Beats the other big box per store generally price wise and actually has stuff in stock like crickets

While I usually like this location I recently came in to grab a few items and overheard what seemed to be a manager stating that people in the ghetto need flea collars to use on themselves.It was easily the most disgusting thing Ive overheard in a retail setting in years.Ill go to Pet Smart instead.

My go-to place for my dogs meals, some treats, leads, collars and leashes. My family has gone here for dog food for a little over 20 years. They have a dog tag maker in the front when you come in and a grooming station in the back of the store. Every now and then they have special events here for pets. My family had a fish a while back [Beta] and they had fish products too. Saw several cat items there. The staff is knowledgeable and the parking is spacious. If you have a pet and youre in this area, stop on by.

Aracelli in the grooming department did an excellent job with my very timid 4 month old puppy. She was patient and made the experience so much less stressful for us both. Reasonable prices too.

I went in looking for specific items. I circle the store trying to find them. I usually get greeted by the associates but didnt on this trip. They all appeared to be busy. I came upon a young man name James. I had asked him if he could help me. He was very fimiliar with the products I wanted & made suggestions on which product to purchase. I then asked him if he could also help me in finding a particular cat condo as there werent any on the shelves. He stated hell check in the back. A few minutes later he came out with the item that I wanted. I was so happy that they had it in stock.I wanted to praise this young man for his help & professionalism. James was very patient and polite. It made my shopping experience great one!!Thank you Pet Supply Plus for having such a nice man working for you!!!My cats are pleased!!

Best pet store in the area hands down! Prices can be a little expensive especially when compared to other local or online options however the service and product quality is worth it 100%. The staff is excellent- friendly, helpful! Some have experience and can solve anything and some (seems like a few young new hires) have great personalities and seem very kind.Store manager Tim got himself involved when order pick up item was out of stock and not only replaced at no cost but hand picked better items with me to make sure I was satisfied.Returning customer for grooming services as well and cannot rave enough about Bianca! Treats my senior pit with the most love and care she’s experienced & she now goes back with so much less anxiety!

Very helpful staff, helped pick out some fish, and took time to answer all our questions even though it was busy.

Krixus went to see Jennie who is a new Groomer and oh man did she do a beautiful job ! He got a bath and brush and we added the doodle package to deshed and this is the first time I have brought him home and still 3 days later he isnt shedding, he’s super soft and he was so happy ! Jennie has a true passion for animals and it shows and she is extremely good at handling all breeds ! I highly recommend you take your pup to her for all your grooming needs ! Plus I got new collars for all my animals while I was there and It’s so convenient to stores I was able to grocery shop snd she held him until I got back to get him :)

I went there for the visiting vet service as my regular vet has gotten too expensive for me. They were friendly, fast and cost so much less than my regular vet. My 2 dogs had blood work, shots and I bought medicine.This service is available every other Sunday from 10 am -11:30 am.

Very organized and easy to find things. Has a dog grooming area. Has parrots, ferrets, fish and lots of other pets.

I am very disappointed by what I saw. I came into the store on 3/18/24 to purchase some aquatic plants for my aquarium. I was so disturbed to see the conditions the animals in the store were in. One of the fish tank had LOTS of dead fish. The fish still alive were all in the corner of the tank gulping desperately and appeared to be deprived of oxygen. I could see fish dying off the few minutes I was in the store. I don’t know if a filter broke but that’s so cruel and inhumane to deprive your fish of oxygen. There was a hamster laying in it’s own feces in the hamster wheel. Also, some of the birds looked unwell and very unhealthy. I decided not to purchase any plants because I could not support a business keeping animals in such conditions. Do better. The workers all appeared to not be concerned with the conditions of the animals and were standing around looking at their phones. I’m not going to blame them because that is on the owner or managers to properly train their employees and be aware of animal care and upkeep. Seriously, if you allow tons of dead fish to sit in their tanks.. what else are you neglecting? Please do a better job of caring for your animals in the store.

Pet supplies plus has always been my go too for my dog supplies, its quiet and small local feel, staff are friendly and helpful, even got to hold a baby boa when it escaped the cage, and the girl was scared to put it back in hahahahah, not to mention i like the selection of foods its a decent sized variety of things from mass produced to the healthier brands.

Was here for pups vaccines. They need to start setting appts or time frames. A very long line to wait in..adults getting ansy and dogs losing it...heaven help you if you bring the children...hahahaBut do appreciate the service

Small but has a lot to offer. Really nice staff as well can answer just about any question you have about your pet. My fur baby has a really sensitive tummy and they were able to help me find a brand that she does well with and wasnt too harsh on price either. Thank you!

I went in with my wife and 2 year old son on Sunday 3/5/23 to look at getting new fish as a few of ours died off. The women who helped us was so helpful, answered all of our questions with knowledge and recommendations! She even went above and beyond to include our son to help feed the birds treats and he absolutely loved it! Thanks for everything!

1st time visiting here and it definitely wont be the last! Friendly staff, clean and easy to navigate, and from my quick (mental) price comparison for the Mart of Pets, a few of my go to items were $1 or more cheaper! My Pitty and Yorkie have both gotten their nails trimmed here and I have zero issues with them. Overall, a very happy and satisfied customer.

Sorry to say we had to get a refund because the dog was was so nasty and filled with hair we could not use it waste of time and gas when I use to go a year ago it wasn’t that bad at all but that was crazy

Well everything was great Tim the manager of the saltwater fish was very helpful but then 2 days after I got my fish my spotted mandarin died and they wont refund or even exchange it for me he came straight out and said they dont do anything with saltwater fish at all they sell them but wont even exchange it for me! NEEDLESS to say I will not ever be shopping there again after I spent over $220! Any other pet store would be doing that so they get a 1 star and I think thats too good for them!

I was hoping for more supplies for guinea pigs, but nope. Its about the same in Rome, too. All sorts of stuff for everything else.

Decent section of cat food and prices fairly average as long as you have their loyalty card. Store is clea, fairly easy to navigate, and and employees are :+#-ng! As. Im sure Ill be back when Im in pinch, again.

Love these guys !They have good prices even compared to the big box stores, and theyre great about making sure youre not getting overcharged for something .They have a more unique selection than other stores along with more Specialty Foods. The self dog wash is an amazing value and its really convenient to be able to wash your dog without making a mess at your own house.The staff is always super friendly and they genuinely seem to care about animals.

Prices are a little bit INSANE, otherwise decent store. A little unorganized, and the cash register doesnt always ring in proper pricing according to some of their promotions and clearance items. Staff is friendly though. 3 stars for effort.Update a year later: Id like to first address that I am cheap LOL, which is likely why my first initial review read as it did. But now Id have to say this is my go-to store for all of my pet needs. The self service bathing area for the dogs is always clean, staff is always incredibly helpful, theyve helped clean up my nervous pups doody more times than Id like to admit! Prices are competitive, and after shopping around other retailers Ill say that if youre looking for quality this is the place.

Most of the time its great I buy all my dog supplies there. But yesterday the girl that waited on me was rude caustic and pushy. If I did not need the supplies I would have walked out. I wish I could remember her name as I would post it. Im sure my next visit will be much more pleasant and enjoyable.

Everyone working there is very helpful and very friendly..... regardless of how busy the store may or may not be.... and when I have a question the response time is almost immediate. I shop there for cat food, dog food and treats, fish and turtle food... good prices and nice people to deal with ... Well worth the 20 minute drive. Thank you.

Not a fancy place, and the closeness of the shelves makes it feel crowded, but the selection was great and the setup for adoptable kittens was awesome. Also, they have a fantastic self service dog grooming station, and the discount card you can get for that makes it so inexpensive!

Awesome experience ...my dog is not good with having her nails trimmed but was so calm having it done here! Much better than place down the road where she was so anxious. They also gave great flea treatment advice!

Pet supplies plus has most of what you might be looking for for your pets. They have aquarium fish, hamsters, birds, ferrets and reptiles.The prices there are equal or better than their competitor. I usually check Pet Supplies Plus first when shopping.The associates are friendly and helpful. Sometimes its hard to get help though because they are busy with other customers.All in all, this is my first go to store for my cat and my aquarium needs.

I have never had an issue with pet supplies until tonight. I spend over 200 a week in here and when I went to check out the girl at the register was to busy talking and flirting with the make employees to do her job and when I said I have a phone number she said it doesnt matter....it does matter because Im a loyalty member...and my receipts go to my email so tonight I wont get a receipt for my purchase because of course she was to worried about talking instead of doing her job....I then called and asked to speak to a manager and the person who answered the phone put me on hold for 10 minutes so I hung up...I will no longer be using Pet Supplies Plus in New Hartford ....I will drive to Rome to their location from now one.....

The staff was very pleasant, especially Stephanie, who took out the ferrets and explained about them, not that we were looking for animals. Also, said that we could visit with the guinea pigs. Prices were higher than other places, but did see a sign, where they price match. Daughter did find a stuffed elephant for a gift. All the tanks and cages were clean. This was my first visit to the store and was a place I would visit again.

There are two Pet Supplies Plus in our area. One is in Rome, New York. The other in New Hartford. Although we shop at the Rome store they are out of a particular item. Then we go to the Pet Supplies in New Hartford. The sales people are very courteous and friendly at both stores. Both stores allow pets

If youre like me, you HATE petsmart... so yeah... pet supplies plus is where you wanna go if youre a cool and morally just person. I also wash my dog there. My dog is so freaking cute its blow youre mind, unless you like petsmart, then youd have no mind to blow cuz ud have to be brainless to be dumb enough to go to petsmart instead of here!

I knew what I needed, so we were in and out of the store in no time. I like going to this Pet Supplies Plus because they carry the big bag of millet seeds that my cockatiels love. The cashier was friendly and courteous.

I have been taking my little dog here for two years...always requesting the same groomer who was awesome. Last appointment we brought him and when we got there were told that groomer no longer works there, no prior courtesy call to let us know (mind you we requested her). Our drive to get there is about 45 minutes so we went ahead and left him. He sits and lets you bath him and will actually fall asleep when groomed..he loves it. Much to my horror below is a pictures of the results...HUGE BALD SPOT ON MY POOR BABY!!!!

Absolutley the best! Super friendly staff, very accomodating and knowledgeable. They get to know your dogs and greet them and their owners. John in the grooming salon is fantastic! The New Harford Store has been my go to place for 10 years now

Dont expect to get your dog fully groomed even though they say they will. I got my dog back and they never clipped the nails or cleaned the ears. They also snipped the flesh of the ear in 2 places and never told me. The manager is a first class As.....very rude. And dont bother calling corporate because the right hand doesnt know what the left hand is doing. Very disappointed. No wonder they can fit you in....no one wants to go there anymore. Heard lots of horror stories...

They love pets here!! You can buy anything for your pets at home for not awful money. Love this store & their employees!

We went to give the dog a bath, it is very convenient and the dog has gotten used to going there. He loves to pick out his own treat after his bath. They have pretty much any kind of toy or treat for your pets. Our dog loves the pig ears....yup pigs ears they have them...and more!

Although much smaller than its nearby competitor, this store has a large selection of pet needs, whether youre into warm fuzzies or creepy-crawlies. Staff members are real animal lovers and very helpful.

All the staff is so kind and helpful and to have my dogs nails clipped I never had to have an appointment we just walked in and they gladly took us in to clip and its Wonderful that they offer a pet wash station

Had a great selection of pet foods from numerous brands. I also found the specific brands and flavors I was looking for. Blue wilderness hairball reduction and weight management, and canned Tiki Cat.

I just bought a leopard gecko from you, stuck she’d fully over him. And near deaths door . Has horribly metabolic bone disease . Employees are very nice but have no knowledge on caring for these animals at all what so ever . I’m absolutely shocked as to how he was even on the sales floor and not seen by a vet .

Positive - I love that they have adult cats from a local shelter available for adoption. I also think the color coding of the aggressive nature of the fish is very helpful. Negative- they mislabeled aquatic frogs and they ate my beta fish. And I came home with unwanted aquarium snails that reproduce rapidly and are impossible to irradicate.

There was a great variety of toys and treats here for my dog but when inspecting the handmade or baked treats in the window at the front of the store I saw that garlic was an ingredient for the dog treats which is a poison for dogs so that was very disappointing. The five for twenty five dog wash card is definitely worth the money though!

I am always greeted and welcomed to the store on entering. All team members also offer a greeting as I move to the cat section. Help is readily offered.

Worst experience ever and unorganized! So many things went wrong from the minute my wife and I entered this establishment. First we made an appointment for both our dogs for a wash and cut, but the girl thought we were there to have the dogs nails cut. Then a dog comes running out of the back and jumps over the counter. After they get the dog back behind the counter the girl from the back asked if our dogs came in with a leash and collar. I told her just collars. So she goes to the back and comes out with a dog and begins to had me. The gentleman that was standing next to me said that its his dog. I told her you have both our dogs in the back ready for a wash and cut. So she apologized. Then she calls my wifes cell phone as she is looking at the computer so my wife asked are you calling my phone. The girl replied Im sorry I was told you left. I told her youve been talking too us the whole time...lol I told the girl bring our dogs back out because obviously this place is busy and unorganized. Way to many red flags for my wife and I to leave our dogs in pet supplies hands. I dont understand if your that busy then dont take on more than you can handle. We always take our dogs to petsmart, but they were booked up for a while so we decided to call pet supplies and get them in. Worst choice we ever made! I can speak for myself and say I will never step foot in Pet Supplies as long as I own a pet.

It has not been pleasant. I recently purchased a guinea pig for my granddaughter. The baby animal had only been in the store a few hours. The store DOES NOT inspect their critters.. My granddaughters guinea pig started losing hair within couple days. Store did not offer any sorry to hear that or anything. Just take it to a vet. Well guess what. ...not only does this cute little guinea pig have RINGWORM. so does my granddaughter. So besides the purchase price, setup cost, vet bill, and pediatrician bill, I really think Pet Supplies Plus owes me big time. But I will never do business there again.

Best pet supplies store i have been to so far! Better than PetSmart or PetCo! Great coupons and deals going on all the time. And you can find stuff here you cant find in other pet stores. For example, Stella And Chewys dried dog food which seems impossible to find. They offer deals on it too!

This place has everything for my cat! I love how they price match(which is nice because that means I get to save more money) and are so friendly. I look forward to coming to this store to get my cat supplies and this is my #1 store for my kitty.

Besides it being conveniently located and having a big parking lot, they also have anything and everything youll need for your pet. Always a great stop for pet supplies. Only thing I dont like is how many birds are in one cage and the poor Beta fish in the tiny bowls.

I made the mistake of buying a beautiful albino Syrian hamster from here, I got him home and within a few days he became deathly ill with numerous diseases including wet tail, after researching the symptoms I figured out that the hamster he was housed with had it too. This poor thing was suffering from eye and ear infections, diarrhea, and even something similar to seizures as he got closer to passing, he died twitching in my hands a week after I got him.DON’T BUY ANIMALS FROM HERE PLEASE!!! EVERYTHING IS SICK AND DYING!!! THEY DON’T TAKE CARE OF THEIR ANIMALS!!!

I like the selection of quality dog food, the convenient self-serve dog wash and the friendly staff. Its also a great place to get your dogs nails trimmed.

They have a fantastic selection of cat foods, cat collars, and live corals and saltwater fish, and the checkout people were friendly, but aside from the beautiful cockatoo, which looked happy and got scritches from a store clerk, the animals did not look healthy.Their canaries looked sick--one of the canaries was curled up in its basket; its head was not visible, and its breathing was labored. The front of the bird section had a giant trash can half-full of old birdseed, just sitting there; it was unclear if the old birdseed was dumped out of the cages into the trashcan or if someone was cleaning the floor, but it was a hazard and looked unsanitary.In some of the reptile cages, the fake plants that are supposed to be attached to walls, etc. had fallen down and were half-on and half-off the tank background (a safety hazard for any climbing lizard, as the rest of the plant could fall on the lizard). One of the store clerks was removing a small gecko from its cage for a guy who bought it, and obviously did not know how to handle it securely but firmly, as it jumped out of his hand and skittered away across the floor until the clerk was able to catch and box it. There were several cages with nothing in them that had not been cleaned--and not in the we just sold this animal way, but in the this sponge is green with mold way. Not recommended.

Love this place!! They have a way bigger selection than Petsmart and their prices are cheaper !! also a plus because you can pick your own dog treats in fact Im so impressed I havent shopped at Petsmart for over a year now

Brought my beautiful Australian shepherd Simon whos 11 years old to here to be groomed. They shaved him! 1st negative review Ive ever made publicly but what groomer doesnt know that Australian Shepherds arent dogs you shave! Furious. I love my dog and he will likely die before it grows back. Idiots. Either pure ignorance of breed standards or simply lazy.

Fish department. Most here know what to do when bagging fish. Only one person that I have come across with that has to be told put more air in the bag so my fish doesnt die when I open the bag when I get home.

Curbside pickup has been the only upside to the changes made bythe pandemic. Getting 2 or 3 weeks of my pets favorites takes less timethan the time before my leg injury when I could shop for myself.

Folks in the grooming dept are super nice, we always get our dogs nails trimmed here when were in town. Self serve dog wash is ok. Washing part is well set up, but I think the dryer is blowing at a PSI thats a little higher than is appropriate for hosing off a living creature, so we skipped that part.

Went to buy fish for a new tank, the selection was disappointing to say the least, then theyre clearance snickered items were not processed correctly at checkout and the poor manager couldnt figure out why the error was occurring, so we left with nothing.

We brought our Cockapoo puppy in for a trim and specifically instructed the groomer to stay away from her face. She didn’t listen and proceeded to hack up her beautiful facial hair. 3 months later we are still waiting for it to grow back.

The aisles are a bit narrow, but otherwise a good pet supply store! The location in Rome is great as well!

Expensive, aquatic department has gone downhill. Lucky if you can even see the fish in their tanks! I will never go back.

Disgusting aquatic area. Dead fish (no less than 15) succtioned to the pump in the 100 gallon open top tank in the middle of the fish & lizard area. Several tanks had fish aggressively eating other dead or nearly dead fish.

Well knowledgeable staff about all my salt water fish and supplies.

Not bad, I wish there was a better selection of fish. And definitely better prices. But all in all not bad at all.

People very nice and were there to help made sure our fur babys had what they needed thank you so much for your help.

Cashier(tall young man) was very helpful. All of staff seem great.

4/16/23 the 2 girls in the grooming department were rude miserable rough with both dogs they were torturing after watching for 20 min waiting for my dogs nails to just be cut I couldnt take watching anymore and walked out.
