Favorite spot in Queens for our active pup!We can just spend hours here walking along water with gorgeous view, catch beautiful sunset in evening.. there are seemingly infinite spots to spread out a blanket and enjoy picnic time! A lot of activities to do for everyone. Lots of doggo friends at this park, we really enjoy our time here every time!
Beautiful, big, maintained park by the water. Very peaceful and relaxing area. I come here with my fur baby all the time, most of the times dogs are friendly but sometimes there have been reactive dogs, just have to be cautious who surrounds your fur baby
The walking path is absolutely perfect in distance and a wide open view of the water. There are children and older folks, walking, biking, walking their dogs, jogging, fishing. Theres a wonderful little libraryto pick up somethings to read. There is an ice cream truck parked in the parkinglot often. We love it
Definitely the best dog park weve been to so far. People are friendly. Park is a nice size with an additional small park for smaller dogs. Everyone gets to know each others dogs which is important. Usually have a pool for the dogs to play in on hot days, bring a towelI definitely recommend for anyone looking for a good dog park in Queens
Great place to start a run. Little Bay to Fort Totten, then down Cross Island to to the Northern Blvd exit makes for a 5k run. Round trip for a 10k. Throw in two rounds on Fort Totten in this route for about a 10 mile run. There are two soccer fields and a picturesque jetty. A true gem in the neighborhood.
Beautiful place to walk your pet & they have a dog park h lots of parking & the restroom is for the most part clean.
If your not white don’t go there … bc Karen’s will ask if you live in the neighborhood… and what are you doing there . Or they will make you feel unwelcome
The surrounding is very nice, as you can usually let your doggies off-leash on the grass outside. As for the dog run itself, nothing special. Over all pretty good place to hang with your dogs
Fun place to take the pups. Beautiful spot just under the Throgs Neck Bridge. its all sand and theres no shade so dont go when its too hot
I try to look for dog parks with an enclosed space (because as well behaved as my dog is, I know she likes to run and make me chase her. And that can be very risky in an uncontrolled high traffic area) I was looking for a decently spaced park. Not to big to where I could lose sight of her but also not too small to where she wouldn’t enjoy herself. I took her to this park because I wanted her to get to socialize as it’s been a while and for her to lay and sunbathe in the grass (her favorite hobby from where we used to live) THERE IS. NO. GRASS. And the dogs are very unruly. I wanted more for my dog instead of going around on a leash for a few blocks only for a couple patches of grass. Everywhere else is concrete. Rocks. Gravel. Nothing. I don’t know whose bright idea it was to make a dog park, and then fill it with sharp hot rocks. If I wanted to visit a patch of rocks, I would’ve just gone out to my front yard. Very disappointing.
Great dog park, even has a hose to cool your puppy with - plus a great view
My doggo loved her walk there. She told me to give it a 4/5 stars due to not having enough fire hydrants to pee on
A pebble dog Park which is good for your dogs paws every so often to exfoliate them. All the dogs are pretty friendly and the park is nice a large for a good run.
Well maintained dog run with well behaved dogs when Ive been there
This is one of the nicest dog runs on the eastern side of Queens. The people who campaigned to have it built really maintain it. Most dog owners clean up after their dogs but there are a few inconsiderate dog owners. Most of the dogs play nice, Ive seen an aggressive dog there twice and they wound up leaving.
Came here for soccer, easy to miss the parking lot. Huge field. Working water fountains and great views
This dog park is very clean and well kept. There are 2 sections, a bigger section of the park is for larger dogs and the smaller section is for smaller dogs. Not many people knew the smaller portion was meant for the smaller dogs and often let the dachshunds play with the Alaskan malamutes in the big dog section. Both areas have gravel and fountains for both human and dogs. There are also faucet for hose and fill the little swimming tubs up for doggoes to cool down. Outside of the park there is a porta potty. Both sections have 2 double gate access points to prevent run away dog. However, you often have to remind new dog owners and their relatives to lock the outside door before opening the inner door. There are two parking area, within the little bay area. There are also street parking.I am a regular here, however, there are more and more new dog owners bringing their problem dogs here. And it is driving the regulars away.
Nice park at a beautiful location. Great views. One can go for jogging, biking or even kayaking.
The gravel gets hot and is harmful in the summer. Its not even smooth gravel, so its sharp for paws on top of that. If a nice green lawn is too costly to maintain, theres artificial turf. Even just dirt would be better than sharp gravel.
I grew up with dogs, was an animal science major in college, worked with the busiest vet in western Mass, the animal control officer and fostered and trained rescues. Im not a noob.Starting with the positives. Theres parking at Little Bay Park! The dog park has a good size, with plenty of benches, a canopy over some benches for the hotter days, a dog water fountain and even a small pool and hose. There is a smaller section for those who are worried about their dogs safety with some of the other dogs in the larger area. Unfortunately, there is a need for this small area. Some, maybe half the dog owners here have well trained or well behaved dogs. Others dont. Some who dont have well trained dogs keep an eye on their dogs. Many who dont have trained dogs at this park do NOT keep an eye on their dogs at all. Unfortunately, many in this group also believe that ALL dogs are as badly behaved or ill-trained as theirs and that its okay that their dog was picking up another dog by its throat and totally okay that their dog had another dogs head in its mouth when the other dog was trying to get away from the offending dog. Thats how dogs play they say while theirs is one of only a couple playing that way out of the dozen or more at the park.Apparently, its also okay if their dog spends the entirety of its time trying to mount another dog. While there are more well trained, well behaved dogs (and owners) at Little Bay park that would like to use this dog park section, they do not enter for fear of their dogs safety or simply to not deal with the types of owners mentioned above.I have brought my dog here at least a dozen times. She needs exercise and likes to play but she also doesnt care whos where in the pecking order. Pecking orders matter in a home with a pack. Visiting dogs are not a pack. Apparently, to some of the dog owners here, their dogs establishing an unenforceable and totally arbitrary pecking order is the perfect scapegoat for their dogs bad training or bad socialization. But lets say, for arguments sake, that a pecking order is needed. When a dog submits the other dog should lay off. Problem is, thats what a trained dog would do. Many of these dogs are not and their owners are not capable or willing to follow through on their logic.A dog behaves how its owner allows it to. Dog parks are often a representation of the area it resides in. Until the owners visiting Little Bay Park are prepared to take Little Bay dog park for their well-behaved dogs, the area and this park will unfortunately continue to be ruined by the badly behaved and/or untrained.
We love this park due to location and size, and its pretty well maintained. Recently our boy has come home with ripped up paw pads though, I guess those rocks are pretty sharp! Parents be aware if your dog likes to tear around like ours does
One of my hidden treasures in Queens. Mostly underneath the Throgs Neck bridge, this area has a large gravel/sand park for medium-large dogs and a separate smaller dog area for smaller dogs. The regulars who visit there are cordial and respectful. Plan to spend hours there to get your pooch acclimated to other dogs which should go well due to other dog owners help/advice and assistance. Other than Dogs the entire park has much space for lounging on the meadows or shade from trees on the far end entrance (not by the main parking lot). You can ride your bike, scooter, rollerblade, jog or simply walk the 2mile stretch where you meet the water baffles (huge rocks) which you can navigate on..at your own risk about 60ft into the water. Bring a cooler, lawn chairs and your children to have a blast.
Dog park is great. Most people and pups who go there are friendly and respectful of each. Currently in the middle of some construction but still plenty of space. It is divided into 2 areas with a small area for smaller dogs.
Free dog park, usually friendly dog owners. Theres a water fountain for your pup and baggies to help clean up the mess.Plenty of grass nearby if you wanna go for a walk instead. Probably too cold in the winter and or too hot in the middle of summer but the vibe here is just right during fall season.
The “regulars” are very rude and don’t watch their dogs. They just like to sit and chat with each other so when one of their dogs nipped my dogs ear (thank god my dog was fine) I was the only one who saw it. When I brought it to the owner’s attn so she could keep an eye on her dog, she and her friends immediately accused me of lying, said I didn’t belong there and told me to go to another park. A normal person would’ve said “I’m sorry to hear that is your dog ok” but these people aren’t normal. They’re nasty, belligerent and act like mean girls in high school. Not to mention, the park is filthy bc they don’t clean up after their dogs.
Great place to hangout with your dog.
This is one of the nicer dog runs in Queens. Its quite a bit cleaner from other dog runs and the choice to use gravel instead of wood chips or plain dirt is nice. Theres always a decent group of owners and pets there and the separate large/small dog runs are nice. Theres adequate benches, water and plenty of running space and a nice quality awning for shade.Parks could do a better job with replenishing the gravel and cleaning up the ripped up geotextile fabric thats started to surface in the last few months. The broken gate to the big dog run needs to be permanently fixed.
Nice little inlet that has different sections for large and small dogs. People are friendly and there is a diverse selection of dogs who play. Owners are in control of their dogs and will intercede when roughhousing gets too rough.
Love this place! Beautiful spot to walk our dogs and let them sniff butts off leash in the fenced dog run! There is a small dog area and big dog area, but usually everyone just goes to the big dog area.
Great park right under Throgneck bridge with a beautiful view of Bronx and Westchester. The dog park is spacious and there is another enclosure for smaller dogs within the bigger park. Both have drinking water fountains for dogs. Great place for you and your dog.
Baileys (my dog) had fun of course. its okay I went when it was hot. There was only one small space with shade. It was very hot and when I wasnt in the same shaded area it was extremely hot. They should add more areas with shade for the summer.
This is a really nice place to bring your dogs. Its a decent size so they can have lots of fun running around. My dogs loved it!
The park is kept clean and its a very nice run from the Throgs Neck Bridge to Northern blvd. That is currently construction going on Along The Pedestrian walk from 28th street to Northern Boulevard. There are public restrooms on the Fort Totten end of the bike path
Great place to take your dog but Id keep on eye on him/her. Some people have aggressive dogs and dont care if their dog bites another or is overly dominant. You get used to the faces and know whos who. I only take my dog inside when certain people are not there. Made friends and thats the oknly time when she goes is if its just us (late at night or cooooold winter days)
Honestly it’s ok. Sometimes people don’t pick up after their dogs and there are also a lot of people who don’t seem to take good care of their dogs ….
My dogs love this place, the people that go here are friendly and they keep their dogs well groom, they clean after their dogs, there is a good size run for the big dogs and a separate run for little dogs, also a working fire hydrant water fountain and a hose to cool down your dog in the summer months.
My puppy loves the park and always has so much fun! Thank you to the volunteers who put the bags around the park and make sure there is a doggie pool in the summer. Mowgli and I Thank you!
Thought this would be a cute, clean, and fun place to be but one owner let his reactive pit mix off leash and while my back was turned (trying to grab my dog that went to hide under a bench) the pit mix came from the other side and grabbed my yorkie by the neck and wouldn’t let go. Got my dog out of its mouth safely, but the owner finally walked over and said to me “oh I don’t know who started it”. Be safe everyone! Keep an eye on your dog at all times. Even though I watch my dog like a hawk, I no longer trust anyone enough to go back to a dog park. Not blaming any dog breed, but bad owners + irresponsible thinking equals a recipe for disaster.
A fun little dog park underneath the throgs neck bridge. But dont take that literally, its just close by. Not too crowded the times I visited and the dogs always have a blast playing with each other.
Great park, close to the water so it is very pretty. Has a good dog run. Be ready with warm clothes in the cooler months, with it so close to the water it can be chilly!
Nice place two separate areas.
Great dog run. Clean and friendly people and pups when I’ve been there. Pay attention to your dog at all times like always tho - anything can happen.
Love the early morning crowd!
Usually Im forced to go there with my mom but Its a very nice place, nice little rock dock right by the water that I like to climb up and the cute doggies are adorablee
Nice area for the dogs with a good cover area to protect the humans against the sun.careful because some owners forget to clean their dogs poops. Dog loves it!
Cute place for taking my dogs for playing, the only thing I didn’t like and won’t return is because of the gravel ground cover, it made my dog paws’ bleed :(
Good spot for dogs just at night very spooky no batherooms
Family and dog friendly park. Good for running and walking as well
I brought my dog here for the first time. Met nice people and enjoyed the fact that there are 2 runs, one for small dogs like mine and one for larger dogs.
Ive been running at this beautiful bay for 8 years, I think is perfect for just about everything including relaxing 😌
Super dog park: friendly people, water available to dogs, plenty of space to play, big dog/little dog spaces for your preference, great big park to walk before or after.
Nice first time experience. Will be back. One of the more active dog parks in the local neighborhood. Nice ppl, nice dogs 👍
Great place. Well kept by dog owners. If your dog is not friendly dont go.
Great place if you have a dog I like it because the have separate area for little dogs and ever one is friendly
Love this place. Clean has a beautiful view also. Great bike trail too
Perfect place for your dog to run free
Good place been going for years, they need to fix the awning so its more share in the summer already.
Great dog park! Meet New friends and their dogs. Most excellent indeed!
We love to bring our dog here. Plenty of room to run, nice dogs and people, too!
Lovely park for dog lovers to bring their dogs to socialize or have play dates. Very friendly environment
Great places to walk/run with your dog and allow them to socialize in a gate pen.
Its nothing for the dogs to play and enjoy, just a closing area with a gate. Who built this place definitely doesnt love animals.
Its relatively clean but there are humpy dogs so do pay attention.
Its a nice dog park with a big area but not much shade unfortunately
Love this dog park! Always a friendly crowd and well taken care of.
Great running spot with beautiful scenes. You will always find tons of runners to run along with.
We love walking at the park. Dogs have their special space as well.
Nice and clean place . Next to the fort Totten park. Which makes it more precious.
Needs some love and attention but good group of people bring dogs here very few bad owners.
River is dried up this year so stench from river is being given off... main Street traffic is also very close
Love it our baby girl can run around and play with other four legged friends
Great place to take pictures of your wedding, or special occasion due to the beautiful background.
Loved it!
Always friendly dog parents who dont mind our 2 pitts.
I wish I didnt live 3 hours away. This place is amazing!
Nice quiet less populated place good to spend quality time with my son.
Its beautiful and the people and their pets are sweet!!
Great place for zoomies and good old fashioned butt sniffs.
A little confusing but we finally found it. We were disappointed at there were a majority of big dogs that were misbehaving.
A very clean place with a beautiful view. Also friendly people.
The regulars that come here never watch their dogs and ive witnessed countless dog fights and little ones getting attacked and ganged up on. the owners just sit & watch
Great little run. Easy parking. Pretty view.
Great place to go to socialize your dog
Great for a short walk. Friendly people around
Love this park! Its big enough for my 50lb Collie lab mix to run around but small enough to contain her. The ground is sand and rock so theres no mud! Theres also a smaller park inside. Will be going again.
A place where dogs are able to play like dogs... cant beat that.
Clean, nice area, quiet dog friendly
There are separate off leash areas for small and large dogs.
I love this dog park! Lots of dogs after work, and attentive owners. The park itself is decent but it’s big enough for the dogs to get a solid run!
Run by volunteers and everyone does their part to keep this dog run clean
Beautiful place to run, walk or play soccer
Very calm, environmentally soothing and relaxing, great scenery
Nice place to walk, bike and enjoy the waterfront
Getting run down. Needs sponsorship. New gravel is badly needed. Alot of tripping spots
I walk my dog there ever day its safe and the people are friendly.
Ok location , clean , nice for dogs
Always came here, long and peaceful place to be.
A stretch of beauty side by side with the along aislamd Sound. Family oriented park
No idea where I use the bike path and its excellent
I do NOT use the dog park but the area is fantastic for everybody. I love walking there with my dog and family.
Good community of people. But people dont respect Lane traffic. Stay on the Right side
Best dog park in the Nassau county/ Queens vicinity. Plenty of room to run, to separate pens, one for small dogs, gravel base, plenty of benches, magnificent view of the Long Island Sound and the Throgs Neck Bridge, easy exit on off of the Cross Island Parkway Utopia Parkway exit
Beautiful view of the bay ducks seagulls and boats
I love seeing all the dogs playing!
Great spot, friendly dogs, friendly people, great experience
