I cannot possibly say enough wonderful things about Primitive Dog and the care they provide for your canine family members. I have a reactive shepherd mix who I rescued with noise trauma and reactivity issues. I worked with her for several years by myself and educating myself and things were going fine and I saw lots of improvement. But cue covid and the appearance of some other health issues in her made her reactivity and noise trauma much worse and I found that I could not manage my dog’s needs and health concerns in a productive way for her and my family. I felt like I could not bridge the communication gap between my dog and me. After doing lots of research for dog trainers and rehabilators in the area I found Tammy and Primitive. From the beginning she took the time to understand the situation, my struggles with my dog, and my dog’s health concerns and special needs. After our consultations I knew that Tammy and Lexi were perfect. From our first conversation they have shown such care and concern for my dog and her special health needs. I have absolutely no hesitation boarding Lily with them and know that she will be loved and cared for like she is apart of their family every time I drop her off. Tammy’s knowledge and passion for dogs and their training needs is evident in every conversation we have. I appreciate that she is always willing to help and answers questions about a variety of topics and offers tips and tricks with a holistic approach. As anyone with a special needs dog knows, every day is a different adventure and progress is not linear, but I can confidently say that my dog has made leaps and bounds in her behaviors since our family started working with Tammy and Lexi. They have given us some peace back into our lives. I have recommended her to several dog owners already and I will continue to sing the praises of these wonderful people and their dedication to helping make dogs happier and healthier.

Life changing!!!! I drove for two days from Tennessee to spend a month in NY with Tammy and her team after reading Kevin Behans book Your Dog is Your Mirror and immediately resonating with his words. Tammy is one of Kevins direct apprentices and is extremely passionate and knowledgeable about dogs and dog behavior - specifically problem behaviors and any type of aggression. My pup is very dog aggressive and we have tried EVERYTHING under the sun. Nothing worked, in fact, he kept getting more aggressive, especially after E-Collar training. After doing a month long board and train with Natural Dog Training Next Gen, my dog AND myself are completely different in the best way possible. Daily life is so much easier. We have all the tools we need to be successful inside and outside of the house. Anytime I run into something that is hard to work through behavior wise, Tammy is there and supporting me - even from 14 hours away! Natural Dog Training is whats missing in our entire dog culture. I have never seen my dog so relaxed; he is gaining confidence by the day and I know we can work through his dog aggression fully with Tammy and her team by our sides. I have made a life-long contact for help with my current dog and any dogs to come. Tammy is the best! She made me feel so much better about dog training after a terrible experience elsewhere. She explained everything in detail and was beyond helpful. Its always super easy to get in touch with Tammy and shes always available to help with any questions. Weve used her for in home training, day training, and boarding. Saga is such a gentleman thanks to her!

The ladies at primitive dog are wonderful!! We have boarded our labradoodle with them multiple times. We always pick up a very happy dog. It’s so nice to know he’s staying with caring people who teaching as one of their own while we are away. Couldn’t recommend them more if you’re looking for a trusted place!

Where to even begin! Our dog Yeti absolutely loves Tammy and so do we! She has taken Yeti for a total of 6 weeks and worked very diligently with him on his leash reactivity. She also has made both my husband and I more confident dog owners. She is always available for questions and you can tell she has a passion for what she does. She is truly one of a kind and we are extremely happy to have been referred to her!!

Tammy has a vast knowledge to help owners who have a dog with behavior issues. She has been a god sent for our dog Buzz. He is now able to live a comfortable life and has overcome his severe aggression. Tammy also provides a wonderful, homelike atmosphere when our pets need boarding. She treats every pet as if they were ALL her very own. You will not be disappointed with the service !

Love the care and attention that Tammy and her staff provide for our mastiff. He can be a handful to others outside the family but under their direction hes come a long way. We trust her in every way and never worry when hes boarded there.

So glad we did our research and picked this place. If you have a high energy pup that needs some extra love and attention like we do, look no further. The pampered pouch package provided everything and more that our pup needed, and helped us enjoy our vacation that much more knowing he was in good hands. Tami also helped with his jumping and gave us some homework to do with him to reinforce the better behavior and reduce the jumping when he greets people. Lots of land for your pup to explore with them.

This amazing group of trainers is always willing to help our dog rescue pups, whether for training or boarding. They take care of them as they would their own, and the location is phenomenal! Set back deep in the woods, each pup gets to explore the property daily to burn off some of that energy and get back to just being a dog.

This place really is magic. Because I have dogs with behavioral issues it’s hard to find a facility and trainer I can trust so when I had to move to LA and couldn’t take my dogs right away I knew there was only one place that I could trust!! Tammy puts her heart into everything she does with a dog and the results show!! Wouldn’t board them with anyone else.

Tammy took excellent care of my people resistant Aussie Shepherd. Caring, knowledgeable, who was able to do a fabulous job. Highly recommend her services.

It feels good to be able to leave your dog somewhere, where you know they will be well taken care of and loved while you are away.

Tammy and crew really know how to work with my reactive dog.Not only can they board him, the training has been very helpful.
