation is truly commendable.
Martial Arfs is a great place to bring your pet! They have great dog trainers, a great facility with lots of dog training tools, and a very friendly staff. My puppy learned a lot from only 5-6 sessions. I look forward to my pup learning so much more!
Frida Panda LOVES Martial ARFS! (She gets excited as soon as she knows we’re headed there, which is blocks away). And most importantly, we get complimented for her behavior with both dogs and humans whenever we take her out with us. Thank you!!! 🐾🐼❤️
The trainers are each really invested in each dog in their group classes. I love leaving with home work, tips & strategies to implement at home. The different classes, group/ private and option to swim keep it fun & exciting for my dog and I! We look forward to earning more bandanas for our dog!
I did an evaluation session and the trainer was super helpful. My dog, Oliver, became pretty comfortable on the agility course after only one short 30 minute session.
The staff here is absolutely incredible. They are kind, passionate and knowledgable about their positions. I have had the privlege to learn quite a lot with them and we have only just begun! They work with YOU and cater to you and your dogs personally. They always know my girl when we come in and are patient and understanding with her anxious tendencies. I CANNOT reccommend this place enough to those who want to begin training or advance their previous training!
Very happy with agility training and swim. Employees are confident and knowledgeable. My 12 1/2 yo cockapoo loves and looks forward to going there
Everyone is very helpful and sweet, it feels like a community of support. My dog is very happy going and shes learning a lot which we implement at home. They are extremely patient and will always teach us different ways of training our pups. I can’t thank them enough!
You will LOVE taking your dog to Martial ARFS! I was very happy with our evaluation session. The trainer took the time needed to make an assessment of what my dog needed and come up with a strategy on how to achieve the desired results. All the reviews I have read on Martial ARFS are spot on. They are knowledgeable, experienced and very professional. I highly recommend this place for your dogs training, agility and rehabilitation needs. You will not be disappointed!!! Their facility is very clean and has all of the equipment needed for your dogs training. They get 5 stars from me.
The trainers at Martial ARFS are professional, accommodating, knowledgeable and caring. Cody loves going to his lessons, and he has only had three. The communication is simple through the website, email and app. Most importantly I see results when we continue the training at home. The facility is immaculately clean, you would never know that their business is dogs. We are looking forward to some swim lessons when the weather warms up. Cody and I both appreciate the expertise that the trainers share.
Each and everyone working at Martial art have compassion and dedication while working with any dog at their facility. Always keep the priority about the need of every furry friend.. My 14 yr old lab always gets lots of attention and love. Believe me they are the best in dealing with dog’s need.
I’ve been going for less than a year and there has been a HUGE improvement in my high energy pup. When we first started, she was an uncontrollable ball of fur destroying everything and nipping everyone. We nearly gave her away. I’m not a seasoned dog owner and our dog was very hard to manage. We started classes and then added some private classes & swimming classes. It has been a couple of months now - with a break in Aug cause my family was super busy - and she’s still high energy but we can pick her up & cuddle her (she wouldn’t let us touch her), she can walk off leash, she doesn’t try to run away and she follows commands. I think the regular classes helped more than anything. The repetition helped me to train her and it was great having teachers 2x-3x a week. They are extremely knowledgeable and trained me to train my pup. I’m adding a pict of my sweet doggo from today. She just earned her “white belt” from Martial Arfs. Would definitely recommend!
We Started Martial ARFS a couple of months ago after calling around to trainers knowledgeable and willing to work with our deaf puppy. We are NOT disappointed. Our pup is thriving here and learning so much. All of the trainers are working together, figuring out the best approach and what works best. The private and the group classes both have been wonderful and we will be continuing on for the foreseeable future! Highly recommend Martial ARFS.
Bringing my dog to the martial arfs for private sessions was one of the best things I could’ve done for her. The trainers did everything perfectly. They are genuine, warm, fun, and extremely knowledgeable. My dog loved them and I couldn’t thank them enough for such an amazing experience!!
It was great to see our pup having so much fun, the facility is nice and its a welcoming environment. Yehman was informative and so sweet! We cant wait to go back!
Living in queens, I wasn’t able to find so many training centers. When I decided to expand the search to Long Island, I found this place. At 8pm, I filled out the form on their website and nicole called me within 15 mins! I was amazed and shocked.I went there with my Dobby puppy for a eval. We were greeted by such a great team and such great prices! They have their own app which helps me keep track of my passes, their group classes and what I have coming. Can’t recommend enough!
The instructors at Martial Arf are kind and patient. Wally overcame his fear of swimming with their help🐕🦺❤️
I have purchased 16 classes to train our new puppy (10months). Based on the first few sessions, we are new to owning a dog and appreciate the professional trainers. They are patient and work with your specific needs. I recommend.
Fantastic trainers and facility. Have our older dog there for therapy needed due to injury and now taking our pup for obedience and socialization. Best on LI!
Max is a big puppy, he found the right place to learn
This is a great place to bring your dog for training. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Their love for animals is apparent and everything they do. My dog just loves going there.
I was very confident with how Jeris spoke with us about his philosophy, his staff, and very impressed with his approach, knowledge and ability to connect with my dog. He made us feel welcome, and that we were definitely in a place that will be beneficial all around. We cant wait to get started!
I was looking for hydrotherapy for my 12 yr old dog with arthritis and they told me to come for evaluation. Found the facility super clean, full of things to train dogs and the trainers were so warm and comforting. They took their time, examine my dog and recommended pool sessions. They are so good as they answered all the questions that I had and on top of that they are really good human beings that cares for furr babies in need..
Different trainers, inconsistent instruction, no real training philosophy. Waste of money. I took my 2 dogs at $65 each for 1/2 hr session and in the end spent $1000+ for a package and had different trainer every time. No progressive plan in place for the package of sessions. They literally asked ME every session what I wanted to do with them that day. I thought that was their job. Every time it was like starting over. No progress with the one issue I went for. If they tried something and it didn’t work they spent the whole time talking to me about it. Basically an indoor park for dogs. When I couldn’t go for a few weeks because one of my dogs was having joint issues and my vet said to rest her and then go back in a month or so, and when return take it easy, I called once a week for two weeks and they finally call me back with 5 days left on my package before it expires with no care about my dogs condition, they didn’t even ask how she was doing. They are selling and the sale is very aggressive and then there is no value to the sessions for the agility, focus training or any other objectives I may have had. The evaluation was to see if the dogs were “ok” enough to go to their facility. Also, when I arrived on two occasions they made me wait for the dog before us to finish and leave and cut into my time.l with no time added on the end of the visit. They are fine if you cancel but to reschedule is a problem. They said they are really busy so I need to call them everyday to check if they have opening I can get instead of having a waitlist or any communication or customer service. So I’m out $260. Different trainers, inconsistent instruction, no real training philosophy. Waste of money. You can get a doggie treadmill for your house and go to the park and you’d be more useful than this place is.
Every experience has been better than the last. Jax LOVES every trainer. He cries outside waiting for his turn.
Martial Arfs is a great experience for all dogs, in my opinion. There is a variety of activities to choose from and find what your furbaby enjoys the most. The people who work there are outstanding and LOVE what they do, which makes the experience amazing for both furbabys and parents. I wish there was a location closer, as the commute is the only reason I do not go as often as we can. The place is clean and orderly. The environment overall is amazing for all types of furbabies and their friends!!!
Ellen is a great trainer !She is very enthusiastic and I can see an improvement in my dogs’ swimming ability which is important for keeping them safe around the waterThey are Doxies and unfortunately not the most athletic but they are enjoying the swimming!
Martial Arfs Carle Place is amazing! Every trainer is knowledgeable and caring towards my dogs and me. They custom tailored a training plan to suit my 2 dogs unique issues. I see progress after every training session. They combined individual private lessons, lessons with both dogs together in their facility as well as in home training for a very thorough approach. Dont hesitate to bring your pups there!
This place is amazing! My dogs and I have been attending classes, private swim sessions, and DIY treadmill sessions for over two years now, and we have all reaped the rewards. It’s easy to schedule appointments and classes, the staff is friendly and helpful, and it’s SUPER clean (despite what another reviewer claimed). My young daughter sometimes tags along for a class or a swim appointment and they are always welcoming and generous to us. The conditioning I am able to do with my dogs at Martial Arfs has really helped me to keep them sound and active; it’s not easy to find appropriate spaces to exercise your dog fully in Nassau County. This place is a godsend!
I like the evaluation information and recommendations made based on my dogs observation. I like that the dog is evaluated and the evaluator offer different recommendations tailored to my and my dogs needs. I also like the discount offer when we decided to choose two services. I like the variety of training classes and the access to the pool in all of them!
The idea of a dog fitness center is awesome. Ive been wanting to get my dog into some kind of dog sport to keep her active and stimulated. I had high hopes for this place, but its just not the right one. I should have listened to my dog because she has never been so nervous before.I forgot my treats and I was asked to grab a bag off the wall. I almost did, but then I realized it wasnt free. Of course I didnt because I didnt want to pay for a bag of treats I didnt need and I did already pay 30 dollars for an evaluation. Ive been to obedience classes as well as behavioral and even though asked me to bring treats, they still shared if I forgot. I understand dogs do have food allergies , but it wouldnt hurt to lend some treats if someone needed. Keep different flavors in separate glass jars if you have to.The stress test with the guy putting on a unicorn mask on and approaching my dog actually stressed her out. She still ended up barking when the guy was not even wearing the mask. Because of this experience, my dog wasnt acting the same as usual the rest of the day and the next day. I noticed she is also more wary of strangers. If I got anything out of this evaluation, its that my dog needs a confidence boost. And in the end, I was told about packages that started at about 400 dollars. I was honestly not sold enough and one reason I went in for the evaluation was because I thought you could get individual classes. Not everyone wants to drop that much money at once. Way too expensive for what it is, as well.
When the staff greeted us they made us feel welcomed and comfortable. Emma was very professional and listened to all my concerns. She impressed me with her training knowledge and made me feel confident she could help my dog.
Our dog loves going here! I love that how they have such strict rules about the dogs going their business outside! You wouldn’t even know the facility is dedicated to dogs! Our doggy day care place smells just like one but not ARFS. For my dog to be able to walk directly through the facility to the pool without having to stop and sniff is amazing! She started there about a year ago and has developed beautifully. She has been able to master so many important behaviors. From zero recall to most of the time including outside in the park pleases us to no end. She rarely barks and has gotten out of the habit of nipping at strangers’ legs- our postal delivery folks are quite happy about that! With the innate behaviors we cherish brought to the forefront, our little pup blossomed in her second year.We look forward to her doing more advanced classes! Thanks to Yeman, she is thriving and loves her training time!
I have been there before for classes and swimming this will be my third time always happy with services and staff and over years have recommended the place to many people Wonderful place to bring your pets for learning and exercise!!
Great facility! Passionate staff do very specialized, very hands-on work that makes a real difference for the doggos. Find them on Instagram for pics and videos @martialarfs REQUEST YEMAN TAM- BEST TRAINER THERE EVER WAS
My dog loves coming to swim. They have been very accommodating for all of his issues. I see so much improvement in his injured leg since he started swimming. The trainers are great with him and make it fun.
Martial Arfs is a wonderful place! The staff is professional, understanding and so knowledgeable. They are flexible and work with each family and dog individually. Our dog was injured and unable to bear weight on his hind limb for 3 weeks prior to coming to Martial Arfs. They tailored a specific program for him and in a couple months time he was not only healed but was also better behaved. He is now in group classes and has benefited more that you can imagine. The facility is clean and safe and each staff member is amazing!
Our trainer for Private sessions did a very good job on our first dog. When we scheduled the following sessions for our second dog, the group sessions were weak. We were not able to use the app to schedule the sessions, it just didnt work. We were given an extension until March but was told after the fact that it only applied to one dog. Its absolutely ridiculous. Read up on these reviews. I am not the first to get stabbed by these people. Its unfortunate because the real losers here are the dogs. If you have dispensable income then this place is for you. The private personal trainer is worth it. Group classes are a waste of time and proven waste of money
We have been coming here for pool sessions for our senior dog who broke his back, and obedience, general training, and agility for our other dogs. They love it so much that it makes the long drive through traffic worth it. Jeris, Yeman, and their team are really great and I love how knowledgeable, firm, yet gentle, and proactive they are. Highly recommend!
We did a swim evaluation and the instructor told us it wasnt necessary to have my dog wear her life vest which I had brought. As a result, she wasnt confident. I feel like this was a ploy to sell us a swim package because clearly she wasnt confident enough without the life vest. Im a multi dog sport competitor, and all my dock diving friends told me she absolutely should have worn her life vest for confidence her first time in the water. And these are from handlers whose dogs hold masters titles. I drove an hour each way for ten minutes in the pool for my dog to be anxious. I was not pleased.
I really feel that both Apollo and I are learning from each lesson. Before and after the session.
Rip off. Won’t provide services I paid for and won’t issue refund.Don’t bring your dog here if you would actually like your dog to receive quality training.I purchased their largest group training package and the largest one on one training package. To date my dog was never allowed to attend group lessons and they have not taught my dog a single thing in one on one training. My dog has only learned from what I teach him at home. The idea of this business is excellent but they do not care about their customers. They also will NOT return your money even if you have not used the sessions. I have tried to be amicable and work with the terms of the business however they have done nothing to make things right. They will not issue a refund for the unused sessions and they have practically wiped out most of the sessions I paid for without me using them. I acknowledge if I was late for a session or had to reschedule then that session is lost and am fine with that but they have taken away way more sessions than that and also to this day will not refund my money or schedule a session. They respond saying they welcome me and my dog to come back but they have not reached out to me.I would not recommend this business to anyone looking for a real training facility. If you want your dog to have expensive playtime where they learn nothing then go for it. It’s similar to taking your dog to the dog park with workout equipment. Do not expect your dog to learn obedience aside from what you teach him at home or with other trainers. They do not even reinforce what you have already taught your pet. Also expect that if they are wrong they will not take accountability.Worst training experience ever!
I was able to observe another dog who obviously had been training and was following various commands, so I was impressed. The short time that my dog was there, he responded positively to the commands given, so I felt there was hope.
With an excellent staff and facility, Martial ARFS is a wonderful place for dogs to come, whether it’s to learn obedience or rehab after an injury. Our Vet recommended Martial ARFS for obedience when Buster was a puppy. He participated in a group class that was specifically geared towards a younger dog who needs training on specific commands and behaviors. Buster is five now and we brought him back to Martial ARFS for therapy when he tore his ACL. Once again, the professional and knowledgeable staff have created an individual program to help him strengthen and heal. From floor exercises to swimming, Buster has healed so nicely. Furthermore, he enjoys coming to Martial ARFS.All in all, everything is excellent! I highly recommend Martial ARFS.
Very unique facility for dog training. Confidence classes, tricks, agility and more. My dog has fear issues but has warmed up to the private lesson instructor Cassie. Agility course is indoors and small but fun for the non professional dogs. Its a great way to bond with your pet and build confidence and training at the same time.
Excellent experience!! This center is a very unique concept! The dogs not only receive positive training, they gain muscle tone through exercise during their training. My dog and I have been attending classes for the past year and his development is astounding! From an insecure puppy, who was afraid of the equipment, he has become a strong, confident dog who loves to attend class, as well as perform the tasks that are required. Each dog is evaluated prior to attending classes, so the dogs are in a safe environment with other dogs. As the dog progresses through each level of the class, they receive belts in the form of bandanas - ie: white belt, yellow belt, etc.The owner and staff are not only knowledgeable, they are patient and kind while training the owner as well as the dog! Each class is a total hands-on experience, allowing each owner to work with their dog while being directed by the instructor. It is amazing how immaculately clean the facility is!Martial Arfs is the PERFECT place to safely allow your pet to train and obey commands in the presence of other dogs!
Yeman Tam was knowledgeable and great at explaining the reasoning behind each step of the training. She made it fun for both my dog and me. We are doing one on one sessions because my dog is reactive to other dogs.Today, Yeman showed me how to address this when I’m out walking with my dog. Because the sessions are half an hour, it feels like the time flies but it really helps to keep me and my dog focused as well as preventing overwhelm. Looking forward to our next session.
So I went to this place desperate, since my rescue dog has trust and aggression issues. I bought the most expensive package and really tried to keep my appointments. From my end, I admit I have a lot going on and did have issues keeping certain appointments but on their end, they have been completely unreliable making and keeping appointment slots for us. They do everything through email and if you don’t respond immediately then you miss the slot they offer. They do have a nice facility and knowledgeable staff but I agree with another reviewer, that they are completely “not forgiving” with making or rescheduling appointments. If you have a regular dog to bring to scheduled classes then this place will work for you but if you have a challenging dog, sick family members and perhaps a bad luck streak for whatever reason then you should run, faster than your dog away from this place. They will shame you and blame you for not responding to them immediately about appointments and you will be left with no options. Again, if you have typical circumstances then this place might work with you but I have a mother with dementia who almost died of Covid and a son on the autism spectrum and they refused to correspond with me via text for easier, faster communication and continue to cancel out session slots if I don’t respond to them within minutes. I have 12 sessions left and looking to double up to 6 more sessions to finish my package. I’m so desperate that I offered to buy some more sessions just to get things rolling along but my feeling is that they are hoping I walk away and chalk up all that money I spent. I hope they see my review and turn things around with us. If they do, I will gladly update this review and hopefully have some great experiences to share but Im not walking away. We can go back and forth until I drop dead, which I’m sure they are hoping I do, until I use those 6 double sessions.~Stefanie aka Tamar
There is no structure or plan for my dog. Each time we go in its starting from scratch with a new trainer. There is no plan or check for improvement week over week. while my dog definitely has fun there, I dont think its worth the price. Ill be using up the package I was pressured to buy and will not be returning or recommending.
Worked with owner for initial appointment. He was super thorough and really helpful. We also worked with others in the pool they were great with dog who loved it. Going back next week
I already recommended you to two puppy owners. There is no place like Martial Arfs for dogs!! I call it my doggie gym. It even has treadmills and a pool!! Ive looked in Queens closer to my home and nothing compares. I’m rejoining Martial Arfs to give my 13 y/o Shepard/American Staffy mix mental stimulation and keep muscle strength.
Martial Arfs is great! Kona always has a spectacular time-- she has grown to love the agility course! She learns new skills, gains confidence and is challenged throughout her lessons. She is even starting to like swimming. All of the trainers and staff are great.
I have been going to Martial Arfs since April of this year. I have found the trainers to be very professional, friendly and helpful. Bailey has been going on the treadmill and swimming every week. She absolutely loves all of the trainers! Bailey got her white belt last night! I was such a proud fur mama!Laura
Best facility for dogs that can exist on Long Island and New York. Couldnt be happier. The staff, trainers, and facility are absolutely phenomenal and I have absolutely no complaints whatsoever... Just the highest praise for this place. Come see what a terrific and unique place this is because you will agree from the staff to the equipment to the entire facility...that this place has it all!! Even your pup will certainly be pleased!!This is absolutely the most amazing dog training and fitness center. It has the most up-to-date equipment and the place is immaculate. The facility is kept clean and even in the rare occurrences that a pup has an accident, the remnants are cleaned up immediately so not even your dog with its keen sense of smell can tell that another dog was there.Martial Arfs have phenomenal trainers who will help you right from the first time you call. All trainers are extremely professional, well-skilled, and knowledgeable to handle every kind of situation. They always have a smile and a friendly personality, and will go way beyond the scope of their job to make sure you have a pleasant experience. They not only engage your dog to make them as active and participatory as possible, but they try to make you as the owner as included in the process as well. They really relate well to all dogs and all dogs seem to be attached to them. I know my dog, Scooby, who was really terrified of all people and didnt go by anybody really became bonded to these trainers and every time we show up at the fitness center, he screams and whelps when he sees it or the trainers because he is so attached to them. I have never been more pleased and happy to see my dog branch out his wings and not be so isolated and terrified. I am so ecstatic to see Scooby, and for him not to be so afraid when he does all the fitness, agility, tricks, and core/balance training.Martial Arfs is a training and fitness center that has it all. Not only does it have obedience training, but it has agility, a pool and more. It offers both private and group classes. There is nothing that you cant find at Martial Arfs. You can tailor your private lessons to anything that you desire such as obedience, agility, pool, fitness, etc. Or you can join classes that are held in small groups that represent the best in agility, fitness, obedience, and disc dog training for your dog. Each class incorporates exercises and activities categorized by their effectiveness at achieving the principles of a particular class. There are over 15 classes to choose from. All agility classes are given on real competitive regulation agility equipment that you see in competitions.I have never been more pleased with going to Martial Arfs. Scooby takes advantage of all that the facility has to offer, as he runs the treadmill for fitness, swims in the pool, does agility on competition equipment, performs tricks, and does balance/core training. I have seen a great difference since joining Martial Arfs both emotionally and physically with Scooby. His personality has blossomed and he is very fit. He is able to keep in shape and by him going to Martial Arfs, I am also keeping in shape because since they get you involved, not only do they make the dog work, but you get a workout too.No other place is like Martial Arfs. It not only has top-notch trainers and equipment, but there is also a veterinary advisor on staff. The veterinary advisor also performs classes such as First Aid and CPR-training that you can enroll in so that you can always be prepared for those emergencies for your pet. She will teach life-saving first-aid techniques.Martial Arfs also has a retail shop where you can buy treats, toys, fitness tools, etc.Everything that you can desire for your pup can be found at Martial Arfs. You wont be disappointed by coming to this facility. This is absolutely the BEST facility for canine conditioning, obedience, exercise, and better health. Come to Martial Arfs because this is absolutely the #1 place to be. I highly recommend this place with 5 plus stars.
Ziggy and I love this place. The staff here is amazing. My dog has learned so much here. All the group classes are great. Now with COVID we get private sessions. Temp checks and sanitize station at the door. I can go on and on about how much I love this place. It is a gem.
THIS PLACE IS UNPROFESSIONAL AND DOES NOT HAVE ANY CUSTOMER SERVICE . !!So I purchased 12 sessions with Martial Arfs which cost $360. Within the upcoming weeks the coronavirus pandemic started and the facility closed down . During the pandemic apparently my 12 sessions expired. I wasn’t able to collect a refund nor was I able to receive my sessions back. I only went to 2 training sessions . Which I really didn’t like . The trainers don’t pay attention to your dog. They try to get YOU to tell your dog to do something and leave you on your own. Then they talk among themselves or with certain individuals about nonsense . If you look at previous reviews with low rating you’ll notice the same Complaints . PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE . !! THE SERVICES I PAID FOR WERE NEVER RECEIVED. BTW this Business is not accredited by the BBB.
I scored you a 10 because as usual Martial Arfs is a warm welcoming place for my dog. With caring and experienced trainers. We love attending your classes!
Great place! It has provided such an outlet for my dog in the winter months, improving her obedience and behavior. The trainers are very knowledgeable and friendly. My dog and I love it there and highly recommend them to everyone :)
Worst experience we could have ever had.We were part of a group that had a meet up for our dogs, maybe 10-15 of them and had reserved the space for just our party. Seemed like a great idea at the time. Ooops, not so much.First we have to fill out a ton of questions in an online form, then when we get to the facility, we have to fill our yet more paperwork. Because of all the paperwork, we didnt get started until 20 min. past our scheduled time. The way it works if that all of the pups have to have their paperwork done before any pups can have play time. Which is just ludicrous. Why the pups that are done, cant start to play on thier own, is beyond me. When we asked why we were not given extra time, in that we were not allowed to start on time, although about 5 or 6 dogs were ready to go at the scheduled time, we were told they all have to be done at the same time before anyone can start. That was issue one.Issue two is a huge one. As you can see in the pictures, the floor is covered in rubber, interlocking matting. It has cracks and tears and holes made by the many dogs that have used it. There are also small gaps where the rubber locks together like a jigsaw puzzle. The reason this is important is that THEY CHARGE A $3 PER INCIDENT FEE IF YOU PUP PEES OR POOPS ON THE MATT!!!! They say that they mop and clean the facility daily, but no amount of cleaning, or mopping, will get the smell of pee our of the countless crevices in that floor. Not to mention the walls. If they are cleaning that place every night as thoroughly as they say, why are there drip marks all along the bottom of the walls, where its fairly obvious dogs have peed consistently? What ends up happening is that pups pee where other pups have peed before them. Its what they do.One person in our group has about 3 incidents!!! The pup was 6 MONTHS OLD!! What would you expect? Thats about $10 ON TOP OF THE $25/DOG HE PAID TO JUST GET IN!! Its ludicrous. Many people were so concerned about the peeing that the pups couldnt even really enjoy themselves. During the entire, 40 min. since we were not given the full the hour, we were constantly shadowed by an employee who did nothing the entire night, but mark down the pups that peed and then charged the credit card that you had to have on file $3 each time it happened!!! No client interaction, no lets set up some toys for them to play with, not would you like to try this or that, maybe a simple agility course to play with, maybe a large rubber ball, something ANYTHING to justify the $25 fee, plus $3 pee fee. But no. All she did was watch, mark and charge. It was the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen.If you are silly enough to put down a rubber floor, you should not count on your clients to pay to clean it.These were not dogs that had to go potty. These were dogs that were marking a spot. Why was that? Because it cant be properly cleaned!!!!!! They refused to admit that!!I will never go back here and will never recommend anyone else to go there. They seemed much more concerned with pups peeing than actually enjoying themselves and maybe gaining biz from it.This place, in my opinion should be avoided at all cost.
My dog loves to go here. If I say school around my dog he flips out and thinks we are going. The staff are great and have a real passion for helping dogs and owners. Definitely recommend this school for training you dog.
The trainers are friendly, knowledgeable, encouraging and supportive. They work closely with you to achieve the type training you want. I recommend them to anybody who has a dog that they want focused and calm in many type of environments
Rachel is great. I feel like she really understands our goals for Shea. She gave us homework to help us enforce what she was teaching him. And I think that Shea really enjoys his time with her. Looking forward to more lessons! Thank you.
I fell in love with Martial arfs the moment I walked in. Its has a lovely environment, friendly and caring staff and best of all I got immediate results on day one! I am excited for my puppys progress.
My dog has hip dysplasia and arthritis and the sessions have truly been so helpful! Bonus is that he really enjoys the sessions and leaves very enriched. The staff is amazing, patient & knowledgeable. Def recommend this both to bond with your dog as well as improve their overall health!
I was a former martial arfs client several years ago with a young pup who has since been trained. I recently adopted a rescue dog and a trainer that we tried to work with gave us a very stark outcome of what to expect with our new adoptee. We were devastated and came to martial arts for a consult/second opinion. The staff that helped us on the date we arrived to get information were very sincere and it really felt like they had a genuine concern and understanding of what we were going through. When we came for our evaluation the next day Jeris took a great deal of care with us and our adoptee. I felt that he really could sense how much we wanted to help our adopted pup. He shed a lot of light on our situation and when it came down to it, we asked him very plainly if this venture was a lost cause. He reassured us that our pup was not beyond help. The feeling that gave me was almost too much to contain. I look forward to working with Jeris and the staff at martial arts because they gave us hope that end goal is not the removal of the money from my bank account, but the successful training of our dog. For that, I am grateful and would recommend them just based off of that single experience alone.
Love this place! It’s a very clean facility. The trainers are very knowledgeable about various breeds and training techniques. Plus my dog comes out happy and exhausted.
We have been going to Martial Arfs for about 2 years now. I love the workout my dog gets. Recently I was advised that his weight was a little high so the trainers worked with me to modify his diet and adjust his work out to facilitate weight loss. So far he is down about 4 pounds.
My pup went for ACL rehab. The team was knowledgeable, helpful, and my dog had a fun time.
Emma is very patient with both of us, Seamus loves her, and shes very knowledgeable. Very grateful that she helps me get him down the steps to the car since I have knee problems. I’m seeing progress with his behavior and walking skills.
Best trainers, weve had 3-4 different trainers for Artemis and all were patient and flexible with us, our learning curve, and most importantly with Artemis stubbornness
Their trainers are super friendly and helpful to all levels of dog owners! The agility classes are a blast for my dog and me.
We were talking to train her about setting up next class and potty training for our pup and they rushed us out because they had another class which I thought was so rude. They didn’t even start private class on time.
I love this place. My puppy cant get enough of it. He has fun, while learning and has even lost weight in the process. I travel 30 minutes to The Martial Arfs because it is so worth it.
All of the trainers, especially Ellen, are great and patient and really care for our dog.
Best discovery for my dog. This place is awesome, the dog trainers are the best. My dog gets the right excercise, agility, obedience & much more from this center. Love you guys.
Excellent staff. They were so sweet and understanding with Bella and all her special needs. We loved everyone
My dog seemed very happy to go in.
Im impressed so far, but really just starting dog training. Its really more like training dog owners on how to train their dogs. If it works out longer term, Ill up my rating to five stars.
Nicole loves dogs and enjoys what she does. She is very patient and sweet to Ella (my dog).
I am about this place, looking forward to coming back.
Attentive and knowledgeable staff that listens and helps you through any issues you might be having in training your pup.
The staff were incredibly loving with my 16 year old dog. Its clear how much they care about animals. I would recommend them to all my friends and family for their fur babies
Since starting private lessons at Martial Arfs, my 7 year old dog is more athletic, confident, and energetic. Hes learned new tricks and skills and even went swimming! He seems like a happier dog and it makes me happy to see him happy!
This is my second go around with Martial Arfs and I havent been disappointed. I have met with multiple trainers at Martial Arfs and they are all knowledgeable and friendly.
Great start to a program for our 4 month old Chesapeake Bay retrieverLots of guidance on behavior modificationAll great trainers
Attentive knowledgeable staff who listen to my concernsRachel is very good at explaining what I need to do to change my dogs behavior
Hidden gem in NYC. Great staff, very fun place to take your dogs for a nice workout
The staff that I encountered during my dogs evaluation were engaged, knowledgeable and friendly. #JOjO #MOjo #Catahoula
The attention and the one-on-one interaction with the dog was fantastic. Loved the thought and care that went into the session!
The instructors here know dogs! They are kind, patient, and knowledgeable.
My dog and I love this place!!! The staff and owner are all amazing.
I was extremely pleased with Rachael on my first session. I saw my dog do things she’s never done before.
Nice staff. My dog didnt get what we hoped out of it, but she did make improvements.
Great trainers who love dogs - my Brooklyn loves coming here!
The owner was so nice to my dog and seemed so knowledgeable
We had so much fun! Our instruction was personalized and we learned so much. Fun continues at home as we work on our homework assignment.
Very positive experience. The staff was pleasant and knowledgeable and took the time to listen.
Staff are amazing. My pups love them.
The staff is always so friendly and so knowledgeable. Shane always has a great time and so do I!
Nice place bu kinda pricey, and then left my dogs treats behind. Oh well. Very friendly people.
The staff is so welcoming and patient. Weve been going for a few weeks and already see positive behavior developments in our dog! The app is easy to use and makes it easy to find a class that works for us.
Knowledgeable and caring staff.
Much fun, great staff. Dogs learn quickly in a supportive environment.
You are professionals and really help the dogs . I was very satisfied
Best in class dog training - our young puppy was incredibly timid and we needed help making sure he was getting socialized properly and trained well. Weve been doing private training and group classes since March 2022 and have learned so much. The staff is incredibly helpful and knowledgable
My 6 month old puppy is easily distracted, and nervous when near unknown people, we came in for an evaluation, great service, explained thoroughly what we need to work on to make my puppy into a well behaved, confident dog. I’m excited to see what’s to come !
The service is great. They have really helped my dog with therapy and helped my other dog to be much more comfortable in the water.
My dog absolutely LOVES coming to Martial Arfs (and so do I). The trainers are extremely knowledgeable and are great at creating a safe learning environment for all pups and pup parents. My dog has attended group classes as well as a swim lesson and we have had a very positive experience with both. I highly recommend Martial Arfs to anyone looking for a fun, challenging activity for their fur baby to do!
My dogs and I absolutely adore this place. It has hands down the best trainers I have ever met. Not only are they extremely qualified, knowledgeable, and passionate about what they do, but they are so patient and caring as well. Their setup is unique in that their classes are more revolved around discipline and focus rather than play, so the dogs are able to concentrate and build strong bonds with their owners. The facility is super clean and the classes are very fun and informative for both dogs and humans! We highly recommend Martial Arfs and are grateful we found them!
They were so patient with my dog. He loves it here.
The knowledge that this staff brings is beyond amazing. I am new to owning a dog and the staff at Martial ARFS has been instrumental in helping me as well as Ike get acclimated!
The facility is misleading and misrepresentation of their services. Be caution. Discriminatory and unprofessional as well in how they handle things. Only interested in pressuring prospective clients to purchase packages.
Cool facility, but turning a profit is DEFINITELY their priority. A swimming pool is unique, but your money would be better spent with a dedicated trainer who is invested in your dog’s progress. If you don’t believe me, bring your dog in for an evaluation and see if the trainer talks about anything other than their various training packages. Keep in mind this sales pitch will cost you $30 ;)
Nice and knowledgeable trainers but DO NOT invest the $$$ in a package unless you are 1000% sure you can use in the allotted time. They are very unforgiving of any life circumstances. I am out well over $400 that I will never see again and my dog wont get training for.
Great staff, best dog rehab and training highly recommended
Everyone there is friendly and helpful and River loves them all.
IYA has learned so much! Shes a better puppy!
Martial Arfs have been a blessing to find. Everyone there is friendly, knowledgeable and willing to help. This is a fantastic place to bring your dog!
Very kind staff, work closely with you and your dog.
Buyer beware. Do not bring your pets here. You will regret it.
This place is good if you have a high energy, well trained dog, live in a small space, and need a way to burn energy.I bought the smallest package 12 sessions for $360. The classes are set up like general group exercise classes with flashy equipment. I found the classes very boring and repetitive. The instructors are nice but just roam around the room shouting general directions. They do not help you when you are struggling. They just shout random things like “good job spot”. I struggled multiple times and needed help. I would look up and the trainers were usually staring at their tablet. If I did get help, it would be a quick pointer and before I got a chance to try it out, they would be moving onto next skill. They spent 2 minutes on each skill and kept chugging along.I took my puppy here and would rather take my pup to petco. Just throw skills at you and then have puppies risking injury on agility equipment. Saw a 3 lb Yorker being forced up a 5 foot tall a frAme.The prices per session are more than other dog training classes where is a 6 week progressive sequence. I did these with my other puppy a few years ago with great results. As a health and fitness professional, I would not try to teach someone how to squat or do a push-up by placing on the most unstable surface to start. I see in theory What they are trying to sell and can be part of a comprehensive program, but not as a focal point.Basically a gimic facility.
Love the personalized training and swimming lessons!
We heard about this place at the dog park, the best place for recommendations. The person told us about a place our dog could go swimming and I had to investigate! We set up an appointment with Sophia and we’ve been going there regularly ever since. At first, Gracie did not like her trainer, Sophia. But Sophia use the patience and skill to bond with Gracie. Soon Gracie look forward to her sessions with Sophia.Gracie has blossomed since going to Arfs. She was able to prepare and recovering from her knee surgery thanks to the activities she does at Arfs, swimming in particular. After her recovery from surgery, Gracie has branched out to some of the other classes and takes private lessons with Yeeman.Yeeman engages greasy in a variety activities including your favorite, Swimming. Yeeman is a talented trainer who can get Gracie to listen and behave. It helps that Gracie is in love with Yeeman and her gentle but firm touch. My dog is a bit fickle when it comes to people so having her establish a loving relation with Yeman allows her confidence to develop as well! She has helped develop her agility and kept her weight off. Gracie likes to eat so if she doesn’t get a lot of exercise, she’s in trouble. We are grateful for all the help we got at Arfs.
Friendly, clean, accommodating & so many different classes to try. Been going here for 3 to 4 years!
They give us and my puppy the direction she needs
The staff is extremely friendly.
Trainers are very patient, friendly and professional
Love the dedication and focus of the staff
Friendly knowledgeable and patient staff
The trainers take a real interest in your dog.
Not very helpful, kind of rude. Didnt call me back.
Great service but very expensive
Everyone is so helpful and friendly.
Excellent
