Pet Supplies Plus Cortland

Cortland pets supply- my wife came in to purchase a reptile for me and my son and the staff there proceeded to talk down saying that the worker went “broke” buying everything that the reptile needed. So pretty much the workers talked my wife out of purchasing said reptile… very judgmental staff.

I shop there two maybe 3 times a month, the employees are very friendly and helpful. The store is super clean and some good deals weekly.Check it out! But remember they Close at nine.

I love this place! As a Wildlife rehabilitator operating NY Wildlife Rescue, I can attest that it truly does take a village, and Pet Supplies Plus understands this! On multiple occasions they have generously donated much needed pet food to NY Wildlife Rescue to assist the willdlife in our care, as well as regularly donating to our local Cortland Community SPCA. They carry more brands than I even knew existed and offer some specifically foods you cant find in other local establishments. Theyre always running great specials and Ive found their regular prices to be fair and competitive.This store has just about anything you could need or need, from practical toys. collars and leashes to swanky rhinestone encrusted items for pets with champagne tastes!They offer full service grooming, mini spa treatments, nail trims and even have a great, Do it yourself dog wash with everything you need to bath your pet, without soaking your bathroom!Of all their attributes though, I have to say I am most impressed by their staff. Everyone Ive spoken to, is not only knowledgeable about the products they carry, but about animals in general. Its immediately evident they are genuine animal lovers.I went in one day with my lovable but misbehaved Black Lab Ranger, who was pulling me all over the store and stopped to get some training tips. Ten minutes and one Gentle Leader leash later, that boy was calmly walking beside me like a gentleman!

Seemed like an okay store until I required some basic customer service involving the manager. I accidentally left a paid item there at the register on my way out and didnt realize it until the next day. Called the store and was told that they did have my item and the receipt, and that they hold items like that for 30 days for the customer to pick up. When I returned within that timeframe, I was told that they could no longer find my item that they were holding for me and there was nothing they could do, even though they had multiple bottles of the same item on the shelf. I asked to talk to the manager, was told she wasnt in that day, and the employee went back to call her. She eventually came back and said the manager confirmed that they would not fulfill the policy they had earlier stated. Simply put, they kept the item and my money and I will not be shopping there ever again.

We had our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel groomed here today. I was greeted by every staff member I saw and of course everyone said hello to Emma. The groomers took their time to make sure she was trimmed just the way we wanted. Their caring and calm demeanor put Emma at ease. She is 9 years old and this was a busy day for her. The standard cut for a CKCS leaves a lot of hair around their feet and their ears quite long. Emma has been in Southern California for 6 years so we wanted the hair trimmed away from her feet so she could navigate in the rain and snow and not pick up every leaf on the sidewalk. They trimmed her perfectly! We will definitely be back.The store itself is spacious clean and well organized. The shelves are well stocked and the selection is expansive. The staff really made me feel welcome. Thank you!

Disappointed. Will be taking my business elsewhere, and I spent TONS of money there. Got my dog groomed there, they called 20 minutes prior to him being ready. Okay. So then I wound up picking him an hour after that phone call. Was not told at all, they just wound up charging me $25 for a “boarding fee”. He was there a total of 2 hours and 45 minutes. Ridiculous. Also, not to mention, I paid for his nails to be clipped and they did not do that. Wound up having to do that myself.You lost a customer. You’d think they’d do good by their customers who are already spending so much money there on grooming AND supplies. When I told them I was going to write a bad review, their response was “we already have a lot of them”. So doesn’t that tell you something…? Other people there are nice. Grooming department there is atrocious, bunch of uneducated kids running it there. Kept calling my dog the wrong breed too , as well as put it on paperwork after I corrected them twice. Never again. They don’t care about their clients or their dogs, they only see the money in your pockets.

Easily my favorite pet store in town. Great selection of cat toys. I had a beautiful tiny little kitty, but due to the excellent cat food I found here, I now have a big strong cat at home (haha). Thank you pet supplies plus and your friendly staff. The staff are absolutely incredible, everyone is friendly and helpful! I love going because of the service as well!!!

I love this place and so does my dog she always gets excited knowing that people are there and there is always a good selection of toys food etc

Poor groomers - this is what a purebred toy poodle looked like after 4 long hours with his nails never touched- they were left like completely undone- and his bath must have been very skimpy because he did not smell fresh and clean. I did have a student ( who was very nice) but they should have supervised her since she’s just learning and I was told my dog was her first groom. When it didn’t turn out well- I still tipped her but after seeing how she completely missed his nails and made him look so bad, I realize that in part she was not to blame because she had no one to guide her or overbite. To me this is negligence because she is not ready to be on her own. The time before that the groomer told me that her razor kept getting hot and stuck in my puppy’s fur. I’m sure that was an anxiety producing experience for him. Three times was not a charm, and we will be going to a shop that is responsible for their grooming department. When you share your concerns, the manager ‘Isabella’ becomes very defensive, and turns everything around in the customer. That is not how you retain customers- and we’ve had our fill.I also read that there is a class action lawsuit claiming that they wiretaps and audio all customers in their stores ( Google under Pets Supply Lawsuit) and shares these wiretaps with third party vendorsWhen I asked manager Isabella if they have video/audio in the store, her reply was to say that ‘she did not have to answer that’ As customers we have the right to know and why they would be wiretapping customers and interactions. Second lawsuit was that the company was not paying their groomers fair wages or for grooms performed. Lastly, whenever someone leaves a honest personal review, the store makes sure they counter it rather than just let it be the customers experience. There are better places for our pets to be groomed, and we will be choosing them in the future. Wishing the groomers fair pay. Not sure corporate would care- the manager didn’t even have their phone number.

Charlotte in the grooming dept did a fantastic job on my Pom, Max. I’m always apprehensive going to a new groomer especially with how complex Poms can be to cut, but she took the time to make sure my guy was perfect. Thank you!!

The grooming service is really bad. We went for a bath and a trim. Instead of a trim, they shaved my dog.

Wonderful pet supply store. Also great pet grooming services here with excellent prices. The lady in the fish department is very smart and friendly. I always learn some thing new from her. Thank you young lady for your excellent customer service and I’m sorry I forgot your name.

I purchased a LOT of dog food Sunday-staff was so helpful and loading all the big bags as I chose them and then loaded all in my car! Will definitely be going back as we don’t have a store close to us!

Dog bath, grooming and nails are great! The groomers are very helpful, patient and caring. The groomers always have a smile and make my pup very content. My pup loves going there. He gets so excited. The pricing is affordable.

If I could do lower than 1 star I would because it doesn’t even deserve that. RUDE doesn’t even begin to start to describe the employees there I was working with a wonderful young lady as my partner and I were waiting to get fish after another customer who was still deciding but was there first in that time and while we were bagging our fish Tristan was the employees name was rude to his coworker excessively and to my partner and I because in the time we waited it was now time for them to close. On top of the rude behavior and the excessive attitude from him the employee smelled repulsive of body odor and was hard to be near. I have spent $100s of dollars here in the last month and refuse! To keep going there I’ll drive to PetSmart over this treatment. Management needs a huge revamp aswell as I’ve had issues with Isabella before this in the same week. The owners need to get on top of these situations. As for the young lady beth I believe. That poor girl deserves a raise. She was spoken too so badly by her coworker for being a polite worker and not telling us to hurry when we had been waiting.

An employee helped us with the food and we mentioned it to another employee about there nice deed and they said it was not allowed and began to gossip about it with another employee. It’s a shame helping people is frowned upon at this store. Will definitely be going another place.

We love this store! They have everything you could want for a pet. It is well organized, well-stocked, awesome and helpful employees that obviously love their job! Thanks for coming to Cortland!

They have a huge selection. I found my cats favorite food that I couldnt find anywhere else.

Clean, bright store and so far shelves are pretty full. Staff is friendly when you are face to face, however, seems no one is around to help. Ive walked out twice when no one wanted to help me with fish. Almost left last night too, but someone finally came back to us. Im not going to run around searching for help, they saw me walk in and we were the ONLY customers in the store. Too busy taking selfies up front. Unfortunately, most of my visits have been this way. Search for staff or interupt their socialization time. :-(

Honestly love the selection at this store, and their rewards points system. Its still technically cheaper to get pet supplies at a big box store but this is just a nicer, cleaner, more specialized store to go to for pet needs.

I went in to buy a Leopard Gecko but was convinced to buy a Ball Python. The reptile specialist was amazing, she helped me with literally everything I needed to know even though it took me hours to decide what I wanted. Everyone there was great and the animals were well taken care of!

Staff is always pleasant, knowledgeable. Store gas what Im looking for, good variety.

The dog wash was disgusting. There was no shampoo in any of the 4 bottles and the tubs were full of hair. My pup came out covered in other dogs hair. And, lastly, the place smelled like poop. Never again.

They are extremely nice. I think they are better than PetSmart. Respectfully and helpful to the max.

Great place to get your dogs groomed, food or treats for most pets or see all the new pets they have, from ferrets and guinea pigs to lizards and fish, they have the supplies and treatment guides for most pets and the best part is the friendly and helpful staff.

This store can’t keep a supply of roaches, super worms or horn worms. They don’t have good communication skills between their employees. They all give different answers to the same question.

Hard to find some for grooming. No one answered for several days and even went by there and was told they left early that day.

Very very disappointed in our local pet supplies plus, $564 dollars taken off my card, first return I was charged the price of the item I was returning on top of the price of item I was returning in the process of the return, which resulted in a total of $564. Which still cleared on my card and hasn’t returned either as well as you got the automatic cat litter box back too. SMFH let’s see if a third day in a row if someone can give me back my $564 please. Shame on you, first time is a mistake but 3 times is a no no…

Okay....very friendly staff. Very pleasant. Yet, not the sharpest knives in the drawer....asked for a certain fish....said they didnt carry it....looked at the aquariums and they had it....and left my debit card there, called them to ask if they had it....said no....walked in that same day and lo and behold there it was, on a shelf!!! I was kinda disappointed that they didnt have more animals for sale. The aquarium section seemed small. But I am not complaining. I will definitely keep going here! The cashier asked if I wanted a discount!!!

Didnt know about extra charges and took longer than i was told. Then made a comment they would have to charge a handling charge, and that they werent there to babysit my dog. Then wanted a tip! Yea right! My dogs fur is uneven

Super expensive $10-15 difference compared to Chewy and Amazon.Chewy and Amazon are a lot cheaper for the same things size/quantity-wise with shipping included.Customer service - non existent - mostly young high school students wrapped up in gossip and less about helping you find what you need. I wasnt impressed and wont return unless its a dire emergency
