Always fantastic service at White Plains Pet Resort! I have brought my dog Shadow to another groomer closer to where I live, but that groomer said he needed to be sedated if he was to come back (he’s not well behaved for grooming). Now I only bring him here to see Natasha or Seckret— they are fantastic with him, and no sedation is required! The cut is always fantastic (exactly how I want it), and all the staff is super friendly and welcoming even when they are clearly busy. They really make you feel like family! I brought my other dog in to play and to get a bath. She had a great time in the large doggie camp. My only complaint— I wish the facility was closer to where I lived so I could bring them every day!

Great place to board your dog. They have a nice big room for them to play. Grooming services are nice. They always come back smelling nice and well groomed. They do day camp which is nice. Perfect for getting some errands done or going to work.Little inconsistent on pricing. They have prices but it isn’t always what it’s supposed to be. They also could use an upgrade to the webcam for the play room. Pretty blurry.Still my go to for Dog boarding.

My dog Sammy was hurt 3 times in 4 months. I had been bringing my dog Sammy to Best Friends for a little under a year. Here is what happened to him.1. HE CAME HOME WITH A HOLE IN HIS HEAD. The first time he was hurt, the vet could not confirm it was actually a dog bite and could have happened just from Sammy hitting his head on something...so I brought him back to Best Friends and had them check the facility to be sure there was nothing sharp that could have caused the injury. End of the day, I could not with 100% confidence say that this injury was due to Best Friends...but since he is with them all day and the injury did not occur at home. In hind sight, I should never have brought him back there, but I did (my fault).2. HE WAS BIT IN THE FACE BY ANOTHER DOG. About a month after that, Sammy was bit in the face by another dog during group play. Dogs are dogs and as a former owner of an aggressive rescue dog, I am probably more empathetic than other dog owners. I know Sammy does not have any aggression in him, and every dog deserves a chance in my mind, even if Sammy got hurt. I spoke to the manager of Best Friends and chalked it up to overenthusiastic play. So, I continued to bring Sammy back. (Again, my fault. I should NOT have done it).3. HE HAS A HUGE GASH IN HIS HEAD. Well, the third, and now last straw has finally occurred. I was out of the country and received a message that Sammy had been hurt AGAIN while being boarded at Best Friends. And worst of all, no one at Best Friends could confirm which dog hurt him and what happened. How did the dogs get so riled up enough for him to receive a deep 2.5 inch gash above his eye? NO ONE KNOWS.What added insult to injury was that the (a) charged me the full amount of Sammys boarding costs and (b) then told me Sammy could not come back since he had stitches (not like I would bring him back). After escalating the issue, I was told that Best Friends would not reimburse even a portion of Sammys boarding fees because the owner of one of the dogs who hurt Sammy would not pay his/her portion of the vet fees. So, end of the day, I had to make them whole for another owners lack of responsibility. I have spent THOUSANDS of dollars at this place and they did not even have the courtesy to refund me any portion of the few hundred I had just spent. They are supposed to have people in with the dogs all day watching them so exactly this type of thing does NOT happen. Its really a shame when a company cannot take ownership for its faults and I have learned my lesson as well.

Today is the day before Thanksgiving and we booked our Appointment way ahead of time. We have been customers with Best Friends for over 2 years now and never had an issue under that management but unfortunately this new company customer service has been extremely disappointing. We called and checked to make sure they had all the new vaccine paperwork for our dog Bumblebee, we were told by an employee that the fecal test from the previous year had expired (they had access to the prior companys database), so we advised them we recently did the new one and it was negative but was waiting for our vet to send them the paperwork. The employee (which knew us and was from the previous staff under Best Friends) said not to worry, that we should send over the new vaccines paperwork (which we did) and just take our dog in since its Thanksgiving, the vet may be tied up and we already history in the system. That he can verify it later.. we came in all the vaccines up to date but the new fecal test results wasnt received yet, as discussed with the prior employee. But this new staff member showed no type of customer appreciation, said he couldnt accept our dog even after we explained what was discussed with the prior employee and our customer relations. Even after we explained we had a flight to catch, so disappointing . They already have our dogs history and vet information and even acknowledged that the vet may have been busy due to the holidays which explains why they havent recieved the new one yet.We will never return to this place again and have advised our friends not to use them. Customer Service is horrible and this new staff is disgusting. Best Friends staff was exceptionally better. PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE. There are way better kennels around.

I was extremely anxious about boarding my cat for the first time. I love my cat SOO much and felt pretty guilty about having to board him while on vacation.Thankfully, my cat seemed to have a great experience here! The jungle room for cats looks like a lovely environment. Also, I had him bathed and his nails trimmed and they did a great job at the grooming! They also sent me cute, high quality pics of him too!Kudos to the whole staff at White Plains Pet Resort! Thanks so much for taking care of him while we were away

All the staff we encountered were wonderful but Sandra (manager) is a very special person - to us and our dog! She was absolutely fantastic to work with and she went above and beyond to settle our pup (boarding for the first time since leaving a shelter) and helping to calm us as well. She treated our situation with special care and followed up with us after the first day. I cannot find enough words to express how grateful we are for Sandra and her experience, compassion, and obvious love for the animals!!Sandra and Best Friends turned a ruff day into a positive one. We had arranged boarding at our veterinarian but were turned away the morning of dropping off our pup because she was too anxious and they didnt feel she would do well in their hospital-style kennels. Best Friends was recommended for their unique set up with kennels attached to a run and ease of getting the dogs in/out of the kennel without incident. We arrived at BF without a reservation, already late for a flight we would eventually miss, and with an anxious dog that had been through a lot already that morning! Best Friends took the extra time and special care to see to it that we could make boarding work for our dog and still make our weekend plans. After night 1 we received a great report - with photo and email, plus a phone call - to let us know that our sweet and gentle dog was well behaved, happy, and a pleasure to have. It just took a little TLC from Sandra to make all of our day! Thank you!!

Been leaving my dog there for a few years now. he always comes home happy and seems excited when we bring him. everyone seems to know him and be aware of his personality. Happy that Best Friends is in our neighborhood and so easy to work with. Have been having him groomed there as well. He has been groomed by a few different groomers who always follow our directions and he has always looked adorable.

They deserve negative ratings. The worst pet resort that I have come across. This is my first time bringing my bunny here. VERY UNHYGIENIC. As soon as you enter into the resort, very strong pungent urine smell hits your face. You may feel like throwing up. The bunny cabin they provided was never cleaned and very dirty. They said they will clean the cage but never did. Hence we took our own play pen and everything. We provided all the supplies and asked them to clean our bunny litter every day but it was never cleaned during his four days of stay. When I went back to pick up our bunny, their cage is still not cleaned. They don’t know how to handle bunnies. They grab pets like as if they are some items. My bunny is very depressed and scared due to the way they treated him. We are never going there again. One lady staff was Very RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL.

Everyone was super nice when I got there to drop my puppy off. My puppy is super small and the other dogs in the doggy day camp are much larger. I wish there was more dogs his size but that is obviously not their fault. I want to socialize him so I’ll prob continue to bring him maybe once a week or once every other week. Otherwise the facility is large, does smell like pee a little but that’s expected since it’s a dog facility. Would recommend!

I wish I could leave 0 stars. This place is AWFUL. I left my foster dog here for 4 hours and it took me 4 days to get the smell or urine off of him. I have left my dogs at 3 daycares before and even the ones I didn’t think are great are amazing in comparison to this place. My foster dog couldn’t run out fast enough and I will never drop a dog here again. If I knew how to report it I would. I will now never be dropping a dog off at daycare again because the condition my foster came back in turned me off completely. There was another dog shaking while being dropped off and that should have been my sign to leave

Weve always had a great experience boarding and grooming our dogs at Best Friends since it opened in the early 1990s. (Were on our 3rd pet now!) The staff has always been attentive and loving to our dogs and the dogs love to be there. Theyve always been excited whenever we pull into the lot and cant wait to see their friends. The grooming has always been done exactly as we specify (Adriana is the best!) The dogs have always been well treated and any skin conditions addressed. Anytime there was a medical or behavior issue that needed to be raised it was noted on the report card. The only negative is the prices are a bit higher than average, but better than some places weve used.

DO NOT GO HERE!We were clients for over 10+ years with Best Friends - we used both boarding and grooming services. Never had an issue. New owners at White Plains Pet Resort said they have the same groomers. Do not believe them.Last month, our dog had grooming services and ended up with a serious skin infection - cost us $300+ vet visit. Our vet shared it was probably due to sanitary issues at the White Plains Pet. I called and spoke with manager Chris, who said he would investigate. We never heard back from him or the establishment. The place smells when you walk in and my dog did not smell clean after grooming. They lost a really good customer. I was not looking to be compensated more an acknowledgment that this would not happen to other pets.

My husband and I brought our dog here for day camp a few times. Every time we walked in the smell of urine hits you in the face. Our dog came home from day camp every time saturated in urine and so dirty. I let the staff know via email and asked about cleaning protocols. The response I received dodged the question and offered to wipe her down next time. Every time we went I asked for my dog to be taken out twice. When I picked her up, I found out she was never taken out and left to pee in the big room. The staff were always nice but it’s not worth having my pup come home covered in urine and dirty.

The service was absolutely horrible, and especially if your pet is a cat, do NOT send it here. Aside the atrocious smell when you walk in, you can obviously tell they are understaffed and/or not close to passionate about animals. In coming to pick up my cat, we immediately see her soaking wet in her own pee. Somehow the entrance to her litter box was blocked, so fundamentally the entire week she was living in her own feces, and no staff even noticed. Just do not send a living animal that you care for in the least bit to this facility.

So lets start with the fact that I am a long time client of best friends. I have boarded my two beagles with best friends for the last 4 years. One of my dogs has incontinence and takes medicine to control the incontinence. This has been registered with best friends since I started to board my pups 4 years ago. So I made my reservation a week in advance as I usually do and ask if I need anything additional just like I usually do and they said it was all fine. I mention the dates, the medicine, and the group play. They stated it was all fine. Then today when I was going to drop them off (Im going on vacation tomorrow morning) Im told that my pup cant board with them anymore because of the medicine. This is a huge problem as I have to fly our in the morning and have limited options. I asked why I did not get a call in advance or when I made the most recent reservation I was not advised regarding this new policy. I asked to speak to a manager and guess what I was speaking to the person in charge whom is a Manager Intern. This person is not even someone that knows my history with best friends or that might even stay to work there and she only says Im sorry you are right but that is the policy. To not make this any longer Im glad that Pet Smart now has boarding and day camp. They called the Vet and verified everything over the phone and in less than 15 minutes I had a reservation my my pups. Thank you Pet Smart. If you read this and have similar case regarding medicine for your pup call Pet Smart.

We had our dog staying at Best Friends in White Plains for 10 days over the Christmas holiday while we were visiting family out of the country. Ive had dogs my entire life and have never once had problems leaving them in a boarding facility back in Pittsburgh where I used to live. This was the first time leaving our dog since weve moved to White Plains and it was by far the worst possible experience I could have imagined. We took some time out of our vacation to watch the Dog Cam thats available on Best Friends website and we were mortified at what we saw. The caretaker (and I use that word hesitantly) clearly had no experience whatsoever with dogs and had no training on how dogs interact with each other. Every time a dog went up to another dog to smell him/her, the male caretaker that was supervising would barge in between the dogs and forcefully push them apart. On multiple occasions, he threw dogs into timeout for smelling other dogs. I say this not only in defense of my dog, but also in defense of the other dogs that were highly mistreated on the videos we watched. On one occasion, we observed this man picking our dog up by the collar and dragging him to the timeout cage with only 2 legs on the ground. It was clear that our dog was not resisting, yet this man was being overly forceful in leading him to the timeout. On top of that, once he put him in timeout, the man went into the cage with him and again lifted him by his collar and repeatedly pushed him into the wall of the back of the cage. He did this for probably 20-30 seconds before he let our dog down and left the cage. We immediately tried calling Best Friends to let them know what was happening, however we were unable to reach anyone after multiple calls (this was around 2-3pm, so we know people were staffing the facility). This was only one incident and there were many more. There was another incident in which the caretaker pushed our dog into the wall again and repeatedly kneed him into the wall. This was all because he tried to mount a dog once. All the dog needed was a simple correction, he did not need to be kneed into the wall. On multiple occasions we witnessed the caretaker chasing the dogs around with the mop and broom when it was so very clear that the dogs were afraid and were running around with their tails between their legs. After unanswered phone calls on different days, we finally emailed the facility and voiced our complaint. In fairness to the facility, our email was answered very promptly and professionally by a woman named Kelly. She had our dog moved to another play room with a different caretaker and did compensate us for a small portion of our dogs stay. However, this does not make up for the abuse that our dog (and the other dogs) endured. Outside of the facility, the way these dogs were treated would be considered abuse and a person would be fined or jailed for his actions. I asked Kelly to review the video of the cameras for the specific times I gave her, but she informed me that they do not record. So I sent her the video we took on our cellphone and she never responded to us.I do not expect dog boarding facilities to be like the Trump Plaza, but I do expect that dogs are treated humanely. In the case of Best Friends, we witnessed multiple dogs on multiple occasions being treated inhumanely. It is in your best interest, as well as your dogs, to pay a little more money and send your dog elsewhere.

When I picked up my pet, he had not been bathed/groomed due to poor coordination of their services and staff. Also, they forgot to put the collar back on. We had to go back in to get it. Thank god I noticed while I was still in the parking lot. I think I would give them second chance since it’s in a convenient location and they have a comfortable parking lot.

I have to say I like the place for boarding,my dog seems to enjoy it and I like the fact that they have a camera so I can watch them all the time. However this is the worst place for grooming my dog has ever been. My dog was cut once from a buzzer and has been pretty terrified of them ever since and is not normally a slightly aggressive dog. I would expect professional groomers to be able to deal with this. I mean I have a minature schnauzer thats 22 pounds. They now on two occasions shaved his whole entire body and if you know anything about schnauzers they have a very particular haircut. They have now only charge me extra which I would understand if I got the haircut we asked, but they shaved him completely without even giving us a call and letting us know the situation. You can imagine my horror when I went to pick him up and I see my dog is completely shaved. I just dont know if they dont know what a schnauzer haircut looks like which would mean that there are untrained or if they just think hes difficult and shave him everywhere because its faster but is very unprofessional and will never be taking him for a haircut ever again there

We brought our cat along with her bed, scratching mat and two toys to help reduce her anxiety, at the end of her $400 stay we couldnt get any of these items back. No one knows what happened to them. We dont think they were even given to our cat in the first place because Best Friends promised weekly photos but only sent one photo on the very last day, and in the photo NONE of her things were in her cage. These were the most essential items that our cat has lived with since she was adopted a year and a half ago.The only response we could get was sometimes things go through the wash and dont come out. Clearly they were aware that their washing machine destroyed peoples property, yet they continued this practice. At the end of the conversation the manager was blaming us for even bringing anything in the first place because its in the agreement that theyre not responsible for any loss. It seems they get very offended that people expect professionalism when they entrust the care of their pets to this company. We dont know if our cat had been let out of her cage at all in two weeks or how she was treated at any time during her stay. She was withdrawn and lethargic with very low energy since she got back. Now she just kept sniffing and circling the spot on the floor where her bed, scratch mat and toys used to be.

If I have a rare issue or complaint, one of the managers is there to listen and see what they can do. They try to make things great, and they help me with special requests ( bring him next door to vet, last minute grooming, notes on feeding and voiding if needed). Love this place.Anecdotal story, my little guy just got diagnosed with lymphoma. The team was genuinely as upset as me, as he is the OG there. Howie went on chemo, and is in remission and is back with his friends. But this is When I brought him back, it was like a party. Mary Beth, the awesome manager, made sure howie was watched carefully, and Stephanie the ASst mgr was in tears seeing him. Kathleen and Sara feed him his meals I prepare and write notes on his day. Sounds amazing , right? Isn’t this what you want in a dog care center??

If I could give a negative star rating I would. The first time I took my cat here for grooming it turned out well. I wish I could say the same for the next two times. The second time I took my cat here they refused to groom him and charged me $80 to just trim his nails and give him a bath when they charged me $95 for the FULL lion cut the first time. The third experience was even worse. I wanted the lion cut and the nail trim and informed them my cat had sensitive skin. 5 hours after keeping him in his tiny carrier they called me to let me know that they couldnt groom him because the buzzer was cutting his skin. His hair was matted from some medicated ointment I had been using so I knew it would not be easy to groom him. Instead of using a longer buzzer attachment initially, they tried to use a zero and ended up cutting him. After they saw how difficult this was going to be, they gave up. They didnt even bathe him after all that. I took him home and groomed him myself without professional equipment using a regular buzzer and scissors with no issues. This place is outright worthless.

Large facility and indoors only, which for some dogs isn’t great. People are nice here, but I won’t be going back due to poor disclosure of fee policy. We had our dog in for 24hrs and got charged for 2 nights (only 1 night stay) as we picked up a couple hours after their cut-off of 12 noon. Also, on longer stays our dog always comes home very skinny, which is to say he doesn’t get fed enough.

This was the worse grooming experience Ever. My puppys face and ears were still dirty. The fur was very uneven. The excuse was it got dirty after the grooming. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? SO CAN YOU CLEAN IT HER BEFORE YOU PRESENT HER TO ME. She had matted fur on her belly and arms. When I expressed my dissatisfaction with the grooming, the groomer took her and shaved the hair under her eyes very low. There was hair in her eyes. She didnt smell freshly groomed. Dont be fooled by the nice appearance of the building. Some of the dogs were in a huge room defecating all over the floor while the other dogs took a sniff. No wee wee pads. Hirng inexperienced staff and not supervising their work says a lot about this establishment. I only ended up here because my groomer was booked up and we were going away. I will never go back to this place. If I could give 0 stars, I would. My dog seemed very nervous after this ordeal. I could do a much better job grooming my dog. Upset and disappointed.

As soon as I walked in the odor was horrendous .They said we would get updated pictures of the dog and we never received any pictures. When I picked up my dog I found out that the last time they walk the dog is around 6pm and then the dog is not walked again until 7-8 am the next day.So the dog has to hold it in for 13-14 hours.
