Dogtopia of New Rochelle

This was my first time at Dogtopia. I wanted my dog Nelson to go to daycare so he can socialize more, especially since we work long hours and we hate having him be alone all day. During his trial the staff was so nice and welcoming. They made sure to give me a tour around every room in the facility and explained everything and the daily doggy schedule. After his trial they even let him stay the day. I was put even more at ease because they have cameras where I can watch to make sure my dog wasnt being crazy lol. I highly recommend this facility and Im so glad we found a place for my dog to get some energy out!

I have been bringing my dog here since he was 6 months old. He was grown and developed into a social butterfly. This place loves my dog as if he is one of their own. I highly recommend especially if you have a puppy that is giving you a lot of issues. Dogs learn from one another. The first day I picked up my dog, he was a completely different dog & for the better! I use them for boarding, spa services & daycare.

Our puppy has been going to Dogtopia since he was 4 months and LOVES playing with the other dogs. Clean, attentive and accessible!

I was looking for a way to socialize my dog and help him with his anxiety around other dogs and people. The Meet and Greet was really great - they walked him around the room and helped him get comfortable with the other pups. He came home happy and loved it. Unfortunately the regular daycare service didnt hold up. Our very next visit I put him in daycare for a full day. I didnt see him on any of the webcams and by lunchtime I was worried so I called to ask if he was okay, and they just said hes feeling timid and staying underneath the table. I was very worried because I didnt see the handlers make any attempts to make him feel comfortable or socialize with the other dogs like they had on my first day. When I picked him up, he STUNK, like he smelled like a person who hadnt washed their clothes or showered in weeks, and he was absolutely filthy. His hair was sticky and dry, as if he was laying in urine all day and his paws were black with dirt. He was very sad, not at all like he was the first day. We gave him a bath right away and the water was grey from the filth on him from that one day. I couldnt believe they would send him home like that. My dog is shy, but he doesnt deserve to be neglected all day. They didnt do anything to take care of him or socialize him like they claimed. I wont be bringing my dog back here.

This place deserves zero stars. They charged my card an unapproved amount of $1,500! This place is a scam charging for doggycare and boarding. Ever dog owners knows when you pay for boarding dog care is apart of the boarding. Dogtopia categorizes them separately. I exclusively wanted boarding but was being told when I picked up my dogs that I had to pay for both doggycare and boarding. Their price is misleading and not in alignment with the industry. And to make matters worse my dogs weren’t even taking outside during their eight day stay! I know this because I was watching the camera every chance I could. Nor were they given a bath they smelled horrible when I picked them up. They took forever to find their sweaters that I dropped them off with and lost the paperwork I filled out request a spa service before pick up. Don’t bring your pet here! You are better off using Rover or a neighbor.

I recently had an extremely alarming experience with my pug puppy at dogtopia. He came home after a day of daycare and began violently vomiting. Eventually throwing up pieces of blanket. I rushed him to the vet where he continued to throw up. He had ingested shredded blanket pieces. When I called dogtopia I spoke to the manager Sara. Her response was “well he needs to be able to be in the room and not eat blanket”. She never apologized or asked how my puppy was. Thank goodness my puppy was ok, 1000 dollars later. But he could have died had this caused a blockage. Dogs eat things, this is why many of us don’t leave our pups unattended. I am very concerned that something worse could happen to another dog while in their care.

Adopted a stray who didnt really know how to be a dog and felt he could benefit from daycare. My intention was to look for a safe place where he could make friends and also be boarded.The behavioral interview really seemed to focus on whether he could join the pack safely and would the pack be accepting of him. I appreciated this, as I felt the dogs were truly a priority. Feedback from the interview was spot on and honest.The hours are very accommodating. The staff all seem to care about the dogs and are polite. Theyd educate you on Dogtopias packages but Ive never felt pressured. Despite it being busy, they do an excellent job keeping it clean. Your dog will most likely come home with the locker room smells, but that should be expected as theyll be playing alot.Justin (owner) is awesome. He seems highly involved and his staff well trained. Sometimes daycare does get rowdy but the staff does a good job keeping it calm. Webcam access is also available, except nap and closed hours.

I regularly board my sociable 5 year old dog, but was looking for a place closer to home and tried Dogtopia. I’d give this place zero stars if it was possible. On the second of two mandatory day care sessions prior to a booked boarding stay, I saw an employee repeatedly kennel my dog, aggressively shoving additional kennel bottom pieces on each side and in front of her kennel to block her off completely, then letting her out 5-10 minutes later before repeating the locking up process again and again. This was all because she was barking (at the door) and didn’t stop barking when he commanded her to do so.My dog struggled when he put the choke leash on her and even escaped once. I called the front desk and asked them to intervene but was told the front desk is not allowed to communicate with the dog care areas, as it is distracting. Of course I went and picked her up immediately. After telling the reception desk staff what happened, I was told the worker who kept kenneling my dog had been spoken to in the past for the same behavior. I followed up with talking to the manager, who very much didn’t seem to care, and was told the district manager would call, which never happened. Just a warning, guys, this place is NOT a reliably safe place to leave your dog! I’m both disappointed by the actions of their employee and angry at their total lack of concern over the issue.

No reason to look further. This is the place for your four-legged children. The people are great, the facilities are great, and they give them treats! People are easy to get along with and they go out of their way to accommodate pets and parents. I love that they have a camera and you can look in and see what is going on. You will not beat their prices, the people and the people that brings their dogs their!

I see other reviews that speak of the manager Justin’s conduct. Sadly, I agree. I would not recommend this location. My dog came here for a simple meet and greet, I decided to let him remain for a few hours. Upon pick up my dog smelled like he bathed in urine which is not how I dropped him off. I said to the receptionist said she was not sure. Once home, I saw additional red marks which looks like it was bleeding. I immediately called and I was told I would get a call back from the manager. I received a call the following day and connected the following day. Justin was dismissive and kept saying “your dogs breed the type of play might have caused the marks.” I reiterated the scratches were a concern and I continued to be dismissed where Justin said “I don’t know what you want me to tell you? I’m not here to lie to you.” Unprofessional, don’t bring your dog here.

I feel very comfortable leaving my dog at Dogtopia while I work. She is happy when I pick her up and looks happy when I observe her on camera. I love that she gets lots of exercise.

My dog Basil absolutely loves coming here & can’t wait to get out of the car when we pull into the parking lot. She’s very shy & I can see her confidence building since coming here weekly. Staff is very friendly and I am confident my pup is in good hands. Also did some in home training with Tracey and she was extremely helpful, professional and polite. I highly recommend

Were always nervous to relinquish the care of our dogs to people we dont know. We were met by 2 young women that could not have been more warm and caring and we were put immediately at ease. Our 2 vizslas were well looked after, the staff catered to our food schedule and the live app camera allowed us to check in at all times to assure us they were having fun. A very successful day of play for our dogs!

The hospitality, the cleanliness, the above and beyond attitude here is impeccable. They really do all love the dogs, are hands on, and are attentive are extremely accommodating. I have recommended and highly recommend dogtopia esp with the new management team. Justin is amazing! The entire staff is Phenomenal!!! Sebastian and I appreciate all you do for us! I come from 19 years NYC hospitality background with that being said I am not easily impressed. HERE I am not only impressed but blown away. I do not ever need to worry about Sebastian while he is here. It is a huge stress reliever for me. Thank you again. We love you all :).

With the torrential rains in NY this Saturday, i figured a half day at Dogtopia would be great to release the energy of a 1 1/2 year old 53 lb goldendoodle rescue. When we arrived approached - Finn stopped in his tracks and tried not to enter - which is weird - he had been in just a week before and never resists going into places. Got him in and one of the people at the front called out Finn and he ran to her and nuzzled with her but as she passed the lease back to another attendant - he pulled back and tried to get back to me - really never done before - they eventually when in. I used the gym camera throughout the afternoon to see if anything was off and he seemed to be wrong and saw him really enjoying the interaction with other dogs and some rough play. toward the end of the day he and 2 other dogs seemed to really act up ( rough play) and I saw the attendant pull Finn out of the scrum and put him in a cage to control the energy and situation - i though it interesting only he was put in but you have to depend on the referees in games! anyway- 15 minutes later he is still caged so i came over and pulled him out so as not to lose the great play time. I think I will not be bringing Finn back - even though he was rescued he was crate trained and we use it also for controlling him but i think more than 10 minutes is not good for him. FYI - a close neighbor who Finn has play dates with no longer uses this location because they felt their dog also was excessively crated based on what they saw on camera.

The staff is great, and they have different themes from time to time. It makes it fun to bring your dog there. They also provide live video link to watch your dog from your phone.

I love this place!! I take my pup Theo here Monday-Friday and he absolutely loves it. They take such good care of him and I watch him regularly playing form the live webcams! The owners and the managers are the nicest people ever. The employees are always loving on Theo and making him feel comfy that he just loves going back everyday. I am so happy this place opened because I have such peace of mind leaving Theo here everyday. I recommend them to everyone I meet who has a dog. :)

My dog has boarded and attended the daycare at Dogtopia several times and we have always been happy with the care and service provided. This past week they went above and beyond to take care of my baby. While at Dogtopia, my rambunctious and energetic puppy got a little cut on his paw. Nothing serious, but even though it was a small cut, it would continue bleed because he wouldnt leave it alone. They cleaned it and wrapped it and called us while we were on vacation to let us know what had happened. When he kept running around and removing the bandaging, they had him chill with the groomer in hopes of controlling him. The entire day we were getting update text messages and receiving pictures of him.Ultimately, Paul, the owner contacted us and asked if he could take him home to stay overnight and he could keep an eye on him. We, of course, said that was fine and we picked him up the following day from his home. Wyatt was fine, happy to see us, his tiny cut was clean and had stopped bleeding, and he was so happy to be given such personal attention by such an amazing couple. Words cannot express how thankful and how grateful we are for them. Its not just a business, each person at Dogtopia - from the owners to the staff - genuinely care about the dogs. For that, I am grateful and comforted that he will always be well cared for, especially when we go away. Thank you!

Was at the front desk for over 20 minutes and the guy at the desk didn’t once acknowledge me or greet me or anything . Justin didn’t even look my way and continued to stare at his computer . The girl who walked was very nice and asked if I need help .

As someone who almost never writes a review (good or bad), I am compelled to express our TOTAL satisfaction with Dogtopia in New Rochelle, NY. Our dog Savanna, spent 1 day in day care, followed by a one night boarding and a spa service. Everything about this place is outstanding. The facility is spotless, the people are caring and well trained in pet care. We do not often board our dog, so we asked many questions. The staff was friendly and extremely knowledgeable and answered our questions very satisfactorily . We picked up Savanna this morning and she was happy and alert; almost reluctant to leave. We highly recommend Dogtopia and plan on using the services on our next trip to New York. This is a very well run place and its nice to see people that enjoy what they are doing and treat each pet as if were their own.

Very caring staff. They treat each dog as their own child and are genuinely concerned for their well-being. They want each dog to enjoy themselves while at Dogtopia. Weve used Dogtopias boarding and grooming services, and we will keep coming back! Highly recommend.

I’m a new dog mom of a very anxious rescue pup who is terrified of not being home with me. We started coming here a few weeks ago for day camp to train into boarding for when I travel. My dog has adapted well and loves the routine that this place provides. He did very well during his 1st boarding night. I highly recommend Dogtopia of New Rochelle!

Nice staff. Our groomer, Monica did a amazing job and was friendly and inviting. For our first time, definitely left us with the impression that we need to go back. Our dog looked amazing.

My puppy Blue has been a member of the Dogtopia NR family since he was 4 months old. They are the best in the business. This team is a group of professionals dog lovers that make you and your pet feel like family... Chris, Monica, DAnn and Cindy are my favorites.... Try them, you will never regret it!!!! And Paul, the owner of the kennel is a man of compassion, love and care for all the dogs in his facility...

We have boarded our 4 year old mini goldendoodle (20 lbs) at Dogtopia of New Rochelle several times for week-long stays. I like that there are separate rooms for different sized dogs so our little dog doesnt have to be scared of larger dogs wrestling nearby or trying to physically engage with her; I also appreciate that there is always a person in the room with the dogs to keep an eye on things and provide company and comfort (our dog prefers people to other dogs); and I especially appreciate the doggie webcams, so I can look in on our dog every day and be reassured that she is doing well. Dogtopia also provides grooming services, so we have her bathed on the last day before she comes home, which has worked out well-- she comes home clean and tired after a week of doggie sleepaway camp at Dogtopia. We will definitely keep boarding her there when her human family goes out of town!

I have been using Dogtopia of New Rochelle for those days where I’m gone for the day. Dogtopia has been a great resource in the Larchmont/ New Ro area. My dog loves to be social with other dogs and it provides a great opportunity to do so. The camera in the app is great, and the staff are all friendly. Only downside is the smell when my dog comes home (but I think it’s a normal thing with doggy daycare centers). Book your appointment in advanced or call day of, which usually works too.

The young man who greeted me initially was friendly and helpful. He made a great impression. I like the way the doggie playrooms are set up and that there is an associate there at all times. Stopped in to check this place out on a whim.I am taking my pet elsewhere, after what I overheard,The manager (Justin) is unprofessional and not kind to employees quite the bully in my opinion which makes me question how he treats the dogs.All other employees I met were kind and deserve better management.Unfortunately one bad apple spoils the bunch

The employees at this site are incompetent, cold and unhelpful. I was in a tight and needed boarding for a long weekend. Granted, Dogtopias policy of behavioral checks and day care prior to boarding is necessary and wonderful but the local staff at this site were completely unhelpful in trying to accomplish this for my pet in a time frame that should have worked (4 days). Ultimately, a service and business should be welcome to making business and this sites energy was the complete antithesis of that entrepreneurial spirit: lazy, arrogant, poor customer service and apathetic. I would not recommend anyone use their services and would encourage their staff to go through customer service training and team building so that they may improve their poor, unprofessional and quite frankly, raggedy service.

Dogtopia has become a valuable part of my dogs and my familys quality of life. He spends his days in a loving clean environment. HE has made true doggie friends. He goes in happy comes out happy. My husband and I get a professional team who truly care about our dog, answer our questions and make our work life balance a lot easier.

My dog instantly loved going in and followed the handler with no problem. Super playful and very attentive to what was around her. Major perk was being able to check her out on the webcam. This place gives major peace of mind. Id recommend for sure.

Everyone I spoke to was very friendly and not rushed at all. I appreciated the convenient pick up / drop off hours (7-7) and the fact that there was ample parking. Biggest factor was that the majority of the day is play time, vs other places weve taken our pup where they have dedicated play hours. Also love the app where we can see that Goose is getting all the love and attention he needs ;)

I brought our young golden retriever for a deluxe bath and grooming. Amongst the three grooming establishments we have tried in our area, Dogtopia of New Rochelle did the best job by far at the best price. Will certainly make this setting the first choice venue. Our dog received many compliments on his appearance.

I bring my dog here Mon-Fri and he LOVES it! He is always eager to go inside in the morning and greet all the people and dogs. I really like that I can watch him on the cameras (even outside) at any time during the day - it was especially important to me the first few days because I wanted to make sure he was adjusting well. He has a great time and comes home exhausted - thanks!

My dog goes there every day for daycare. These guys are the best! The owner walked us through the whole facility when we first came. Different HVAC units for every room to prevent anything from spreading. Very clean. Highly recommend for daycare.

I wish I could give 10 stars to this place. Staff is friendly, attentive; the owner is extremely accommodating and you can tell he cares about what he does. Ill check in from time to time on the webcams (of course) and almost always theres a pet receiving some love from the staff and always paying attention. I mean when I first brought my 50 lb dog, I was carrying her in! Now, she trots happily in on her own; which indicates to me she is comfortable at this point. I am just beyond impressed with the level of care received from this facility and recommend to literally anyone who will let me tell them.Also, for the people who return home with sick dogs; this can really happen anywhere, even when vaccinated. Similar to the common cold, kennel cough has multiple strains and it is impossible to vaccinate for all of them. This really isnt a reflection of the facility, in my opinion.

Id like to give Dogtopia of New Rochelle the highest possible recommendation. During our dogs recent stay, the staff recognized symptoms of bloat, a difficult to diagnose and frequently fatal condition, and rushed him for emergency care. Jonathan, the empathic handler who cared for Brady that day, sensed intuitively that something was amiss and was critical in saving our pets life. Sarah, the manager, arranged immediate evaluation by our vet, who confirmed her diagnosis; Paul, the owner of the kennel, personally transported our dog to the vet and to emergency care in order to facilitate immediate treatment. This is an ethical, well-run, commendable facility staffed by proficient, compassionate professionals who have a true feeling for animals, and we are grateful for their kindness and expertise.

Dogtopia has been one of the best discoveries since adopting our dog Jesse. We have used both their daycare services and boarding services and have been extremely happy. The best part is I can feel how much the staff loves Jesse! Thanks for everything Dogtopia!

My puppy Georgie LOVES Dogtopia. He’s been going ever since he was old enough to go and he has so much fun playing with the other dogs. The place is clean, the people are great and I wouldn’t send him anywhere else.

Ive been boarding my pup here for various quick trips over the last 6 months. The staff is super friendly and helpful, I love the webcam feature on the app so I can check in on him while away and the rates are fair and reasonable.

I went out of town for a few days and like any fur baby parent I wanted to leave him in great hands. I ran into this place and based on the five star review I decided to leave my baby here. He was in perfectly great health. I had taken him to the vet before hand and when I took him home. He was coughing and had a runny nose. A trip to the vet again revealed he had gotten kennel cough from his stay. I found out later that I wasnt the only person whose fur baby got sick and when it was brought to the managers attention he denied that the facility was the source. I would not recommend this place to any dog owner. A kennel cough outbreak is not a good sign of a healthy clean and responsible dog care business.

I have never experienced a WORSE but absolutely WORSE service in my dogs life. I made an appointment on Saturday and took my dog today for a wash and trim including cutting nails and ear cleaning. The lady who was at the reception was quite kind and wrote down the instructions which were among others to NOT trim the ears and the whiskers. . Then this lady left and another - Sarah, the manager - came in yanked the small 6 pound dog in and asked what there was to do. To which I responded that the dog was having a light trim but I that I had given a complete list to the previous lady, please follow the instructions. She was so rude I left having a knot in my stomach. The dog is small and she was dragging her. I came back to pick up the dog: the ears are trimmed despite the request to not trim them; so are the whiskers; and the nails are not cut. On top of it, instead of apologizing for not following the very very clear instructions, she was rude and in fact horrible. I have never experienced this kind of service for my dogs, or for that matter, anything else.There are many other places in Westchester, avoid this one.

My dog loves coming here! She plays for hours and comes home tired and calm. The cameras are great because you can check in on your dog any time.

Communication and enthusiasm is lacking at front desk ( also manager). Not very personalized like most dog places. Busy street so sometimes hard to get my dog in ( need a gate that works at front door.)

Dogtopia in New Rochelle has an amazing staff, really friendly, and I feel so comfortable leaving her in their care instead of being home alone. My rescue is very shy and I can see her coming out of her shell more and more.

I had a tour of Dogtopia last week and was super impressed at how clean, fresh and new the facility is and the staff there were so knowledgeable about every dog-related question I had. I cant wait to drop our puppy off so he can play inside and outside while I can watch on the webcam!

Mug-Z is very happy at Dogtopia, and so am I knowing hes having fun and being well cared for!!

Love the facility and the hands on approach! We feel especially at ease knowing that we can watch our pup through the webcams. Our girl Riley comes home happy and exhausted.

Terrible experience here. Their “behavioral evaluation” is laughable- who the heck expects dogs to allow a random stranger to pet them?! Very bizarre facility and I will never send my dogs here!

Really poor customer service from the older white lady with grey hair. She has a very holier than thou attitude and it stinks! The girls dealing with the dogs hands on were lovely however and the space isn’t bad but I refuse to take my dog back to that place.

Our canine companion, Annie loves Dogtopia of New Rochelle. Its conveniently located, has great facilities, staff, management and ownership. We are glad to be a client.

Not good for all dogs. My older (10) dog was overwhelmed by being among a lot of dogs all day, needed quiet time. Poor communication in letting me know that he was having issues. He was banned without any prior warnung.

Great experience! We were a walk-in for grooming and they were able to accomodate us. They did a great job and they did not take forever to do it! Bella looks gorgeous! (the photo is from today, the grooming was a few days ago so she now needs brushing but she looks great!)

Our Lab, Penny, had a fabulous day at Dogtopia! I loved being able to watch her socialize with other dogs and get tons of exercise via the webcam.

Would leave 0 stars if possible. When watching cameras, we discovered workers mistreating our dog, shoving her in a crate and darkening it because she was barking. All dogs bark, and our dog was in no way misbehaving, as we watched the whole ordeal. Additionally, this wasn’t even boarding- IT WAS A TRIAL. NEVER send your dog here. I wouldn’t even want my worst enemy to send their dog here. Additionally, all managers my family and I tried to talk to were completely unwilling to take accountability for what they had done. Total lack of responsibility and extremely poor customer service in addition to mistreating our dog. I will leave negative reviews all over the internet, because no one’s pet deserves the treatment ours received at this location.Edit: my reservation was not under my name, but someone else’s, as our dog is a family dog.

Our dog seems to be really happy when staying here. She gets to have fun with other dogs in a safe environment. Thank you for the peace of mind!

The receptionist was very nice and answer all of our, many many, questions. The staff that took care of our puppies was able to win Penny over, she was suspicious at the beginning, and did not want to go in. This was her first experience. On the other side Loki was even too excited, but they were able to handle him just fine. It was fun to check what they were doing with the cameras and having a parking lot so spacious made it easy to let the dogs in and out of the car.

Seems like the staff at the New Rochelle area are a bit more stable with their work demeanor.

The pup comes back happy and tired, plus I can watch him while he plays through their web cam. What more can I ask for?!

Just called Dogtopia in New Rochelle and advised my Amstaff dog is not comfortable with jumpy dogs before i could get another word in I was told yeah... this isnt the place for your dog.

Horrible intake person

My puppy loves Dogtopia! He started with a Meet and Greet and I’ll be signing up for one of their packages upon his next visit. The staff is friendly and very understanding when it comes to new clients. Sophie and Sarah put my mind at ease when leaving my puppy for the first time. Highly recommended!!

It’s so much fun for my dog to go to Dogtopia. She loves socializing with the other dogs and we feel confident she’s well taken care of. We enjoy the ability to see her on the cameras as well. Also love that our high energy lab comes home happily exhausted!

It is clear that the staff really care about the dogs. I also appreciate the responsiveness to questions and that they are open until 7:00 pm during the week. My dog goes every day and is always happy when we get there, which says a lot.

The staff are very friendly and welcoming ! My Scottie (cockatoo) came back from daycare super exhausted! I feel so comfortable to know that there are Cameras available for me to see what he is doing. We will definitely come back!

They take very good care of your pets there

We just started using Dogtopia and love it. My Breezy is not afraid to be left there and seems happy throughout the day, which I know because of the awesome cameras.

I had to travel to the New Rochelle area for a family emergency. Because it was last minute trip, I was unable to secure care for my dog at home and had to bring her with me. I was so relieved to find Dogtopia New Rochelle! The staff was kind, knowledgable and professional. The facility was immaculate and I loved that I could watch the play areas via webcam. I had never left my dog in a boarding facility before but will absolutely bring her back next time I have to come to the area. Such a great find!

We love Dogtopia because it’s clean, has a friendly staff, good care, we enjoy watching our dog on the webcam and it’s only 10 minutes away from home. It also has boarding and grooming services besides daycare which is available when needed. We highly recommend Dogtopia of New Rochelle. Ann & Tom DeRosa Tootsie too!

My cockapoo hates to be home alone and so we turned to Dogtopia. Lucy loves her time there and always comes home happy and tired.

It was a three night stay plus looked after my puppy well.
