The volunteers and Staff are all incredibly kind and helpful, I recently adopted two kittens and they are the SWEETEST babies I’ve ever met. I can’t take golden paw enough!!

My son had wanted a cat and we found Clayton at their Petsmart location. My son was stopping by multiple times a week and the staff were so nice. Pat is the best and walked us through a quick adoption process and asked all the important questions to make sure Clayton would be a good fit. And she lent me her pet carrier, thanks Pat. Great organization and they’re amazing with how they treat the cats. My son is super happy with his new BFF.

We found Golden Paw Society at Pet Smart in Commack and learned about the Shelter in Huntington. We went to the Shelter to meet some more little bundles and were very impressed with how well the cats are cared for. The volunteers were very kind and caring. They were very patient and helped us pick out the perfect new addition to our family, Penny. She brought so much love into our home and we are grateful for all the volunteers at Golden Paw.

Wonderful experience with Golden Paw. We adopted our first two cats through Proud PR rescue (also amazing) who are affiliated with GPS. I went to donate some food and fell madly in love with this gorgeous girl. Everyone I spoke to at the rescue really cares about the cats and wants to find the best match for them - our cat had a lot of interest from people looking for just one cat and the rescue was waiting for a multi cat home )I can see why she loves her brothers!) I appreciate how it’s been a few weeks and Lucy still IMMEDIATELY writes me back when I text her with a question. This rescue is amazing. They love the cat that are there and they know them.

After our family cat died unexpectedly I filed an adoption application for one of their cats, and got contacted by a volunteer who asked questions about our household and was very attentive in recommending a variety of cats they had available that suited our dynamic. Went to visit the Huntington location with the volunteer and all the kitties and cats were so amazing, I could see that they’re so well taken care of! In the end we adopted a cat that was recommended by the volunteer. Our girl was not a popular choice at the rescue because she didn’t seem friendly, but as soon as we took her home she bloomed and became the most wonderful, loving, cuddly cat ever. We love our Heidi and thank volunteer Lucy and Golden Paw Society for doing this work ❤️

Recently adopted an adult cat, Mia, from the Golden Paw adoption center at PetSmart! The process to adopt was so simple. We met the cat, left an application with the volunteer, and heard back from Pat a few hours later. The volunteer who helped us when we went to pick Mia up was so kind and excited to see such a sweet girl find a forever home. I was appreciative of GPS for providing us with her vax record—that’ll be helpful when we establish her at the vet! I’m glad to say Mia is already so comfortable here. My partner and I are so happy to provide her the love and care that she deserves! Thanks GPS for uniting us with our precious princess!

The staff was very kind and all the cats seem well taken cared for. I adopted an adorable cat the same day and continued communicating with Lucy days after, who was very responsive! I love my kitty and she is doing great!!

I went to this place with my kids to check out the cats they have. I guess we didnt know what to expect but they basically had cats roaming around the house. The place smelled bad as well but thats probably expected. We were looking for kittens. When we visited in late December there were only 2. The two women that worked there were nice.

The Shabby Tabby is a little slice of heaven. A rescue retreat for cats from the Golden Paw Society while they wait for their forever homes. You can go and get your feline fix playing, petting, whatever works. Grab a coffee or tea and enjoy.

It is cat heaven! If you are looking to adopt, this is the place to go! The cats have the option of staying in the cat condo or roaming the entire house. The hardest part is just choosing one fur baby to take home. The cat I adopted adjusted to his new surroundings in a few days.

Everyone was so nice, so helpful, no pressure, was easy to see cats in both huntungton and petsmart. Many great cats hard to choose - Lucy was amazing and had suggestions for me based on what I was looking for and I couldnt be happier

Our son has been obsessed with adopting a cat and was curious about the process. For the past couple months we’ve visited Golden Paws located in PetSmart to see the cats available for adoption. The volunteers have been so sweet and enthusiastic about each cat seeking a new home, and have been so open about kids visiting with the cats.This past weekend PetSmart was hosting an adoption event and one of the cats decided that he was going home with our son lol. Pat and the adoption volunteers were wonderful and so easy to work with. Happy cat, happy kiddo and happy family. That you Golden Paws for everything you do!

Very friendly helpful and accommodating. They try their best to find you the cat of your dreams.They found Ziggy for me a few weeks ago and hes pretty much just who I was looking for.

I have the honor of volunteering for this amazing organization. My contributions are very small in comparison to the incredibly wonderful and compassionate people who run it. The cats are always put first and are treated with care, kindness, and much love. It is very heartwarming to witness their journey from shelter rescue to transition at our center in Huntington to adoption by wonderful people. For me, knowing how much joy these cats and kittens bring to their adoptive families is the best and most touching aspect. I cant recommend GPS enough if you are looking for a cat that is waiting for your love and devotion. You wont be disappointed and that love will be returned to you tenfold!

This shelter offers a wide variety of cats but beware that communication lacks heavily with this organization. Try not to get your hopes up because theres a possibility that the cat that you want has already been promised to another applicant, but due to the level of disorganization you may have wasted your time bonding with cats that have been promised to others. Overall, this shelter offers a nice variety of cats, but just be mindful.

The animals are all healthy and happy. They are doing something really important here.

I came out to GPS from the City & it was totally worth the trip! The volunteers are wonderful, the care the cats receive is the best, and the center itself is comfortable for both you & the cats! Id recommend Golden Paw Society to ANYONE who is looking for a new addition to their home (or office ).

I am a volunteer with Golden Paw Society. I have seen first hand the tremendous care they extend towards the furries under their care. They go out of their way to make sure every cat has the perfect diet to ensure no stomach upset. Volunteers are scheduled through out each day to nurture every cat with love! GPS finds the most loving homes for them too! I am proud to be a part of this compassionate organization!

Because of Golden Paw Society, there IS a place like home for shelter cats on Long Island – our main Adoption Center at 260 Broadway in Huntington Station. Here we have all the comforts and pleasures of HOME (complete with just over 100 volunteers, working weekly shifts, who care for and love the cats all day long into the night 365 days a year!) until they are adopted into their forever homes!! As they are adopted, we are able to then rescue more shelter cats! For those not chosen for adoption, our home is their forever home and they live out their lives with us.

I adopted my little Lukie boy from GPS.Their cause is beautiful, their volunteers are exceptional, and they truly are a wonderful organization. The free roaming adoption center and individual attention every cat receives is important for a cat to socialize and easily adapt to a loving family. if you adopt from any agency, make sure GPS is on your list.

I volunteer for Golden Paw Society and couldn’t be more proud to do so. The founder is unbelievably compassionate and passionate about animal rescue. The main facility is such a haven for cats and let’s them decompress from being in the kill shelters. They are all loved and taken care of and I absolutely love this rescue.

My 11 year old daughter and I visited the Shabby Tabby Cat Cafe in Huntington this past weekend. We went with the intent of adopting at kitten/cat. My daughter’s cat died from kidney failure last year and she was heartbroken. We wanted to bring a new kitty into our home. My daughter found a kitten named Rudy that she fell in love with. I filled out the adoption paperwork and was asked if I would be willing to adopt Rudy’s sibling. My daughter was asked to name Rudy’s sibling. At no time were we told that other people were looking to adopt this pair and not to get our hopes up. We were told we would be contacted within 24-48 hours with a decision. My daughter was so excited. 24 hours passed and I didn’t hear from them. My daughter kept asking so I called this morning and left a message. They called me back tonight to inform me that the cats were adopted out to another candidate. When I expressed how disappointed I was and explained what happened, the person I spoke to was not sympathetic. I told her I would not be going back there or dealing with her rescue and she seemed unconcerned. For an animal rescue operation I feel this situation was handled poorly. I will find another rescue to adopt from.

My experience with this organization was very disappointing. I filled out an application for a specific cat and received a phone call, voicemail, and text by Eileen about the individual cat within a few hours. I spoke to a volunteer named Amanda and we set an appointment to meet the cat the next day. After driving almost an hour to see the cat I was told he was already adopted. While I waited about 5 minutes to speak to Amanda, who was in the office at their main location in Huntington, she would not come out to talk to me. Again, I am extremely disappointed from this experience and will not be associating myself with Golden Paw again. I have adopted in the past from Posh Pets having the opposite encounter. The volunteers at Posh Pets were very accommodating, organized, friendly, and truthful.

Golden Paw Society has a great process to fully screen potential adopters with the complete well being of the cats at the forefront. Cats find loving homes where they are well cared for and loved and adopters are completely thankful for the completeness of the process that provides a loving caring animal that otherwise might never have found a home.

Golden Paw is really the only place to go if youre looking to adopt a cat! They are the most pro-active cat rescue on Long Island. Most of their cats are rescued from over crowded municipal shelters and they never discriminate against a cats age or health. Eileen and Amanda are a dream team!!

Great place to view & interact between cats. Either the cafe(s) or shelter are good places. Knowledgeable staff can tell you about each cats personality, & who might make a good fit for your particular home situation

I am a real estate agent and found abandoned kittens in a foreclosure home. I called Eileen who promptly came and took 6 kittens. The shelters told me they would’ve put down these kittens. She showed up in an hour and rescued them! They are currently being nursed back to health! Amazing people!!!!!

If I could give this place no stars I definitely would. My girlfriend and I wanted to adopt a kitten and went to multiple locations associated with Golden paw society. I’ll admit our first application wasn’t filled to its best ability because I was unaware of what my girlfriend had written down and we left out that we lived together and were dating because we didn’t want to be treated differently for being gay. When I got the call from the center (the same night we went) to confirm the adoption what I said didn’t match up to what my girlfriend had written. We filled another application together and we waited a good amount of time (3-4 days) to hear nothing. I emailed and was apologized to for the wait but was never told I wasn’t accepted or anything else! We went again today to just be told that they weren’t “comfortable” enough to let us adopt the kitten because of the miscommunication, instead of ignoring us they should’ve let us know so we could’ve invested our time wisely.

I really am having issues with this group. Not sure how they even operate a group when they lie and rather see a cat stay in a cage. I spoke with Tammy one night said out of state wouldnt be an issue, then 2 days later it is. Then to say the cat needed spayed and had to get done at a particular vet. Which I found that to be reasonable just to find out shes already listed as being spayed.. From what I can tell this group rescues cats that have extra problems that wouldve mostly ended up being put down. Knowingly to lie and preventing a forever home for the cat is horrible. Thats like stealing donated food/money to feed your own personal cats. PETCO should not allow this facility to operate in their stores.

The volunteers at GPS are dedicated and loving men and women. They take time from their busy routines to watch over and LOVE !! each and every little kitten/cat in their care. It is a pleasure to be associated with GPS

One of the best organizations around. The people who volunteer there are some of the sweetest, most kindhearted, sacrificing people I have ever met. Adopt from here ASAP.....those kittens and cats deserve so very much.

An Excellent Cat Shelter that takes Car of the Animals Regardless of Condition. No Kill Policy and they work with other Shelters to Find Homes for all their Animals.

I completed the application and provided all information and references. I missed one call from a representative returned the call immediately. Left 2 messages over the weekend. No response. Finally sent a text. Received friendly and positive responses and a promise of a phone call back. And then nothing! I

We just got our little guy from here and we are over the moon happy with how smoothly our adoption went. They have so many beautiful babies definitely go and check them out!!!!

So thankful for a rescue center like Golden Paw Society! I am continuously amazed at how many cats are given second chances and how many are adopted every month!

Have been with GPS since they started years ago. They are a caring and compassionate group of people who always put a cats well being above all else.
