We absolutely love the Pet Lodge of Clifton Park. Everyone is friendly and outgoing. It’s always clean and my yellow lab gets so excited every time we tell her she’s going to doggie daycare. It’s obvious that the staff love all the animals that come in and treat them as their own. I highly recommend the Pet Lodge of Clifton Park.
My friend went on vacation for her sons birthday and came back her dog tail was injured. They said he bit his tail. She had to bring him to the vet and they amputated his tail. Her dog is Destroyed handicap for life now.
I left my dog here for around 2 ish weeks as it was the only option for a last min travel. I felt super confident going into it but after dropping her off and calling a couple days later to check on how she was doing (this was her first time boarding) I unfortunately spoke to someone on the phone who acted as if I was bizarre for calling to check in? All I got back was a oh yea shes fine. Not super comforting as I also asked for pictures and videos and received nothing. When I picked up my dog, I was 1. horrified at her haircut and 2. horrified at the conditions my dogs things were in. Her bed was COVERED in pee and super sticky, handed to me in a trash bag with poop smeared on the outside. The last thing I want to mention is how she has been doing since I picked her up. We have had non stop diarrhea and zero appetite. I am extremely concerned for what conditions she was in at Pet Lodge. I want to also mention that she was supposed to be in isolation since she is not spayed (I am not sure if they followed this instruction) but there is no reason why she should be feeling ill.I am not someone to leave reviews ever and I really dont love Karen culture but I am seriously so upset. As someone that drove in from Manhattan, I would have much rather paid double to have her in a safer environment. I was recommended this place by someone who has had great experiences there but if you really care about your dog and you are on the fence about boarding them here, rethink.
My dogs love it here. They pull me to get inside that they loved it so much. They treat my dogs well. Finn and Rosie love it there
I’m concerned to come on here and see a similar review to what happened to my dog. My dog did not go to Pet Lodge for day care very frequently, but had been here a few times. Each time I went, I tried to question the staff as to how he did, since he was a rescue and was new to day care (and with a rescue you never know their history). I found it very difficult to get any information from staff- no report card and no one ever seeming to know or be able to find a staff member who interacted with him throughout the day. There are no cameras to check in during the day either. I assumed all was well. The first time he went, he came home very sick, vomiting for days and coughing. Although he’s vaccinated for kennel cough, it seems he had contracted it. The next few times, he always seemed to come home very thirsty, and not having gone to the bathroom. I equated that to him just being anxious. This last time I took him, at pickup, I was told that he was in evaluation because he was new. I questioned it because he was not new and the employee at the front desk seemed to have no information and had a deer in the headlights look on her face. Another employee eventually came out and very rudely said he’s not a good fit for daycare. She seemed very angry like it was my fault and my dog was some sort of menace. I asked what she meant since he’s been there several times. She said he was aggressive with another dog that simply just came up to play with him. I tried to ask follow-up questions about the size and breed of the dog and then was told it was several dogs and he tried to bite them when they were just trying to play. Well it sounded like he got thrown into the pack and cornered and many dogs may react to that. They were very clear that he was no longer welcome there but I feel like they were not very forthcoming with information that I need to evaluate my dog, such as whether he needs medication or whether he’d be a better fit for another environment (or whether something was going on hear that was making him act that way). I feel like if you’re going to exclude animals from your business and say they’re aggressive you need to be more forthcoming with information. That’s a big label to put on a dog without further information. When I got my dog in the car, I found he had some sort of dirty substance all over his mouth and he seemed traumatized. Maybe he’d been locked in the cage all day after the alleged incident- I wouldn’t know because they didn’t tell me. He has had stomach issues ever since he got back and has been unable to defecate. I have no problem not bringing him back to this facility because I never really felt like everything was right there. But clearly there are issues here based upon others’ reviews.
I had an incredibly disappointing encounter with this establishment. My dog was placed in their care for a brief period, and the experience left me deeply dissatisfied. It became apparent that they neglected to provide proper nourishment for my dog during her stay. Despite providing a carefully measured container of food, the portion returned fell just short of what was initially sent.To compound matters, my dogs cherished toys, which were entrusted to them, were never returned. Equally distressing was the condition in which I found my dog upon pickup. She was completely drenched in urine, and her bed shared the same unfortunate fate. It was a sight that truly shocked me. Witnessing my normally joyful dog trembling and visibly scared broke my heart.Given the alarming series of events, I must strongly caution against considering this establishment for your pets needs. Instead, I implore you to seek out a more responsible and dependable alternative that will prioritize your pets well-being and safety. Your furry companion deserves nothing less than the best care possible.
Goose had the best time at the Pet Lodge today. Stefanie was so happy to see him when he arrived and he felt so welcomed when we they brought him into the area with all the other dogs. I was told he got along with the other dogs and that he had a great time! We also got him groomed while he was there and Cheryl was very intentional to make sure he looked amazing and exactly to our liking. He looks amazing and we know Goose cant wait to go back!
Even though my dog has stayed with the pet lodge three times, this most recent time the employees rudely told me that he could not return because he bites. Furthermore, when we picked him up, he smelled terrible and seemed traumatized. I dont know what the employees of the pet lodge did to my dog, but it seems that he was abused. I understand being weary of a dog that bites, however, I made it clear that he could sometimes be aggressive before they agreed to take him. They have also let him stay with them twice before with no issues. If the employees are not able to handle a difficult dog, then they should not agree to care for them. I am disgusted that they allowed my dog to be abused.
If I could give negative stars I would . My dog did what I call a trial run before an upcoming trip . I sent her for 2-3 days and she came back fine but the lady said she peed in her bed so they washed it and apparently went all night without it . Sleeping on the floor my guess . Then when my mother came to pick the dog up , the didn’t know where some of her stuff was. Well wouldn’t it be in the kennel with the dog and when you bring the dog out to the lobby wouldn’t the stuff be in that same kennel ? That would be my guess. The 30 minute drive to our old dog hotel is better than the 10 minute . Would rather waste gas to go to a place that we know will take good care of our dog .
My Family pet got hurt at his stay here & the owner showed no empathy or responsibility for his injuries!! 🤕☹️😢
We bring Mylo to Pet Lodge all the time. He jumps right out of the car to see his friends when we get to the parking lot. We use them for day care and overnights. I really like that you can do half days for the daycare program. I like the awning for him when it’s raining. I like how they know his name and greet him warmly when we get there. And he always leaves clean and refreshed. We are very happy customers.
Definitely a nice facility. Cheerful employees clean facility. The groomer Michelle does fabulous with all the different breeds of dogs. Some of the photos are before and after.
My dog has attended daycare there 2-3 days a week for the past 3 months. The staff learned his name after only a few days of attending and he is always excited to see them. He comes home happy and tired out from playing. He has also boarded there for a night and they took great care of him and the price was very affordable. I’m so grateful for the staff here taking good care of him while I’m at work!
They where ok when I drop my dog off..picking her up the next day was needless not very friendly. First they handef me 2 toys when we gave them a bucket full plus her bed.i had asked for the rest after she gave me a blank stare and asked what can I help u with I told them she had mire toys and treats with her and a bed..she finally retrieve her toy bucket byt missing her bed They lost her bed that she came with and claimed she soiled so she said they washed it but never put it back in her kennel. The lady had trouble finding it..I will not be going back the lack of knowledge of what their dog clients bring is very disturbing...makes me wonder if theyve not to concern on the wellbeing.
Honestly, Probably one of the worst places I’ve took my dog, especially with looking at all the other prices that people have listed my price is nowhere near that for a week, I get that there’s $10 extra fees for daycare and stuff like that but it’s just not all adding up. Also I was told on my dog to be groomed and have her nails cut prior to the pick up that was also not the case. They said that they would cut her nails at any other time if I brought my dog back, but yet I can’t get anyone to pick up the phone. Including that when I was away on my vacation while my dog was boarded I still can’t get any communication no one can answer a phone no one can give me a call back none of it. I definitely do not recommend bringing your dog here, there is a great boarding kennel right and BURNT HILLS if you are looking for one!!!!!!!!!
Hotel and staff are very friendly. My kids had a great time! They have so many activities and games for the kids in the hotel! Not just the water park. I just wish the little restaurant in the hotel or Johnny Rockets attached to the hotel were gluten free friendly and offered gluten free options. 100% recommend
I wish I could give a zero review for this place. We used to board our dog at the PetLodge when we would go away. Many times when we picked him up, I noticed that they never gave him his food and was either starving him or giving him food he cant eat. The staff could care less about the dogs and probably more about the money. We were going to give it another try, but saw the prices had increased. Its even more concerning when the front area gets swarmed with people. To make matters worse, my dog got sick and I didnt hear about it until I picked him up. I think there are better places to take your animals.
I boarded my 2 year old shepherd mix here over the weekend and I am very upset with his care. I spent roughly 130$ for him to stay there not even a full 48hrs (apparently you have to pay an extra 15$ per day if you want your dog to have playtime). I received all of his toys and belongings back which was nice. However, I measured out his food for the weekend and put one extra serving in just incase, and they gave me almost all of the food back. So either they werent feeding him, or fed him their own food which I didnt want. Then the second we stepped out the door (quite literally the second), he peed about a gallon (it was 4pm). Ive never seen him pee that much in my life and I work 9 hour days! So they definitely werent letting him outside. And to top it all off he got kennel cough from staying here. I am not one to write reviews or make a fuss but I am so upset with his care from this place. I dont know if its because theyre understaffed or what, but I find this all inexcusable. I highly recommend to anyone who wants to feel good about where they board their dog, to NOT bring them to pet lodge. Sorry. Only positive I would say is that the two girls at the front desk were very sweet when I picked him up.
I have been talking my dog here for 2 years now, and we both love it! They really treat your animals like family, and as a pet owner, you can not ask for anything more!
My dog goes to daycare here 4-5 days a week and absolutely loves it. She gets so excited when we are in the parking lot ready to drop her off. They are open really early in the morning (630am) so it’s convenient to drop her off before work. They also offer half day pricing and discounted pricing if you buy multiple days at once. Overall I think it’s the best deal for doggie day care in the Clifton Park area. They post some cute pictures of the pups on their Facebook page everyday so you can see what your dog was up to all day.
Very good place. We boarded our dog Asia here for 3 weeks while we were in Europe. She didnt seem like she wanted to leave! The workers seemed to know our dog by name and that they were giving her the care she needed. Also we had my girlfriends mother stop by and check in on our dog from time to time and Everytime she told us that Asia just wanted to go back to the pet lodge and not go out for a walk. So they must be doing something right.
I have been sending my dog here several times a week (since he was 3 months old). He loves it! His tail starts wagging and he starts jumping around as soon as we pull in the parking lot. He flies out of the car and scratches to get in. He comes home so happy and tired! The staff is fantastic and have gone above and beyond more than once to accommodate. I have both boarded him and sent him to daycare here many times with never a negative experience! Hes become so well socialized and, in turn, obedient at home. I absolutely LOVE this place!! And also, their sign out by route 9 is always cleverly hilarious! 😄
Our experiences at Pet Lodge have been fantastic. The staff is always polite and professional and our dogs always come home happy and healthy. We love that they offer the option for one on one play and nature walks as one of our dogs wouldnt do well in doggie day care. Also love the 24 hour webcams. Used it the first 2 times we boarded the dogs there, but havent since as we know they are being well cared for.
Boarded our dog and cat for about a week, both animals smelled of strong urine when they were picked up. Front lobby also smelled of urine, but the animals were otherwise ok. Not a pleasant experience, seems to be a common theme with other reviewers as well.Animals were ok so 3 stars is fair but will look elsewhere next time.
Worst place I have experienced, not only would my dog leave soaked with urine but their are kids that work that dont take serious responsibility.I actually fell on their concrete floor when there was water left on the floor that wasnt visible. I was furious. There was no incident form to fill out just a notebook piece of paper and no first aid kit upon request.Thy dont care if your a satisfied customer. Truly, they should be more eager to make sure that your pet is able to urinate and defecate out of their kennel not left to linger in it.
Please do not bring your dog here. Every time I picked up my dog he smelled of urine and was extremely dirty. I found what looked like a bite mark on my dog and when I asked about it no one had any idea what it could have came from or if anything happened. On another occasion I picked him up and he had poop on him. I walked inside to tell them and they offered to rinse him off but I was so disgusted and upset I asked for paper towels and left.
DO NOT TRY AND PICK YOUR PETS UP ON SUNDAY. The only issue I’ve had with this place is that if you try and pick your pets up on Sunday regardless of what time you do they will charge you a full day of boarding. They open at 2 on Sunday but since your pets stay past noon it’s considered a full day. It’s a terrible policy but ‘there’s nothing they can do’ so keep that in mind when planning your trips. You won’t be able to save a little by coming back early on Sunday so might as well stay another day.
Easy to book boarding over the phone. Everyone working there Ive talked with is extremely friendly. They were eager to give us a tour of the grounds before we chose to board our dog there as well.
If I could give negative stars, I would. Two days into our vacation I finally figure out how to view her on the webcam and I see a pile of food on the floor not near her dish. I call to see what is up and was told they do that to keep the dog from scarfing their food. It sat there for hours because my dog wont eat food off some disgusting floor. So we called back again and was told they would clean it up and give her new food in her dish. We then watched the girl scoop it up and put the old nasty food thats been on the floor for who knows how long and put it in her dish. Needless to say she didnt eat it. 6 days home now and she is very bad off. She seems like she was extremely dehydrated and poorly treated in general. She has only eaten once or less a day since weve been home and today is acting like she just wants to find somewhere to lay down and die.(5 yr old lab) We have a vet appt Monday. We will never vacation again without bringing her, if she survives this, and I recommend nobody use this facility.
Yeah I was attacked by a dog on the premises of the Pet Lodge and Matthew owner doesnt care nor do the workers even tried helping me and the lady who owned the dogs took off I wouldnt bring my dog there if my life depended on it. I wouldnt even give him one star but it wouldnt let me post it without giving one star how crooked is that. Also dont like your dogs drink the water it is not safe and the company hawk drilling that takes little care of it, Mark runs the worst dog Lodge and dont care about his customers .SAD but keep your pets at home dont pay Mark to abuse your dogs and have a bunch of underage kids looked at them all day and all they do. They sit by the front counter and talk all day
A great place for your dog to get some socialization and play time. The staff is friendly and excellent with dogs. Its heated for the winter months and air conditioned for the summertime, for those of us with pampered pets!! =)
Incredibly unprofessional and will not recommend these kennels to anyone. If you cant even treat your potential customers with respect then I certainly dont want you to be responsible for the well being of my dog, whom I consider family.I had reserved a kennel and unfortunately while on the way to drop of my dog encountered heavy traffic. I was running about 15 minutes later than the kennel closed so I called to make sure it would still be alright if we dropped her off a bit late. I was told it was no problem and they would wait for us to arrive. Sure enough, we arrived exactly 15 minutes late to find the entire building empty and not a car in the parking lot. Not only did we run as quick as possible despite the wet roads and heavy traffic but I didnt even receive so much as a courtesy phone call (to either number they had on file) to let me know they were leaving to inquire about my status. If it had been a problem to begin with I would have made alternate arrangements, but at that point everything else in the area had closed and I was left with a difficult situation in regards to my weekend plans. I feel lied to and completely disrespected, terrible customer service.
We brought my dog here for day care a lot and before we brought him here he was normal and then when we stopped because we heard stuff we realized that he would flinch a lot when we would try to reach for his collar. We asked an educated person on the topic about this and they said that it is related to trauma. DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG HERE
When I picked up my dogs after a 2-day stay, they were panting hard--kind of like they might if theyd been locked in a hot car all afternoon on a sunny day. It took them more than 2 hours of being home in the air conditioning before they panted a little more lightly (they do not normally pant indoors--especially at night, which it was). The towels I had brought for bedding were still folded and clean (unused) in the bag. I had also sent in two chew sticks, which were still in the bag as well. I requested individual play sessions twice/day for both dogs together (8 total-4 each) and was billed on one line for 6 nature walks and billed again on another line for 9 nature walks! The girl at the check out didnt know how to work the computer system to be able to explain why my bill was over $360!!! So after retrieving someone to help her access the itemized information, we learned of these billing errors and I was provided with a small refund, since she had already processed my debit card. At this point, I am unsure of what horrific experience my dogs had to endure at this place for 2 days, but we will definitely NOT be back!
Dog seems to like it. It does seem like we are charged a different amount per day each time we pick the dog up. But dog always comes back healthy and happy, so its better than most.
Negligence and MistreatmentCERO STARI left my Yorkie at this NASTY place for 2 weeks (my first time experience) in excellent conditions when I came back from my vacation I picked my little dog up and he looked like an abandoned dog, miserable, his head looking down, was covered in feces and urine and his hair was all tangled. I had to take my little dog to the vet for an examination and grooming. I am still waiting for GM to call me, so far CERO CALLS, CERO EMAILS. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE IF YOU LOVE YOUR BEST FRIEND PLEASE DONT TAKE HIM/HER TO THIS DISGUSTING PLACE.
Our dog, Buddy, loves it here!!
Excellent place. Your pet will be well cared for and have a great time
Very friendly and informative staff. Our dog loved Doggy Daycare. Well be seeing more of Pet Lodge!
Pet Lodge is always fantastic. Do a great job caring for my dog and they have a groomer that does a very nice job.
My grand dog loves to stay at the Pet Lodge. We always know hes happy and safe.
The one time I brought my dog it appeared very boring. Agreed the staff was friendly, but there was something very off about this place. Im not sure I trust my dog is as safe or occupied as Id like. More than likely wont be back.
Do not bring your animals here!I brought my 2 dogs there in August for 1 week. When I picked them up my Maltese had a cough .This progressed into Full Kennel Cough ,which was a nightmare for 3 weeks. My dog coughed for 24 /7 and it was terrible!I I literally was up many nights with her.I also spent over $500 in treatment for her.I was never asked if my dog had the Kennel cough vaccine and she didn’t so she was more susceptible to this .I was not aware that she should have had this vaccine prior.I told them when I booked it that I was bringing my dogs to the Vet and to let me know if they needed anything. They should never take any animals without that vaccine and the Influenza vaccine.I have called to speak to manager 6 times and she was never there and never returned my phone calls.Don’t go there!!!
Dont worry your pet wont literally get lodged in anything theyll just be taken care of and have lots of other friendly pets to play with
Very happy with the service. Staff was very friendly and Sophie enjoyed herself for going to doggie day care for the 1st time
My dog loves daycare at Pet Lodge! Its a bit pricey but the staff is very tentative and the services are very convenient.

This place is horrible
Dogs are excited to get there and they come home tired!
This place is very kind to our anxious dog. They have a lot of patience and we appreciate it!
The staff is so nice and they take care of my pup, who can be a little shy, perfectly. I would definitely recommend!!
My dogs have been going there for years and love it! The staff greet them by name when we walk in and they clearly love animals. In the 20 or so visits over the last 5 years we have never had a bad experience. It is such a huge relief to be able to enjoy our vacation knowing that our furry babies are well taken care of. The doggie daycare is the best!! My dogs always come home happy and healthy!
Very nice place. Staff works great with all the dogs and they are very caring. My dogs love it here.
