Pet Supplies Plus Fishkill

If I could give this establishment zero stars I would . My husband had just picked up our dog from the groomer and went to buy wipes for him . Our dog had an accident in the store and my husband didn’t even have a chance to ask for cleaning supplies when The store manager looked at him disgusted. He apologized multiple times. She proceeded to tell my husband how to deal with our dog, how to walk the dog and how they never have any accidents in the store because their customers walk their dogs before they enter the store. I was so surprised at how she was speaking to him so condescendingly. I’ve shopped at this store numerous times and loved how convenient it is to shop there but after this incident I will be going back to PETCO where they don’t judge you if your dog has an accident in the store, have adequate stations in case of these accidents for you and offer assistance instead of disgusted looks. The staff there definitely need a course in empathy and professionalism. Do better.

Got my pitbull (7months) nails trimmed , filed and paws balmed , plus his fur sprayed with a deodorizer. All for 20$Made an appointment the same dayTook about 12min in total . Very smooth experience for the puppy . Will recommend this place to everyone .UPDATE*****So I recently returned to get my dogs nails trimmed excellent service from the groomers . My main complaint is the manager who was very bossy since I entered the store . When my oldest daughter who was buying cat products came to the caged area where our puppy was getting serviced , the manager showed up and said we couldnt bring merchandise into that area , so I advised my daughter to leave the merchandise on a counter nearby so she can watch the puppy like she wanted to , the manager then returned and said she was now confiscating our merchandise and bringing it to the register so we can pay for it . I never asked her for help at all . She made us feel like we were going to steal or that she couldnt trust that we could manage our way to the register with the merchandise . I believe she needs to hire security guards if she is that worried about theft, she is a manager not loss prevention.She acted unprofessional and really affected the way we felt about spending our hard earned money at this facility .I hope she gets re-trained and learns to manage her attitude and behavior towards customers .

This place is kind of disgusting. Went in to buy a doggy birthday treat, when we opened the little glass door to all the “desserts” there were flies crawling all around, dust and webs everywhere in the storage, and little caterpillar looking bugs webbing on the wrappers of the treats. I understand it’s for a dog and not human consumption, but it’s a little unsettling to know that there could be eggs hidden in the treats and could make your pet sick. My little sister wanted to look at the fish, hamsters, and birds - there was a small ferret cage with poop dripping out of the crate and onto the floor. Defintely doesn’t carry the greatest brands for your dogs, and with the look of the store I defintely won’t be purchasing anything from this place again.

Kind staff, decent selection, standard prices.The atmosphere was a bit awkward, very quiet with a lot of watching eyes. Otherwise, I liked it here.

The staff at PSP Fishkill is outstanding - always offers assistance, guidance and advice, if sought. Jen Morley is amazing - a top flight professional - and PSP is so fortunate to have her on their team representing the organization.

The Hispanic lady inside the store called me derogatory names. I felt so unsafe in this location shut it down. She said homophobic slurs I came in with my poodle and I wasn’t happy

EDIT: it’s interesting that once we told them we would no longer do business with them, and we’re leaving an online review, they suddenly had time to respond within 3 hours and suddenly offered a refund. OUR REVIEW STILL STANDS.We were customers for a LONG time. Previously, we never had an issue. On 6/4/21, we got PSP’s brand of dry cat food. Upon pouring it out into our larger cat food container, a piece of wood fell out of the bag. We went to the website listed on the bag on 6/5/21, and used the “contact us” feature, but weren’t able to submit the pictures. On 6/10/21, they asked for the pictures, which we sent the same day. They finally responded on *7/1/21* (nearly a month after the problem began) asking us to physically bring the wood into the store so they could send it to the manufacturer. At no time did they offer as much as a coupon or replacement of bag of kibble. Wood should NOT be in their food. Their customer service is less than savory. For any customer, but *especially* customers who have been using them for so many years. We have since started using tractor supply in WF instead.

If you want a good groomer, ask for Melissa. She knows what she is doing!! Both my dog & myself are very happy with her!! It is not easy to find a good groomer. Im glad I found her!

I shop at the pet supply Plus in Fishkill New York the staff is very courteous very welcoming very professional and always helps me with anything I need help with with no problem no attitude no rudeness they literally stop what theyre doing and would walk me to what Im looking for I really hope that store stands for quite some time thank you staff of Supply Plus in Fishkill huge shout out to Ronnie who really help me get the right food for my dogs

The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. They helped me find what I needed and instructed me how to get points via the app. which the other stores hadnt. For this, I am grateful!

Dog wash is always dirty, dead crickets and crusted dog poop everywhere, corporate should take care of there employees so they are more eager to keep this place clean. Staff are very friendly

I have been using this store for my puppies grooming needs for more than 10 years. But things have changed!Very disappointed with the grooming and wash department, they overbooked me 2 weeks ago, got rescheduled to today to find out when I got there, that whoever set my appointment is no longer working there and I was not in the system. Ridiculous way to run a business. Time to give my money to a different dog grooming business.

Excellent Service at Pet Supplies in Fishkill!! The manager, Ronni, was outstanding and provided great customer service. She assisted me with Origen Dog Food product and provided great feedback and suggestions. The young gentleman that first approached me and asked if I needed assistance was great too! He escorted me to the manager as he was working freight for the store, but was very nice and helpful too. I recommend this store highly!

This place is good for your quick run to get pet food and cat litter. If youre looking for something specific like an automatic water cleaner for a fish tank or sand for a reptile cage you might want to reconsider. They have a good amount of normal pet goods but anything really specific, call ahead.

Too bad that all PSP customers cant shop at the Fishkill, NY, store. Excellent service and help. They always point out specials, theyre always courteous and smiling. It must be as good a store to work in as well as shop.

**This is not a reflection of the store but the Grooming Department.**I made an appointment for my dog to get a bath and a haircut for 5:30pm. When I got to the store (at 5:30 prompt) the groomers informed me that both of the clients they were currently working on came to the store late so my dog would have to wait in the kennel until they were done. None of the groomers appeared to even know who would be grooming my dog for his appointment. Another groomer was out front eating her sandwich in front of customers and the dogs (which I personally think is an inappropriate place to have a meal as they have their own breakroom). The atmosphere in itself was chaotic and my dog was clearly afraid - I almost took him back home due to this first impression.I received a telephone call 3 minutes to 7pm stating that Koda was ready for pickup. They also informed me that due to the fact that the dogs they had been working on came in late that they were unable to finish my dogs haircut and that they are required to shut down shop by 7pm. They advised I make another appointment to finish his trimming - and pay for it. My dog was there for an hour and a half and was not given a proper haircut. Because another customer came in late they were unable to accommodate my dog when I arrived to my appointment on time.Safe to say I will not be bringing him back to this location again.

I travel from 30 mins away (across the river‼️) so my dog can be groomed here by Melissa Way and the team at Pet Supplies Plus Fishkill. Amazing grooming, super friendly, and excellent communication.

This store had everything I needed ! My cat was at the vet getting a spay surgery and I wanted the inflatable doughnut- they had it- Delectable pouches for cats- they had it- keep in mind I never shopped here before and happened to see the store and said what the heck?The employee Jennifer helped me immediately and located everything I needed- I ended up getting a cat scratcher as wellGreat service, selections and great prices- you can’t beat it!

Have all the major brands that a Petco or PetSmart would have and the prices are reasonable.

Love the staff!! They are extremely helpful and friendly. They can give you good suggestions for items you may like based on items purchased in the past. If you order online, they can help you with supplements for things they might not have in stock. The store is always clean, well lit, and easy to navigate. Shop local, my friends!!

I love this store. The store manager Nicole is helpful and very well informed on the products she is selling and she knows where everything in the store is located. The cashiers and other staff are amazing as well. They are always helpful and friendly. There has never been a time where I was not greeted with a smile and a helpful attitude. The staff always ask if they can help. They know all about their products and have helped to load heavy items without being asked. I have shopped at this location many times and would highly recommend this store to all friends and family. AMAZING WORK 👍🏻👍🏻

We purchase several pet supplies from this Store for our Cats, Dog & in support of our efforts to feed the local backyard bird population (which of course includes the local squirrels, chipmunks, raccoons. possums, skunks, vagrant ducks, geese, etc.). Besides having the occasional Sale on items we like or need, we have our Dog groomed here via the service available through the Store, too.All the employees & Manager(s) are always very friendly & helpful, making concerted efforts to answer our questions and help with our purchases.

This store is amazing. Staff and mangers are great. Im sorry but I forgot their names. The managers name starts with an N. She was helpful and very pleasant. Smiled the entire time and knew everything about what she was selling. The cashiers were awesome and very nice. Id highly suggest this store to anyone looking for pet supplies or small pets. While I was there they had many fish and the tanks were spotless. They had many frogs, snakes, and lizards. Again tanks were spotless. They also had birds, hamsters, ferrets, and Guinea pigs. Amazing store. I have already sent friends and family and they always have had amazing experiences.

I had my lab Gracie groomed a week ago by Melissa and John. Gracie still smells great and her coat is so soft. This was her first time here and they instantly made her feel comfortable. Best of all she was completely dry when I picked her up. I would gladly recommend Pet Supplies Grooming.

My go to place for pet food. Yesterday, I was desperately looking for a specific bag of cat food. The associate (sorry, I didnt catch her name) asked me if I needed help, found the bag of food Id missed hidden among other bags and carried it to the register. She also had no problems using a rather long rewards coupon code Id been sent. Excellent customer service!

I was looking for a particular fish tank kit for my grandsons birthday that was difficult to get but Jennifer, the manager of Fishkill’s Pet Supplies Plus, went out of her way to locate one for me. And the staff was super helpful and knowledgeable. Dylan, Ava, & Cali answered all my questions about fish and fish supplies. Thanks guys!

The staff was amazing in helping look for a dog food; which had no pea flour. We never found a product at that location. That said, the employee who assisted me was excellent! .

They let their expensive cat grass die because they forgot to water it? Thats what their job is! I went a week later to get fresh grass, still had the dead grass there & noticed the catnip dying, I said something to the cashier but no reply, people suck!

I keep meaning to write a review for this place! They are so wonderful. They are knowledgeable and so friendly. Every single time. There is one girl who is THE sweetest. (forgive me, I don’t know her name, all I know is she has a dog like Toto from wizard of oz). Blonde. Looks like Jessica Simpson. (I swear. She really does!) Anyway, she is always so super sweet and helpful. I’ve never seen her in a bad mood. She’s a customer service rock star.

They did a great job with my dog. It was his first time there and they were happy to see him (he was very excited to see them as well). They were pretty spot on with their estimate of how long it would take. He came home very clean and very happy. Strongly recommend and Ill be using them again!

Brought my lab mix Mia to the groomer today for the first time. She is nervous in general so it was a challenge but Tori was wonderful ! Patient and understanding took her time with Mia and did her best to make Mia comfortable.I will be telling all my friends about Tori and everyone else on staff! Everyone is warm and welcoming to both myself and Mia every time we stop in for anything.The manager of this store really has done a wonderful job at hiring the best people I’ve seen in one store! Thank you Tori for making Mia smell beautiful again 🐕🤗

Unfortunately we will not going to bring our dog for his grooming. ..we recently lost two great groomers because this company doesn’t treat there employees well. My poor dog just recently had a grooming with two new groomers. My dog was shaken so bad and was in the cage over three hours.When we were told to pick him up the groomer said he in the cage because he was moving to much. When my dog Petey was ready to be picked up he was half done and not properly groom.He place him on the table with the collar around his neck and not gently. My dog was shaken all night. Four to five hours of torture. Please, if you love your pet I do not recommend to bring your furry pets there. My heart is broken. I can’t imagine what my poor dog was going through.

Always friendly and knowledgeable with options for my dogs diet, as he is allergic to just about everything which makes it very hard to find brands to accommodate him. Always pointed in the right direction and steered away from what food not to purchase, even when it is the most expensive! They care about your pet and not their wallets, which is hard to find nowadays!

Friendly and helpful staff. Very welcoming for pets as well. Sometimes certain things are out of stock....but thats probably because they have some of the lowest prices for high quality foods. Like the coupons but just dont see enough of them recently.

Pet Supplies in Fishkill no longer takes dollar for dollar price matches from chewy. They now charge you for the shipping cost. Also - under new management, Jennifer ASTL was very rude - not only to me but to a vendor that was there helping with the store’s rugs. Customer service is tough but kindness is not.

The staff is friendly but dont know so much about knowledgable, sometimes they are just wrong about the advice they give. Also, if they are running a sale you have to get there early because they run out of stock quickly and have no idea when those items will be back in stock.

First I want to say I give a 5 star to this store for their supplies and staff! Been going for many years and has always been a pleasure.As for the new self wash doggie wash, it was not so nice.1.They advertise how clean they keep it, IT WAS NOT!2.The only 2 large bath tubs that they have, were out of order in one way or another. One had a sign, out of order so after washing in the other one, I found that the dryer did not work on this one and had to move down to the other out of order one to use the dryer.3. There was NO SIGNAGE on how to use everything. I asked (who I think was a mgr) how to use everything and she kindly explained. Should not have had to even do that. And I am pretty savy when it comes to figuring things out. Weird set up!4. Tons of dog hair all over! When using blower it was like it was snowing, it was everywhere. So much for keeping it clean!5. The connection for the spray hose was installed too close to the handle where you adjust the water temperature. So as you moved the hose around to bath your dog, the water temperature was being changed! Plus the handle was super loose, broken.6. The cable to put around your dogs neck to keep them in place was at the OPPOSITE END of the water hose and temperature adjustment handle.PLUS the stationary step where you walk your dog in to the tub was right in front of this cable, making it impossible to stand there to bath your dog! So the cable was useless! NOT very good planning!7. The large dog tub was a bit too low, was hurting my back bending over. THIS WAS THE REASON FOR GOING THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE! ~(Our bath tubs are too low for bathing our dogs.)8. Nice that they supply towels, however, they were very stained and dirty looking.It was nice that they supplied water proof aprons for you to use, however, make sure you are not wearing good shoes or sneakers because the water runs down the apron and your feet get soaked.All in all this was a terrible experience!Very poor planning on the whole layout! OH... and no dividers in the room (one big open space) so you could potentially have 3 strange dogs all together on one floor. That could be a potential disaster!For being such a new place, it was terrible! Very sorry to say, they need to make some HUGE improvements!

Staff is awesome! Always willing to help! I have bad shoulder and knee and they bring my heavy bags of dog food to car all the time! However they recommend a vet in Poughkeepsie who is offers free first visit. I went and it cost me $600! They were absolutely awful vet! My experience was they only wanted to talk money and not my dog! They should remove those promo cards!

I used to love this place. I used to bring my goldendoodle there to be groomed. Rebecca, the first groomer was absolutely fantastic. Unfortunately, she retired. Daniella was our second groomer and she was just as fantastic. Unfortunately, she quit. Keep in mind my dog loved going in there. Anytime I went shopping for food, toys, and to be groomed he greeted everyone in the store and they were genuinely happy to see him. The feelings were reciprocated ten fold. The one mistake I made was having my dog groomed by the new groomer that started working there. From what he said, him and his driver were going to be the new groomers at PSP. What driver means? I couldn’t tell you that and I didn’t ask. Once I was called to pick up my dog, which was immediately because I was out in the parking lot, I noticed he was manhandling my dog. I didn’t say anything as it was the first time he met my dog and vice versa. I can tell you my dog looked the same as when I brought him in, he smelled the same as he did when I brought him in, and he couldn’t get out of the store fast enough. My dog was yelping and pulling me out of the store. I had to stop and pay for the services but I had to put my dog in the car first. With all that was going on and me being in disbelief, I paid but didn’t realize that I had been taken advantage of by this guy until I got back into the car. That day was the end of our relationship with PSP.

Staff is friendly. Place looks nice and prices arent bad. Only thing is I wouldnt get fish here. The tanks had a lot of dead fish and a lot of fish were sick. They were covered in white spots. Other than the fish they have a nice selection and I would come back. Just that day I was looking to buy fish so I had to go somewhere else.

Grooming ask for Celyn , she was great with my skittish , timid rescue . Harlow was happy when I got back , she was obviously treated kindly and smelled great . They also did her nails , they cut or file . I highly recommend her and I will be back again .

Ive spent ALOT of money at this store. Reason now for the 1 star is...1. Shelves are often empty, seems like nobody stocks them2. On another occasion I waited nearly 20mins for an employee to come by so I can get a 30lb bag of dog food from the top shelf.Finally 3. I was hounded by an elderly man whos employed here when I walked through the door for not wearing a face mask. You guys are seriously misinformed. That mandate was deemed UNCONSTITUTIONAL 2 weeks ago by a judge.I will not be spending my money here anymore!Anyone else reading this review, take your money elsewhere.

I went and had my puppy groomed today and the lady who did it Tammy was amazing. She was so kind and loving. I felt good having my puppy groomed by her. Im definitely going back.

This is my go to place for all my pet needs. They are usually well stocked and clean. The people who work there are very courteous and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this store.

My poor dog had lymes disease and was in too much pain to be groomed. After 3 groomers canceled on me I was so desperate I brought my dog here. The groomer refused to groom my dog said she would have to be sedated and sent to the vet to be shaved.. I have never encountered a professional groomer unable to manage a dog. I brought my poor baby home and used coconut oil to loosen the mats and was able to carefully remove the mats without shaving her bald and WITHOUT PAIN. My dog was falling asleep during this 3 hr process of carefully and gently working through the matted hair. Would not recommend , suggest going to a grooming salon not a pet store.

This store is such a pleasure to deal with. Should you need help. No Problem they are right there to help you find what you’re looking for. I have a special needs Dog, she has Diabetes🙁 The staff went through the dog food with me and read all ingredients for each bag we picked to make sure it was a food good for my Destiny. They spent a lot of time with me and were very very helpful even taught me things I did not know. For instance a diabetic dog should not eat Carrots which is good for most dogs but cannot be in the ingredients for Pets with diabetes. I asked my vet about the carrots and yes they were right stay away from carrots if your Pet has diabetesThanks Pet supplies Plus on Route 9 in Fishkill NY

Pet Supplies Plus Fishkill is a great store. They always have the pet food I give my dog. Have used their delivery services and never have a problem. Same day delivery, love your store!

If you have the option, go to the one in New Windsor. In my opinion, due to past experiences, they are more reliable and knowledgeable there. Went to this fishkill location for a water test and it was done improperly. Which is misleading and could have been a very harmful situation for the aquarium inhabitants 👎 Still 100× better than petsmart👍

I got my pet snake named Chiquita at this place and she is now over 3 years old and super cute, I am also looking to get a Ferret at this store.I also get my heat lamps and bedding from this place and they work good.I really recommend this pet supplies plus for any one getting a reptile❤️🐍

I go in to pet supplies plus in Fishkill quite often and I have to say that that is the most beautiful pet store I have ever been in ,it is very well organized and very clean , very easy to find what you are looking for..The staff is very friendly and helpful always a smile on there faces and I had the pleasure of meeting the manager and her assistant thay are very lovely peopleI would like to say thank you to all the staff for always be the most caring and helpful staff

All I can say is WOW, the last time I was in this store I purchased my little dogs food which are little individual plastic containers that are 1.3ozs and paid $1.78 each which is expensive being Walmart only charges &1.48 each, do to Walmart being out of them I went to Pet Supply Plus and they only had one flavor to choose from which is the same thing I found the week before, AND this time I paid $1.98 for each little individual container, this is ridiculous and I will NOT be getting the food there anymore when I can get 10 containers at Walmart for $14.80 I just can’t get over that this store is charging .50 cents more per container then other stores!!!!! Unreal

Its a real shame that you play with the feelings of young people, by interviewing a young woman and telling her that she qualified and that she would have to meet the store manager who was out that day but she will be in touch with you in a couple of days, well its been about a month and no one has call and ofcourse no one knows how this young girl feels about being missed lead by people who probably enjoy playing with young girls feeling, well I know exactly how she feels cause that young girl is my granddaughter but I believe in what goes around comes around, if I can get just one person to stop shopping at this place ill be happy.

The worst service Ive ever experienced and going there for 2 years and never had an issue till yesterday went there with my dog I was told to bring him back later even though I was on my schedule time because they were behind schedule which I refuse to do so that chroma tells me its going to be 90 minutes I get a call 40 minutes later telling me my dog is acting violent dont has never been violent in his life hes never been anybody hes never even walked all the sudden hes having all these issues Ive been bringing him there for two years never had an issue till yesterday all the sudden he became violent yesterday they have inexperienced rumors who dont know what theyre doing I had to go in there and hold my dog so he can try and cut his nails really you cant cut a dogs clipping clip the dogs nails by yourself youre the owner to hold them they had him in a muscle which is just unheard of so unprofessional then they charge me an extra $10 for handling I will never step foot in that place again

Store is a wreck today, poop in aisle 1 and pee all over aisle 2. Was going to get my dogs nails trimmed but the groomers don’t wear masks so I don’t want to be anywhere near that side of the store!!

The younger people to be as specific as possible are great and really happy all the time great staff being hired (the younger staff) but the older staff more thn a couple times have given the impression that they dont enjoy being there.

Very courteous and helpful staff. Went for some cat litter and customer loyalty card was out of date; and they helped get a new one right at the register.

Nice employees. Very organized store. A bit pricey, but, worth it for being a clean, local and well stocked pet store.

Knowledgeable staff but when i go in there i know exactly what i want and the associates spend more time trying to talk me out if it than helping me locate it so i can just purchase it and go about my day.

My dog loves going in here to pick out a treat or a new toy.

The groomers are great! Every month I bring my squirmy chihuahua here for nail clipping and we are in and out in less than 10 minutes. Best $10 ever spent. I get all my pet supplies here as well and have never had an issue.

This pet shop is conveniently located on Route 9, Fishkill. They sell a lot of pet supplies especially for dogs and cats.They have some good sales.

The staff are always very pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable. On a previous trip to the store, my puppy had destroyed a sturdy toy the staff assisted me in selecting for him. They took it back without any problems and replaced it. Its now his favorite toy! The only reason I didnt give them a 5th star was due to boxes on the floor in the aisles, a pet peeve of mine. I dont mind boxes on stools or chairs, etc. but not on the floor...this is a rare occurrence for them, by the way. 🙂..

Dog section is 3X size of cat section but still a decent selection of supplies and food at different price points. They had someone with kittens for adoption from Stray Help, and I was able to find a product Ive been looking for in other stores to no avail.
