Blydenburgh Dog Park Area

Live this park. Ive been going here all my life.So sad about Stump pond emptying out. Still the hiking trails are awesome.

Probably my favorite dog park on the island.. Decent sized space with open area but also woods in the park with a trail that wraps around. For the most part people are super friendly, everyonce in a while the vibe is off thou. There are community water bowls and a water spout/spicket to fill them. Two areas- one for 25 lb plus and one for under 25lb.. Its cool too be able to go for a hike after playing with friends or going down to the lake/pond to cool down on a hot day after running around

Nice dog park. Ample amount of shade. I like that there was more grass than dirt and a wooded enclosed area for my pup to explore. Also has a water fountain for your dog so you dont need to bring your own water.

Beautiful trails. The rain did a number here, too. Watch your footing, lots of roots. Ive been to a few trails(different parks) , and they are like that. Ot is so peaceful here.

People at the dogs go loose theres poop all over the place very dirty they should put wood chips. Also, I know dog owners think their pet doesnt need a leash, but we would appreciate it if you did put your dog on a leash. I had my dog on a leash, and a dog without a leash attacked her, I literally had to lay my body across him and cover him, but the dog was ready to attack me! please be respectful, and leash your dog!

Its a really nice place, huge fenced dog runs, beautiful hiking trails and a lake for those who enjoy paddling.

Great place for dogs to play. Its big so you can walk around with/without your dog or just simple let them play with other dogs while you relaxingI usually go here to practice taking dogs picture or sunset picture (there is a lake right next to dog area)

I love this place ! Sometimes a bit of drama at the fenced in dog park area but thats about it , Great place to bring your dog to get their excercise out !Update May 2022 - I still love this park so much! Ive been really taking advantage of the fishing here and its such a great time! And cant wait to come here with my kayak

Friendly dogs and owners. Some people should not bring their dog if they cant control the behavior. My dog almost got attacked twice by the same dog! Some lady told me you know if you pick up your dog its a target for the other dogs and I told her are you going to pay for my vet bill if anything was to happen to my dog and she didnt have anything to say. She said it rudely but other than that. This dog park is great!!

This place is amazing. We loved the enclosed wooded area — hard to find in dog parks! The dog run also has a ton of room for them to run around and fetch. We live 1.5 hours away but have to go back!

A good portion of the area is wooded, which is nice, and its a good sized dog park with hiking trails. Surprisingly grassy for the amount of foot traffic this place sees. Its nice they have chairs, but the pups love to wee on them. Stick to the benches if you plan to sit 😉

Best dog park ever BUT, if theres an old man there with an aggressive old German Shepard just leave. He has bitten many dogs including mine. If he doesnt bite he will just bark in your dogs face for couple mins then make his rounds to bark in the other dogs faces before coming back to your dog to bark in his face again. Just a couple bad apples that can ruin your day. Stay clear of them and the park is awesome for dogs!

Great views, easy hike🌲 all trails says it about 2 hours but took us 3 to finish. There are canoes/ kayaks there that are available to rent for 10$ (cash only) and bring your id! Huge lake which we let our pup play in. There is also an amazing dog park here, where half of it is forest that is fenced in. I love that because it makes a perfect place for off leash training and a huge playground for the doggos!

Beautiful place. Where I met this beautiful dog, who I believe is named Cooper, and his incredibly hot owner/friend/dad... Who I would love to frolic with again. 🥰

Let the dogs run free. Dog park is fenced in, probably an acre in size. Water bowls and poop bags available. Excellent parking in the middle of the countryside. Definitely the local dog park, always a half dozen digs enjoying themselves and owners enjoying the peace and quiet. Good times, worth the trip - your dog will love you.

The dog park look very good. Although there were a lot of dogs in their loose which is what the dog park is for. I did not answer with my dog

This is a big beautiful park. You can walk around with your dog if you like, go to the picnic area or go to the enclosed area for dogs. My pocket pitbull and i enjoyed ourselves in the enclosed are for dogs. Its really spacious and she enjoyed playing with the other dogs that were at the park that day. (Both big and small)

Our dogs have always enjoyed this large dog park. There is lots of space to run and play. People are always nice with well.behaved dogs.

Very nice park. We are only here visiting family and decided to bring our puppy with us. She loved it! We loved that it had a water feature for them. It was large, she had a blast trying to roam the whole park. Will definitely be there a few times to give her a chance to stretch her legs

The area for big dogs (25lbs and over) is great for them to run around. Huge fenced in yard with a little trail/wooded area.. Lots of water bowls and a cold water fountain.. poop bags near the entrance.. grassy area beyond the mulch area and lots of benches in shade. Only complaint is the wasps or hornets in the grass area (not sure if that can be managed though) and the fence seems a little low, for big dogs that jump high, just be cautious! Overall great place to bring your pup where they don’t need a pooch pass!!

The best dog park and hiking trails in the Island!

I love this dog park! Here, dogs have the opportunity to socialize in an open field or explore the forest together in a space thats completely fenced in. Additionally, there are plenty of seats spread out throughout the dog run so you have a great chance of finding a place to rest while your dog plays with the others.

I love this place, just not all of the people that go there. Your dog IS your responsibility. Ive seen people bring their dog inside the fenced in area and then return to their vehicle to sit there with the heat on. Ive seen people so involved in whats on their cellphone that they forget about their pup. Ive seen ignorant owners and ill behaved dogs running amok.Mind your dog, they ARE your responsibility. Clean up after your dog, it IS your responsibility.Unfortunately the bad ones can make the good ones not want to come.I rarely go anymore

It was really big with a forest on part of the dog park. there is a small dog area, everyone is friendly.Make sure to bring your own doggie bags and there isnt a steady supply. I borrowed 3 from the park as I left mine in my car but ended up leaving some of mine there as there are signs about using your own bags

This is a really spacious dog park with a separate area for small dogs, a grassy and woodchip area for play, and a wooded area with a path. The dog families that I have encountered have been very friendly, and the park is well kept.

This is a wonderful dog park. It is very large and open, the dogs have plenty of room to run. The people are always friendly and considerate too, in my opinion.

This is a hidden gem for your furry friend. They have to dog park setup. One of them set up for small dogs and the other one set up for large. The large one you can walk your dog around and feel like youre in the woods. Both the small and large Park are much bigger than Ive ever seen for any other dog park in Smithtown.

A good place to be a dog. Trees and grass and plenty of pooch friends to meet. Plus, you can leave the dog areas to hike the paths.

Im new to the area with a tiny 3lb dog. The staff was gracious enough to let me drive through to view the park. I was happy to see they had an area for dogs under 25lbs.The park is beautiful and Im hoping to camp there soon.Thank you for allowing me to view.

Been going to dog park almost daily for few years. Morning visitors are all a friendly bunch. All of their dogs are on great behaviour. No dog fights and all owners keep the area clean. Its peaceful and deer are all over the surrounding grounds.

One of the few dog friendly parks. Nice fenced space with double gates and two areas for different sizes of dogs. Has benches, so plenty of room for dogs and their humans to socialize.

We were in the small dog park on Sunday, not the biggest plave weve been but plenty of room to playThe fence separating this from the large dog area is low, so some might be concerned but it seems ok to us. Good group of dogs and polite friendly owners.

A fun safe way to socialize your dog off leash with other dogs and other people. Most of the people are friendly and easy going. The park is clean. The entire park is open to dogs on a leash.

This dog park is so lovely! Lots of larger dogs who were all friendly and a mix of open area + covered tree area that is great for training.

I actually was not in the dog park. I was walking around the main park grounds. It was lovely, I have to say, I am wondering about the blue stuff (spots) on trees and even pine cones. I have never seen a blue pinecone. I would like to get in touch with a botanist or anyone who might know what these growths are. I have taken pictures.

Place is awesome. More than enough space that is cleared for the dogs to run around and you to be with them, and there’s also a huge portion that is ungroomed so the dogs can run through the trees and the leafs

Very large area for large dogs.Tiny area for for small dogs. Lax dog owner had a German Shepherd(large) that was able to climb up and over and out of the fence.Let the fog run free and kept saying it was O.K.Alerted Park Ranger about it and they were told.Dog owners are the worst.No supervision of their pets.!!!!!

AA really nice size dog park dog park both for the small dog section oxygen under 25 pounds and for the larger dog.All kinds of trails to wonder and great dogs and people to meet.

As with any dog park can be variable experience. Overall though responsible owners and nice dogs. Open area for running and small wooded area. Tons of trails for leashed walking in rest of park

Huge space completely fenced in. The area includes woods that are also enclosed. Dogs were friendly and so were their owners. It is a great place to hike with your dog as well.

Beware of that pond... My lil wildling, went for a dip.She was throwing up for a full day the next day. She usually is very good with forests, waters, scrounging. But this spot has been sketch. (2nd time this happened. This time it was super scary) Maybe something to do with the landfill here. The cap might be compromised... Stay away from the water

Love the combination of open field to nature trail that the pups can explore on there own. One of my favorite dog parks.

Beautiful place to walk and hike around. Nice access to the lake for our dogs to swim and play. Also the dog play pen are big for them to chase around.

Great park. Great dog owners too. Lots of room, even a little trail on the back and a wooded area to explore.

I really matters what other dogs are there . The pen is huge for both small and large dogs . Good clean water and the fences are in perfect condition.

I liked the space and its divided into over 25lbs dog and under 25lbs. I seen the small dog area, also big enough for those dogs.

Used to be grassy now its wood chips. Not good. Better option: Get off your lazy butt and walk your dog on a trail around the lake.

This park is huge and has a great landscape and layout. Needs to maintained better . The mud and puddles. Make the experience horrible.

Was going here alot years ago ,that dog passed and have another now.Park area is kinda falling apart ,gates are loose and open area needs fresh wood chips. Looks like they havent been done in years.

Nice big park, about a 6 acre fenced in dog park, half of which is wooded. Lots of shade.

My suggestion is about the lake , has to much algae, may be for the next season cut be cleaning because this is bad for the environment, the fishes can be die and other spices too.

Great place to camp or have family gatherings, very clean has on site water and restrooms.make reservation 2 days in advance also has dump station and dogs are allowed, friendly and helpful staff. I was there for five days and it was very relaxing I plan on going back as possible.

Amazing place to take your dog. Huge fenced in area for your pup to run. Just be sure to keep a mindful eye on your pet because some owners come here to socialize. Also, watch your step!

Love going here with my dogs. Always other dogs here and people are friendly. Dog park itself is pretty big and has a small pen for smaller dogs so they dont have to run around with large dogs

Love to bringing my dog to this park, he gets so excited when he releases we are going to the dog park! Dogs are usually friendly their, just always keep an eye on your dog and stay close to them.

Theres not to many places you and your pet can go where you dont have to worry about fleas. It would be great though to some exercise equipment for the dogs.
