Sweet Paws Pet Grooming and Boarding

One word describes this place…AWESOME!Our dog is a huge part of our family, and we finally found a boarding facility that we are 100% comfortable bringing him to. Caleb, and the rest of the staff at Sweet Paws are absolutely wonderful! The facility is clean, comfortable and safe. The dogs don’t have to be subjected to large groups like we’ve experienced at other places. The one on one care that the dogs receive at Sweet Paws is what attracted us the most. When coming to pick up Brody, I actually “caught” Caleb sitting on the floor with Brody on his lap, just talking to him, and loving on him. The fact that the dogs don’t just get left in their suite alone all day is very important to us. Brody is a very social dog, and craves human contact (which he gets lots of at Sweet Paws). The other great thing is the constant communication that we received from the staff, that included updates of his day, and numerous photos!We would give this business a 10/10 for boarding your dog. Even though they are in business to be profitable, their main focus is on quality care for the dogs that are entrusted to their care!!Attached are just a few of the photos we received during Brody’s last stay.

My German shepherd has boarded here twice and is now our go to spot when our regular dog sitter isn’t available. It’s a relief to know she will be loved and taken care of! Caleb was super flexible when I mixed up drop off times and always great at communicating and sending updates! She probably has more fun here than she does at home hahaShe also had a bath at her last visit and looked like a brand new dog! After a bad experience at another local boarding facility, I’m so happy to have found a reliable place for our girl!

We boarded our dog here for a few days while we were out of town. We loved the text updates and pictures that we got everyday, our dog seemed to be having a wonderful time! She got plenty of walks, playtime, cuddles and attention! They took care of her as she was theirs, you can tell they love what they do here! We will definitely be back as this has become our new go to place for boarding!

Today was my cat Stars first appointment since I adopted her. I quickly snapped some photos of her before and another when she got back. Chelsea really made her look like a star. She even cleaned her ears and trimmed her nails. Star was nervous so she got a waterless bath instead which I really liked. Star smelled so good when she came out. 10/10 recommend. We rebooked our next appointment before we left. They even have a special room to groom cats to make them even more comfortable.

We traveled from Colorado and had our 3 dogs stay 2 night. Our dogs were well cared for, we received updates, and the staff were very pleasant. Thank you for taking such great care of Hermes, Willow, and Trevor.

Very good first boarding experience for my young dog. She came home safe, happy, and healthy, and it seems she appreciated the hands-on attention given. So glad for this option when I needed it.

Took my persian 6 month old cat to be groomed and cut and when i picked him up he looked AWFUL. Was charged 100.00 and his haircut was awful. The owner offered for me to bring him back so she can fix him but there was no way i was going to bring him back. This was my first experience with this shop and i didnt ask for anything unreasonable as far as his cut, he was unevenly shaved on his belly and his face was unevenly cut and he looks ridiculous. Make sure you ask for a groomer thats EXPERIENCED in cat cuts... 🤦🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️

First time ever needing to have a cat groomed. They did a great job. Were quick and friendly. Little Lydia the cat scares easy, but was fine afterwards and showed no signs of trauma. That tells me they treated her good. Thanks Kelly! We will come back and see you when needed.

Groomers here are very attentive to the dogs and cats to ensure they have the best service possible. Your pets are in very good hands when brought here. They now have 6 groomers on staff with one of them also being a licensed trainer. Here is a pic of our 2 Sheepdogs and our cat that we have groomed at Shear Love.

Just tried this place out for the first time after reading the good reviews. We brought our 5 month old poodle mix there for her first hair cut and they did an amazing job!

Shear love made it very easy to get an appointment. They were extremely accommodating and made my dog feel very comfortable. She was actually smiling at the end of her appointment.

This is the place to take your fur-baby in Cicero! We have had our dog both groomed and boarded here. They go above and beyond. Staff is so nice and accommodating. Highly recommend!!

Darian did such a great job bathing and brushing our very heavy shedding chocolate lab! After Sweet Paws she is so shiny, smells great, and has a beautiful bandana. So happy our puppy was in great hands and she did such a thorough job!

Ive been taking my sweet boy Casey to Chelsea at Shear Love Pet Grooming for three years now! Its always a great experience, as a newer owner of a dog with more high maintenance grooming needs they have been wonderful to me and helped me make things easier on my pup.. I also want to give a shout out to Stephanie who I have done a CGC as well as some other classes with. She truly cares about her clients and honestly, my dog is just in love with her! 5 out 5 stars every time at Shear Love!

I brought my kitty, Nox, here for his first grooming today after calling this morning and being told they could get us in during a cancellation. He and I were both a little anxious, but Kelly was super sweet and calming. When I came back about 45 minutes later, I was told that he had been good for his appointment.Noxie had a bath and brush service which included his nails, ears, and grooming. He smells so good and has been super relaxed since we got home!Thank you for fitting him in and doing such a good job with my baby!

Brought my one year old German Shepherd in for some pampering for her birthday - Annemarie did great!!!!!!! I myself have allergies to certain ingredients in dog shampoos that can trigger my asthma, and she assured me that they had different options that wouldnt bother me. My 67 lb lap dog was with her for less than an hour, and came out even more beautiful than before, plus with a little accessory for her celebratory day! She smells great, super shiny and soft coat, and I did not have allergic reaction when cuddling her after! I will 100% be going back!!! Thank you Annemarie!

Ive been taking my dog there for a couple of years and loved Koryn, and Anita. I let my dog get pretty shaggy and long so the last three times hes had to be shaved down. O give it three stars because it seems there is no attempt to make him look cute. He always looks like a big rat. He used to at least have fluffy legs and chest. They are super nice and friendly and my two friends who are better about regular appointments love how their dogs look.

Chelsea does a great job on our pets and they love seeing her! We have long haired and short haired dogs and both come out looking great! Never have any problems and shes awesome at getting them in for appointments.Ted and Bebe are always happy!

Took my Akita for her first groom and they did an amazing job! They got all of her shedding coat out and she is so soft. She had a great time as you can tell by her smile 😁.

I absolutely love the groomers here, they do amazing work. My Shiba Inu Soralina has sensitive skin and they are able to use gentle products & techniques that left her fur the softest and healthiest it has ever been. Sometimes they put flowers and bows on the dogs, a lovely little treat for the eyes!

Holly was great! Listened to everything I commented on and my boy barely wanted to leave her when it was time to pick him up. He smelled and looked great, will be coming back again.

My Ollie loves going here and looks like a million bucks when he walks out of there. MJ does a great job with him.

I highly recommend this grooming facility. They are very attentive and caring to the pets brought in and their work is top notch. Ive been going to see Shelley for years as she grew and developed her business. Now she is joined with other groomers with the same caring attitude as her. Shear Love is located in the Aldis Plaza in Cicero.

I used to be a bather/groomer trainee before switching career paths recently, so when we moved to the area it was especially important to find a quality groomer and I had a good understanding on what to look for and what to avoid. Shear Love seemed to check every box I wanted.I was also pleasantly surprised they had ANY availability before holidays when I called, so good on them for having their scheduling together! I know that was an especially challenging part of the job- sometimes my clients had to schedule out over a month early to get a spot around holiday time.Anyways, the visit- About a month ago, I brought my dog in for his first full haircut and first time being bathed by not me. I wish I was able to pick him up to talk to our groomer myself about how he did and so on, but I was busy and my partner had to get him instead. Of course, he didnt really ask anything about it, lol typical husband behavior. But, the groom overall looked great and he smelled good afterwards. He was very handsome in his tie! There was one spot near his butt that I think couldve been a bit better, but knowing my boy, he probably was trying to sit on the shears or was wiggling his butt too much lolWe will be back when Gojira needs another cut or bath! :)

They always do a great job with our Wheaton terrier. Shes pretty skiddish and shy but doesnt mind visiting Shear Love. They take good care of her and she always looks extra cute after a good trim.

I brought my dog, Scotty for the first time today and Annmarie is absolutely wonderful! Scotty’s haircut is so cute and he adores her! Thank you so much for making my baby and myself comfortable! I will be bringing Scotty in for all of his future grooming!

10/10 Would Recommend.......I have been going to Shear Love for a little over a year now and have almost always worked with Kelly who is fantastic! She understands my dogs hyper demeanor and has always treated my dog with kindness even when he is trying to hump her during a nail trim ;-) (sorry Kelly!)....I recently had an incident there with another groomer (Stephanie) cutting my dogs nails too short causing him to bleed. At first I wasnt understanding of the situation and was very upset because he bled all over my car but they made the situation better. I called saying he was bleeding and they offered my advice on how to stop the bleeding which worked immediately! Stephanie also called me a couple of hours later to check in on my dog Patch and make sure he is okay. I still felt a little disgruntled because I am an over protective mommy but I received a really warm and understanding phone call from the owner Todd who further apologized for what happened and absolutely made the situation better - That is EXCELLENT customer service. Thank you Shear Love!

It’s everything you want for your pet! The staff are great, and the humans can shop in the plaza while they wait as they will have extra cash as the prices are best I’ve seen in a long time!

I love how Kelly dors exactly what I ask in grooming Abby. Abbys a rescue and very timid so I ask her not to do certain things that I know Abby isnt comfortable with and Kelly always complies! First groomer Ive been really happy with. Even though Abbys still skittish, I know shes getting loving care! 💕❤️💕

I brought my 4 year old shepherd/husky mix for nails, ears, shampoo, and deshedding. Outstanding people and couldn’t be happier with how my Calvin turned out. Seriously, this is the place to go. Thank you guys we’ll for sure be back.

Great my dog buddy is a eighty pound pitbull and they are great with him stephinie is my go to. But for a nail trim anyone in the shear love pet grooming is great . I dont go anywhere else. Been going for year and a half.

Fantastic! Im 91 years old, on oxygen and cant walk too far because of my back. They came out to my car and picked Boomer up. When I picked him up they brought him out to the car.

Great customer service and phenomenal work on on dogs!! They cleaned my friends pet and we left happy including the dog. The staff is very polite and respectful of every one.

We take our cat named Bob to get his nails clipped here all the time. I call and leave message, if they are busy with other kids they always call back.

I have a netherland dwarf bunny whose claws were very overgrown. They took care of us quickly and easily. Im a regular now!

I’m not sure what was done to my German Shepherd when my sister brought him there but he was depressed after he came out of that groomers. He wouldn’t even eat after he came back from that place. He was adopted and he may bark but he is harmless. This is upsetting
