Dog Training Beyond

For the first time in three years since my boy Dante was attacked, I walked him with another dog. Dante is the tan one, and suffered from bad fear based aggression towards other dogs after he was attacked by 3 off leash dogs and his little brother Merlin didn’t survive the attack. They did 3 walks today, slowing decreasing the distance between them. We even got them to walk side by side, mere inches apart. Thank you Felix Rosado. We did 6 lessons with Felix, and when I first spoke to Felix, I was hysterical crying on the phone. Convinced my dog was a lost cause, and that we would never be able to be around other dogs again. Believe or not as I type this, they are both off leash, in a living room. There’s still lots of work to be done, but if you asked me 3 months ago if my dog could be around other dogs I would’ve said a hell no! Felix has a genuine love for dogs, and when I called crying with no hope, he had hope and believed in my baby Dante.

My husband and I fostered a dog for the first time over Christmas two years ago. We rescued a bullmastiff/boxer mix, who was a strong and extremely reactive girl. She could not be walked even for a second in NYC due to sounds, humans walking by, and ESP due to dogs. She was insanely reactive and unmanageable. We were torn because she was such a smoosh and so loving at home. Our rescue recommended Felix. Right from the start we saw his passion and genuine love for dogs. After several months with Felix, Gidget returned to us a changed dog. Felix taught us that we have to continue to put in the work and reinforce the work he had put into Gidget, which was so true. Gidget now can be walked at ease in the city, unphased by humans, noises, and most dogs. We are so blessed that Felix helped train and reshape our dog, as well as us and how we interacted with Gidget. Run, don’t walk, to this dog trainer!!

Felix saved my dog. Simple as that, he saved my dog. Mallory was the most aggressive puppy that Ive ever encountered. She would greet you with a bite and then try to get you again. I was at wits end when I found Felixs website. What a difference a few weeks made. The dog that would try to bite you now says hello with a gentle kiss. Listen to the man he knows what he is talking about. Follow his instructions and do your homework, and youll be rewarded with the pup that you want. Felix, Mallory and I both say thank you so much!

Dog Training Beyond did an amazing job building our puppy up. When we started working with Felix, Chunker was not listening or abiding to any commands and super reactive with other dogs and people. Even though we paid for 6 sessions with Felix, Chunker did a complete 180 transformation in 4 sessions. Our family is now well adjusted to puppy life! Not only did Felix train up Chunker, he trained us as well to be informed puppy parents, and answered any and all of our questions. We can now enjoy hiking trips and even going out to dog friendly restaurants and not have to worry about being embarrassed over our puppys reactivity.

I came to Felix with a 8 mo old huge German shepherd who is the biggest lush but definitely needed a lot of obedience and behavioral training. Previously before training with Felix, we tried other trainers who I felt did give me the help or tools I need to train my dog better. Training with Felix, he tell you up front, if you want to see a better change in your dog, you as the owner have to change and put in the work as well. My. GSD is still learning with him and in the 6 months of working with Felix I have seen a huge change in Groot my GSD. he responds to me better, hes pays attention, he follows commands better and more importantly he loves it and it helps with stimulate him mentally!. I run a large breed dog rescue, I have dealt with many situations over the years and many trainers. My overall take on trainers is that most truly dont know what they are doing and the dogs lose out because they can actually make a situation worse. Being in rescue I see the aftermath of these situations and so many dogs being tossed in shelters and being put to sleep because the trainer just tells the people the dog is untrainable. Ive went to the quote/unquote best trainers and have traveled far to take some of my problem rescues to training and spent endless money and most times the dog had become worse. I am so glad I found Felix. Not only do I think hes an amazing trainer, but he has a heart of gold and truly loves animals. Being in my line of work, I get asked for recommendations all the time and where I used to say none are worth it, I now can say with confidence, even if you have to drive, HES WORTH IT.

It truly is so hard having such a fearful dog - it is something nobody prepares you for when you rescue a puppy because so many issues come along with it. when we found a trainer like Felix it made it so much easier and gave us some light on some dark issues. Felix was the first person who never judged us about our dog.Having terrible prior experiences at a vet & talking to a different private trainer i was very weary on reaching out for help again.When we met felix for our consultation a few months ago, i was 100% honest with him about those prior experiences. Felix never judged our situation or made us feel nervous. He is very knowledgeable about EVERYTHING when it comes to dogs. Felix has been a great find for us since we adopted our Affenpinscher from the shelter. He has done an amazing job of working with our pup to overcome her extreme shyness. I had seen several trainers and wasted my time and money on all of them, so I am beyond thankful for Felix and the company he has built. Felix worked with us every week on skills that build on each other. The incremental steps worked really well for my dog, and each week I went home with homework to work on with my Dog. I started seeing major improvements in his obedience and training almost immediately, and anytime there may have been a hang up in progress Felix was quick to reassess the approach and figure out how to make it work for us. I would also point out that Felix makes an effort to stay up to date on the newest training techniques and even attended a two-week seminar with one of the best dog trainers in the world while training my dog. Felix has worked wonders with my 10 year old Shih Tzu, Charlee. Many trainers would not work with us because of her age and long-standing PTSD/anxiety after major surgery as a puppy. Not only has her behavior improved in the month weve been working with DTB, but Felix has spent part of each lesson teaching me how to communicate with her better with body language so that I dont unintentionally make bad habits worse, and am able to keep her calm so she can stay focused. Felix has also provided valuable advice and referrals to resources for her health and other aspects of her care. I cant say enough good things. If you have a problem dog, bring them here, youll be grateful you did.

Felix is so nice and he truly cares about the dogs he works with! We started out with our male English Bulldog (Hank) who was food aggressive and just generally aggressive toward our other male Bulldog, and we honestly thought he would need 6 months worth of work to work through his behavioural issues. However, with the love, attention, butt scratches, and dedication that Felix showed Hank....he was almost a new dog within only 3 months! We could not have been happier! Within that time we had also acquired a female English Bulldog puppy (Georgia), and she was very much in need of obedience training and to build her confidence. Felix agreed to let us use the last of Hanks sessions to work with Georgia, and tonight was our last session. She has come SO FAR in this short amount of time! She comes, listens to no, and is far less reactive to noises/distractions than she used to be. We are so impressed with the things Felix was able to help us achieve with our babies, and our household is a lot more relaxed now!

Felix was friendly and professional. My dog Daisy quickly adapted to him. Felix had my dog not pulling or lunging towards others in just one session. He was patient with me (The owner needs training too), giving great guidance in learning how to keep my dog under control. I highly recommend this company!

I started training my puppy with Felix right from the start. He is very knowledgeable and I was impressed that he continued to get certifications to learn and expand his knowledge - a good sign. He got Max to overcome many fears and be a more confident puppy. He also helped me to learn to reinforce all of his training to make for a happy, and obedient pup. This was definitely a challenge for this little puggle who has a lot of energy.Felix also helped with getting some great products that are all natural and safe, unlike many processed foods out there. I recommended him to a few friends and they loved him also.You can tell that he has an absolute passion for what he does. Thats important to me. I always felt that he had Maxs best interest at heart. Felix is the kindest, best choice we could have made for our german shepherd puppy Adonis. He took his time to first understand Adonis and us. Then he saw what needed to be done and taught us as well as Adonis. Felix is always a pleasure to work with and even is able to help out with other items for my dog like recommending food products to helping us learn how to clean his ears, and trim his nails! Felix is highly knowledgeable and accommodating in what your dog needs. He not only trains your dog but teaches and informs you as an owner. It is evident that Felix is passionate about his work with the dedication and focus he puts into each session. He trained Tyler not only basic skills such as sit, paw and lay down but more advanced skills such as crate training, leash work, word command, obedience, and building trust. Tyler was adopted at 1 years old and already had bad habits when we adopted him and Felix easily corrected those habits. We have only had Tyler 3 months and he is a new dog and I am amazed at how obedient he is. I wouldn’t recommend any other trainer, Felix is truly remarkable.

I started my puggle puppy Myla with Dog Training and Beyond since she was 8 weeks old, now she is about 9 months. I absolutely love Felix he works so well with Myla and he has a passion for what he does. Felix worked on housebreaking, crate training, socializing, leash work, play, obedience, agility and much more. She is already a well rounded dog and she is not even a year old yet. She gets so excited when we go there she runs right up to Felix every time we pull in the drive way. Would highly recommend Dog Training and Beyond! Thank you Felix!!

Augie was a hyperactive, fear aggressive type personality who would over react seeing other dogs. Felix was patient, understanding and thorough and taught Augie how to walk calmly on a leash-pass other dogs with out reacting and gave us additional pointers on how to overcome his barking at the mailman and people coming to our home. Highly recommended!

Felix has changed my life and my big boy Zeus’s life. Zeus was a very anxious dog who I couldn’t control he was the boss of me. Now I am in control and Zeus is happier bc of it. He use to feel he needed to be in control and protect me at all times. I went to two other trainers and they wouldn’t take us after meeting Zeus for 5 minutes. 1 because of his breed (PITBULL mix) and 2 bc he was barking and anxious. Felix took the time to get to know me and Zeus . He didn’t turn us away like others he gave me hope as a first time new mom and with a one year old puppy who was wild and ruling the house as well. Felix is flexible, easy to talk to and works with you on reaching your goals. Zeus wouldn’t allow anyone into my home bc of my one year old baby we have . Now a few months after training we can now introduce new people to him before entering our home and he is able to be off a leash and come to me . He will even allow some to go into the babies room after being in our home for some time. Which allows me to have a babysitter now and a dog sitter. Zeus couldn’t be off a leash if anyone walked by the house or if a dog came by. Now he knows to stay by my side . Thank you again Felix! We can’t wait to work with you again to see what else we can do with Zeus. I highly recommend Felix!

Felix was great with helping me train my puppy Penny. It’s been great watching how much and fast she learned. Felix helped give me the tools to train my puppy. Penny now listens and follows what I say. It’s such a pleasure to play with her outside when she listens and understands to what I’m saying.

I highly recommend Felix. I saw a difference in my dog in ONE lesson. My dog is 75lbs and all muscle. He practically drags me on walks. He gave me a special collar to use and showed me how to use it correctly. After being showed the tools I needed and using them correctly it was like I was walking a different dog. I honestly needed more training than my dog. It is honestly worth every penny.

This is the best investment Ive ever made. I literally saw a difference after one class. I have a hard time walking my dog. It was like a tug of war and was always so exhausting. Felix gave me a special collar to use for training and showed me how to use it properly and the difference was like night and day. As long as you are willing to put in the work you will see results. I have learned so much already and honestly I needed more training than the dog. I will always recommend this establishment.

Felix is great have been taking our 8 mo boxer Bowser to felix for about 3 months and could not be happier. Dont get sucked in to large corporations such as petco or petsmart. They do not truly modify behavior or teach the dog structure at all. Felix and dog training beyond offer the versatility of training types and flexible scheduling, I would highly recommend Dog Training Beyond.

Flix is a Highly knowledgeable dog Trainer. He is very accommodating in your dogs needs as well as the owner. My dog have high anxiety and loves to bark. After 6 sessions and learning the place command he is a different dog. No pulling still bark,but not as much and stay in the place command for 45minutes. Flix made a difference. NEVER USE DOG TRAINING BEYOND FOR YOUR CHOICE IN TRAINING YOUR DOG.Felix is an extremely unprofessional dog trainer. While I learned about engagement with my puppy and I learned about using a dremel instead of clippers for my pups nails, he fully took advantage of me being a new puppy owner and not knowing or quite understanding what I wanted and needed.50% of all of my training sessions with him were him allowing and encouraging my puppy to jump up on him and saying how cute she was and absolutely nothing to do with teaching me or my puppy anything.He would repeatedly tell me “she’s too young to understand that or learn that” but things he was describing, my pup was already doing with me. Example: being attentive to only me when I put food or a toy down somewhere. Felix told me she was too young to have that type of engagement and wouldn’t understand it and therefore we couldn’t work on it. Except that, she’s been doing that exact thing with me since 10 weeks old (she’s 18 weeks now). He repeatedly assumed these types of things without even trying it with my pup. I kept saying she’s really quite smart and attentive, but he was too self assured and involved to even try with her.I also worked out a training plan outside of his normal training plans to fit and accommodate me moving out of state 2.5 months after starting work with him. This training plan included 10 sessions for $800 plus everything he offers in his 2nd tier plan but for a greater price than his 1st tier plan.After Felix had to cancel last week for a family emergency, he told me he would be in touch about rescheduling. One week later I had yet to hear from him. Not even to let me know that maybe he was still dealing with the emergency. Fully radio silent. I quickly not only realized that I was absolutely not a valued client of his in any capacity, but also that there would be no possible way to be able to fit in just 6 more sessions before I moved.Because we had worked out a plan outside of his normal offerings, I reached out and asked fairly if he would be willing to just downgrade what I had paid. He said he’d downgrade me to his 4 session plan and give me back the $100 difference... which, definitely doesn’t add up to the correct difference. But when I started asking questions, he chose to ignore me. Eventually after 5 days of continuing to reach out to him to answer a few questions for me, he continued to avoid them with passive aggressive responses and finally redirected me to his law office calling it his “disgruntled customer service line.”These are the questions I continued to ask that I wasn’t getting answers for:1. How was 4 sessions only $100 less than the $800 I paid for 102. Could he send me the description sheet of his normal 3 tiers of training3. When I would receive the refund he did in fact plan on sending meI called his lawyer because he gave me that number instead of answering these questions himself. After I mentioned I called his lawyer with the number provided to me, I finally received an answer from him.I truly would NEVER recommend Felix to anyone. He definitely knows a good amount about training dogs and their behavior and grooming, but he is an extremely unprofessional business owner. The room he trains in is musty and also smells like piss and there’s always dogs aggressively yowling and barking outside of the training room.As a business owner myself, I understand the importance of valuing clients and working with them amicably to resolve issues if they come up. Felix made it clear that I was not a valued client after blatantly not reaching out to reschedule a session he had to cancel and then further shutting down when I continued to ask questions.Do not pay Felix to train your dogs.———————————————————————EDIT:It should be noted that Felix’s response blatantly assumes that I don’t spend time with me dog. I work with her twice per day. He also blatantly defered the fact that he neglected me as a client by telling me he needed to reschedule then never contacting me. DO NOT WORK WITH FELIX.

Felix is a highly competent, and knowledgeable trainer who worked wonders with my dog Zeus in such a short time. More than that, he is a good and kind person of high character.

Our boy Calhoun had serious reactivity and family protective issues. Working with Felix has helped Cal and us to overcome these problems. Our lives are all so much better for having worked with Felix!

This trainer was highly knowledgeable and was very accommodating. He made sure to understand what my dogs needs were and worked with my dog and I to help achieve our goals. I now feel more comfortable having my dog around other dogs and strangers. The problems I had seemed to have been corrected and it is good to know that if I have any more questions or need any advice I can reach out at any time. The support does not end when the training sessions end, it is on-going and that is something that will keep me coming back for more.

Someone that promotes a completely non science based approach to feeding habits doesnt need to be training your dog. He will also unprofessional delete you off of his facebook groups when you present science to him in any manner. Dont waste your money on ol Felix here.

Felix helped me with my pup Optimus Prime. He gave me a great foundation to work off of to help ease my pups extreme anxiety. He still has some work ahead but definitely a vast improvement

Great trainer, really knows what he is doing when it comes to training dogs. He helped turn our misbehaving German Shepard into a well trained dog. Definitely a trainer I would recommend to anyone looking for results on training their dog.

We have a 13 month old lab mix rescue who did not get along with strangers or other dogs. Taking him out for a walk was a horror! All he would do is bark and pull. Felix is a God sent. Our Ellie was a rescue that was out of control, or so we thought. Felix showed us how to approach and handle our furry family. She is amazing and whom we owed our sanity especially thru the pandemic. People who meets Ellie is amazed how well behaved she is, how responsive she is to our communication.
