Always a pleasant experience. Not a place for aggressive dogs. Very friendly environment and most are regular dog walkers or lovers. Everyone knows one another. Duke Park is surrounded via a sports park n walking πΆββοΈ trails. Its very diverse safe and I even got to do pull ups n dips nearby. Yes exercise stations nearby. Dog bags. Bathroom. VeryClean n laid back park. Actually a hidden gem. Moreover.... many sporting events from soccer to baseball etc . Great place to just chill n relax. Yeah plenty parking. Enjoy. Being going here over 12 yrs with my black labrador
It was a decent park. A bit small but fenced in quite well. The dog park in rockaway is much larger and the one we usually visit. Very disappointed in the other owners there. My dogs are very friendly but very protective. One owner came in with a baby and their dog was constantly coming up to one of mine and barking aggressively. I had to restrain my dog from attacking. The other owner just said, he is being very protective of the baby today. Didnt discipline his dog or anything. So we left. Very upsetting. Another dog owner there, obviously friends with that owner, didnt even say anything. They just kept taking about getting together one night during the week.
Large and small dogs are separated, which is good. Its not a huge area but its sufficient. Ive used it twice now to introduce a new rescue to my other two dogs. Did the trick. All dogs are happy and playing nicely together.
Nice place and nice people.Seems to have two fenced in areas for different sized dogs. Although when we went one side was mixed with other empty. After speaking to some people who tend to frequently go there, they said you can find people there from 4:30-6.
Nice park, large and small dog area. It does seem to get muddy even if no recent rain. Pretty well maintained and the people and dogs visiting all seem nice. Los of poop bags avaiable.
Our pup visits regularly for about a year now and has a number of friends that go around the same times he does. Tends to pick up in numbers around 4 to 6 and most frequent visitors are nice dogs though if you like some alone time, or your pup isnt a fan of big energetic dogs, stick to the morning or mid day.Its a well fenced area, however there are plenty of holes that have been dug by some dogs that may or may not get filled in a week or two. Also, there are times when the trash and cleanup bins go unemptied for what seems like weeks and the mowing is on an irregular schedule so watch your step while in the enclosures!Definitely bring your own toys and water. Theres a faucet thats been installed within the last month or so but has been dry up to our most recent visit today. They may also want to revisit the latches on the gates, since they seem to get ice jammed in the winter, and have had successive numbers of people who dont understand how they work (push down on the long handle, dont just push on the gate) who have worn them out as well.As other reviewers have stated, it does get flooded and muddy when weve had lots of wet snow, or rain so if it been rainy recently you might only be able to really use the small dog section as thats higher than the big dog area and tends to dry out faster.
Park was great . You can see that it is in need of cleanup with leaves and instead of tables, I suggest iron benchβs. Also people that use the large dog pen for small dogs should be fined and visa Versa .
An excellent addition to Stotzky Memorial Park and to the Town of Riverhead as a whole. Its always a good thing to see a town providing as many services as possible to its residents and this dog park is a shinning example of a good, responsive, and thoughtful parks and recreation department.
My dog loves the place unfortunately people do t pick up after their dogs, let them dig holes everywhere.... The ground crews dont maintain it very much either.
Not to bad,its great place to take your kids to play.
Just little small. Very clean and not muddy. After rain.
Clean, well kept but very small and dark.
Really well maintained dog park with a small and large dog area, the park itself was very nice as well! Loads of people on weekends z certainly worth taking the adventure with pups
Very small. Also fairly muddy. Doesnt seem to have much grass, (we came in April, so maybe better in summer.) No fresh water, so make sure to bring own.
Great facility, always neat and clean. Friendly dogs and owners, there.
