Dr. Gallo has been my pups vet since his second visit after his adoption, and it’s always a great experience. The techs are super helpful, especially Lysette (my pup’s favorite!). I ask a ton of questions because my pup has a traumatic rescue and first few years of life, and I’ve never had an issue with them being answered. Highly recommend.

This place has changed POORLY DRASTICALLY!!!I’ve been bringing my dogs here for about 8 yrs. We live in another state and drive out to come here all the time. Dr.Uche was our doctor. She was so attentive and so caring for our dogs. She always recommended appropriate treatment. But she relocated/left. The other doctors there I can’t tell them apart but they are all about charging you for things. It’s like they see how much you care about your pet and use that to manipulate you into services. The biggest issue here is the front seat staff. A hunch of young people who sit on their phones. I took my dog there for an appointment I stood there for about 2 minutes till I spoke up rudely unfortunately. They sat on their phones and don’t acknowledge ppl at all. Same with when it was time for me to pay the hefty bill I got. I almost walked out. We’re done here. It’s not the same.

I recently visited village Animal Hospital and had a mixed experience. The staff was friendly and caring, which was a significant positive aspect. However, they struggled to accurately diagnose my dogs condition, leading to an unnecessary medication and a decline in my dogs health.Despite this issue, the staff was understanding and tried their best to help when we returned. I am giving them a 4-star rating, with the hope that they will continue to improve their diagnostic and treatment services. Their compassionate approach makes them a potentially excellent choice for pet owners.

When we were losing our bulldog, she and her team called every day to see check on us. Even checked on us after we lost him. Now, we have a puppy and he loves her and the staff. So you know what they say, dogs know good people! Choose them, you wont be disappointed!

Not nice at all!!I used to wait to see the dr. Sometime 30-40 min delay from the actual appointment. I have never complained due to for delay of the other appointments or emergency. In my case this time, I was late 15min. due to traffic, they cannot see my dog!I’m very upset and not fare at all.I really do not want to go back to this place at all!!!!!!!!Don’t take it wrong. Dr. Gallo is still fantastic! All about the admin and the substitute dr.I am NOT Happy at all. And I am never go back there again.

I have been bringing my two dogs here for more that 10 years. I don’t know what happened but the care is now horrible. There is no empathy for my elderly dog who has gone blind and needs regular pressure checks to regulate his pain. I get no help from the office. If I want routine care for his pain I am told to go to emergency care in White Plains. Just absolutely heartless treatment for a sweet elderly dog in need.

I am a rescue dog momma of older dogs. When others always want the cute little puppies, I always take the older ones. With that being said these fur babies usually come with many issues and sometimes I dont have them for that long. Dr. Sykes is amazing she is the most caring and compassionate Vet you will every meet. Dr. Gallo is the same. They call you and check in they follow up. They have answers to your questions and they never make you feel like you are crazy. My dogs love going to the vet, they would stay all day the staff is great and my dogs are a handful. I have sent of my friends to this vet and everyone of them has been pleased. The times that I have had to make that tough decision to say goodbye to one of my babies, they are right next to you the entire time. I could not even think of going any place else.

I had been taking my cats here for over four years. At first I found them reliable and honestly but now I am so sorry I didn’t take my pet somewhere else sooner. They basically gave up on my 17 year old cat, who was losing weight with no definitive answer why. Later when I asked for her medical history because I was going to seek a second opinion it tuned out she had a lesion on her gum which then got infected and now she has lost 5 teeth. Was not told about the lesion or offered anything to treat it, and was only offered an appetite stimulant once she didn’t put on enough weight for surgery. I will be taking my pets somewhere that provides better care

We do not have enough great things to say about the team at Village Animal Hospital in Larchmont! We have a pit mix and going to the vet the last 10 years has been a very stressful experience, for owners, pet, and vets alike. Sidney the vet tech spent about 10 minutes getting to know our dog and making him feel relaxed throughout the visit. Weve never had ANYONE at a vet take that time to bond and relax with him prior to seeing the doctor. He was extremely thorough in the questions he asked to initially assess our dogs health. Then, Dr. Sykes blew us away with her pleasant manner with our dog. She ended up performing a surgery and he is doing great. Follow-up care with Dr. Gallo has been excellent as well! She got on her knees and went right up to his face to soothe and relax him, and he responded great! Another feat accomplished that was never tried at other vets. Highly recommended for people with anxious pets who have had bad experiences in the past.

They are so compassionate and respectful of your feelings. I was able to spend as much time as I wanted with him in a quiet room. The doctors and staff are so kind and helpful. They really make you feel comfortable in such a difficult time. Aside to that, they always help when needed. We were able to get an appointment when needed even when they didnt have openings, they would fit us in. I love their hours and reception is always professional. The Techs are amazing! I HIGHLY recommend this place for anyone looking for the BEST CARE for their four legged family member. Snowflake is with Flurry at the Rainbow Bridge together and healthy again. We’ve been taking our dog here since we first got her 4 years ago. Up until this past visit, we had nothing but good things to say. This time was different. Our dog was vomiting for a full day, so we brought her in the next morning and an xray was done. I was questioned multiple times if my dog eats squeaker toys to which I said no, but they (2 different doctors there) insisted there was one in her stomach. They told me feed her chicken and rice for the day and do a 12 hour fast and come back the next day for another xray on an empty stomach to see if it was definitely that or not. I was satisfied w the suggestion and did exactly that. The next day I came back for her second xray and a different doctor was there. This doctor swore up and down she had a squeaker toy in her stomach as well. This vet told us she needed emergency surgery and told us to go to a vet hospital that didn’t have a scope or ultrasound technology to really check, just ready to throw her into a dangerous surgery into her abdomen. We asked if money wasn’t an issue, would she still suggest this location? We just wanted to know if this was a hospital to be trusted or if it was just the least expensive option. She still said yes and later said she does surgery there herself sometimes. I ended up asking for the xray to be sent to 3 different hospitals as well as emailed to me because I wanted my husband to discuss it with me before making a decision.Me and my husband decided to play it safe and go up to Cornell Veterinary Hospital in Stamford because they could do an ultrasound on her. Turns out there was no squeaker toy in her or anything else. I asked the doctor there what she thought of the X-rays, because I myself thought they weren’t good X-rays and personally couldn’t see any signs of a squeaker. I’m no doctor, but wanted their opinion. They saw absolutely nothing via the xray. They did an ultrasound and kept her for a few hours. It turned out to be simply a virus. Village never called us to check up on her to see how she was doing or anything. We are so shocked and disappointed in this animal hospital we are besides ourselves.

Dr. Sykes, is amazing. I have had many animals through the years and have dealt with various veterinarians. Dr. Sykes is one of the best I have ever come across She is kind and gentle with your pet, expresses genuine concern that is way too rare in this profession, she is articulate in explanation and not only listens to what your concern may be....but hears what your concern may be. ...from both you AND your pet. Dr. Sykes is easy to communicate to and has a genuine love for all animals, which is demonstrated in her behavior with your pet. I highly recommend Dr. Sykes.

The entire staff is helpful and professional, wouldnt take my Mollie anywhere else. I have been a client of VAH since before Drs Gallo and Sykes took over the practice. When my daughter adopted a Pit Bull puppy, Riley, we stayed because we felt their care, love and commitment right away. The ancillary staff has always glowed with their enthusiasm and devotion to all animals. Unfortunately last Tuesday, October 26th, I had to make the hardest decision I’ve ever made- to allow Riley to be euthanized. It was a sudden onset of neurological decompensation. Our attending Vet (my apologies for not remembering names) as well as the techs, were so kind and supportive and gave me all the time (and tissues) I needed.Riley was more than a patient at VAH for 11 years. She actually got so excited when we pulled in to the parking lot. She received not only excellent care, but care given with enthusiasm, joy and love. I wish I did not have to lose Riley how and when I did. I am a hospice nurse and know all of what happens around death and dying. But it is so very different and difficult to be on the other side and not be able to rely on one’s compassionate professionalisms.I cannot put into words my gratitude to your staff. I know I was in shock and likely did not let you all know how much your care and kindness meant. When I am ready, I will be back with my next baby so he/she can be a recipient of your care. With all our gratitude,Kathy ByrneRyan DonaghyIf you have any way to contact Dr Mary Sykes, please forward this to her. You have my permission to give her my contact information She was Riley’s primary, though never exclusive doc for all 11 years. Riley got from Marythe best of her person and her profession. I know myself how important and difficult that is.And Dr Gallo-you were so wonderful with Riley all these years. I wish I had seen you before Riley left us. I thank you with all my heart.

MONEY HUNGRY.I used to like this place, thought the staff was compassionate. However, my recent experience has shown me otherwise. My sister brought her sick cat in and they did all sorts of tests without telling her the cost of each. After she paid a $770.00 vet bill, she still didnt get a straight answer as to what was going on with her cat. They wanted her to come back, to get other tests done which would cost even more. Within a week, the cat was in such bad shape she had to be put down. Now you cant tell me that they didnt see something very wrong come up in those tests. They could have given some options to help the cat, or more cost effective ways to treat her.Very upset with the treatment my sister was given, to see her in tears over this has made me totally dislike this place, and I will be sure to tell my friends who are pet parents NOT to go here. I have 3 dogs and 2 cats and I will be sure to take them elsewhere.

This review is in regards to the boarding services listed on their website as a service provided by this location. The 2-star review is only for this topic. For vet services I would give them a 4-5 star as weve never had any issues when making a vet-only visit.Boarding is listed on the VCA website for this location as boarding you can trust and ideal if your pet needs special attention or monitoring. We didnt anticipate needing these things when making the reservation months ago, but as our day of boarding got closer our pup was displaying some guarding and anxiety issues causing her to growl and warn people getting close to her. The week of boarding I phoned the vet to discuss this. I let them know all my concerns - for the dog, her behavior, the staffs safety, etc. I was clear and communicative about her possibly needing a muzzle or special handling to protect anyone should she show any of these signs during boarding. I very directly asked if this might be an issue we would be denied boarding because of. I was assured that the boarding wouldnt be an issue and that notes would be added to her file and I should also mention it all again upon check in. In the same call I inquired about the pet counseling (aka vet behaviorist) service listed on the website but the staff member I spoke to seemed completely unaware of that service and provided a phone# to a third-party trainer (not vet behaviorist - and I already had a trainer). But I was also told the staff could be helpful in monitoring behavior during the dogs stay.On the day of boarding, we checked in and communicated all concerns as we were instructed to do. The staff member doing our paperwork wrote use caution on the top label of our check in sheet - indicating she clearly heard everything Id said. We were placed in a vet room to wait for a vet tech to take the dog to the kennels. When the vet tech arrived, the dog was visibly anxious - having waiting over 45 mins for someone to come and attend to us. She woofed loudly at the vet tech while my husband was still holding her on leash and the vet tech left the room. No one came back to speak to us for 10 more minutes so I left the room to inquire what was happening. It was then that I was informed that their hospital-style kennels werent going to work for my dog and they had decided not to board her. Normally I would understand - except that I had communicated my concerns TWICE to multiple staff members in anticipation of this being an issue. Finding out last minute makes me believe that they either didnt listen, didnt believe me, or wanted to try to get my money for boarding regardless of what I was saying.Small help - which earned them the 2 star instead of 1 star in this review is that they recommended another kennel in the area and made a phone call on our behalf to see if there was availability for checking in that day. The kennel we were recommended to was wonderful, and had some professional tricks to ease the dog with a game of switching the leash to coax her into their care. And incidentally, she was not anxious and perfectly well behaved for her entire stay, allowing staff handling, walking, petting, etc. So be warned that Village Animal Hospital just wants your money, is clueless about dog behavior, does not have a vet behaviorist on staff, and only has hospital-style kennels despite the website information about your dogs comfortable boarding with additional amenities available.Note - I previously reviewed their Vet services and was very pleased.reviewed Village Animal Hospital — 5 starFebruary 26 ·Wonderful, caring staff! So great with the animals too. And they take the time to explain options, medications, treatments so you can make good choices for your pets. Even on a hectic Saturday we felt like we got good attention to our well being and our puppys health.

Dr Gallo is abouslutely amazing a breathe of fresh air. I have a senior pit bull mix and she was diagnosed with heart disease and soft cell cancer from the vets over in ardsley. the vet in ardsley was terrible she left me in the dark with minimal info given and rushed me out. So I went for an second opinion from Dr Gallo she took the time to address all my concerns and gave me a step by step process of what I should do she explained her illness to me thoroughly. I recommend every pet owner to come here I’ve been in between vets for years and I think I found what I’ve been looking for oh and being a pet owner without insurance the prices are reasonable but I’m more about the service that I received. The care plans they offer are absolutely amazing.

We have used Village Animal since we rescued our Beagle 3 years ago. Every experience has been fantastic but this past week was incredible. We were away in California when we received a frantic call that the owner of the kennel we were using had suddenly died and all the pets needed to be picked within 24hrs! My stress level was thru the roof and I immediately called Village Animal to see if they could help. Andre in the office was so comforting and offered to personally pick up Bennett at the kennel to get him out of that manic situation. He updated me every step of the way, when he picked up and how he had resettled at Village Animal. He even stayed an extra hour after the office closed so we could pick up Bennett as soon as we were back in Westchester. It was a true testament to the care and concern the entire staff has for the pets in their care!
