At first the grooming experience was great, my dog pennie loved Dylan who has since left the company. My dog sees Tania now who’s great and always goes above and beyond. However twice when my dog had new employees she returned home injured without anyone telling me. First it was someone cut the quick of her nail and she bled all over my car. I gave them a pass, my dog has black nails and she’s small so it might be challenging for someone inexperienced. Today I go in expecting Tania, there’s someone new who washed my dog and did everything. At pickup I notice my dog rubbing her eye and it’s teary/red and think nothing of it because they typically get hair in her eyes just based off her head shape. We get home her eye is red, irritated, and she’s squinting. So I call and the woman who answered the phone said she washed my dog and got tear free shampoo in her eyes and it should resolve within the next day plus she didn’t mention it because they were “swamped”. She was literally sitting down in the chair at the front when I came and went twice. But still I’m paying 83 dollars for this service and both times no one has the decency to tell me my dog is hurt. I’ve been washing her eye out and applying a cold compress but she’s still very uncomfortable and teary. I just can’t get over this because I use tear shampoo on my dog at home that’s tear free and this has never been a problem. If I have to go to the vet because of someone’s incompetence I will be very upset.

Karla the groomer was outstanding. She was patient with my dog who can be aggressive toward strangers. She took the time to let my dog warm up to her and was understanding about my dog’s difficult personality. She communicated with me about timing to minimize time spent in the cage. The grooming was quick and Karla listened to what I wanted. The pricing was also much better than other places I’ve been to.

Always has what I need for my dog. Dry food wet food, treats. Always some kind of sale going on. Their grooming services are also great! Salespeople are always helpful! Great store@

This is a local store who treats anybody who walks in that door like family. Love the staff, and they always have what I need. My cats play hard and usually destroy their toys, no problem I could always go back to get more.

They’re running a 20% off purchases. I saw dry cat food on sale with the 20% off sign. Not only did they refuse to give me the sale price without the 20% off they wanted to charge me the full price of the item!!!!!! The assistant manager was rude, so was the girl at the cashier!!!! Rude!!!!!

Brought my golden retriever to get groomed there as lve done so many times. Used to go to Dylan and Melissa who were great. Also used Tania the past few times with no complaints. I showed up and asked for what I normally ask for, bath brush and deshed package. Except, when I picked up my dog he was completely cut short as if he was a yellow lab. I asked Tania about it and she told me that was the deshed, as she was talking on the phone with someone else. Since I already had to pay ahead of time and was in a bit of surprise I walked out. On my ride home I noticed he was cut completely uneven so I called to speak to the manager and offered to come back with him. Karen was nice and said she would call me back after speaking with the groomer. I never heard back so called 2 hours later, I spoke with Phil. I asked to refund the 133 dollar cut because I was so disappointed in how my dog looks and will have have to get him fixed to grow back right. Phil was extremely rude on the phone not at all apologetic. Wouldnt even consider a refund and said theres nothing he can do but give me a 25% off my next cut. I attached pictures of my dog before and after for reference. I wont be going back.

I go to my local Pet Supplies for Benito’s grooming, always with Tania, since he was a little puppy 2 years ago. He is the most precious part of the family and for us, it’s important to feel that he’s safe and in good hands. Tania always knows what’s best for him according to the season/weather. I wouldn’t trust Benito with nobody else, you really need to care and respect animals to do this job and I can sense that from her. This is an excelent Pet Supplies location overall with good offers, coupons and variety.

This is really an awesome pet store. I love to come in and check out all the fish they have. Anything from regular guppies to plecos and they even have African cichlids.. Also the reptiles they have look To be in great health and condition. The other day I was here and watched one of the employees caring for the lizards spraying them with water bottles. They must really like their job to do that. They also have alot of cat and dog options like food toys, bedding... All in all I would highly recommend this pet shop.

Friendly knowledgeable staff. My go to pet store..I totally had to bump u up to 5 stars.I took my pup in for a nail trim.This dog is a rescue who had a rough start because of this he is afraid of everyone. Kaitlin was AMAZING!!! She made him so comfortable and safe.I am not exaggerating when I say it is a rarity for him. She is definitely an asset.

!!!!!!!What was needed for the home style job Great greetings in the door immediately paged a reptile purchase.Juvenile Chinese water dragon...Got everything I needed food light bedding and some such thank you you guys are great and I even got a cricket reward since I havea crested gecko and a Chinese water dragon and both of them will be eating crickets for every cricket I buy Ill receive free crickets. Very happy super excited to go back and shop for some more good stuff thank you guys!!!!!!

Its mixed feelings fur me here. Staff is friendly, courtesy, and knowledgeable. Sometimes prices for dog food are exceptionally high. There is a nice clearance wall in the back with great unbeatable prices that you will often find at target, marshalls, etc for 3x higher. Other then that. Its a decent pet store that has everything you need.

I had to stop what I was doing to give a shout out to Taylor, who is a groomer at Pet Supplies in Oceanside.Yesterday, for the 4th time, Taylor did BOTH our dogs. Sam is a CockerPoo and Gumball is a CavaPoo. They are both old dogs. 13 and 15. They usually are so frightened when they have to get groomed, but after searching from one groomer to the next, we finally struck gold with Taylor at Pet Supplies. She is so soft spoken and gentle with them. She does a beautiful job in styling and both dogs come out looking absolutely gorgeous! Taylor also listens to all our concerns and is extra gentle with my babies. Gumball has so many skin tags and growths. In the past, every other place I’ve taken her to, the groomer would hit them with the razor even though I’d ask them to please be careful. Taylor, with great effort, SCISSOR cut Gumball in order to avoid hurting her and causing her to bleed! Success! I really can’t say enough about her professional and friendly demeanor. We FINALLY found a groomer we can hand our precious babies over to, without fear or worry.One thing more, Pet Supplies is a well kept store, parking is convenient and it shares a parking lot with loads of other stores, so there’s plenty to do if you want to wait for the phone call from Taylor, saying, “Your babies are ready!”Thank you Taylor!Cookie & Barry

Love this pet store. Everyone was so kind when I walked in. I love going to this chain store because they have a wide variety of snacks. Most stores have one case. They have a whole aisle of dog snacks. The store smells good. The staff are kind and loving to my dog when I bring her. They also helped me find a better brand to feed my dog than the current brand I was feeding her.

We walked in and the staff was so sweet! I was on the phone so I feel kinda bad because I didnt match the girls energy. BUT my pup was so happy to get the attention and treat she gave him. You guys are always great here. Prices are comparable to anywhere else and they have good variety.Always a good trip with the dog! Thank yall

This is a wonderful store with an amazing staff! I went for the first time when the Covid-19 virus broke out in March and they were simply fantastic. Alex was incredibly helpful and I cannot say enough nice things about my experience with her and the with this store! Keep up the Great work during this difficult time. The employees are great! Very friendly and helpful. The manager on the other hand has some major issues and has a lot of learning to do!! She is VERY rude and disrespectful to her employees and her customers! I was standing on the check out line which is next to her office and you can hear her yelling at an employee. Other employees on the floor had this look of disbelief and concern on their face. She had the audacity to tell an employee she didnt care about their safety. Amongst other VERY disrespectful and foul things. Avoid this place and go somewhere else where customers AND employees are appreciated and respected and not spoken to like trash!!! With all the negative reviews regarding this manager Im VERY surprised she is still employed there!!

Just want to add, after reading some of the other well intentioned constructive comments below, and taking in their experience in context.Weve always found the staff to be helpful, and this is over the course of years of visits, which also points to consistent, good management.Over the years, weve brought 2 of our dogs in, staff has always been friendly. Associates always ask if we need help.Its a very competitive business. Also note, We havent been to Petco in years, loath the thought, bleech! ... and they are -5- minutes from our home in Baldwin! Think of this place as a local pet shop, good variety of products and essentials.Understand the fish situation below, but as a former enthusiast (20 years ago), its a rough line to maintain, .. Take it in context, but their concern is understood. Thumbs up for caring for the angel fish.Oh, and the parking is -very- convenient.All in all, this is -the- store we return to, for years.Prev post...Good people, neat, we guess just suffering a little from online competition, inflation and COVID hangover. Please use local stores when possible. People will miss being able to go see, touch and shop items. Like everyone else, were watching pennies, but shop local when we can.

Tania is the best dog groomer out there. My dog gets excited just seeing her, and he always looks his best when we leave.

Not really sure whats going on with this place. I usually go monthly. Last few times Ive been there the items I buy each month just havent been there....(supply chain shortage maybe). All the people there are very nice and helpful, except for the manager.

Every time I am in this store I feel like I am being ripped off. Unfortunately my dog has gotten used to the Redford Naturals dry food which I believe is an exclusive brand. Today I tried to use a coupon for 15% off which was sent in a mailer. When I tried to redeem the coupon the cashier took off .15% instead of 15%, which saved me 15 cents instead of 15 dollars. When I noticed the error, I called in and the manager asked me to bring in my coupon, but they had collected the coupon, so how was I supposed to reproduce it? When I asked the manager how I was supposed to produce a coupon that was taken from me, he put me on hold and hung up. Unfortunately, I still think I have to shop here for my dogs sake, but they treat their customers like garbage.

Nice clean store. The clerks in the store are the best. Knowledgeable, professional, friendly. They dont just sell you the fish, they ask about your tank . Answer any question. As a new fish tank enthusiast, they explained how to keep the tank healthy.

The staff is always helpful and knowledgeable. Prices are good. Grooming department is fantastic. My dogs love the groomer and she does a great job, she is even able to keep my big dog calm when he gets upset and scared. I have taken them to other groomers that were unable to complete everything and dogs didnt look they were even bathed. But they come out of supplies plus looking and smelling great.

This store is in bad shape and in need of new management. At best it is half stocked at all times. Shelves are chronically half or completely empty in all aisles. It is dirty, and chronically understaffed. Most staff there have no idea what is going on in the store although a select few are knowledgable. The store is poorly managed. With regard to live feed for pets, even after complaining multiple times, insects are there for purchase for 5 months. They are clearly dead and shouldnt be available for sale to give to pets, but the manager wont discard. Staff has told me that they complain to the manager about a myriad of issues in the store and it falls on deaf ears. Overall the vibe in the store is just gross.

Prices are nothing special, but wow they have a massive selection of dog food. Best selection in town, I would say. They also have other services here but I haven’t used any.

My family is so happy to have met the store manager on our visit. We are new pet parents and she spend a lot of time with us and helped guide us in the right direction for not only our cat but our newly purchased betta fish. It is rare that you go into a store and the store manager is even out and about to help. We entered the store and she greeted us and asked if there was anything she could help us with. We had just adopted a kitten and she was amazing with helping us with a few issues we were having and how to fix them.My daughter fell in love with a betta fish there and the manager helped us with everything we needed and gave us a pamphlet to care for the fish as well as a business card and said if we needed anything we could call and she would help us with anything. My daughter now wants to go to this store just to talk with the manager who she calls her friend now.

As an owner of two pets, this was only my 4th visit to this store and leave more impressed each time, today i booked two grooming appointments mainly because prices were decent and scheduling was a breeze better than that prices are better than the other pet store i use. Only thing missing is full time vet office...I cant wait

I get crickets for my crested gecko and they are always helpful and polite and the staff are familiar with different species and types of reptiles that they dont even carry which was great when I bought a Chinese water dragon I named margarita!! Good stuff! Thanks for your passion!!

Manager was useless, never again. Ordered online for pick up and 3 out of 6 items they said werent available but went in the store and l they were available. I asked If they could give me the items for the price I paid online and he said its already discounted. Sorry to bother him at work sitting in the office

I purchased a new tank absolutely fish from here two months ago, everything went smoothly. I returned to purchase an additional fish and was informed that I had the wrong tank and too many fish for the tank. Pretty upsetting has these are my daughters pets. I don’t understand why I would be sold something that was incorrect, I expected them to be knowledgeable as I know nothing about this. Their response was who helped you? I can’t remember it was two months ago and what does that matter?! They also said it’s common knowledge that it’s 1 fish per gallon, again something I didn’t know-I would check your facts and google before trusting what they say. When I asked if I could exchange or get a discount on a larger tank they said I can’t as it’s been used - well obviously. They put me in this situation. Pretty disappointing as I will be buying a bigger tank elsewhere.

The best pet supplies store on Long Island! They have everything under the sun and if they dont have it theyll get it with no hassle. The staff is all friendly and helpful - they actually ask if you need help without you having to go find them and beg - imagine that! Plus they always offer to help customers carry heavy bags of food and supplies to their car. A really well run place!

My fiance and I took our puppy to pet supplies plus to get him a harness. We walked out with so many toys and some treats for our lil Frankie. He had such a good experience and the staff was very nice. 100% will come back for any puppy needs!

Nice stuff and lots of choices. I was looking in the fish tanks and they have a big tank of what looks like gold fish. I noticed there were dead ones at the bottom. Then I saw the live fish eating the dead ones. Are they not being fed and starving?

The staff was helpful and answered questions as best they could. Whoever takes care of the aquarium tanks does a phenominal job. Even the feeder fish tanks are well kept. I bought some for my children and they are beautiful for feeders and cheaper than other stores and those tanks were loaded with ick and dead fish. If the goldfish dont survive i will be purchasing my tropical fish here. All of their animals that i could see look well cared for.

Our go-to place for pets. They have everything our puppy loves - his canned food, dry food, treats & toys - all at decent prices, and they have good sales/specials. The store is laid out well so its easy to find what you need and the staff is extremely helpful and friendly.

They have an extensive stock of everything for pets, from goldfish to almost anything else. Prices are good and store has nice roomy isles.

Last night the manager Andy helped me out with a very serious problem we were having. Our dog was just diagnosed with diabetes the day before and when I was leaving work at 9pm I got a call that the dog was trying to bite not wanting his insulin shot. After explaining what was going on he let me in to get a muzzle so that we can give our dog his much needed medicine without anyonegetting bit. I can not thank Andy and Pet Supplies Plus enough for helping us. There are not many businesses that would allow one in after hours, they did seeing the seriousness of the situation. They truly have people who love animals that work there and they went the extra mile to help out a family with a very serious problem.

Stopped in to get some supplies for my fish tank. The staff member helping me was pretty rude and condescending because I didnt know exactly what I wanted. I just wanted to look in the tanks and browse, but I guess you cant do that here.Usually Id go to Petco up long beach road but I happened to be in the shopping center so I figured Id stop in pet supplies plus for the convenience. Ended up going to Petco and the staff there was much more helpful and accommodating, without the attitude.

Helpful staff in store. Always willing to answer questions or help locate items if not readily visible. Saw two patient young ladies trying to handle an uncooperating dog in the grooming area and eventually succeeding.

I own and operate a rescue and this location has been nothing but amazing and super helpful!! All of the employees are considerate and respectful & they really help out rescues! I would recommend anyone to go here for any of their pets needs :)

Great abundant variety of foods for all kinds of animals. They let you touch some of the birds, ferrets & you can bring your pet in with you. They also offer adoptions & low cost spaying/neutering. I stock up when they have sales. You need to know your prices tho because when an item isnt on sale the supermarket may have items for less.

I enjoy shopping here then Petco because they have every thing I need at prices the other store doesnt and Im thrilled with their new line of canned dog food from Orijen and Acana they sold dry food only for so long glad they added can wet food into their lineup..that Petco doesnt offer yet

I have an aquarium in my home and for anybody that owns one you know that you might need something at a moments notice. Thats why Im glad that theres a pets supply plus located in my area. Their prices beat petlands and Petco, but I wouldnt recommend buying livestock from their store. Ive had trouble with some of the fish Ive purchased from their tanks. Often those tanks are heavily medicated due to unhealthy fish and once you bring them home to your tank where the water parameters are different and theyre no longer on their medication the die off quickly. I may still have a few left from this store but they are generally pretty hard fish that are tough to kill. Buyer beware. Great for other pet related needs though.

Bad management of the store. Employees are poorly trained. Just a sad looking store. Keep on going else where. Youre better off.

Havent been in there in a long time. Its very big. There was a lot to look at. I felt it was a little expensive. I just remembered people saying that many years ago.

I purchased a bag of dog food which was expired. Upon walking the store, I found many with the same problem. Definitly need to do better! I am not feeding my dogs this.

Young white girl offered 20% discount coupon to a white female customer who was right before me. When I got to her, she turned the coupon upside down. She didnt make the same offer and had a smirk on her face when my friend picked up the coupon and told her that I was entitled to the same.Bin white customers ought to pay attention when they get to the register if you choose to go there!

The staff are great. They go out of their way to answer any questions and help in any way they can. I always find what I came in for and also sometimes find things I didnt know I needed.

Wide selection of pets products. They always do a great job grooming Kobe. They give helpful advice on taking care of Kobe skin. The grooming team is awsome.

Place is more expensive than the supermarket. Example: Fancy Feast small cans are .63 while at the sm it is .60 but often goes on sale. When I told the cashier she said: bring us an ad clipping and youll get that price. Thats really unhelpful! Some other astronomical prices: small catnip toy 5.98 (on sale???). Isnt the whole idea of a discount pet supply place to be cheaper than the sm? I give them an extra star for being nice people and having some fun pets to look at.

Walked into the store right away somebody came over and asked if they can help me and which I didnt need help and they help me very promptly I am very curious and very helpful

I have been shopping at Oceanside store since Inwood store closed, I have yet to leave without feeling satisfied. All the team members are helpful and very friendly, greet you coming in as well as leaving, unlike other stores if you get there at 8:45PM, no one is screaming at you to hurry up, usually running for 1 or 2 items so always out by 9PM. Workers will stop what they are doing to look up prices for you and show similar items so you have a choice. They carry so many food offerings, everything you need for your pet regardless of what your companion is, organic healing and wound care and many green items that help environment, rewards program is a definite plus, one of the first stores to offer. Kudos Pet Supplies Plus, name states it all!!

A lifesaver, non of the other pet stores had automatic feeders for the aquarium. They stay open later than their competitors which is a bonus.

Store is ok for simple, quick items for most family pets. A few of the staff are knowledgeable.

Unfortunately, they don’t take care of their tropical fish. I’m a fish hobbyist, and when visiting their store, nearly all of the fish are in bad condition, dead, or near death. The tanks are in bad shape and very dirty. It’s unfortunate because they have a good variety of fish that you would typically pay a lot more money if purchasing from a fish breeder online. Three days ago, I went to the store to buy tiger barbs and green tiger barbs; I felt so bad for an angelfish with ich all over it and fin rot. I told the store clerk, and she pretty much shrugged and said she would tell her store manager. Considering the condition of the other fish in the store, I didn’t think the angelfish would get the care it needed. So, I purchased it. The poor thing is currently in treated water in my quarantine tank. My recommendation for people wanting to buy fish from this store, buy the fish the day the shipment comes in; I was told it’s Wednesdays. Then please make sure you quarantine the fish in a separate tank if you already have an existing tank. If you add a new fish to your current tank, you run a high risk of getting your other fish sick or outright killing them with a foreign bacteria.

The first time we visit this store. All employees were very helpful and assist us with everything we need. A very nice lady (sorry I didnt get her name) explained to us about the product we both. And eventhough we know some of that information still its a good thing. We will surely come back again to get what we need. We didnt get a chance to look around the whole store since what we need located just infront of their store. So glad.
