Petco Grooming

Had a bad experience at the Petco Grooming at this location (7507 31st Ave East Elmhurt.) The groomers were professional but they were told that the General Manager decided that they would not be able to groom my dog at her scheduled appointment even after proper documentation was provided before the appointment.I mentioned that my dog had a heart murmur and was told I needed a vet note indicating it was safe for my dog to be groomed there. Not a problem - ended up reaching out to the vet and was able to confirm that the dog was okay via phone and was waiting for an email confirmation to provide to the groomers. However, while waiting, was then told that their policy stated they were unable to take the dog now. Not sure what changed in their policy between the times of being told that I needed a vets note then all of sudden told that it was policy that dogs with heart murmurs were not allowed at all because of liability. I ended up spending around 2 hours of my day that resulted in the grooming being denied/cancelled.I feel that this location has a lack of empathy for its customers for the time spent trying to provide documentation asap. I admit I was flustered at needing additional documents right when I got to the appointment and waited as patiently as I could but ultimately was denied there. I cant recommend Petco groomers at this location.

Very attentive and helpful staff. They are gentle and caring and put my nervous dog at ease. They also helped me with personalized service when I had difficulty with finding the right records for my rescue pup. We will definitely return.

I am disappointed with their grooming appointments. This is the second time they cancelled my dog’s appointment which I wanted to get done for an important event. They asked me to reschedule for a different day and didn’t even try to accommodate us. Very disappointing.

Have been using Petco grooming for a while now but this location takes the cake of inconsistency and incompetence. Wouldn’t take my dog after showing multiple forms of proof of rabies certification. Along with doing absolutely nothing to work with me being that every other Petco has taken the proof of vaccinations I have. Don’t waste your time coming here! Or any Petco in general for that matter!

I have been coming here since my dog has been a puppy, and she’s about to be 7 and have had good experiences here. However, starting January Mirian left who was our groomer and had been grooming my dog for a while and she was perfect. We were trying different groomers since she left but we were just not satisfied. Firstly we tried Melanie who was rude and charging for things I have never been charged for in the 6 years I have taken my dog. Seems like she hates her job to be honest. Than other groomers who we went too seem like they don’t know what they’re doing or how to cut dogs hair. They left my dog with her hair too long when I want her short, her ears crooked and she did not just look good. I was also very surprised how every time I go there’s different groomers and it’s not consistent. They also have been taking close to 3-4 hours when before it would only be 2 hours for a groom and a shower. Lastly, today I took my dog to the groomers with Mika and we told her to cut her atleast half her hair since it is hot. Looks like she barely cut any hair and her ears were super crooked. We went back and told her. She tried but still looked crooked where you can easily tell one ear is super long and the other is super short. We ask her to fix them again but she just seemed like she didn’t want to deal with it and offered us a refund so we took the refund and left unsatisfied. I don’t understand how these people work here where it looks like they are unprofessional. I will definitely not be returning here. If you want your dog to look cute and adorable , take them somewhere else just not here save yourself the visit.

I was extremely happy with the way everything turned out with my dog Maximus. I explained to the girl exactly what I needed done. And they did everything to the tee. I was so happy when I saw him they couldn’t have done any better. He looks absolutely fabulous. Thank you so much.

Groomer is great. She grooms my little dog just the way I ask and does a great job. Petco is a great place to get your dog groomed.

Marián was excellent. I love bringing back my Bernedoodle, Ozzy back to her for grooming, as she does an exceptional job and provides very professional and super friendly service, every time. This was my pets 1st grooming visit at Petco. No hassle with completing paperwork ( shots) and the explanation regarding what type of cut and the spa extras. When I picked up my dog she looked so cute! Cut was great.

The salon manager was very inviting and friendly and made me feel like my dog would be well taken care of and sure enough when I returned to pick him up he was very clean they did an amazing job and he barks alooooooot! Lol and still they were very patient with him which I appreciate!

Since my dog Enzo is anxious and overly attached to me its difficult for anyone else to handle him, and Catherine is 1 of the few who can. Shes very patient with him and he responds well to her. After his bath she goes over all the details and if need be advises on any issues he may be having. She also recommends products to address these issues he may have such as dandruff as of late. Catherine is the only other person besides myself to bathe Enzo and it will continue to stay this way. Ive recommended a couple of my friends to her and they were also very pleased. Thank you Catherine!

The grooming staff were excellent. They were able to calm our large puppy and do all that was promised. Highly recommend the team in East Elmhurst.

Pino is always happy after his grooming appointment. He loves the staff and feels comfortable with them. They love him a lot and always make him feel welcome.

I will only start by saying that I never In the past 4 years have I ever had any problem with any groomer working at this petco. I had recently booked an appointment for my dog this past weekend with a groomer named Melanie. First time booking with her and I figured it would be okay because all the groomers were so great that I never needed to pick a specific one. She not only didn’t take my dog until 1:40pm when my initial appointment was for 1pm but as well as after gives me a call claiming how she can not finish my dog because he’s tried to so called “bite her” and so on. I have never had a single issue with my dog in the past nor have I ever received a phone call from any groomer still working there or who used to work there claiming my dog was aggressive towards them. She proceeds to lie and say that the notes from previous groomers say other wise but wouldn’t that be strange that none of the groomers ever called me to complain before? Her problem was that they were backed up on appointments and she felt lazy and decided not to finish my dog because she was too backed up with other appointments. They did not charge me for my dog’s not even half done haircut. My problem is I do not want this terrible groomer ruining the chance of 4 years of my dog getting excellent service from this Petco because of her. I will be making a more formal complaint and I expect this groomer not work for any Petco.

I followed my groomer Ella here from another Petco location. My dog & I like her very much. Ella always gives us just what we ask for grooming on my Samoyed.

I made an appointment for my 5 month old golden doddle, a full service grooming. The appointment was for 4pm, I arrived 10 minutes early, the groomer told me it would take between 2 to 3 hours, she calls me 50 minutes later that she can’t do it the dog pee and poop on the table, a lot of anxiety. I picked her up and paid for a shampoo, $37. I then made an appointment with a private groomer, this person did a wonderful job, no anxiety no pee no poop!! I can send pictures of the grooming! Your staff is very inexperienced, what puppy sits there and lets a person cut their hair without issues!! This was a bad experience, and I had to pay too!!

Worst place!! Poor management. Very rude. If they treat an adult with such disgrace I cannot imagine what they do to peoples dogs.. I would never ever recommend this grooming facility!!
