Carms Dog House - Cicero

This is the best boarding facility we have ever had our dog stay at. They are kind, provide pictures, and don’t mind when we call to check on her. The staff is friendly and the pricing is fair.

Our new favorite place for nail trims! They were so awesome with my old girl and we’re able to trim her nails to the perfect length. They were super quick and the staff was very friendly! Had to try a box of their dog treats and my old girl loves them too!! Very very happy pup and owner. HIGHLY recommend

Our dog Louie just spent a weekend here, with boarding + daycare. He is a big guy but a but skittish, and this was his first time doing daycare & boarding. So i was nervous. When i picked him up he didnt seem to want to leave.I called after 5 hours of him being there and staff was quick to reassure me that he was doing great. They referred me to a Facebook post featuring their new, happy pup adjusting very well to daycare.They put me at ease and posted all sorts of pictures of Louie having the time of his life throughout his stay.We dont board often but we will be getting him into daycare more often because this place is awesome and he absolutely loves it.

When my dog needed her summer shave, I learned my long time groomer closed her business. It took months trying to find another groomer, waiting for a call back or being on a cancellation waiting list, everywhere I called they were booked out into September or not accepting new pets. Finally, I called Carm’s and explained my situation, they didn’t have anything available at the time of my call however a short moment after they had a cancellation and called me back without me even asking to be put on a waiting list. The appointment was for 2 weeks out and worked perfectly with my work schedule. Already they satisfied my needs. My dog had her grooming appointment today with Allie and I can’t say enough about our experience there. Allie was amazing and my dog happily went with her although meeting her for the fist time (usually my dog has anxiety leaving me with a stranger). Allie listened to my wants and delivered exactly what I asked for. When I returned to pick up my pet, my dog was happy and excited, in the past she’s stressed out and anxious after getting groomed. I am so pleased with Allie from Carm’s that I also scheduled my puppy’s first grooming session with her as well in the near future.

Hey!! I literally never write reviews but Carms is literally the ABSOLUTE best place to go to daycare, board your sweet fur babies or get a cute little cut! My charliebear LOVES Carms and all of their staff. Ive been taking him here for almost 2 years and they remembered us by the 3rd time i called lol. Everyone is so attentive and sweet and always has your best interest as a customer. They have their 3 locations and every single one is beautiful. If youre in the syracuse area or just visiting this is your place to go! They also have a facebook page for every location and post the fur babies everyday (boarding and daycare) I truly recommend carms dog house.(BTW this is a picture they took of my baby...hes SMILING!!!)

Amazing ! Riley from Carm’s was friendly, informative and on time. My husband just had open heart surgery & we were unable to take our dog for a nail trim (90# Lab) - Carm’s fit us right in for a house visit & were great with our dog !! Highly recommend!!!

I have been taking my dog to Carms for more than 10 years. Very trustworthy and takes care of your dogs at all times. Boarding and daycare and grooming services are all highly recommended.

I have taken my extra large dogs for grooming at Carms for a while now and have always been happy with their services. I had my dog groomed yesterday and felt compelled to write a review. She looks so beautiful and is so soft and smells so lovely. She was also very happy when I picked her up and I could tell they were loving her up while she was there. So pleased with Carms and would highly recommend their grooming services!

Ive had nothing but great experiences at Carms. From daycare to grooming to just the overall excellent customer service. Ive also had the opportunity to meet the owner a few times and hes a great guy.

My wife and I boarded our two dogs for just under 24 hours. Dropped off on a Saturday afternoon, and picked up Sunday. Our bill had two line items, boarding without daycare, Qty 1 day, and the second line item, Qty 2. We were charged an extra $25 per dog, for the second day. When I asked what the charge would have been if Id picked up the moment they open in the morning, I was told exactly the same, 1 .5 days. This was my first time booking here and wasnt something that was made clear. We will not be using again. Each line item on the bill was inconsistent with the previous, and not clear, or reasonably intuitive. The only real explanation I got is that Carm charges by the day, not the night, or hour. I would expect a line item that says boarding without daycare would be enough to distinguish between those expecting to pay for one night, and those who drop off your dogs during the day, and pick up later that same day. - Not two days. (Sunday was half off because I picked up before 1pm. I believe they close at 2)Lets be clear. My issue with Carms is that: 1. Being new, it was not made clear, ahead of time, what we were going to be charged, and why. 2. The bill we received was not intuitive or clear about what we had been charged. (Even after having it explained, and giving the business a chance to make it right, other than explaining, what the bill meant, along with, this is just how we do it.) If any of this had been alluded to, directly, before we booked, we would not have booked. - What intuitively is one night, at any other place Ive ever kenneled my dogs at, is, at Carms, double. (With the exception of Sundays being half off because they close early)

My girl Sadie just about jumps through the door when we pull up to go inside. She is greeted with love every morning I drop her off. The pictures everyday show how much fun they are all having. Highly recommend!!

Carmen and all of his enterprises are slums. The owner is as repulsive and repugnent as Doug Waterbury. Please dont bring your pets here. Theyre grooming practices are abhorrent.

We totally trust Carms with pur babies. They have always taken really good care of them. The dogs come back tired and happy.

We have boarded our two dogs at Carms in Cicero 2x this year and I couldnt be happier with their service! The employees are all great with our furry family members and take care of them like they are their own! Our pups love playing with the other dogs and splashing in the pool! They take pics everyday and post them and you can see how much fun they are having. Carm is a great gut and always accommodating! We have also used their wash and go and nail clipping service..always clean and efficient. Highly recommend using them for ANY of their services!

My puppy loves it here. They take such good care of all their animals. Weve done boarding and daycare. Usually daycare once or twice a week.

Both my dogs love going to Carm’s. The staff is all wonderful and know the preferences of both girls and cater to them. They spoil my dogs perfectly and the girls have a blast. We use both boarding and daycare services and have been delighted with both. They make grabbing food and treats easy too so I don’t have to go to another store. Prices are competitive and the service is truly stellar.

Left our pup at Carms for a week. Was so worried about him after a not great experience with another kennel. They were super professional, have him some drops for an ear infection he had just been diagnosed with. Gave him a bath and a beautiful blowout and texted the person picking him up with details of his stay. Would highly recommend and will definitely be using them again.

Absolutely love Carm’s dog house! It is definitely the best place in the Cicero area for your dog, they have a great staff that is always very welcoming and friendly, it is absolutely amazing that they love my dog like I do so I never have to worry about her when she’s at day care! Their boarding staff always takes the best care of her when I’m away, it’s very reassuring knowing that she’s having a great time while I’m on vacation, I’ve also recently taken advantage of their grooming services and my dog has never looked or smelled better! I will never go anywhere else when it comes to my pup and I 100% recommended that you give Carm’s dog house in Cicero a try!

First time bringing my newly adopted dog to be groomed. Not very happy with the results of how this young lady groomed a wire haired terrier. Patches taken out on legs, uneven trim around face and tail! Also I would not have chopped off his beautiful mane going down his back! Now just praying it doesn’t grow back as bad as it looks now!Will not be returning!

Wonderful place for Doggie Daycare. The staff truly has the dogs happiness on their minds. My dog is always happy to go there and the Staff is ready to see him as well. Makes me feel good to leave him in caring hands. Highly recommend them if you are looking for a quality Dog daycare.

As someone who works in the veterinary field, I consider myself a tough customer to please. Carm’s exceeds my expectations (which are already high) & I love this place! Heidi and staff are excellent. I drive an hour to bring my dogs here because I trust Carm’s and staff. My large breed dogs smell AMAZING when I pick them up and I can always tell they’ve gotten full service baths (ears, anal glands, nails, etc).

I took my dog to Carm’s Dog House to be groomed after a friend had recommended them. I normally take my dog elsewhere to be groomed but I was willing to try a new place. My dog is 3 and she is a lab mix. We adopted her three years ago and I called to ask a lot of questions before making her appointment because she does not like kennels and has horrible separation anxiety. I was told when you book an appointment for grooming the dog would get in right away at that time and they would call when she was done. No need for a kennel. I booked the appointment and was excited to try a new place.When I got to Carm’s the woman at the front desk had zero personality and was not friendly at all. Not very welcoming for your first time somewhere. Another woman came from behind the counter and commented that my dog was beautiful. I said thank you. No introduction or “hi, my name is blah, I’m going to groom your dog today.” She took my dog back and I explained that I would be waiting in my car in the parking lot and to call when she was done. I was reassured that I would get a call when they were done.I got a call about an hour later and there was nothing but static on the phone. I couldn’t hear anything but assumed it was Carm’s calling since it was a Cicero number. I called Carm’s back and asked if my dog was ready. I was told “I don’t know. Did the groomer call you?” I said I couldn’t hear anything and I assuming it was a call from there. The woman on the phone was very rude.I walked back into Carm’s and again the same woman at the front desk with zero personality and professionalism was there. Basically, I was given my total and asked how I was paying. After I paid, they went and got my dog in the back. She was still damp and her coat wasn’t even brushed. She had visible clumps of dog hair all over her. Who does grooming services without brushing the dogs coat? I ended up paying $50 and then taking my dog home and brushing her myself. When I got my dog back she was visibly shaking and not herself. She seemed very nervous and wanted to get out of there fast. Much different experience than our normal groomer.Overall, I am very disappointed and will not be taking my dog back to Carm’s Dog House. I would not recommend this place to anyone. You would think being a first time customer they would want to greet you a little nicer. Not only was the woman at the front desk cold and unpleasant, I got a wet, hairy dog in return. I’ll go back to our normal place and spend double the money for a much better experience for my dog and myself.

Our dog had to have surgery 3 days before she was being boarded. We took her to Carms Dog House. While we were gone, they took very good care of our little one! We also love that the dogs get to play with other dogs. They even post pictures of your little ones for you to see while you are gone. Weve talked to many people that use the daycare and boarding services. I have never heard anyone speak badly of Carms. We truly love and trust the crew at Carms!

I love this place! I can tell they really care about the pups. I just recently took my dog for a grooming and he came back looking and smelling so good. My dog is very fearful of strangers both Heidi and Meghan were great with my dog and helped make him feel more at ease. I really appreciate their patience with him. I will definitely be back.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. Ill be taking my dog there for grooming. After that Ill post an update.UPDATE: I took Teddy in for grooming today and WOW! He spent time playing with other dogs and getting the social interaction he needed, plus he was groomed. Hes tired out, which is good, and looks a LOT better after being groomed. I wish I had taken a before and after pictures but I didnt think of it. I am very happy with Carms and will be taking Teddy there from now on!

My pup loves to go to daycare here. She’s excited to get there and see her dog and people friends. Staff at the front desk are courteous as are those with the dogs that bring out your tired pet at pick up! She’s stayed for boarding and will stay again when I need to get away.

My Pup Rana always has a good time here and its a nice break for me as well! Helps me get the house chores done while pup gets to play with friends. I like the staff they are always friendly and reassuring that your pet will be cared for. Your service is greatly appreciated 👍

My dog loves going to Carm’s for the day. She’s a little, 7lbs. She is always excited to go see her friends and absolutely LOVES Jen & Mary!! Her groomer Candice is fantastic. She plays all day then some ‘spa’ time with Candice. I think my little Eloise is living her best life!!

My new adopted pup loves it here and comes home exhausted from playing every time she goes. Every single person Ive met or talked to here, from the initial phone call to the tour to daily drop off and pick-up, have been so friendly and genuinely happy to see my girl every day. I love that my dog gets to socialize with other dogs, and gets lots of love and exercise when I cannot be with her.

When your dog and a daycare staff person recognize each other in public and go in for kisses and pets, you know its a great place! 🥰. I never thought Id be the type of person who brings their dog to daycare, but even a few hours once or twice a week is enough to leave me with a calm, happy, well-socialized puppy. Even walking her once or twice a day cant stimulate her the way playing other with dogs can. Now all I have to ask is do you want to go see your friends? and dog heads straight for the door, we drive over and shes out of the car and heading toward the back faster than the receiver can take her leash from me.

My dog absolutely loves going to Carms. She is a rescue so we really werent sure how she was going to do. Now when we take her there she runs up to the staff and just goes in the back with them, doesnt even turn around to say bye! We have dropped her for daycare, boarded her when we have gone on vacation, and she gets groomed there too. The prices are extremely reasonable and I know she is in great hands. I can also see pictures of her posted daily on their Facebook page. Highly recommend Carms!!

Wonderful spot for my dog .. he is beyond excited when I turn the corner. Everyone is pleasant and obviously enjoy their job.

I received horrible service from several of the employees of Carms Dog House this past week.the first issue at hand was the cut. when we brought her home that day she was not in as good of a mood as normal, did not have the scarf or bow-tie they used to put on, and had her face completely shaved down including her snout and whiskers. my family was not happy with the overall cut we received, including the lack of whiskers.the second issue at hand was how their employees responded when i made a post about my dissatisfaction of the cut we received. instead of being apologetic for how we felt about the cut we received, i was called dramatic, uneducated, etc by the groomer Candice Rowland. she took it upon herself to comment from her personal Facebook about my experience with the company she worked for. on top of that, she must have told her grooming friends about my post because a couple hours later I was bombarded with harassing comments from other dog groomers and their friends. instead of saying sorry that we had a bad experience they scrutinized a bullied me for not liking how the cut came out.I do not recommend this place, very unprofessional customer service.

I enjoy Carm’s service where you can bathe your dog in their tub. They offer shampoos, towels, and a dryer as well. It’s very convenient for someone who has a dog that isn’t the right type to groom, but can’t fit in the bathtub at home! Always pleasant people working as well!

We absolutely love Carms dog house!! Friendly and clean! We bring our dog to daycare weekly. We have never had a issue with daycare or boarding services. We get a tired dog after the day is done and that makes it worth every cent!

Our dog is elderly and very skittish so when we had to change boarders I was having a hard time finding a place. I’m not going to say she loves it here because she never has loved being boarded, but she doesn’t get so anxious that she starts rubbing her nose off against the cage so they must be doing something right. Definitely would recommend.

Carms is fantastic! Ive been bringing my dog there since they were in their first location, years ago. They take wonderful care of my dog and the staff is always professional and friendly. The facility is clean, spacious and my dog loves it there!

I have never been to carm’s but let me tell you about their staff... HOW UNPROFESSIONAL!! A friend posted that she is dissatisfied on her personal Facebook and their groomers are attacking her, making rude comments, and mocking her. She is upset and this is how it’s handled? I will never set foot in this business nor recommend them to anyone. Train your staff better, especially on professionalism. Absolutely uncalled for and flat out mean. Bad business for sure.

Very friendly, knowledgeable, professional staff.. great price and the mobile grooming is super convenient. I have a shar pei, not the easiest dog to groom but they do the full groom/nails/ears/etc in a reasonable amount of time but its obvious how thorough they are. Very pleased with this company and will continue to use and recommend.

Very happy with Carms for boarding. Our dog always comes back clean and happy. He gets to play with other dogs while hes there, too. Unlike many kennels, they have customer-friendly hours and policies.

The way that these employees acted towards a dissatisfied customer on social media was disgusting, tasteless and UNPROFESSIONAL. A friend of mine went to get her dog trimmed and they cut her whiskers, which was not requested. The employees thought it would be a good idea to tell her a million times that it’s not going to hurt the dog and that the whiskers grow back. They also decided she should be “educated” on the whisker cutting situation, even though the customer repeated herself several times, stating that it was not a requested cut. This company’s employees need a serious attitude check. If you can’t handle criticism of your business, don’t have your own business. I’m glad other people seem to have had good experiences, but the point in case was the lack of professionalism and blatant bullying on social media to a dissatisfied customer. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Amazing experience and so happy we found Carms to take care of our Sonny! Its very scary to leave your dog with someone else and to know they are truly taken care of is such a relief. Fantastic all around! Dont let the rating influence your decision - this business owner was a victim of false lies when an uninformed pet owner accused Carms of abusing their dog while in his care - however this was found to be TOTALLY false. The dog was actually hit by a car under the owners care, and they never even realized it until someone showed them a video of it happening in front of their own home, but blamed Carms for the abuse. Since this went viral on facebook, it damaged the reputation and rating. Lets bring Carms back to the 5 star rating hes worth!

Candace did a great job on my two senior rescues, being sensitive to their health issues. I am really appreciative.

Elsa loves going to Carms to get bathed she comes home smelling so good. She also loves playing with all the other dogs while she waits her turn to be pampered. We wouldnt go anywhere else!! The wash and go station is amazing as well!!!

We board our lab retriever, champagne at Carms. She loves playing in the day care when she goes and is exhausted for a few days after. The staff always remembers her when we walk through the door and its clear they love the animals they care for.As an additional note, many 1 star reviews are claiming that carms abuses animals due to a picture surfacing of a dog with burn marks and a broken leg shortly after a grooming session. The owner claimed carms was responsible but video surfaced of the dog being hit by a vehicle an hour after carms had returned the dog to the family. It turns out a family member had let the dog outside off leash which led to the dog being hit. The family member lied about what happened leading to the accusation. The owner has since apologized and retracted the accusation after seeing the video and the family member admitting they lied to him. I have reported all of the false reviews I could, but do not know if Google will remove them, so wanted to include the actual events in my review so people can make an appropriate judgment when choosing a daycare. I still recommend Carms to everyone I can and hope others choose them as well!!

Take my lab puppy here for nail trims. They are always friendly and quick and do a great job. Might consider doggy day care and boarding as an option here in near future.

My dogs went to the facility and were there 3 hours and came down with severe kennel cough and it cost me a fortune to take them to the vet and get treated. I will only use their mobile service now. I have no complaints about their mobile service.

Im so beyond frustrated. we brought our long haired sheltie in for a trim, we told the groomer to clean him up. The groomer asked if we wanted half his length cut off. We said no not even close just trim. We went to pick him up and they clipper cut his entire outer coat off, choppy at that. When we called to complain the manager told us that we specifically told the groomer to cut half his hair off. We specifically told her not to! We were told we could britng him in to have it evened out, as if he needed more length cut off! We called our normal groomer to ask and were told theres a chance at his age that his outer coat might not grow back correctly if at all.. I dont think the groomer has any experience at all. Google image search a sheltie, why in the world would you clipper cut a long haired dog.

My dog loves it she gets so excited when she walks in ans sees the people that work there they are so nice and the place is alwas cleen. They take the dogs for walks will give then baths cut there hair and nails and there is also a pool for the dogs

I emailed them twice in the past 3 weeks inquiring about their mobile services prices for my 3 dogs. No one ever got back to me.

I am new to the Syracuse area. I visited several boarding places before I picked Carms. They were professional and caring from the first phone call. My 2 dogs stayed for 3 nights and did day care....they were well taken care of and came home happy. I will leave them there again.. Thank you Carms.

Our dog stayed for 2 nights 2 weeks ago. ( 8/11-81/13/2021) He reeked of urine when we picked him up and was SO stressed out. All his belongings were covered in urine and wet still. He didn’t act normal for a day and half after we picked him up. He was doing this thing where he kept rubbing at his eye. Also, the staff isn’t the friendliest. We already had him booked for the weekend after. Needless to say we did not bring him back.Last weekend we went away for a couple nights and brought him SOMEWHERE ELSE, it didn’t smell when you walk in the door like Carm’s. We received video updates of our dog and he was happy, clean and healthy when we picked him up.

Carms grooming has provided our dog grooming service for several years and though the service for our pet is generally good, the customer experience is horrible. Though over the course of time there has never been an issue with payment Carms cancelled an appointment today because the service was not paid in advance. When I returned home today at the time of the appointment there was a message on my answer machine to call their office and at that point I was told the appointment was cancelled because it wasnt prepaid. After waiting a month to get the appointment and then to have it canceled I asked to speak to the manager. The manager explained they do not take checks or credit cards on site when doing mobile grooming. The only way to pay is either by cash or to call their office and provide the card information over the phone ( which is when someone answers the phone in their office how we pay). She then indicated that they called (when I was not there) to collect payment by credit card in advance and when no one returned their call they canceled. When asked her why when there has never been an issue with getting paid would they cancel she hung up on me. Clearly a company that does understand customer service in any manner what so ever. Frankly not feeling like a valued customer, certainly hope they treat the pets better than they do the people they serve.

The crew at Carms always takes great care of my pup Diesel like he is one of their own. I have had him there for up to 10 days for boarding/daycare while I was away and he always comes home looking happy, healthy and exhausted from days of play with the other dogs!

Great place. Friendly people, easy drop off/pick up and on top of billing. My pup loves it here and is totally exhausted by the end of the day!

We have been bringing our Miniature Schnauzer AJ to Carms Dog House for grooming and doggy daycare for over 2 years. They treat him (and all their furry clients) with nothing but love. They always show excitement when our dog comes in and know him by name. I fully trust Carms to take care of my furbaby and know that he truly enjoys his time there.I noticed there were some bad reviews posted recently after Carms was falsely accused of injuring someones dog. The owner of the dog has since apologized for the post, admitting that it was a mistake. Carms was not responsible for this dogs injuries, and I hope the dog gets the medical attention it needs.
