Dog Wizardry

Ivan has been wonderful with our dog. We are first time dog owners, and our pup is a shy, somewhat anxious guy. We felt very overwhelmed before reaching out to Dog Wizardry. Ivan has helped us understand our dog’s language and given us the confidence to help train him. He has been so communicative and easy to reach. His passion for helping animals and their families is evident . He gave us the tools to deal with all of our pup’s various issues. As a result of working with him, our dog is now very much a part of our family. He’s happier and more confident, as are we! Highly recommend!

Ivan has been helping work with my 6 month old Staffy puppy, Archie. Ivan is very knowledgeable and compassionate and really prioritizes my dog’s fullfilment and well-being. His training and work with Archie has really helped me realize that my puppy has the potential to do so much. I can’t recommend him enough.

Ivan was amazing with my pup, Rizzo!! He immediately connected with her and taught me how to train her efficiently and effectively. I never felt rushed and he took the time to make sure I was clear and doing things correctly. Highly recommend!!!

Ivan has been spectacular with my dog Hudson. He has brought a calm and professional energy to our every session. And my dog is excitable but calms as soon as Ivan arrives. Ivan follows up with homework assignments with me and Hudson. Checking in. I feel we hit the jackpot with our Trainer. It is obvious that Hudson thinks so too.

I believe dog wizardry is the place to go to help your furry babies. I can’t literally yesterday and explained my issue about my puppy only peeing on the weepad and how she will hold it in til we would get home even if we were out all day. And Ivan explained to me that he won’t say that he can’t help start to pee outside within the next hour but he was willing to talk to me about my puppy and offer me amazing advices and some tricks that I have never even heard of. As a dog parent who is willing to help my puppy in any way, I want to thank Ivan and dog wizardry for offering to try to help me through this issue in a quick notice. I can’t wait to try everything that Ivan informed me of. Ivan knows that even though he can’t force my dog to pee outside, he was kind enough to offer to help in no matter way he could. Ivan worked with our family and our medical service dog. Working with Ivan was a great experience. He truly is the Dog Wizard. He has a great approach and understanding of dogs as well as their people. Ivan helped us and our dog prepare for the public access assessment and by the time we were done working with him we were completely confident with our dog’s skills. We are all very grateful that we were able to work with and learn from Ivan.

Working with Ivan has been an excellent experience! Ivan helped us with training our service dog who was specifically a diabetic alert dog . We worked on techniques at our local mall, our pet store, restaurants ....all over town. Each training our dog responded more consistently & appropriately- Ivan was like the dog whisperer. Ivan is calm gentle and he listens to what the owner needs & to what the dog needs. I was so impressed with his approach & how our dog positively responded. I highly recommend Ivan !

We used Ivan to initially assess what training our newly adopted Maltese may have already had. Ivan did a great job identifying areas that needed work and helped us train around basics and more advanced behaviors. Ivan has given us many options for training with wide range of opportunities to succeed with our service dog! We are looking for ways to help train our service dog for our autistic child and he has studied and trained and gone out of his way to find answers and better opportunities for us and setting the right achievable goals for the service dog. He’s also open her eyes to other opportunities for our dog with and showing us to have a happier healthier life for her! The time Ivan spent with me and my Diabetic Alert Dog was time well spent, even though short! He has the natural ability, I’ll call it a gift, to not only connect with dogs but to connect that dog to their “person” and vice versa. Our family fundraised for an Autism Service Dog for our son and reached our goal before COVID hit. Unfortunately, the company claimed bankruptcy before we could receive our service dog. We met Ivan through a Facebook support group and his compassion for families like ours was evident. He’s pledged to help us find a new dog and train him/her to be a service dog for our son. From the beginning, Ivan has been responsive to our phone calls and texts, he sends us articles about finding the best dog and once we receive the dog, how to prepare ourselves to continue training at home. He has dispelled the promises/lies/misconceptions of the Bankrupt service dog company. He has given us hope again!Ivan is extremely dedicated to his career and his craft and wants to help families. He’s constantly researching and meeting with other trainers, striving to learn new techniques such as search and rescue training. This specific training is essential to an ASD service dog since children on the spectrum have the propensity to wander or bolt. We’re eager to continue on this journey and Ivan is an excellent “guide”!-Mike and Kristen

I got a diabetic alert service dog a couple years ago and had Ivan as my trainer for a couple of training visits. He was very professional. He genuinely wants to help you and cares a lot about you being successful in the training of your dog. I learned a lot from him and he helped me understand the basis for a dog’s behavior. I feel more comfortable and confident being a handler of my service dog.

I currently have an Autism Service dog and have worked with Ivan in person and over the phone. Ivan is very knowledgeable and gives out great advice with our ongoing training with our dog. Without his training visit and advice I don’t know what we would have done! Not only do you get a dog trainer but you get somebody who genuinely cares. He wants the dog to succeed to its best for the person that needs him and it really shows!

Ivan is wonderful, personable, and very knowledgeable. He helped my dog Pearl recover from a fear of going for walks after she developed anxiety because of the 4th of July fireworks. I was at a loss before he helped me and my dog. I highly recommend him!

A few days after taking home a challenging rescue I was discouraged, multiple failures can be fatal for any rescue animal. Ivan’s help has made me feel more confident in my ability to train him. Ivan’s instructions are priceless. Your pet’s immediate reaction to him will blow your mind. Introducing weight pulling will change everything for this dog.

I recently rescued a GoldenDoodle who was exhibiting some (what I thought) were aggression issues. Thank goodness Ivan came to the rescue, as I have 2 young sons and another dog at home. We needed this new pup to fit into our family, not disrupt it.Believe it or not, I knew Ivan in high school! We recently ran into each other after 20 years. In the process of catching up, he told me that he trains service dogs.Turns out, I recently rescued a Golden Doodle named Kodi that was displaying dangerous behaviors towards my children, guests and my other dog!Ivan thoughtfully assessed the situation and told me that he didn’t think it was an aggression issue.He focused on what was causing the issues. He said that Kodi had a bad association with doors. My dog reacted every time somebody was coming in or out of the house, or when my kids were putting on their backpacks to leave the house, etc.Before I rescued Kodi, the previous owner kept him locked behind doors for 18 hours a day.Long story short, Ivan helped me solve the problem.After that, I asked him if he could help me with some commands that service dogs do, to help my son with anxiety.Ivan taught me some behaviors like nudging and kissing my son on command to stop him from meltdowns. The best part is...it works!As a family, we are absolutely thrilled that Ivan has shared his dog training expertise with us! Kodi is now an asset instead of a liability!

We are so grateful that we found Dog Wizardry. They are responsive, caring, knowledgeable. They helped bring out the best in our dogs during the training sessions and gave us great tips so that we could practice with them on our own too. And best of all, they were always available between sessions to answer our questions and provide reassurance. We highly recommend them!

Ivan has worked with our family and diabetic alert dog Dahl for over a year. We have learned many ways to develop Dahls skills in alerting to our daughters blood sugar highs and lows. Also helped us get Dahl to come on the first call when she is out in the fields. His techniques are gentle and never negative which we love. He is also just a phone call away when I have questions or concerns. Highly recommend him as a trainer.

Ivan is intuitive and thoughtful. He helps us to see through the eyes of a dog. We learn something we can practice and apply with every session.

Ivan was great he was very calm and patient with my dog showed me a lot of new things for training and he has some great prices. Looking forward to do continued training with him

Ivan is an amazing trainer. He’s helped me so much with my German shepherd. I highly recommend working with him as he is someone that truly cares about the animals he works with.

Ivan was very helpful in giving me suggestions for not only my two dogs butalso my cat. He took his time and was veryvested, interested and concerned with the issues that needed to be addressed and the various ways to approach them. He made himself available for future questions, which just indicated to me his genuine love and dedication to his work.

Ivan Knows more about dogs than anyone I’ve ever met. He trained me how to teach my Beagle off leash recall.

Ivan is truly the dog wizard. We love having him train our Jaxson! We have seen so much improvement in such little time.
