Royal Pet Salon

Today was the second time that I came for an appointment only to find out that the store is closed. I am under the impression that the owner treats this like a hobby because this is ridiculous! Additionally, this is the only pet groomer on the island that can’t tell you upfront what you will be paying, they change the rates constantly for the same work and have no explanation for it. This would all be worth it if the cuts were actually top quality, but I typically only use them in emergency situations when all other reputable groomers are unavailable.Today I arrived for my noon appointment only to find the doors locked, a parking lot full of irate customers and the scheduler telling me on the phone that he can’t contact the owner.I would have been concerned for the owners well being if this wasn’t the first time this had happened. My fault for giving them a second chance but I hope this stops people from giving them a first chance.

We love Royal Pet Salon! Not only does Melissa put up with our 3 1/2 pound poodle of terror, but when I asked her if she could make her look like a schnauzer, thats exactly what she did. I drive an hour to get there, but after trying many local spots it is well worth it!!!! I was told that I had to drug my dog before they would groom her and one place charged me a handling fee and she never looked good when she left! So I love you guys❤️❤️

I have a Blue Merle Collie which does have a lot of hair. They did a decent job grooming but their price was outrageous. They could not give me a price before the service and I told them I wanted a brush out and the least possible that needed done because i wanted to keep the cost as minimal as possible. For the same service I usually pay $80 for, here it came out to $133 with tax...and it’s cash only. I’m very upset and feel like I was taken taken advantage of. I definitely will not be returning there!

Royal Pet Salon is absolutely the best! The front desk staff that greets you are always cheerful and efficient, the groomers are caring, careful and loving towards my beagle. They went above and beyond to make my beagle have a comfortable and happy experience at the salon. They went above and beyond to make me happy. I would never go or trust anyplace else with my Eddie! Thank you Royal Pet Salon, you truly deserve more than 5 stars!

I will never go back here again! I thought they were overpriced for a puppy. They didnt wash his face. They only took cash, so I paid the woman and she didnt give me my $3 change, she pocketed it! Its only 3 bucks but it wasnt her decision to take the money. WTH? I also didnt not get a receipt. I do not recommend this place at all!!!

Melissa seemed very knowledgeable and confident about her grooming business. She was kind to our sweet rescue dog Luke and he looked happy and handsome when all was done. I would have given five stars but her prices are higher than average and her cash only plus tax policy doesnt seem right.

This WAS a good shop but it is going down fast. I had an appointment for Thursday Oct. 11, 2018 for Malissa to bathe and groom my dog. My dog has been going there for 6 or 7 years before i adopted her after her previous owner passed away. I have been taking her there for 18 months with only one or two small issues every once in a while. I dropped her off at 10am and after a longer than usual length of time i got a call that the dog was ready. I picked her up but due to very tight time constraints i was not able to inspect her at the shop. When i had time to look her over i saw that she had been bathed but her face had not been washed. She had been clipped but her face and head had not been trimmed. Her nails had not been cliped. The hair on her tail was clipped uneven. I called there to get things corrected and was told Malissa was not in and I was ask if there was a problem. I said what the issues were and was told that none of these were true. I said that this was unacceptable and was told too bad. I am now looking for a new groomer. Sorry Malissa but Sidekick is done there. Your loss.

This is by far the best grooming my maltese has ever had. She is a special needs dog who is 15 years old, with many health issues. Tiffany loves to go there and Melissa takes great care, even using a memory foam orthopedic cushion to bathe and groom her. I would absolutely recommend taking your pooch there for a spa like experience.

They go above and beyond at Royal Pet Salon. They take care of my dog like he was their own. Always able to squeeze in my dog for grooming.They do amazing work but most importantly they are also great people!

My wife and I love Royal, they are very talented and loving when it comes to grooming, they are the best we have been to, I should know because one of my pets were always difficult when it came to grooming but since Ive been going here I havent had any problems both my pets get excited to go and they always come out happy and looking good. Honestly hands-down this place is the most caring and talented locally.

Never again! I left my dog for a bath at 1pm on New Years Eve and an hour later I received a call that someone found him roaming Larkfield Road! I called the salon and the man who I left my dog with was totally oblivious and said he would need to call me back. I went to the salon and the back door was unlocked and nobody was there. Thank god my dog didn’t get hit by a car or taken by the wrong person. STAY AWAY!!!

Horrified to hear of my friend’s experience here with her Mini Bernadoodle… Dog was shaved, quote for grooming was significantly less than what was charged AND dogs would not be released until my friend paid them in cash. I was hoping to use them in the future for my Shepherd, but will never consider them now.

My coton de Tulear has been “getting his groom on” at Royal Pet Salon since I moved to Northport in 2014. I moved last year and the drive is a little longer than I’d like, but Melissa, Peter and their staff are worth it. My Dino is always well taken care of and always looks great. Melissa treats the dogs like her own and it shows. Don’t waste your time looking for a groomer, just go to Royal Pet Salon!

Absolutely love Melissa and Peter!!! First place I had found that not only are warm and friendly but that my puppy likes going too. Great selection of dog clothes too!!!

Such a let down:1. The girl at the front desk wouldnt allow me to speak to the groomer to talk about how I wanted my dog cut2. They never called me when he finished (5 hours later...)3. I go to pick him up- and obviously hes not groomed the way I wanted him to be groomed since I couldnt speak directly to the groomer4. Cash only yet they charge tax... thats not sketchy5. Overly priced and undelivered

Worst experience ever ! Unprofessional, very rude , be prepared to wait forever in “hopes” they complete when they were supposed to do. I would NEVER come back here again. they are not trained or have the skills to handle dogs properly . Totally dissatisfied

I really like this place, my pet got groomed there and he looks really good, I was also able to pick up a Yankees jersey for him so that was cool. Highly recommend

They did an amazing job on my Golden Doodle.

They were wonderful!! They did a great job grooming my 1 year old Aussie! She doesn’t let anyone touch her with a brush or scissors but they got the job done! Petsmart failed to groom her and still wanted to charge me the same amount as if they did! Definitely recommend royal pet salon! Paul is professional and great with pets very nice people! Def will go back!

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!! Be very careful with this salon. 1. What kind of business that requires the cash and NEVER giving you a cash receipt? 2. They take for grooming several dogs at ones, and every half hour come new customers. As a result, your poor dog will sit in the company of several others in cages 4-5 hours! So at the beginning of our business with this salon, we got an infection, and stopped going. But another salon was closed, and we returned. A few months was tolerable, except for the fact that every time you have to take the scissors and correcting deficiencies, except the last one. At May 28, the groomer lost our new SERESTO collar. Can you imagine a salon in which it is impossible to find a collar that is removed before grooming - this is the Royal Pet Salon. For three days they told as were looking for… Today we went to the salon , and received a full portion of insults. The owner just screamed at us. At our request to watch the recording from the cameras, we received a new dose of insults. And what will you do, will you sue? This is just a collar. And yes, I will sue you.

Great people, real dog lovers. Alittle pricey.

My dog groomer retired so I had to find a new place. I chose Royal Pet Salon and am so glad I did. The owner is a true pet lover. Very friendly place and they did a great job with my 16 year old Westi. Great experience.
