Having a senior dog and finding a trustworthy and caring groomer was my priority. I cannot say enough good things about the groomers here. They take their time and truly treat the dogs as if they were their own.

I’ve been going there for 7 years however after my experience on Saturday I’ll never go back. They called me to pick up my dog and when I got there they tried giving me a dog that wasn’t mine. And when I told them the dog wasn’t mine they acted like I didn’t know my own pet. I insisted that it wasn’t my dog and even told them that the collar didn’t fit. One man behind the counter mansplained to me that the collar is going to be loose after having a haircut. To which I responded that the collar was too tight. He offered to adjust it for me. This went on for at least 10 mins until they “found” my dog in the back. And when I got my dog I was so happy to finally get him back that I just left, it wasn’t until I got home that I really saw the hack job they did on him. They completely cut off the hair by his mouth, which they have never done before. It was just so awful.

Carol’s pet grooming salon did an outstanding job with my little one ! Although he’s very impatient they were able to satisfied my wants and go above and beyond ! Snowy looked a million dollars after his first visit and we will be returning for definite he looks like a new dog highly recommend to me and I recommend highly to anyone else .

I’ve been taking my dogs to Carol’s for four years and I was not going to write this review because I do not believe in slamming local businesses, however, after reading the most recent reviews, I feel compelled to let others know how completely disgusted I was with my dogs’ two most recent grooming. Last time, over the summer, I was surprised with their cut and just thought that it was a ‘summer cut’ that was explained. This time, I specifically said that I was going to be taking holiday pictures and to please not go short, but just trim. Well, when I was contacted by them to tell me that they were ready, I was forewarned by the receptionist that they had to cut them short so I would not be surprised. When I asked why, she said ‘it’s because they were matted’. I replied, ‘No they were not!!’ And she stated back, ‘yes … I know. They weren’t’ When I picked them up I always have an envelope with cash, which they accept only cash or check; hmmmmm… makes you wonder why, and they usually count it etc. but today I could tell, they wanted me out of there. I was shocked and gasped loudly to see my dogs and the shape they were in. Not only were they cut short, but unevenly, haphazardly, just chopped. Again, I told them I had plans to do family photos with them the following week and I’m embarrassed for them. I know… they are dogs, but my dogs do show a sense of pride with their appearance and if you are an animal or dog person, I know you understand this. Listen, I know it’s just fur and it grows back, but my older dog was cut so close that he now has a terrible rash on his left and I’m going to be taking him to my vet tomorrow. The other one’s ears look horrendous because they are so chopped and he keeps shaking his head as though he was cut with the trimmer. They do not even resemble how they were. I don’t know what is going on there if there was extreme miscommunication but I will never be back due to the butchery. My husband had warned me to look for a new place previously because my pups that love grooming, attention and baths at home literally start shaking when they see the place (and the normally love rides and going out to places everyday). I hope everyone reads this review and understands that I’m not complaining about a horribly butchered haircut, but if you consider your pups part of your family like we do, spare them the trauma.

Been using this groomer for years… no longer. Too inconsistent too trust. Last grooming didn’t follow requests to trim lightly around private area… completely shaved and irritated. Coat was cut patchy-some areas uncut entirely. Took hours longer than expected - and didn’t answer the phone. Obvious disregard for her wellbeing- didn’t give water likely so they wouldn’t have to take her out to pee. Very disappointed.

After 8 years, I’m done. And it’s because of the rudeness of their new receptionist, Carrie.I booked my appointment 8 weeks in advance as usual. Not the first time that they called me to tell me they had to cancel me. People who booked after me took priority over me.In the past, I’ve asked what’s the best day. They told me weekends. Then later on they said “no, weekdays is better.” I’ve asked the best time. They said first appointment. Now they said “no, it’s better to do the last appointment.” Hard to accommodate them if they keep changing their preference.All that said, I bit my tongue until the latest incident. I kept asking Carrie what the best day and time would be to book my dogs to avoid cancellations by them. Instead of answering the question, she kept saying “unfortunately we’re down a groomer today and have to switch you.” I kept telling her I know that, so please tell me the best day and time to reschedule. She kept reverting back to telling me they’re down a groomer today. She refused to answer the question and kept pivoting to irrelevant information about today.Because she kept dodging the question, I started to get annoyed. She then told me I’m being rude to her and attributed it to her being female (I worked with the other 2 female receptionists they had for the last 8 years with no issue).So because she was rude, refused to answer a really easy question that ironically was designed to accommodate her colleagues, and then basically accused me of being sexist, I’m done. I was referred to this place by the Vet Center of East Northport. I will be relaying this information to them for sure.

Had a great experience here. The ladies were so lovely, they fit us in for a last minute nail trim and did it in less than 5 minutes! Our German Shepard Rottweiler was so calm for them and usually he’s very difficult. There’s just something about Carols!

I have been looking for a new shop to bring my two mini poodles to. I came across carols dog grooming shop and could not be happier. The lady at the front desk was so kind. The staff was all so wonderful and knowledgeable. Although I was nervous about how their grooms would look bc I always am everywhere I go, when I picked my pups up they looked perfect. Best haircut my pups have ever got. The groomer did an amazing job exactly what I asked for.

My mini Aussiedoodle loves it here. Its fabulous- you can get an appointment right away the staff is always so sweet and they truly care for your pet. My dog hated the groomer before, and now he runs inside and cant wait for his bath!

I am writing to express my disappointment with the recent grooming service for my dog that took place today 10:00AM 9/14/2024. I noticed several issues that were not up to the standard I had expected. Despite my specific request for a LIGHT trim around her butt area & cutting her paw pad fur.1: They completely shaved her butt area!!!2: Left her coat uneven & patchy in some areas.3: Trimmed all her cute feathering / all around her when I specifically asked not to. We’re trying to let her fur grow out since she is a mini long hair doxin and her fur grows slow.I drove back to get a refund & the manager did give me $30 back (her groom cost $70.61) I told him this was unacceptable & he said “well that will grow back in about a week”. Also, when I went to pick her up after calling to see if she was almost ready, I get there & they had the door locked & told me they would be right there. Are you kidding me? That’s so sketchy! We will not be returning.

Should be Zero stars! They don’t care about your pet. Very unprofessional, 7 hours for my last dog grooming. They clearly forgot about her! Bye Carol’s - it’s a chop-shop. Do not take your beloved pet here. You’re lucky if they answer the phone when you call.

Friend took her neglected Senior Yorkie, just adopted, from Town Shelter (bad teeth, lots of medical aches, collapsed Trachea) for a Bath & Groom. The Staff, Ayla, and the Groomer, were VERY GENTLE & this kennel stressed Pup was returned clean, w/ the correct cut for a Silkie. Seeing the large Vet Bills this Adopter was facing, Mike the Owner, said: No charge. My friend insisted on paying, but, that shows how kind & generous this Non Profit truly IS.

STAY AWAY! I had a horrible experience! When arriving to pick up my dog, I was brought out someone else’s dog. After several minutes of searching for her I was informed that unfortunately she was shaved when she was only there for a trim. She looks absolutely awful and I will never be going back and would not recommend anyone take their dog here.

I think carol’s grooming in sayville they are amazing n everyone are is so friendly n they treat sugar so good they really do a good job and I thank you and so happy that sugar found a place he loves also 😍

Just picked up my little girl from her grooming! She’s always so happy to go there! Very nice people, compassionate & very patient with my crazy girl!

I always grew up with German Shepherds and my mom took our last GSD to Carol’s and he always came back good looking, clean and happy. My mom was always so happy with the services they provided. I recently rescued a 2 year old GSD who gets very anxious when bathed and decided to follow in my mom’s footsteps and bring him to Carol’s. Jennifer at the front desk is always so lovely. I usually walk my dog into the back and sometimes stay with him because he gets so nervous. John, who bathes him, and the ladies who dry him and cut his nails are patient and great with him. They create a safe environment for all the dogs. I highly recommend them.

We have been going here for over a year for both my dogs and never had a problem. Today my little dog goes to get groomed and they shaved her down looks horrible and charge me $92 from $65 last month. I called and asked why so much they said prices went up. When you call to make a appointment you should be told about increase and price. Then to be rude on top of it is a complete turn off! I have sent many people there and gave them business. Won’t be anymore!

They are the best! My dog gets very anxious when he has to get his nails cut, but today he was on another level. They had me come in the back with him and let me hold him while they trimmed his nails. Just genuinely kind people here, and there grooming services are also too notch!

I’d love to not give any stars for this groomer(s). I started bringing my 7 mos old puppy to have his nails trimmed back in Oct, thought it would be a better idea to have a professional and more experienced person do it. I brought him in 2 x month for a trim. He is now 11 mos old and the last time I brought him in(3/9/23), they had 4 people holding him down. One of the groomers told me that he needed to be medicated the next time I bring him in. I should have noticed 4 months ago, when we returned for a 2nd visit he did not want to go with them to the back. I do know one thing, these so called professionals need animal training lessons. If I keep bringing my dog to CAROL’S GROOMING then he will need medication just from that traumatic experience that I couldn’t believe I witnessed!!!!!

My poor baby girl went in and came out like this and her entire side of her face is swollen and eye bloody and required professional medical attention. If you love your fur baby I would not bring them here!

Our dog always ends up looking great after a visit, and its one of the few places that knows how to deal with his special coat.They also have very reasonable prices.

Good groomers, pleasant staff and fast service. Easy to schedule an appointment and have never had to wait more than two weeks. Great job on my Australian Silkie. They keep meticulous notes on the pet owners requests and wishes. Never surprised when I come to pick up my little man. He always looks great!

My pomski Aries gets regular haircut here for the last 6 years. He needs extra attention and has separation anxiety, but the workers here go above and beyond to make sure he is care for and is picked up as soon as possible. He is always styling. I hope they continue to give the handkerchiefs

I took my 3 1/2 pound Yorkie,Ellie to be groomed at Carols this week I am beyond thrilled with her haircut! In the ten years of her life she has never looked better! I had broken my wrist and couldnt bath or brush her so she was a real mess, a true challenge and the groomer met the challenge and made her look like a new dog,she is perfect which is harder to do on a tiny dog than a larger breed @

I would highly recommend!! I’ve been to so many with my Shorkie (shih-zhu/yorkie) puppy and just was not happy at all until now! Thanks to the amazing staff at Carol’s! Thank you so much for taking such good care of King! Definitely worth the travel for amazing service! A wonderful grooming shop!! My dog had spinal surgery just before Thanksgiving 2017. Her Dr and Physical Therapist recommended this groomer because they had experience with spinal injured dogs, who require special holding and care. I could not have wished for a more caring group of people/groomers to bring my dog to for her first grooming experience since her operation. We were warmly greeted by Gina, who took all our information very quickly and told us they had prepared for our dogs arrival and would take good care of her. 2 groomers came out to ask questions so theyd have a better idea of her condition too. ie: if she could stand on her own. This grooming shop extended themselves beyond expectations. ie: assigning 2 groomers to her, calling us to let us know when to arrive so she could be passed arms to arms w/o necessity of caging her, etc. When we picked our dog up, she looked BEAUTIFUL and without any nicks because these are talented groomers too. Although theyre further than my dogs previous groomer, I intend to bring my dog to them for her future cuts and continue to recommend them to others.Thank you Carols Pet Grooming for taking wonderful care of my dog and for a very happy experience!!To maintain the credibility of myself and this establishment, I must confess that when my local veterinarian added a grooming salon in his office, I sadly stopped using Carols Pet Grooming Salon because it saved me a half hour drive and my dogs veterinarian would be in building, if needed. That said, I will ALWAYS recommend Carols Pet Grooming because of the special care they gave my dog following her spinal surgery and because my dog looked beautiful whenever I picked her up. Thus, I think youll be very happy if you decide to try them for your own dog.

We take our dog there for all his haircuts. He’s a mini poodle he has anxiety and bad hips. They’re so patient and understanding with him. Another place we used to take him to used to make us feel bad that he didn’t love getting haircuts and used to whine and cry a lot. They said he was perfect and doesn’t give them any issues as long as they take it very slow. They’re amazing there and genuinely care about your dog. Prices are decent not cheap but not expensive overall it’s always a great experience and seem to always have availability whenever we want to take him. Would highly recommend for all your grooming needs

Called in and spoke to Gina and was in need of an appointment for my miniature pinscher to have her nails done. While told they were always busy I could come down and they would fit me in as quickly as a spot opened up. Gina was attentive and as good as her word. I told her how the dog had a bad experience with the last groomer and she took steps to alleviate any apprehension on both my and the dogs part. We were in and out in fifteen minutes with no problems and the dog was very good with no adverse reactions.

My dog is a huge sweetheart but gets nervous when getting groomed, doesnt like his ears touched, or paws etc..and when hes nervous he pees! Ive been to a few groomers in the past and Ive suspected that they hadnt handled him well, he would seem nervous after and one groomer complained of how hard he was to groom..so Id hate taking him to get groomed but dont have a choice because he has hair, not fur, and I cant cut it myself. Ive been so happy since switching to Carols, he isnt nervous anymore when he leaves his appointment and he looks fantastic! They always do a great job, and it never takes too long, which always bothered me when other groomers kept him for more than a few hours. The owner told me he talked to Charlie when the groomer worked on him so he wouldnt be nervous. I love that! Never going anywhere else!

I haven’t been to your salon but after seeing you on the news and what you did for this beautiful pit bull Goddess I give you 5stars!!! If you can go all out for this baby you have definitely gained my respect!!! Thank You for all you did!!! I wish I could have given more!!!!!🙏🙏🥰❤️

I started my conversation with the manager with “We want to let his (my dog) hair grow for the fall and winter”. So lets just trim him up easy breezy, no big deal. The manager asked if taking a 1/2 inch off seemed appropriate. I agreed. When i picked him up he was given a puppy cut that was roughly a 1/2 inch long. To make matters worse. The groomer cut off one of his eyebrows completely along with all of his eyelashes. Leaving the other side untouched. His nails were left too long and i was still charged $125.00.The lack of responsibility on the groomers as well as the owner of this shop is completely ZERO. Do yourself and your dog a favor and DONT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE. THEY WILL BUTCHER YOUR PET.

I take my 2 dogs to Carols regularly. They’re amazing with my skittish lab and senior chihuahua. They’re nothing short of amazing. They take their time to make sure my dogs are happy and well taken care of. I trust no one else and highly recommend Carols grooming to all my friends, family and co-workers! Thank you Carols for all of your love, dedication and hard work!

I went to pick up my pug and one of the girls complained that my dog was difficult. When I got home I found that my little dog was burned on the back of his neck by the hair dryer. It was bright red with black specks. I was sick over it. He was in pain and was not himself. Do not take your dog to Carols Pet Grooming. Carol is no longer there and the people that are there are not groomers. Something is not right. And what is this Cash Only. I pay taxes on everything I expect them to do the same. Just not a good place.

No Issues with service provided, Dog smelled great and looked great. Only reason not 5 stars is due to price. Paid $103 for a 75lb dog with oatmeal shampoo. Overpriced compared to competitors in area. Would recommend if you need a groomer asap or money is no issue.

Great Experience! Staff is phenomenal and well trained. They do a great job grooming my two dogs. As a business owner, I always try to recognize other business that do the right thing. Kudos to Mike and the rest of the staff!

Unfortunately during this time, the only place we could find open. Lesson learned--- wait till usual groomer opens again. Took my moms Havanese for a puppy cut. Well they shaved the dog down to the skin in places. No hair on her ears , in fact the only place she still has hair is her tail. Both owner and dog are very upset. When I called and spoke to the gentleman there all he did was defend himself. No Im sorry your not happy. Very disappointed and will never go back againI DO NOT recommend this place at all!!

Best boarding experience ever. They took care of my dogs like they were their own. 24-hour care, including someone sleeping there every night. My dogs had a great vacation, and so did I because I knew I didnt have to worry about them.

I have a 14 yr old disabled shiz tzu *Meshu* thats been going to one groomer all) of her 14yrs . a yr ago we moved to LI and for a yr we have been commuting once a month to brooklyn to her groomers. So deeply nervous about changing but the commute was not good for my fur baby and me. Soo i randomly chose carols grooming because of their ability with senior and disabled pets.Let me just say it was absolutly the right choice. From the minute i walked in i felt soo at ease. Gina and and the staff were attentive, caring, and compassionate. They groomed my baby just as i asked. Was told $50 over the phone, dropped dog off and was told nothing different. When called to pick up my dog they told me it will be $65 and that they shouldve realized to tell me that when I dropped her off. Bad way to do buisness. On top of that a few of her nails were still sharp. Would not return for sure.

They were extremely friendly, drop off and done in an hour and a half. They did a great job on my golden. Will definitely use them again.

Super friendly, clean, and they do a great job. Other groomers have had to muzzle my dog because he is a terror but they are so good with him here that he has never needed one.

I took my senior dog with severe arthritis to be groomed . They took excellent care of him and did a wonderful job of grooming him in a short period of time as to not stress him out.

The staff was great as always even though some staff are no longer working there that was so nice to me and my baby Dougie. They did a great job cutting Dougies hair down, And what a relief it is for him lol, thanks Ms. Lisa.

I take my dog there to get his nails cut every 2 weeks. They always take him right away and have never cut his quick. I would recommend them to anyone.

Carol’s did an amazing job with our rescue dog! Hawkeye is a super anxious pup who doesn’t like the vet or other groomers. He actually enjoys getting groomed at Carol’s! At pickup, he is fluffy and smells great- and he is happy and not at all stressed. His peace of mind and happiness is absolutely worth the cost!

We have been loyal customers of Carols for many years. Over the past year I would say, the quality of services has really gone down. The cuts are rushed and they dont follow the owners requests anymore. I asked for a Teddy Bear cut today and my dog looks like he went to a chop shop. Staff also told me my dog was ready for pickup, so I rushed over there to get him, only to wait a half hour more because the groomer wasnt done yet. As their prices continue to go up, the service has to be worth the cost. Unfortunately, they are not anymore.

Always so friendly, great with animals! I always have as pleasant experience when I go here with my doggie that isnt the greatest at getting his nails clipped. Great local business I am happy to support time and time again.

First time using them was today March 16th 2019. And they were very professional and did an excellent job with my dog. My dog is very nippy and is possessive of his food and toys. They said he wasnt to bad and were able to handle his mild aggression. And they also did a better job than my old groomer. If youre local and know her my old grandma was a woman named Allison and Total pet Care and she was great also but moved away. The receptionist Gina was very helpful also El very nice even though she was absolutely swamped and extremely busy with work. I will bring my dog there again and I recommend her they seem to do a great job also give a dog a little scarf 😁👍

They do an amazing job with my terrier mix! Super friendly staff and you can tell how much they love working with animals there. They also do boarding and we are looking to use them for our next trip

I took my dog here and asked for a puppy cut they literally skinned the belly on my dog I took my dog to the vet two days later because it was infected. My vets words were they werent very nice to him. My dog is a sweet dog. 120 for my vet and 95.00 for the grooming.. I will not go here again, my dog suffered.
