Selden Dog Park

The community here is friendly and welcoming, and its easy to strike up conversations with fellow dog lovers. Overall, a great place for dogs to socialize and get some exercise while their owners relax and enjoy the park’s amenities. Highly recommend!

Its great! It says you need a permit but no one seems to care. Theres a list of rules. Everyone was super nice to me. It was my first time at any dog park with My dog. Unfortunately my dog is a little nervous so we didnt stay long. There are lots of toys and a little agility ramp for them.The water fountain for dogs and people, doesnt seem to work, which sucks. Its very shaded and 90% clean which is great. I love it. I hope my little rescue Aussie named Goose, will hopefully soon relax. I just got him in April so hes still learning to trust me and others.Theres some tables in the small dog run to the left with chairs. And the large dog run to the right.Both dog runs have a double gate, so no escaping thankfully!Thank you to the 2 other men that were very nice to me

Such a great place to bring your dog. Separated into two sides (one side for big dogs). The owners of the dogs are usually friendly and welcoming.

First impression is fine as Ive never been to a dog park before. The people are nice. Definitely lot of regulars. Lots of space for the dogs to run. Access to clean water.

What more could you ask for! Large & small dog play areas with fitness & agility courses. Always popular amongst the locals, nice walking path, only downside its along a very busy road. Tons to do here, one of the cleaner & biggest dog parks around all fenced!

Good place for my dog to blow off some steam and exercise. Most dogs there are well behaved. Of course theyre a few bad apples in the bunch but that can happenanywhere there is a bunch of dogs in a social setting. As long as you pay attention and curb aggressive behaviors with your dog this is a great place to be to bond with your pet. Most of the people who come are pretty cool as well!

I love bringing my dog here. Its been a nice place to visit and meet new dogs and their people.

Great big dog park with water and plenty of benches and chairs.

The people we met were very friendly. A lot of trees for shade so it wasn’t too hot. Lots of chairs and places to sit down and a hose with fresh cold water for the dogs.

Friendly responsible dog owners. My puppy was happy to hang out with so many happy dog familes.

There is 2 separate areas for both small and large dogs. There are a lot of toys for the dogs to play with and the large dog side is pretty big. The people are cliquey as with any dog park.

There is no water available so please bring water for your dog.

My dogs have a blast at the park. Its a large open area with a nice sized small dog section and a huge large dog section. Each part has agility obstacles and lots of room for the dogs to be social with each other. The park is well maintained by park goers and volunteers. Water is refreshed consistently so the dogs dont spread illnesses and toys are constantly rotated. By far one of the better parks in Brookhaven.

Always meet friendly dogs and folks here, challenge course is fun n lengthy. Perfect environment to run around with your pup off the leash, most people have treats and will keep you company if your dog runs off with other dogs. Extremely spacious and bug free fun!! Water to stay hydrated and even a bench to lay down if need be, this park has it all, LEAVE NO TRACE & enjoy!!

Not a blade of grass in the small dog park.It needs a good beach combing machine to run through there. Its only mid March 2019 so well see how well the town takes care of it. Thankfully we locals who enjoy the park clean up after our dogs. It is a nice place to keep your pup busy 😊

This park is great! There are a lot of benches and chairs to sit, fresh water for the dogs. garbages and bags for poop pickup, and some agility structures! Theres also a bunch of toys. Both the small and large dog areas are a decent size. The one negative thing is its mostly sand and theres hardly any grass for the dogs to play and run on.

Ill admit, when the park first owned I wasnt all that impressed. Since then, the town has put more work into the park adding agility training equipment, fresh water spout and cleared away more trees to make room for more open play like fetch. I would give four stars if the town came in more often to fill in the holes that some dogs dig (I nearly lost an ankle walking without looking down). I truly feel the park should be maintained on a weekly basis to ensure no animal or human gets hurt or sick. Overall, a great time for our fur babies Heidi & Levi ❤

The park itself is pretty nice. There are two separate fenced areas for large dogs and small dogs. There are training/agility items placed throughout the area for large dogs. A garbage with poop bags is also there, as well as a container and hose for drinking water for the dogs. My only complaint is that other people have come with large dogs that do not behave so well (especially with other dogs) and the owners do not step in when their dogs start to bite other peoples dogs. I do not want to go to a dog park where I have to worry about defending my dog (or kids) against other very large dogs-- this should be the owners responsibility to manage their dog. Plus, it gets very packed during certain days/times, making it uncomfortable to be there and have so many dogs with different personalities in one park.

This place is convenient for me to go to and my dog likes socializing with other dogs. However, the place has an odor of urine and not everyone picks up after their dogs. Ive also had to remove my dog several times because of other dogs being too aggressive. There also seems to be a man up there who seems to think hes the mayor of the dog park and decided its his job to police the place but cant seem to get his own dog to listen to him.

Not the most well kept of dog parks. Its really crowded here. Some owners were unwilling to manage their dogs when they were bullying other dogs. Poop bags were all empty there and lots of people didnt pick up after their dogs. Otherwise lots of space to move around and some fun obstacles.

I know this park comes with some rules, and a required pooch pass although Im not sure how strictly enforced that is. This place is great, a huge enclosed run. One for large and one for small, each has some obstacles. There is broken glass so always pick it up and throw it away if you see any!! What I love most about this park is the community! Everyone knows everyone and their woof, all are friendly, helpful and caring.

My pups love it here I just wish there was more grass and less sand. One of my dogs loves to make new 2 legged friends by bringing them the tennis balls but they are full of sand and she ends up pooping sand for days after we go.

1) Dogs here seem to be a 50/50 mix of under-socialized / well-socialized. 2) having sand as the predominant ground cover is a plus for the parks hygiene. 3) The parks layout funnels people towards the front, and Ive found a large gaggle of dogs and owners within a small area creates a recipe for dog agression.

Frequent this dog park at least twice a week. Everyone is usually respectful and nice.

Nice dog park ! Nice people went on week day not busy weekend a little more busy. Bring your own water . Also like that they have small and large separate dog area

I wish this place would have been a little cleaner. The chairs look like somebody pulled them out of the dump. I understand its a dog park, but us humans need a clean seat to park ourselves on.

Great group of dogs and lovely owners when we went. Nice wooded area for big dogs to run around in. The area for the small dogs was nice too.

Our newly adopted pitbull puppy loves loves loves this park! Its a great place for her to get all of her energy out and she has a blast!

Nice place to walk your best friends and let them wander and play....Boyle Road, Selden. Could be a bit cleaner, but that has been addressed to council - but so far no action has been taken...Overall, nice community doggie park

I take my dog here regularly. I havent had a bad experience. There is open space, shade, and plenty of people and dogs to socialize with.

If youre new at the park, let your dog(s) get acclimated on leash with the other dogs. Then keep them off leash for more freedom

Nice place but they should have a place for mid size dogs. My guy is small but bulky and can take down a little dog but hes way too small to be hanging with Huskies

Nice place, friendly people. Appreciate how they separate bigger breeds from smaller ones while allowing them to still interact. Do bring bug spray

I liked the The fact that is divided by small dogs and big dogs separate from each other.

1st time at any dog park, I found it clean, & what appeared to be responsible dog owners monitoring their dogs & picking up after them, nice agility course

Really fun. Clean and separate areas for small and large dogs. They even have clean up bags for you.

Too many unneutered hyper male dogs - they shouldn’t be allowed inside the park.

Hate it. Worst park. Aggressive dogs and nasty owners (not all but ironically the ones with aggressive dogs, who dont control or stop their dogs) my dog got his lip cut open here.

Very nice, shaded, very big, has two separate sections which makes it very big. My dog and I enjoyed it very much.

Its a fun peak and many of the dogs are super friendly. Its clean too

Two sections one for smaller dogs and one bigger area for big dogs 🐕. Plenty of bags to clean up after your dogs. Water fountain so you can get water for the dogs. Now understand this dogs can be aggressive if they are defending their ball so be very aware. My dog can careless if another dog is in area but he will fight for his ball, so I try to keep him separate.

This Brookhaven Town dog park, which requires a Pooch Pass with VERY strict rules, (which no one enforces or cares about!), is extremely disgusting. Its not cared for, looks dank & has no facilities. The one guy with his 2 dogs that was there looked very creepy. No thanks!

Very large space to bring dogs. Solid dirt, no mulch so it gets very messy after rain or snow. Lots of playful dogs and friendly owners. Bags available for clean up throughout the entire area yet many owners dont pick up after their dogs. The main reason I only gave 3 stars is because Ive encountered aggressive dogs at this facility on more than just a few occasions. I only go when the known aggressive dogs are not in the space. Why do people with obviously aggressive dogs, bring them to a dog park? Its too bad.

The ground there is mostly sand, which gets super messy and also keeps the smell of urine for a long time. Sometimes I meet nice owners and pups there but almost every other time we come with my 9 month old puppy this one dog is there and bares his teeth and growls and snarls at her. The owner just keeps saying he wont bite hes just telling her whos boss. Meanwhile mine is whimpering and basically begging to go home.I wont be going here in the future to avoid this one guy and his dog. He has also approached me multiple times and kept defending his dog. He was bossing people around. There was also an occasion where people would come with cigarettes and alcohol and get drunk with their dog (during the day?!)Nobody has a pooch pass as the park requires, so there is not any protection or liability if someones dog goes off the handle.

Dogs enjoy roaming around w other dogs. Park is kept clean and neat. Dog owners r usually friendly. Would recommend.

Very bad idea to put slats in the cyclone fence separating the big and small dog areas. Does absolutely nothing and creates a horrible smell condition because the dogs are constantly lifting their legs to.... Someone please take down these slats.
