The Guide Dog Foundation is the premier in Service Dog Training and the hime.of Americas VetDogs a ☆☆☆☆☆ Organization!
Sitting in a parking lot and saw van #22 with the back open and a dog in the kennel with no water in the kennel for 30 minutes. The water was OUTSIDE the car on the ground IN THE SUN. How can the dog get to it if it’s thirsty? Someone could have stolen the dog or the van. The employee was in the smith haven mall with another dog training. If there’s more than one dog there should be more than one employee in that van. Just because you have a window slightly open and the back completely open doesn’t mean the dog is okay. It’s 84 degrees outside. Which means it’s hotter inside. Shade only helps so much. When the lady that called the boss to complain was talking to them the employees laughed at her. That’s how much they care about these animals. Something needs to change.
I have received 2 guides from here so far, and they’ve been very professional and huge love bugs! The staff here is very kind, considerate and straight forward with their teaching approaches, they help anyway they can and it’s amazing! The trip to and from was a great experience as well. The first photo shows a picture of my first guide dog, a female golden retriever named Valley and the second photo shows my current guide dog, a male yellow lab named Peter.
Our family raised 6 seeing eye dogs. It was such a rewarding experience for the whole family. To see the puppy you held in your arms graduate and go on to lead a blind person around the world from subway stations to airplanes. We always mentioned that the directors, Mrs and Mr Beagle were so helpful with our first retriever puppy.
I suppose when people say that they visited is the happiest place on earth it means they have been to the Guide Dog Foundation .
I’ve gotten two guide dogs from this organization. They’re kind, compassionate, and training is great! Staff are wonderful and the pups are life-changers.
JUSTICE FOR MILTON!!! That was my families service dog and for your “employee” to say it was just a dog deserves to get fired how dare you and this foundation treated us. This dog was MY family he meant the absolute world to my family and especially to me. NEVER GO HERE… They will leave ur dog in the car for 5 hours to die
I just read that a staff member left poor Milton in a hot car all day and he DIED. Staff at the Guide Dog Foundation told Krupa the three-year-old black lab was left in the van from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday, July 22, when temperatures registered over 90 degrees, the report said. I WILL NO LONGER BE GIVING MONEY TO YOUR ORGANIZATION! As a Lab owner - i was sick to my stomach READING THIS STORY in NY POST -clearly your Organization has FLAWS and need to be fixed !!!!!
Debbie does a great job always happy when I leave. Friendly atmosphere
They left a customers dog in their van for 5 hours on a 90 degree day and the dog died :( now this poor women has no guide dog because of the neglect and irresponsible people working here, what a shame. I could only imagine what this poor dog was going through all alone in that hot van screaming and crying for help.
They left a dog in a hot car resulting in his death. Don’t bring your animals here for their safety. Justice for Milton.
The people here are amazing. They work hand in hand with the owners who help take care of the dogs that will ultimately be breeders for future guide dogs.
Shame on you for murdering that poor lab. He died painfully and you need to be held accountable. That dog was family and loved by someone and your negligence took him away.
Associated through Americas VetDogs...blown away by the experience. Placed with Sacha and couldnt imagine a better fit. The SA training (both for dog and handler) is complete and focused on my exact needs.
I used to volunteer here and it was a really great experience. Very friendly and professional people. This is a great organization to be a part of and/or support.
A great organization that helps the visually and physically disabled. Become a puppy raiser and become a part of this wonderful organization.
Non profit organization that supplies guide dogs for the Blind and service dogs to veterans. I have raised 2 dogs for them. Could not say enough good things about what they do
People who truly care. Recipients of service dogs are in for a treat with Chef Kevins dail meals
Awesome Place for Veterans who needs a dog as a companion.
The guide Dog foundation, takes care of all the 🐕 that are working, what plesnt place. Every one is always helpful.
This is a great organization for people and dogs!
Love Dr. Handelman!! Best vet and takes the time to explain everything!
Best Guide and Service Dog Training Center. Received 2 fabulous guide here
Motivated trainers. Compassionate support staff. Great campus.
Beautiful campus. Security is tight so make sure you call the party youre going to see before you get there. You will be waiting outside if you dont.
Justice for Milton the black lab. His family deserves compensation due to the lack of judgment from the trainer that’s responsible. Hopefully he/she was fired and reported.
I am currently raising my 2nd puppy for the Guide Dog Foundation, and I often say, this has truly been one of the greatest things I have every done/been involved with. The support and the people are amazing, and the dogs, perfection. Have visited the facility multiple times for tours, and soon, our first graduation ceremony! Great cause, fantastic organization (very high marks on charity navigator, etc.). HIGHLY recommend to anyone as a great place to visit, get involved, volunteer, donate, and of course, puppy raise!
Shameful to leave a dog to die in a hot car
Patty is immensely valuable to the community of four-legged creatures and provides the insight of canine shaman to the two-legged caretakers.
Huge place, workers are nice, managers aren’t. Said they would call and never did. If you want a dog from here you need to annoy them to even get a response. Expensive.
This is by far the best place if you are ever in need of a Guide or Service Dog.
They do wonderful work here.
Great place to volunteer! Wonderful staff and the sweetest dogs!!
Fantastic program, staff, trainers, volunteers and dogs.
Trained a guide dog tito and loved it and love helping out
They do a wonderful job.
Party M is the heart and soul of this place.
