Whitestone Doghouse

First time and last time I will be using this boarding facility! I left my four year old French Bulldog with them for nine days and came to pick him up today. Before leaving the facility, I noticed his rear end and scrotum were swollen red and raw (pics below). I told them we did not leave him in this condition and when we called them with in the week, up until yesterday before picking him up they did not mention anything about this issue!! The caretaker had a dumb look on his face and said he probably laid in his urine and was probably licking himself. I couldn’t believe my ears that the caretaker was confessing that they were neglecting my dog, even though they supposedly claimed that they clean the cages 2-3 times a day. I refrained from going back and forth with the caretaker, and immediately took my dog to the veterinarian since he was in pain. When the veterinarian examined my dog, the first question he asked was how sanitized is the boarding facility?? He concluded that my dog has an infection due to him sitting in his own urine/feces or laying in a cage that has not been properly cleaned. Never thought a place such as this would neglect a small dog that’s been there for the first time. If you are a person who seriously loves their dog be cautious about this place!! And just like a classic money grab business, they will flip the situation and blame the dog for having diarrhea? For 9 whole days??!?? And not CONTACT the owners on the issue? Nice try…. Smh.. Now they want to blame it on the Olive oil that they barely used!… OMG!!!

12/20/24- This is my second time boarding Zina for a week I was sad to leave my baby but knew that Mike Chris and staff would take care of my baby I got videos everyday and Zina looked happy I was relieved but still miss my baby I appreciate you all and especially Joe you guys are the Very Best n Always go Above n Beyond!!! Thank You So Much For Taking Care of My Zina!! This is the only place I would leave my baby!! I Highly Recommend this place!!!!This is the first time we leave our Zina in a boarding place but Mike made it easy for us and he said our baby is now his baby Mike N Chris sent us a video we were happy for that so we were comfortable n not worry We so happy we picked Whitestone Doghouse a Clean and Safe Place they bathe our baby we give this place 10STARS your PET will be SAFE N HAPPY HERE!!! I was impressed with the speedy initial contact with information and the tour I asked for the very next morning. I loved the place right off the bat especially that the dogs are not locked in enclosed cages and there are cameras that staff can monitor them. The staff seem happy to be working there, very caring about your dog and knowledgeable. I was able to see the grooming area and loved how nice the gentlemen were taking care of grooming the dogs. I especially loved the area in the back for the smaller dogs where my pup stayed. During the week I communicated with the owner Mike and received video and pics of my pup while I was away. Overall I am happy with this place and will bring my pup there again during my next vacation next year. Thank you everyone at whitestone dog house!

I don’t normally write reviews, but Whitestone Doghouse absolutely deserves 5 stars! My doodle pup is my baby, and I am always so nervous to try new groomers because I want to make sure that she a) looks great and b) is treated well! We were in town visiting family for a couple of months and needed to have her hair cut, so I spent hours combing through reviews of groomers in the area. It was all the positive reviews of Whitestone Doghouse that made me comfortable giving it a try, so I’m happy to contribute my feedback.It was super easy to get booked, we dropped her off at her appointment with no problems, and they called with plenty of time for us to get back to the shop and pick her up. I was super pleased with her haircut - they knew exactly what I meant about wanting a “clean face” instead of the normal “doodle beard” and gave me exactly the look I was wanting. When I picked her up, the owner also took the time to give me a few tips on how to brush the fur around the tops of her legs to avoid matting.I was so happy with the experience that I actually booked an additional appointment to have her groomed again before we left town! Our girl will be getting her hair cut here every time we’re in the area!

Lilly and Pepe were boarded there 2 days and the third day they were very sweet and understanding that I was on the white stone bridge and was stuck there . The dogs came back and were tuckered out , the place is clean and they board big and small dogs separate . Very understanding and great staff as well as polite and friendly respectful and I had no issue or feeling bad when I seen the place and staff.

I love this place we’ve been coming since we moved to Whitestone five years ago. They get very busy. A couple of times I had to take them to another place. And I was not happy with the service. I have two cavalier king Charles. One other place almost chop the ears off. To get the knots out. This place takes their time they care. And they’ll do their best not to have to cut A knot in their hair . If I have to wait I will only go to them for now on. As were speaking now they’re both getting given a bath. Thank you guys👌💯 Like the saying goes you pay for what you get. And great service. So I would advise anyone if they’re desperate to get the dogs groomed. I’d rather wait a month and get groomed with Whitestone to walk house.

Really love this place, I’ve taken my dogs twice now and they always look great and they cut there hair the way I wanted it to look like. I have a 2 year old mini goldendoodle and they are always on point with his haircuts unlike his previous groomer who would never really listen to what I wanted. They also are able to cut really well my 7 year old terrier mix who can be a little difficult especially with his feet but he always looks AWESOME and they always have his feet trimmed! This is the most recent time I brought them and they put them both on a cute bandana as you can see both were ready for spooky season! They are totally worth the price for the quality they give you.

Very Happy with their service, prices are extremely reasonable. Mike and his staff are awesome and true dog people. Would definitely recommend to anybody who needs to board a dog.

Great folks who truly care. My dog Nipper can be a handful at times but the Doghouse new he was a good kid and took care of him when we needed to board him for a week. Updates while Nipper was in house and follow up afterward. Recommended!

I have an older Shih Tzu that really doesnt like having his paws touched. I have taken him to other groomers who unfortunately start complaining. There is no bigger turn off than this. Whitestone Doghouse has been accommodating and they have been so good and patient with him. They always leave him looking great. I also love that there is both a community and family feel when you arrive to their location. I am very happy to have found them.

BEST OVERNIGHT DOGHOUSE IN NYC! The first time I had my dog Runa stay with Whitestone was for my family vacation and I worried that I would be gone too long and she would not be happy or well cared for, BUT that feeling only lasted for as long as it took me to arrive at Whitestone Doghouse, because when I walked in through that door everyone was so welcoming and Runa was absolutely happy, never had a moment to get nervous because she was received with so much attention and love. The staff also sent me pictures white I was away and assured me that she was happy and having fun. Last but not least the exit bath is a amazing service, to know that she is coming home clean means EVERYTHING to me!!!!!! The entire team at Whitestone Doghouse is phenomenal! I’ve been bringing my senior dog here for boarding recently and they are not only professional — they’re also incredibly caring and knowledgeable. When I was out of the country for two weeks, I knew my pup was well taken care of and wouldn’t get lost in the shuffle of one of those places with hundreds of dogs. I cannot recommend them enough! I love this place! Every time I go on vacation I board my dog Knox at WhiteStone Doghouse. I couldnt be happier with the experience. From the moment I walk through their doors, I am always greeted with warmth and professionalism. Knox gets so excited every time he goes there. Everyone at Whitestone Doghouse loves Knox and always takes such great care of him. The staff always demonstrates a genuine love for animals, and it is evident in the way they interact with all of the animals there. I have been bringing Molly to The Whitestone Dog house ever since she was a puppy. Mike ,Chris and there team are great. They love Molly and she always looks so cute . I love the way they groom her . Molly gets greeted with hugs and kisses. They went above and beyond to call a vet in town to get Molly her shots the same day so I could keep her appointment for her grooming . What a lovely and caring staff. Mike, the owner, has an immaculate establishment whether you are boarding or utilizing the day care or grooming services. My somewhat nervous furbaby received so much TLC during her stay at Whitestone Doghouse and she came home with a beautiful shiny coat and it was obvious that she had a week filled with fun as she came home and went right to sleep from so much play time with all of her new friends. Our puppy stays at Whitestone Doghouse once a week and Im happy we found a daycare that Im comfortable leaving him in for the day. Cris did our pups evaluation and answered all our questions. Since then, I drop off our pup with Mike and our pup is always so excited when we get there. Mike is very helpful when we have questions about our puppys behavior and takes the time to make a recommendation. The staff is also friendly and seems happy to see and take care of the dogs. I recommend this daycare and boarding facility.

Ive boarded my dog Zeus here twice and they have been nothing but great! Very friendly, communicative and Zeus is always happy when I pick him up and tuckered out. Definitely my go to boarding place. Highly recommend, thank you guys for taking such great care.

Great people to work with. When I first brought my dog home, they even made me a dog tag that my dog still has it was nice of them to make for him. Last few times I went I was very happy with the grooming. My dog looked and smelled fantastic he even received complements from strangers after I left. My dog is also very happy coming here and he does not make a big fuss coming in. The business is small, but they do a great job and the price is good they are also very knowledgeable and answer all questions you may have. I even bought a harness from them to replace a damaged one not only did it last longer, but it was cheaper than online. I will definitely be going back. I highly recommend them for all your dogs needs.

Great for grooming, daycare, and training! They are very honest and genuinely want to help. They are the only people I trust to groom my dog. They always listen to what we want and he looks too adorable every single time! Mike has worked wonders with training our other dog. If it wasnt for all his help I dont know what we would do. Mainly just come for nail trimmings for both my dogs (a 100lb redbone coonhound and a 25lb husky pomeranian) but the service has always been exceptional and the staff are so loving and kind. Would recommend for your grooming needs

Whitestone doghouse has an amazing team of people. They truly care about your animals. The grooming is top notch and trainer is awesome my puppy has learned so much and always smells amazing as well as my older dog. I brought my puppy to be boarded here for 8 days. After touring other facilities, I was immediately impressed with their cleanliness and atmosphere which helped to settle my anxiety of leaving our dog. Mike and Chris where always available to answer any questions or concerns and you can tell the staff here really loves animals. My puppy was happy and healthy when I came to pick her up which was all I could ask for.

I have groomed my dog in many different places in the past 4.5 years and today was the first time that I was pleasantly surprised by his appearance. These groomers went above and beyond my expectations. Rachel is very sweet and caring. My dog looked and smelled absolutely wonderful and he was so happy! They even gave us a scarf and doggy goody bag on the way out!! You should really give this place a try.

Very happy with my choice to board my dog Nacho at whitestone doghouse while we traveled. He had such a good time! The staff sent me pics and kept in touch with me so I knew he was safe and happy. And he didn’t seem “off” at all afterwards when we brought him home, which has happened in the past, so I know he was in good hands. Can’t recommend this place enough!

I bought my puppy harness, raincoat and some chewy treats in here for a reasonable price! Chris and Bianca were very nice and professional in helping me patiently find the right stuff for my English Bulldog puppy. Their daycare and boarding are clean too! Can’t wait for my 5 months old puppy to go to their daycare and meet new friends! I recommend this place! :)

My son and I went to Whitestone Doghouse to take a tour before boarding my tiny yorkshire terrier Arya. Mike was wonderful, kind and patient with all of my questions. Whitestone was the place that fit Arya’s needs. She is not boarding until June, but I felt comfortable enough to board her there. Will write another review after boarding is complete. Would I recommend so far, absolutely.

My dog Daisy attends daycare at the Whitestone Doghouse 3 days a week since I work nearby. I know she is in great hands as soon as I drop her off! She loves all the dogs there and the staff is very attentive. You can tell everyone there loves the dogs. Highly recommended for daycare!

We dropped off our 1 year old mini labradoodle for 2 weeks & he was given excellent care. We received pictures & videos every couple of days & he always looked so happy. Absolutely LOVE this place! My dog comes home from being groomed and is totally relaxed. I have been to different groomers and she has always been stressed. Eddie and the staff genuinely care for the animals and it shows in their work! I would highly recommend it for both boarding and grooming as i have done both!

The groomers at Whitestone dog house took such great care of our dog. My pup is very nervous and hates to be bathed, brushed, or trimmed at home. Ever since I got my dog when he was 3 months old (he’s 2 now), I’ve been taking him to Whitestone Dog House. I know Cris & Mike very well, and I seriously would never take my dog anywhere else! I never have to tell them what I want because they know my dog and know what I like. It’s really refreshing to be able to drop him off with no worry and pick him up when he’s ready! Always look fly! The entire shop is great, everyone knows what they’re doing, and at the end of the day they truly love dogs and I see that everytime I step inside! Thank you guys, I’m a customer for life!

It was the first time boarding our 18 month old Rottie. I was afraid to leave him with just anybody. We found the Whitestone Doghouse and knew immediately this was the place for Kash. As soon as I walked in with him I knew I made the right choice. The owner knew I was nervous about leaving him and he even sent sent me videos and pictures while I was on vacation. Kash was very happy when we came to pick him up and I knew he was well taken care of. We will definitely leave him at Whitestone for our next vacation. I have used the Whitestone Doghouse on several occasions and consider myself fortunate to have found the place.They listen to all my concerns andinstructions, My dog Bella has been under treatment for cancer over a yearnow and I want and get special attention for her. The first time there she didnt want to eat and they were concerned enough to hand feed her. (Thank you guys). And by the way, I call every day when away to get an update onhow she is and rhey are never too busy to talk.

What can I say?? They are SO amazing.. as a first time puppy family we didn’t know who to trust with him and we truly fell into the BEST hands.. the BEST groomers, daycare trainers .. if I can give them 100 starts I would! We LOVE Whitestone Doghouse

Mike, and Chris, the staff is caring, attentive to all our needs. Our Nikko and Diesel come back happy and excited, every time. I have a piece of mind, when I leave my dogs with you.. Diesel requires eye medication and eye drops everyday, his eyes are bright and clear when I bring him home.Guys keep it up, I am very pleased with your services. The groomers are fantastic.

Whitestone Doghouse has groomed my older Golden several times and do a wonderful job. They take extra care with him because he is older and his back legs are weak. Chris and Mike are attentive and responsive-great guys. Will be booking another appointment next week.

The Whitestone Doghouse has the best and friendliest service in town. Prices are good and they have an environmental conscience and support local businesses. My dogs love them and so do I.

I don’t usually post cause I’m too lazy. But after 3x of EXCELLENT service of my senior shiba inu, I feel like I must. Everyone here is always going out of their way to make things as comfortable for my grumpy, old, and anxious dog as possible. The grooming is always done on time and I just really feel like I lucked out finding this place. They do an excellent job, especially doing shedding season. They also have excellent dog food that I am switching to. Not going anywhere else!!!!!

I dealt primarily with Mike. He was remarkably patient with both me and my dog. His suggestions were excellent. He has excellent “people skills” as well as dog training skills. He makes himself clear in a polite, patient manner.So, he gets results. Highly recommend.

Let me start off by saying I have a feisty 8 pound chihuahua yorkie mix who is as codependent as can be. I was terrified of leaving him alone for a few days because when you have a pet, that’s your baby and of course you wouldn’t want to leave your baby with just anyone. From the minute I brought him in I felt so comfortable, everyone is super friendly and welcoming and I immediately felt better about having him stay there. I’ve also taken Apollo (the feisty chihuahua) here to get groomed and they’re fantastic. I couldn’t recommend Cris & Mike’s place enough, they’re exactly the people you’d want to look after your pet if you couldn’t look after them.

Excellent business with great customer service. They have an amazing selection of raw food, snacks and treats with a knowledgeable staff who truly loves dogs. Haven’t boarded my dog there yet but every time I drop by, the place looks spotless and all the pups look very happy.

I have a senior male dog with IVDD and a pup.IVDD is a very sensitive and delicate back issue and my dog can be aggressive due to this. When I tell you these people running and working the shop are AMAZING, KIND, and ACCOMMODATING. Wow. 5 stars isn’t enough. Thank you so much. My dogs smell amazing and I am so sorry for the crazy morning they gave you at your shop. I never thought I could get my old man groomed but you guys really moved my fiancé and me. may the universe bless this shop.

The dog grooming team at Whitestone Doghouse are one of the best in the borough. I adopted a 4 yr old maltese last year who has severe separation anxiety. They are so affectionate with my fur baby, they take there time to lessen his stress levels. looks amazing and is well kept. We used the local petco in the passed he refuse to go inside and would cry/shiver. Now he is just the most happiest playful dog both before and after each appointment with Whitestone Doghouse. Recently moved about 23 miles away and will still continue to bring my little guy here.

First full groom for my yorkie puppies here. Bianca is skilled, friendly and knowlegable (and patient with me!). She was able to groom to pictures I provided and totally nailed it. This is our place now. :) My pups were happy when I picked them up, not at all stressed so I know they were well taken of. Before and after pics provided.

I love taking my dog to Whitestone Doghouse, they are so attentive and actually care about your pet. I had concerns about taking my dog to a new groomer because he had been abused by his previous groomer and he always has anxiety the moment he realizes I am going to leave him somewhere alone, but I know he is safe in their hands and he always comes home looking beautiful.

First time bringing my wired hair fox terrier, Trixie here. Shes a nervous dog. But Bianca was great with her. Trixie came out BEAUTIFUL!!! Highly recommend.

I have been sending my now 5 yr old Pomsky since he was a puppy, even before the new owners took over. I was nervous at first but, quickly got over it once I saw how handsome my boy looked and how happy he was. Because he is double coated, I like the fact that they take their time with him and take breaks in between as to not stress him out. I can drop him off at my scheduled time and he is there as long as it takes. Its like hes having his own spa day. They dont rush. I will continue to take him there as long as I can and so should you.

I was able to get the first appointment and my puppy was done in 1 1/2 hours. Was very pleased with the attention and security they gave him when we walked in. This was the second time My Cooper was serviced by them and I was very pleased with their work. . Would use them again

I will never ever go to whitestone grooming ever again and I would never let anyone else I know go there. I brought my dog in for a haircut yesterday he was perfectly fine, walking and running around. When I picked him up he couldn’t even put his back left paw down. I took him to the ER right away and they said he was probably dropped or fell on the table at the groomers and his knee cap is now out of place and he needs surgery. I called back to see what happened and they denied everything, no accountability no remorse. We asked for a video to see what happened and they apparently “don’t have”. I will find out what happened and everyone please be careful before bringing in your pet. Now my poor baby has to go to the vet tomorrow and I have to pray that surgery will fix the mistake they made. If I could give 0 stars I would.

I loved the way my Pup looked coming out of the groomer. They did such a beautiful Job. Her hair grew in so nicely. They did just what i asked them to do. They were quick she was only with them for about 2 hrs and they called me when she was ready.

Glad that I found a place where my dog is safe and happy. Smells really good and clean. I left my pup there this Memorial Day weekend and I couldn’t of had a better experience. My boy champ didn’t want to leave, I’ll be sure to go back to board my dog for Labor Day weekend!

Take my dog there every time I need to travel or get groomed. Dropped her off today and she ran right in and didnt even look back, thats how I know she is in great hands and well taken care of she loves it there. Top notch service and great prices!

Buddy had a wonderful bath and spa treatment this month.He is a 12 year old beagle-terrier and was treated with so much TLC.Special attention was given because of his “anxieties”.We both appreciated the professional, pleasant interactions!And he smells so good !!!

When I picked Ethel Mae up she looked beautiful! She was groomed exactly as I had requested.Michael noticed a severe problem with her breathing as soon as I brought her in. He strongly suggested that I bring her to her vet ASAP. I did. Unfortunately it was an existing chronic condition that could not be treated.I thank him for being so concerned about her health.

For my dog this was her first groomer experience. They did a great job, great products and beautiful coat after.Her teeth too were cleaned and with fresh breath.

Wish they told me my to bring my dogs’s distemper, rabbies and bordetella vaccines before I drove half an hour to the store during rush hours. The front desk is also having a rude attitude for new customers. Don’t recommend going here for grooming

These guys are good. I left my dog there for 3 weeks to go to Europe and when I picked her up she was totally normal like I just went away for 5 minutes. The previous year I left her for 3 weeks at Waggers in Bayside, and she had lost 20% of her body weight, had her tail bitten, and was frantic.

The staff at Whitestone Doghouse are professional and friendly. They always took great care of our dogs Max and Ginger when I left them there to stay for a few days while I was out of town.

Used to live across the street and take my black lab here for boarding. Will never go here again after I picked up my pitbull from boarding and he was drugged. He could barely stand up and when I asked what was wrong with him the owner gave me half a pink pill and said it was “left over”. I’m not sure if he confused dogs and gave mine medication unauthorized by me or if he took it upon himself to just sedate my dog but beware of this place! My neighbor told me after she heard my complaints that she stopped using this place after she saw the owner hitting her dog (also a pitbull) with a pole on the camera upstairs from kennel. Apparently he is scared of Pitbulls.

Been going here since my dog was a pup. Now hes 4 and his little bro is one. They both get groomed here and come out looking and smelling great. Would recommend.

We have been going to you guys for about 10 years and lately you have been rude over the phone telling us we dont have an appointment when we call and confirm our appointments. Screaming at us over the phone telling us we are liars that we have no appointment scheduled. It’s ridiculous how the last few times you guys have serviced us with attitude and rudeness. You guys have lost a customer over the way you treat people. We own a business ourselves and never treat a client the way you guys have. I hope you guys learn how to speak to people. Like I previously stated we have been going to this establishment for years and have never been treated how we have the last few times.

They do a a great job. Nick looks so handsome after his summer “hair” cut.They are very pleasant and accommodating.I used to go to Petco but they are horrible there.

Both Chris and Mike go above and beyond to make sure you feel comfortable leaving your dog with them. Astrid is always excited when we pull up and acts like I’m a stranger once inside. : ).

My puppy came out of her grooming appointment unrecognizable (IN THE BEST WAY). She had gotten groomed elsewhere in the past and I was never as blown away as I was with her grooming from Whitestone! I felt very at ease that she was in good hands. Will definitely be returning!

Hi this is the only place in the area that knows how to groom a husky. My dog is a rescue and required tons of patience as he is over all fearful. They treated him with tons of TLC and did an excellent job removing layers of fur some even matted.

I have been relying on Whitestone Doghouse for over a decade to care for my 3 dogs when I travel. They are a family owned company which I love. They really care for pets and ensure that the dogs are happy while in their care. Eddie, Rachel, and the team are really nice and are responsive to my pets needs. However I have not been there since the new owners took over... hopefully theyre just as great.

Professional, clean environment where I felt safe and comfortable having my dog groomed. I had to make a rather last minute change to my appointment the day before and they were very accommodating. My schnauzer was groomed perfectly! I would highly recommend.

Love this place!! My dog Chloe has boarded many times here and the staff and owner are fantastic. You can tell they are passionate about animals. Chloe came home after grooming and they did a beautiful job also they gave us a cute sweater for her and a matching ribbon in her hair. They absolutely put 100 percent into everything they do! This is my number 1 place for groom and board!
