Rome Animal Hospital

Been here three years. They are taking new clients but couldn’t see my German shepherd who is in pain. Wanted me to wait 5 weeks For an appointment and on a waitlist. Seriously, What the hell are they thinking? Taking this the whole way up to corporate in California. And they say they care about your pet! They have become a sad train wreck. Save yourself the money and the poor care you will receive for your pet. Oh and they couldn’t care less about WHY I left them - clearly no attempt to get better by receiving and acting on feedback. Whoever manages this organization - shame on you! Not sure what occupation they would be good at but clearly they have become a joke as vets. Very sad but I’m out of there.

My dog died because I had to drive another twenty minutes on the other side of town because they didnt have a doctor on site. Whats the sense in being open or even being there if you dont have doctors on site? This isnt the first time either, several months ago I tried to go to them in regards of my cat and no doctors were around or they were full so I had to drive almost three hours to Albany just to get help for my cat.

They are losers!!! My dog had a bacterial infection nothing major at all and it cost $220 just to walk in and get her meds and they prescribed medicine that did nothing pretty much then when my mother called last Friday to switch the medicine our vet was on vacation and couldnt be bothered to answer theyre phone for 2 seconds to give the ok and said another vet couldnt do it so my dog had to deal with it over the weekend then when we called again they dared to say we gotta bring her in again because they want that $220 again they want me to pay $440 for a bacterial infection that they didnt prescribe right meds for this is a money hungry vca animal hospital they care zero about the animals and only bout the money

I wanna start out and say that the staff at this clinic have been great to me and I plan on using them still for my animal (fur babies haha) medical needs. However, my issue that I have with this clinic, and to me it is a pretty big deal is that this clinic is closed on the weekends. About a week ago on a Saturday, Mango (my child) passed away. I found him unresponsive when I came home from work. This was completely shocking since we had just come from this clinic 2 weeks prior with a clean bill of health. When I called the clinics number I was met with an automated voicemail redirecting me to call another clinic for emergencies. Come to find out that this other clinic (which was also very helpful and great during this time) was in Syracuse. Which to me is not ideal in this situation. I can not say that if Rome Animal Hospital had been open Mango would still be alive but I do know that having to drive a minimum of 30 minutes to get to another clinic only resulted in doing more harm. I understand that there are so many people working at this clinic and you may not have the manpower to be open like you are during the week but I think if there was a way to triage the more serious emergencies like being unresponsive, bleeding out, etc locally while letting the other clinic handle the less severe emergencies. Then maybe this could have had a different outcome. I hope that you consider this to help potentially prevent another situation like mine. Thank you for your time.

Top-notch Veterinarians and Staff! I have been taking my dogs and cats here for 6 years. I can always trust that my furkids are receiving the best care. The entire staff is friendly, patient, and responsive, absolutely wonderful in their interactions with pets and humans alike. The Doctor and staff have supported me through the passing of my cats as well as the shared excitement of a new puppy. I would highly recommend!

They are the VERY WORST!!!! I get an appointment three months out. They could not see my sick pet they were booked. Then send me two notices of my appointment for today, yesterday. 1 1/2 hours before my appointment they cancel and don’t know when they can re-schuelde. Not an explanation and I’ve never met a more RUDE receptionist in my 68 years!!! Not an ounce of sympathy. I ask to speak to someone over her and I get I’ll have them call you and she immediately hangs up. My pets don’t deserve the likes of this place. And she needs to be fired!

They handled by big boy with so much love and care!!! Many are scared of him because if his size. Not them. They made me feel so comfortable with having to stay in my car. He could not even walk. He couldnt hold himself up. Thank you for taking care if him!!! He is back to his normal playful self!!!!

They were willing to see us in an emergency when our regular vet just couldnt possibly fit us in. They saved our cat. Thank you.Pleasant staff and no hassle.

I have been bringing my dog Bella, German shepherd, to the rome animal hospital since she was adopted 4 years ago. Most places I’ve came across are scared of the shepherd, but at the rome animal hospital, some of the technicians own shepherds themselves so they know how to handle her. It was refreshing the first day bringing Bella there and we were explaining she is a reactive dog when it comes to other dogs. The vet was so kind and he has the same issue with his shepherd and gave us tips and tricks to work out the kinks. They’re not just your average vet and vet technicians. They love your animals like they’re your own and will advocate for them to the best of their ability. The staff is so nice and understanding and accommodate to your dogs needs. Thank you to the staff of this establishment for taking care of my fur baby!

Highly recommend Rome Animal Hospital for the care of your pets. They do everything they can to get your pet seen. Front staff was very kind and the technicians were so happy to care for my cat. The vet answered all my questions with no hesitation and my cat loved her! Five stars!!

Always a great experience. My dog gets super excited when he realizes we are there. They are attentive and caring with my dog. They always seem to want whats best for him.

Pretty sure we will not be back there... While the front staffing seem nice... The new vet has terrible bed side manner, rough handling and short quick underlying sarcasm in her answers... Nah... We dont need that... The vet that was there was very nice and quite the opposite of the vet now.

WORST CLINIC IN THE AREA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Will not be going back! They swindle you into buying more medication that your pet doesn’t even need!!! It says not to prescribe more than a week and you extend for another two?! And I saw the way they treated the family who just lost a pet!! Very unprofessional and sick! I feel bad for any pet that goes there!

Just got back from my first visit with them in many years for my puppy, Oliver. Everyone was so kind and fully explained pricing and what came with what. With this economy it feels good to know that we have a reputable veterinarian office in town that doesn’t charge an arm and a leg to go visit. I signed up for the care club and it was only $50 at first and $90 per month for the next year and it is very affordable compared to not signing up and paying per visit and also includes neutering and All vaccines which is huge. I enjoy knowing that my puppy will be taken care of for the next year with very little worries about how I’m going to care for him properly. I even got a goodie bag after! Well Oliver did :) It had a free bag of food, heartworm medication and flea and tick for the first month, and came with a couple other things. We have been at this vet before and it was just a nice reminder of why we we came here to begin with. Highly recommend.

Having to let an animal go is the hardest thing to have to do. I would recommend this place 💯. They told us everything they were going to do and let us take all the time we needed before and after. The after I received the ashes I also received a poem they sent like it came from my Willa which I didnt expect plus a card signed by the staff with actual condolences not a photo copy card. I want to shout out to the awesome staff and doctor to help make her passing a little easier. Again would highly recommend this place 💯

The staff here is absolutely amazing. Sarah is one of the nicest most sincere people ive met in a long time. Amazing hospital!!!

They are very helpful, my dog always have tummy problems and they always take care of him.

Rome Animal Hospital was a saving grace in our time of need with our sweet Kitty Minnie. Our 6 year old cat lost a significant amount of weight in a short time. We took her to her usual vet which was know for being the place to take cats. First time there they did bloodwork which was fine so they said they really didn’t know. Weight loss progressed and we took her back again. This time x rays ultrasound etc. they put it between 2 diagnosis - both bad but really still were not sure. They literally sent my cat home with a paper that said “misc diagnosis “. Took a shot in the dark and called Rome for a second opinion. Dr Wiedrick did multiple x rays , ultrasounds etc and through her exam she literally found a tumor right away . She went above and beyond in her assessment. She did everything to get us all the info we could need. Sadly , our sweet girls cancer had spread and she was not going to make it. We made the gut wrenching decision to euthanize. Dr Moell performed the euthanasia. He was the most compassionate person. He actually made that awful process better with his demeanor . He did not rush us , spoke softly and you can tell he cared ! Wow. A million stars for this place. Such a gem . Will be switching my other animals there. You should do the same . Thanks again Rome Animal Hospital.Rich and Kelli Arcuri

The vet staff and Dr. Ruff are absolute angels. My pup had a healthcare emergency, and was seen by an emergency vet the night prior to my visit and was told she needed an emergent surgery that was very expensive, but they werent able to do it there. I wasnt able to get into a primary till the following week and was calling around to different clinics in the area for her to be seen. Dr. Ruff had her seen in the Rome clinic within an hour of me calling and gave me an alternative choice to get my pup feeling better. Very affordable and worked within my budget. Everyone there was so kind and helpful. I cannot thank them enough for their empathy, kindness, and dedication.

CALLED THEM TO SET UP AN APPOINTMENT FOR A NEW CUSTOMER AND THEY SAID THEY TAKE NEW PATIENTS. EVERY APPOINTMENT I MADE THEY CANCELLED TWO DAYS BEFORE THE APPOINTMENT AND RESCHEDULED ANOTHER MONTH AWAY. FOUR TIMES...... NEVER AGAIN. THATS HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY SUGGESTED I GO TO NEW HARTFORD. WOW.... GOOD LUCK

If I could give them 10 stars I would. I discovered my 2yr old doggo had a fractured tooth and after trying to get him in to be evaluated locally in Syracuse all I was able to do was find a specialist who had an available appt under 2 wks out since every other local vet was booking out 1-2 months. This specialist charged me $200 for a consult to tell me what I already knew...the tooth had to come out. And then proceeded to give me a $3700 estimate which included services not needed to extract a tooth. I booked the surgery which was 3+ wks out as it was the only option but the following day made it our mission to find another. After 2 hours of phone calls to vets within a 2 to 3 hour drive from us we finally got to Rome Animal Hospital and were told they actually had an open appt that night for an evaluation. Only $85 to be seen and found a $20 off coupon for new patients on their website! The staff was AMAZING during the evaluation. Everyone was accommodating and friendly. We were seen fairly quickly and told by the main doctor that this would be very routine for her and that it would be NO WHERE NEAR the estimate given to us by the specialist. She made me feel very comfortable about our dog being seen there.. She had an opening in her schedule only a few days out!!! Regardless of the cost my mission was to get him seen and fixed fast as his fracture was bad at put him at high risk of infection. We schedule the surgery which was today 4/4/23. Drop off was easy and all the girls were super nice to our boy and took great care of him as much of a nervous nelly he can be. No issues during procedure and provided plenty of after care info to help with speedy recovery. Cost was less than 1/3 of what I was quoted locally at the specialist. I will GLADY make the hour drive from here on anytime we need our dog to be seen as the service and overall care provided by Rome Animal Hospital is Top Tier! Highly recommended.

Edit after our first apt. Staff was great. Vet spent time making sure all questions were answered and left us with a great first impression. Will absolutely be going back. Thank you!*******We are new to the area and after being told by 3 other vets (closer to our home) that they arent accepting new patients, I was starting to get discouraged. Called Rome Animal Hospital and got an appointment for my dog that fit around my work schedule. I certainly wont mind the extra drive time if I can get good care for my girl. Its scheduled a few weeks out but its not urgent, just establishing new care. Will update after our appointment.

Great friendly service.Took our new pup for a check up and he was well treated. They didnt even mind I was 15 minutes late due to the crazy roadworks 😐.Recommend one of their care plans.If you have had a previous pet there let them know and you can skip the registration fee.

I have been going here for over 3 years now for multiple pets and love it. Dr.Ruff is the best and only person I want to see when I go. They also take care of my dog when I go on vacation and I feel 100% confident she is in good hands.

This is not my regular Veterinary Clinic. My dog has a mass on his buttocks that was bleeding. I didnt know what to do. I called here since they are closer than a emergency veterinary hospital. They accepted my dog and everyone was caring and compassionate. Highly recommended.

This facility and the workers, Dr, assistants....they are all the best. The keep great records on your animal so an appointment is never missed. If an animal has a procedure done, expect a call or text message later that day asking how your animal is doing.We also use them to board our dog when we need to go away for a weekend or so.

I absolutely love everyone here. The staff knows Koda so well and she is a very happy puppy when I bring her to visit her friends. I feel safe leaving her with them if we are travelling, and I trust she is well taken care of. They are affordable, and give top notch care to the patients. LOVE THEM!

They were informative, thorough and reasonable. Had an honest explanation and facts as to why theyd suggest certain things (unlike some horror story vet clinics). Gave a clear and concise update on my pet; answered my questions. Staff were busy and seemed attentive. I left knowing everything I needed to know. They take time to explain whats what and why its either necessary or unnecessary considering your pets environment.

TL; DR:Good for fairly normal animals that dont need a lot of complex care or coordination of appointments. However, communication was a bit lacking and I got some conflicting information from the doctors there. Subjectively, I didnt feel totally comfortable when my pet was out of sight.Good experiences:They were good about finding a treatment that worked for my cats chronic upper respiratory problem and helping clear her parasite and GI problems. They were also good about helping my cat when she was suddenly feverish and having labored breathing a half hour before closing time on a Saturday with a snow storm. I called and they held out on closing a little early and even stayed later treating my cat.Less good experiences:There seemed to be some poor communication. More than once I would discuss options and come to a decision with someone and the next person I talk to or the receptionist would not have that information and it caused some delays in appointments for my cat. They also did not keep detailed records of everything like my new vet (switched because I moved out of the area) does. I was pretty annoyed when they suggested I wait on spaying my cat because she was in heat and then wouldnt write a note for my move to a new apartment for why she wasnt spayed yet because there was no medical reason that she couldnt have been spayed.My cat is also blind and there were ill-equipped for dealing with that. Vets gave me information relating to the blindness that conflicted. One apparently even gave me impossible information according to another.I felt nervous whenever they took her away from me to do tests or anything because it sometimes felt cold there. Im much happier with my new vet in Rochester who is more informative, seems much more experienced, warmer, more capable of handling special needs, and they even let me accompany them with my cat to their back area for closer examination during my first visit (much cleaner and nicer looking than Romes; only saw Romes after needing to use the restroom after being there for a long time).I dont have an opinion on their costs.

I can’t thank this location enough for helping me get through the scariest time ever this last week as my furbaby “Cupid” was attacked by a pitbull. I came in a total mess. And they handled the situation with urgency and were so kind to me. My baby got away with a scratch, some swelling and bruising but he’s home and happy. Thank you all so much!

My cat Batman was very sick. My car was broke down so I had a hard time scheduling an appointment at a time I could get a ride. I had to cancel 2 appointments but they were very understanding. When I finally got Batman there, they very quickly took him in, examined him and the doctor came out to talk to me. He then went back in to figure the price on a treatment plan, which was very reasonable. Now two weeks later Batman seems to be fully cured, back to normal activities and has gained back the weight he lost while sick. I would highly recommend Rome Animal Hospital.

Dr Dagget and staff are the absolute best. I have a very timid high anxiety pit who hates strangers. They take their time with him and try to make him feel as comfortable as possible. Thank you for making vet visits not so traumatizing for my Tank.

If you love your animals..do them a huge life saving service by NOT wasting time or money here. my dog suffered while they acted like its the first time they have seen these systoms. Despicable money scheme with no answers. My dog was 6! gave what we were told to give her and way wrong or just wanted my stepmothers money.

My dog was not a patient here but i brought her in very sick. Unfortunately she was too ill and had to cross the rainbow bridge the same day. Everyone here was so very kind to us through every step. Dr B is nothing short of saintly in my eyes. She went the extra mile. I really really appreciate all you did for me and my little Joey. Thank you

I love the staff here and the care they give. They cared for my dog for her whole life. And I unfortunately had to put her down. The staff was very professional and caring. They not only cared for my dog but they cared for me too.

I’m an over the road truck driver . This past week my cat simba was just not himself, I called my local vet Marcy vet clinic and they said they couldn’t see him for 3-4 weeks due to being booked out that long , I explained to the receptionist that I felt this was an emergency and seemed to have got no urgency out of her so I brought him to Rome clinic. They where so understanding and considerate of my feeling and the concern that I was having for simba with no questions asked they said without hesitation to get him and bring him in . They where so good with him and got rite to him taking test and trying to figure out what his problem was . Thank you to all of the staff at the Rome clinic for the way you made me feel and for helping my simba . You guys are the best and thank you again .

Extremely disappointed. My dog recently had surgery and was told to call them if there were any issues or complications. Within a week, the dog was bleeding heavily. I called to see if I could bring her in. They said they were too busy and suggested going to the emergency clinic in Syracuse. This is unforgivable. I will be finding a new vet..

I called to set up an appointment for spay/neuter and get a quote. I was told about $320 for the first appointment, rabies shot, and spay. After going to the first appointment I was then told its $497 for just the spay. After talking to 2 people and really digging as to why the price changed I found they were adding in optional but recommended bloodwork. Thats not only dishonest, but sketchy as hell in my opinion. It sucks that its so hard to find genuine businesses now a days that care about customer service more than their income.

Always prompt for appointments and caring for my pets. Recently treated my very ill elderly miniature long-haired dachshund with compassion and success!

Dr Woodside is the best highly recommended she did a wonderful job stitching up my baby after she was attacked by a much larger dog and had to undergo a major surgery. She is compassionate caring and understanding. She also is very thourou explaining things to you if needed. While picking up my baby after surgery done I had seizure in office the staff not only called to follow up on my dog they also followed up on me. Dr Woodside and staff was tremendous oh yeah and the price was much more reasonable than I expected. Kudos to the Dr and staff that helped me with my baby girl. I cant thank them enough.

I was taken in for my appt. Right on time. The tech that did all of the preliminary examinations was very friendly and knew what she was doing. My dog liked her. She explained what treatments they would be doing that visit and then the doctor came in and did a very thorough physical examine of dog and asked me questions about my dog(Brindy). Then he also explained what vaccines Brindy would be receiving that visit. It was a very pleasant visit to the Veterenarians office. I highly recommend the Rome Animal Hospital for anyone who loves their pets.

I went here because helping hounds gave a coupon. But I really like it. They are friendly while also staying very professional. They send reminders when my dog needs anything which is very helpful because I can never keep track.

Dont answer questions over the phone,makes no sense,ask the receptionist if they knew anyone that had purebred pugs for sale,she was snippy and said get a dog at the Rome Humane Society,I didnt want a mixed pitbull,which is all the humane societies have now,I wanted a pure breed dog,if you have an EMERGENCY dont think you can go there they make you go to syracuse,by then your animal could be dead,certainly dont want that kind of vet

Needed a vet quickly for care of my sick cat. Was able to see a vet immediately. Everyone there was so helpful and extremely nice.

People are great and really care about the animals. They are very busy and it can be a little bit of a wait to get your pet in. They try and work with you on costs letting you know how much services are.

Attempted to bring our cat Dexter to them for a emergency our cat was in shock and had so low of a temperature the other vet couldnt even read it for a while.was told that since our cat wasnt there in 2 years that he was considered a new patient and would not be accepted only reason we didnt go thare in 2 years was because he was a healthy cat and had all his shots we managed to get him to a vet in cny he had a full bladder and kidneys were shutting down. He had to be put down. All they care about is money

The staff at Rome Animal Hospital took excellent care of our cat after he had a pacemaker placed earlier this year. They provided the care that he needed post surgery. Our cat needed warm and cold compresses on the surgery area and he needed medication, they did an excellent job with both. Recently we had to board him again for a couple of days and we were able to board him the day we called. I would recommend boarding your pets here.

My cat had something wrong with his eye. I called at 11:00 in the morning and they saw him at 3:45. Even though he had not been a patient there before. Everyone was very pleasant and answered my questions. The doctor spent an adequate amount of time with him. I also thoght she was very thorough. I also thought the doctor was very pleasant. I definately would go there again. They were very accomodating which is more than i can say for some of the other places i have tried to deal with.

They took our dog in when him and fellow house pet got in a tussle, eventhough they were not our current vet. They were professional and most of all they were caring and compassionate. Thankfully only antibiotics were needed.

Our Dog was ill, Rome Animal Hospital was aware of our Dogs medical condition as they were the ones trying to help treat her. Unfortunately we had not had any luck and yesterday night she took a turn for the worst, so she had a appointment for 9:20am to be placed to sleep. We called upon arrival and was told someone would be right out with a stretcher, since she was having trouble walking. At 10:10 they still had not gotten our dog and by this point she was having a seizure, so I called again asking if they plan on getting her we have been waiting 50 mins and shes having seizures. Within a few mins someone finally came out with out a strecher to take her but she had already passed. This Animal Hospital was well aware of her medical condition as well as the shape she was in we waited about 55mins before anyone came to us and who knows when or if they would have if I didnt call panicking. They tried to tell me it was because they had a Emergency which I do not believe because they were taking other dogs in and why would they not call me back to say hey we have and Emergency its going to be a bit longer. I would not wish this experience on anyone, I wish we just would have kept her at home so she could have been more comfortable.(You have to call when arriving because covid 19 policy doesnt allow you in)

Staff did great job with my cat. Excellent care and post instructions.

These guys saved my dogs life.We woke up the other day and our poor pupper couldnt use his back legs. We feared he was paralyzed for life and would have to be put down.But the doctors at Rome Animal Hospital calmed us down, walked us through the rehab process, and put our dog on medication.Hes up, walking, and as happy as ever today, thanks to the great team at RAH!

They the only ones who carry my girls flee and tick med that’s the only good thing they so expensive and don’t care much about the patients at all. Staff is always rude. Clinton Pet Vet is was better Dr Jessica Price shows more concern and love towards her patients.

My dog was seen the day i called even though he is not a patient (i am from out of town). The staff were friendly and accomodating as well as Dr. Cole who quickly diagnosed the problem and treated it as well showing me a foolproof way to instill eyedrops into my dogs eye with no struggle!

I took my Staffordshire terrier qt ok them a couple weeks ago they gave her a shot and antibiotics never checked for lyme.I called because my dog was still sick took her to the vets in Clinton who ran test found Lyme and was told she had it for a little while. I paid over four hundred to them. They should pay me a refund ill never take anything to them again.

My partner and I went to this clinic with our dog for care. They were cold with us and our dog and had poor communication on what to do. Our dog had what turned out to be a cyst that burst on her foot. The vet made us think she may need her foot amputated by an osteo specialist or may have cancer despite this being ruled out by our vet in New Mexico where we moved from six months prior. After all this my dog was sent home with her foot wrapped so tight I woke up to a swollen infected paw the size of a golf ball that was boiling hot from infection. The infection got so bad over night she had goo seeping from her eyes (side note thank you to happy valley vet for saving her life!!!) also the test this clinic wanted to do on her cyst they wanted to charge over $200 for the other vet did it for $35. Can we say corporate greed...I will say they did a great cremation on my dog who died in October, so I will give them this, if you have a dead animal or want a dead animal this is the place to go!

They did not care about my pet at all when I went in. My kitty is epileptic but when she first started having seizures I freaked out and brought her here, the lady on staff was very cold and very obviously did not care about my cat that she was examining. The lady there barely even listened to me, she did not seem interesting in listening to me at all and some assistant there talked me into paying for this card that I did not need, I ended up paying hundred of dollars for one simple visit where they didnt even do anything! I paid it but when they kept taking more money out of my account after what was supposed to be the grand total. I had to call the vets then I had to call the card company and the card company ended up refunding me my money because I was paying for all the procedures that my cat never even got there! She ended up sending us home with no medication, no answers to my cats problem and my poor cat kept having seizures even after we left! That lady did not care about us at all! My poor Kitty almost died that weekend, so after I left there I went to another vet, who took her in immediately, ran tests and prescribed her the medication she obviously needed. That place, and I can not stress this enough, only cares about your money and does not care about the animals that they are supposed to care about!

I might as well just copy and paste Ana Figueroas review about our devastating loss of our beloved pets for the SAME exact experience with this animal hospital. I was probably in parking lot at the same time. We still have absolutely no closure with how Zoey passed away. I am sick over their excuses and lack of knowledge. Our Zoey could have been saved but instead we were told take some samples home that I spent 1,200 for and google helped us more. Shame on you Rome Animal Hospital for not knowing when an animal is in severe need

The staff are always nice. The prices though are ridiculous high. It makes it hard for many to give their pets the care they need.

They take such good care of my Copper! The front desk staff are also so polite and accommodating.

Cant thank the staff at the Rome Animal Hospital enough for their help in my time of need. My daughters school bus discovered a severely injured cat on the side of the road. We went to find him, and he was badly injured. We were referred by another local office to call for help. We took him in and he was seen immediately. They showed him the respect and compassion he deserved. Thank you all for being angels on earth.

So because I coulnt post update on my Google Im using my moms. But here is an update on my baby girl (Princess). My baby girl had to under go another surgery as for here wound had dead skin and a large infection from the bite. Dr. Woodside once again went above and beyond came in early to adapt to my schedule to care for princess. She is doing well. Very pleased I cant express the compassion Dr woodside has. Not very often you come across such an amazing vet that understands our animals are just like kids to us. Highly recommend her and if I could I would give her vet of the year award. My mom very pleased and impressed with her care she is giving to my baby girl (Princess). Again a big shout out to Dr Woodside and staff. Im saddened over how easily they brushed me off when my dog was sick for the se one time. She had been seen already for the same thing and as soon as the med was gone my dogs symptoms came back full force. In that time I had lost my job and with no money I pleaded with them to see if they could just give her another script. Or help her in some way without seeing her. She isnt a dog thats easily controlled around people she doesnt know and they know this. I had to give her meds just to get her there the first time to be seen. Im still looking for help for my baby girl.

They care about the Animal being treated to the best care possible. And Care about the owners pockets! A plus, plus establishment!

I brought my sick 14 year old lab here today. They went above and beyond helping me get him in/out of car and into the vet clinic.

Rome Animal Hospital is the best in WNY ! I put miles on my car to receive the best care.I know my pets are in good hands.How do I know? Answering our queistions about our dogs needs and care. The time spent with Drs Gaw, was especially informing and appreciated!Also, the Dr. who did dental work she was super xo Plus the hard working reception staff! The fact is my dog has better care and he is a happy senior because he has the best VETS @ Rome Animal Hospital!

They were very gentle and loving towards my fur baby girl while having her spayed. They are always helpful when you have questions.

Over priced.. Spent about $1000 only for the problem to get worse. Took her to another vet, spent $140 and the problem was resolved. Alot of older people go to this place and I feel bad for them because they are being taken advantage of. Go to another vet.. ANY other vet. VCA animal Hospitals are a complete rip-off.

My wife my and I Brought in our K9 Service Shepherd at the end of her life span and they first told me it would be 140 to have her put to sleep from the pain, which I am low income and disabled and was breaking me in the first place and was so distraught I just paid it, then we get finished and then the total changes to well over 200+ dollars which I now have nothing left for the month, through the whole procedure that my Wife and I are in misery in the first place they did the procedure on the cold concrete floor of one of the rooms instead of the stainless steel dog bed so she could pass with some dignity, then after it was over I had to look for a staff member after the procedure because I didnt want to leave her passed body all alone on the cold concrete floor.. then if you want the ashes which they would throw out anyway it would be almost 300$ which I could not even come close to.. And before through we went through it, the girl getting info from me such as my address name etc had to ask me how to spell Washington if you can believe it, and even my name, a very complicated one Jay and then proceeded to re ask my phone number 3 times .. Extremely Unprofessional, Callus and Expensive.. I will Never go there again for my animals..

We have had nothing but great and affordable care here for our cat. I absolutely trust the vets and its always a good experience when we go in.

We had an emergency with one of our cats, and they were able to get us in within a couple hours and advise us on what to do for treatment.

I had a emergency and they said they couldn’t help right now because it was over booked and they told me to go to Syracuse or to the place I got her fixed so had to bring my cat back to the mohawk Valley cat care and they took good care of her and fixed her right up and they didn’t charge me

We had an appointment for my dog for shots in August, it was cancelled they made us wait another 4 months, so they made it for this Friday and we are out of town, so now another 4 months, in April. Uncalled for!!!!

Made an appointment the same day we had an issue with our pup, the staff and doctor were also very friendly to our pup. The treatment was also very cheap compared to other animal hospitals.

I had a kitten die because their doctor said her lungs were fine. Turns out the had fluid in them and she drowned because of it. So thanks for the help

Day after Thanksgiving our Cat Midnight passed away. we called around and found you guys. The Availability at the last minute to take us, was a relief.They cremated our 10-15 pounds, a little over 100 + Tax.. What a life Savior .. The Funeral Home I called, wanted almost triple That price.Def. recommend.come prepared, because, the area to spend the last moments with your loved one, will Smell like a Mortuary, its not a smell everyone can handle, ( Vicks) will help.A lot of Felines to greet you❤️

They were very cordial and very quick to help. We had a dog for 14 years and was going down hill very fast and they were able to get us in so we can put him to sleep. If you take your dog in for surgery (or spay and neuter) and something goes wrong, and they have to perform CPR, they charge an additional $1000. If the person doesn’t pay the $1000 does this place sit and watch your dog struggles for air until it dies? This all seems very messed up. Also I heard it’s $700 to keep a dog overnight after spay and neutering? Yikes.
