Canine Cleaners

We have been going here for many, many years. This is our 4th dog being groomed here. As a matter of fact, we got our Cooper through them when someone was looking for a new home for him. We had lost our Smokey a few months before. Debbie called & asked if we were getting another dog. We did not intend to but when we saw Cooper we couldn’t resist. He is the best boy who brings so much joy & happiness to us. They are the very best groomers! They are like family to us. I thank God for them & how kind & loving they are to our boy!!!

Really disheartening to have to share this experience but I feel it necessary. The owner refuses to groom new clients and will not work on big dogs. The cost of dog groomers now a days is crazy and to find one you trust is a lot of work and time consuming. We recently welcomed a new addition to our family and our at home grooming routine has been lacking. So when I called in hopes to make an appointment I was met with resistance and a persistent attitude to not be served. She wouldnt even consider it. Im writing this post to warn NEW CUSTOMERS & BIG DOG OWNERS TO NOT COME HERE. DONT EVEN TRY.

We brought in our 2 small and medium dogs for a simple nail clipping. My oldest (6 year old), medium sized dog is very anxious and scared. He made a nervous bowel movement on the table and the ladies working there were very rude about it. They made him sit in it and then didn’t even bother to clean his rear end. She gave him back to us with a dirty bum and back. We will not be returning here.

It took a week to write this to get over the shock. My sheepdog went for the 1st time at 10 years old because he is really starting to suffer with hind leg arthritis and they were highly recommended after my previous groomer retired .He was terrible there and obviously in pain and never acted that way before, ungroomable, biting, jerking, it was terrible.They called me back to either take him home or help them get the job done, which he so desperately needed. They had me muzzle him which had to be,his paws were so filled with hair he was sliding everywhere. I kept putting grooming off to give this new arthritis shot a chance to work but it’s not working.Words cannot describe how compassionate and concerned they were in the worst circumstances. I was blown away that I was ready to give up but they knew how important it was to get the job done.I highly recommend them to trust your pet in their hands I must add every other client that walked in to leave their dog raved to me that he would be fine in their hands. Thanks again for all you did ladies!

Allie & Debbie go out of their way to do an amazing groom each time. We go every four weeks and they treat our Martha so sweetly. I highly recommend them.

They do a great job grooming.... but customer service sucks.... the need to learn how to talk to people..... my dog is my family member.... not my car dropping off to get service

Today I had my dog Mr. Pico groomed for the first time. He looks and smells delicious, These women are so nice and you can see how much they love our furry guys. He was not stressed at all when i picked him up. He came out with a little bandana around his neck and a toy for being a first time client. How very sweet!! We will be going back definitely!

After 20 years of using Canine Cleaners, 3 dogs, 2 bearded collies and one rescue, we have parted ways. I have recommended them to many people. I recently got another bearded collie puppy. Yes, his coat is difficult, but this is a dog grooming salon, isnt? My dog doesnt stand well, when grooming his rear, he is a puppy, he will learn. So this morning when I called for an appointment I was told, they had nothing till October, I said ok. Then Allie said she couldnt be de-matting him, again I said ok, he wont be matted. She then told me she was too old to be holding him up. I then said, just tell me that you dont want to groom him anymore and Ill find someone else, with that she hung up on me. After 20 years of continued loyalty, recommendations, and what I perceived as friendship, the relationship ends with the click of a phone. Im totally disappointed in both Debbie and Allie, completely unprofessional hurtful and entirely disrespectful to long time client.

Incredible! I had the three family dogs, all are mixed breeds with a lot of hair, groomed. All three came back so clean and well groomed that they did not shed for about a week afterward (which is huge for my border collie, Shepard, and Akita mix breeds). The staff was lovely. I will be sending my dogs back there again.

BAD, AWFUL, THE WORST! I called to make an appointment for my two Beagles. The woman on the phone asked if the dogs bark. I said they might in an unfamiliar environment but I was thinking REALLY? Dogs are dogs and they bark sometimes. She did not tell me the entrance to the store was through the parking lot. We came to the door facing the main road with the dogs and I called to ask how we were supposed to enter and she told us to go to the back but that was a long walk so we had to beg her to let us in through the front. She also did not tell me they only accept cash or checks. When I called her later to ask if the dogs were ready she said my son had picked them up but she did not mention that she did not wash Snoopy, my older dog, because he howled???? She should have told me this earlier instead of making him wait in a cage. She keeps the dogs in cages while they wait to be picked up. Not very nice! Do not take your dog here!!!!!

I have been with them for about 20 years. Never had an issue. They really know how to treat the animals like family. They are the most honest n caring groomers

I love this place! And so does Chewy, my 8yr old Shih Tzu who gets groomed here 2x a month - Ally and Debbie have groomed Chewy for the past 7years and they do an excellent job! Hilo and I are new to Carle Place. Our first customer service opportunity was with Canine Cleaners. We Had a wonderful experience. Would highly recommend and we surely will be going back.

We have been using them for 5+ years. My shihtzu always comes out looking beautiful. He is always excited to come here.
