Underbridge Dog Run

It’s a fun local dog run with separations between large and smaller dogs. I’ve had good experiences here but can benefit from better maintenance and space.

Stopped by today 7/25 and closed due to construction.Hidden gem of a dog run. Fenced park with lots of flat open space . Our dog loves running here but it can get muddy post rain since most of the ground is lightly grassed. Parking is convenient and it’s easy to get to via highway from Manhattan.

This dog run is located at 64th Road and Grand Central Parkway in Forest Hills, near to a pedestrian bridge over the Grand Central Parkway that connects to Flushing Meadows Corona Park. This is the area of the park near the White Meadow Lake.Their are two parts of the dog run. One is for smaller dogs and one for larger. dogs. The part for small dogs is small itself, but seems adequate. Its a grassy area that gets very muddy when it rains.A new and higher fence between the part for smaller dogs and larger ones was installed several years ago.

Great park, lots of space, some of the dogs are untrained or not neutered/spayed but that’s a risk you take going to a public park, most dogs are very friendly though and play nice.

I’m visiting family here and decided to check out this park based on the reviews. I won’t be returning again.Good open space, but near useless because of aggressive/untrained dogs in both sections.Regulars and dog walkers with groups will let their dogs bark incessantly and lunge at other dogs at the fence and gate so you can’t even come inside. I slipped into the empty smaller section, but the barking never stops, so be prepared for a headache. It was a short visit.One dog kept trying to squeeze under the fence to get at my dog and never ceased barking and following us along the fence, the whole time right even to leaving.Also, infested with fleas. Topical medications are not sufficient for a visit to this dog park. Didn’t learn this until afterwards when I came back to the house and talked to family.No water source but has a trash can. Has potential, but really disappointing. Plus side is that the gate entryways are very secure.

Not the cleanest dog park but closest locally. At least there’s a separate small dog area

It gets the job done when your dogs need somewhere to run around but there’s no water fountains for dogs and there’s trash here and there.

Not a big place but its nice that it has separate area for untrained dogs, as well as a wire you can hang a teddy bear on so your rednose pitbull can destroy it. If the city took care of the park better Id give it 5 stars.

Great place for dogs to get their daily exercise. If you have friendly dogs, they can enjoy anytime of day. If your dog is not so friendly, try coming when its vacant. All dogs should get their exercise.

Our dogs deserve better. This place turns into a mud slide at any sign of humidity. Theres no shade during the hot summer days, no drinking fountain. There are tons of rats go in and out through the fence of adjacent property, which is a direct threat to our dogs health from a rat poison. We could do better than that.

This park is primarily a caged in area, some grass, lots of dirt, and the area is not maintained like a top dog park. What makes it great are the people who go, and the dogs that come with them. Top notch crowd!

I love the dog run but there should be park patrol. This lady grabbed a dogs collar and kicked him. Beware of this lady

Its a bit out of the way but its definitely a great park, the renovations really let the owners feel secure with their furry children

Good place to come to have some fun off leash with your pet running around and play awesome spot to relax and not worry

It was our first time coming to this dog park this afternoon because we happened to be in the neighborhood. There were two dogs playing so I took my 36 pounds puppy in. I immediately noticed that the ground was uneven. There are weeds everywhere. Absolutely no maintenance. My puppy started chasing with the other dogs in a normal dog manner. Within 5 minutes inside the park, he fell and his left front leg could not move. Called my vet and she said if he did not look better after a little while, we should go to the ER. My husband carried him outside the park. After holding him for 10 minutes, we put him on the side walk with even ground. Fortunately, he slowly put his left foot down and started walking. Will still bring him to the vet tomorrow just to be on the safe side.

Nice large area for doggies to run around and play with other dogs. This dog run is divided into 2 sections - a smaller area for small dogs and a larger area for bigger dogs.The dogs and people who come here are friendly!Theres no water fountain so please make sure you bring water for your pup!

Its a nice place to take your dog to run around with others. The only issue I found was that there were a few aggressive dogs during the weekends that I took my labrador there. There is a section for aggressive dogs, but some owners just say they are playful when its not. There is a pot by the entrance so you could put water for your dog, and trashcans for your dogs poop along with benches so you can sit.

Great place to let pups of all sizes socialize and play their hearts out

Its alright. Its a dog park. Thats about it. The dog park by my old place had a hose to easily refill water bowls. This one doesnt supply that so its kind of frustrating when you forget to bring your own water and your pup is just thirsty from playing/running.

No separation for large dogs and small dogs. There are always large retrievers and pit bulls and this is not safe for toys or terriers. This is a large enough area so why don’t they divide it?

Its a far walk from our place so we dont come too often. But its a nice area. The ground is all mud though which gets our white dog very dirty and makes his paws hard to clean.

I see lots of owners and dogs and they share love of their pets. Dogs can run off leash. Just make sure yours has social skills as the space means they need to get along.

Our family visited this dog run this winter. Everyone in the park was super friendly and all of the dogs seemed to be having a blast and were very well behaved. If you live near the area, I would recommend visiting when you get the chance.

A nice park for dogs. Mostly friendly dogs but always need to be careful. It is mostly dirt so you and your dog can certainly get dirty. Also need to be careful with the gate system. It can also get very buggy!

Great open space for your pup. Its kept amazingly clean by local volunteers. There are two sections so no concerns about having small dogs with big dog or anything like that.

Big space for dogs to frolic. All owners Ive met have been super friendly. The park is well maintained. Just be careful by the benches - mosquitoes do not discriminate!

Up and coming dog park that gets better with every year! Two nice open areas (one is separate about 1/5 of the size). Bowls and seating areas. The people that come are very friendly too!

The park is all overgrown. I have two big dogs and I didn’t even get into the entrance and was told I couldn’t come in because one of the owners dogs wouldn’t get along with my dog I didn’t even get into the park.

Love it there I take all my pups there and its clean. Everyone cleans up and there is a dog groomer right in front .... Wash the paws for $10 after so they can go home clean. :-)

Nice big dog run with plenty of seating for us was pretty shady just bring your own water I found out the hard way that there is no fountain

Easy approch, safe community, comparative easy to find street parking, big enough area for ur beloved pet to play & excercise, clean benches for urself to sit and chat with other similarly interested persons who by the way always there.

Nice, shaded and ample space for dogs to run, play and socialize. Only drawback is lack of water fountain. Bring your own bottle.

Great dog park, the dogs and owners are friendly . Has 2 sections one bigger than the other. Parking is easy to find

This place is great to walk your dog or watch and pet other dogs, also the sunrise across the water is perfect.

My doggies love the freedom of being able to run around in a big space. They have fun and interact with other dogs!

Nice size for the pooches to run around. Can be a bit muddy after rain or snow. It has two gated areas; one is a much larger area than the other.

It is a great space for dogs and their family members. 😉

Love that theres 2 sections in case some dogs arent too friendly or are too excited. Benches for humans are also a big plus

Dogs are one of the creation of God some Good and some bad like human I love dog more than human because you look on those eyes you see like trust in a wild animal in human eyes you see hate I love dogs.

I came here with my Dottie and she had such a fabulous time! My only complaint is that it was pretty muddy, but overall, if my dog had a great time, then it’s okay with me.

Nice renovation. Plenty of running space. No water source unfortunately. A separate section for small dogs.

If you feel like your dog isnt dirty enough bring them down to this park plenty of mud to get into.

I think it is better than Manhattan dog parks. At least my dog does not get sick, yet...

Has two dog runs in 1. Great for dogs who need to socialize but cant jump right in without some energy release.

Such a cute spot for the dogs to run and play. There are to areas 1 huge open space so they can run around and 1 smaller space to do the same.

This space comparatively big and dogs can run with pleasure, plus it has 2 separate areas for different size dogs I guess. We like to walk there to look at these lovely animals.

Small dog and big dog areas seperate...needs some tlc but good enough for dogs to run and socialize with one another...never to crowded

It was a peaceful Serenity feeling watching the animals animals very smart whether you know it or not it was not in a cluster of a crowd

The park is good but to be honest they took a lot of time trying to remodel it and look so simple for the time they take

It is a good place to enjoy an afternoon, avoid after rain and please someone replace the locks on the gates!

In my opinion planting grass in the park will be excellent. Actually is mostly dirt.

Its a little run down, huge holes all over, ( dogs dig) but they are never filled in making for a turned/sprained ankle.

The bridge takes you to Flushing Meadow; local dogs play nice.

No water! No one picks up after there dog. Poop EVERYWHERE! 2 Huskies very aggressive!

My dog loves to run here. Wish they had some obstacles.

Could be better (more: well maintained, space utilized further, etc.). Still have to give it 4 stars simply because: it works!And its great to have places like this. To be fair, theres only so much space for that dog park, so the alternative of just not having it there is much worse.Support our parks!

Clean and a good amount of space for the dogs to run and play, even though my potato of a dog does neither of those things. My dog had a great time meeting the other dogs and staring at the other owners, because shes a creep.

Kind of a nice place well its the first dog run park Ive been too, the set up is cool, plenty of parking in the street and I like how its divided for big and small dogs. No other small dogs were here when I came so my Lola was kinda lonely. She got to smell the bigger digs through the fence.

Did have tons of fun here. Getting better all the time.

Was empty on a Sat morning, looked clean and right across from Flushing Meadows.

Its just a fenced in area under a bridge.Couldnt understand the hype about it.

Its pretty nice. Lots of space in the big pen. Smaller pen is a bit too small imo. Be careful of broken glass, I picked up a couple pieces last visit. Ppl probably go in after dark to drink, it looked like most of it had been cleaned up by the park services but there were still a couple pieces around the benches.
