In all 4 of training for my yorkiechon whos 4 months old. Shes doing amazing and loves the play time she gets with the other puppies. I love the teachers and assistance there plus everyone seems to get along fine and I love that for the pups and everyone included. Cant wait to bring my 5yr old yorkiepoodle

John and Lisa are fantastic people and excellent trainers! Our dog Fin had been through several other obedience classes before with very limited improvement. Before dog educated we thought he would never lay down. He was laying down by the second class! and now loves to show off his skills. We worked on not jumping up when greeting, loose leash walking and lots of door work. With a limited class size Finn got the attention he needed. I highly recommend Dog Educated!

My sweet Freddie on the right finished his puppy class recently and is now starting the intermediate class. He absolutely loves coming to his classes and the socialization at his age is priceless. He loves meeting new people and has a few puppy friends in the classes. I know that with Lisas training and guidance, hell grow up to be a happy and well adjusted boy.

I did the puppy kindergarten class. Wonderful group of trainers who really know their stuff, and seemed to honestly care about my pups well being and development. Pretty quick paced; as a new dog owner I was getting a little confused at first, but they help you though the steps, and soon myself and my 8 yo, were training like champs. Will probably move on to the intermediate class. Really like it there.

Lisa and John provide a strong foundation helping develop a positive relationship between pet and human. They make it fun and informative for both the people and pets.

I cant say enough about Lisa and her team! She was very patient with our puppy who is going through some resource guarding and body handling challenges. She took the time to really explain the process and how to execute the training in detailed steps. She provided very detailed notes and plans that made it even easier for us to work on everything at home. She is very responsive to emails and takes the time to answer questions and concerns.I really REALLY like that she is all about POSITIVE reinforcement. No shock collars, pinch/choke collars, negative corrections of any kind. She has the education and certification to back the training and advice she provides. I HIGHLY recommend Dog Educated for any dog training.I look forward to continuing working with Lisa and her team for our pups education so that he can be the best dog ever.

I actually started my bulldog puppy at another local facility. It was evident very quickly that my puppy was a little more than they wanted to deal with. My vet recommended Lisa at dog educated. After going to the first class I knew that this was the place for us.Lisa is not only great at training dogs but does equally as well with the owners. Your learning right along with your pup. It’s also done in a fun and informative environment.Having Labs in the past I didn’t fully understand what the norm was for the bully breed. Lisa has given me so much information. My rambunctious little puppy is well on his way to being an obedient dog and a great friend.Lisa truly has a gift. She is amazing at what she does and an obvious passion for it. 6 weeks ago, my rambunctious one year old Yorkie (with the worlds shortest attention span) and I began the Basics class with Lisa at Dog Educated. I had few (any?) expectations going in. Never in my wildest dreams did I think my pup would excel the way he did; the way every dog in our class of five all excelled! Five different dogs, five different personalities, five different families, five different backgrounds. DE classes are structured in a way that your dog WILL be successful. This is not your typical training. The small class size provides for Lisa to have a lot of one on one time with you and your dog. This is a fun class for you and your pup. Because your dog WILL succeed each week, you look forward to the next week!! At graduation, my juvenile Yorkie who six weeks prior lacked in impulse control, focus and responding was now in a down stay; not tempted by the treats inches from his nose; not distracted by the activity going on around him and responding to me and looking to me for guidance.Lisa and her staff were fantastic to work with. Personable, fun, knowledgeable and its evident they are loving what they do. We cant wait for OUR education to continue with Dog Educated.

We brought our loveable maniac puppy to Dog Educated Group Classes and got fantastic results - these classes offer much more than sit, stay and come. The classes really helped our dog become socialized and Lisa is so full of knowledge and gives the best pointers! Our Dog was Educated!

Im from Rochester and while visiting I got the wonderful opportunity of observing one of Lisa and Johns puppy classes. Theyre an amazing team and make the class fun for people and their pups. I recommend all family and friends go to them for their training needs. Simply the best!

We so enjoyed both puppy kindergarten 1 and then Lisa generously fitting us into the puppy 2 class with our dog Linus! He is very energetic, curious, with some guarding as we figured out. He started the class at a young age until 6 months now. Were thankful for the multiple different aspects from down, stay, to recalls that we learned to keep our pup safe. It was great to see him grow through the play sessions and how those interactions were emphasized and explained throughout each class.Lisa and her staff are very compassionate and knowledgeable on all fronts with explaining the theories behind each method and even working one on one on specific issues. Never did I feel that Linus was too much for them or distracting in any way. I even emailed/messaged Lisa late one night after a guarding experience not expecting an answer, but instead, woke up to a reassuring response with different resources for us to use. She has gone above and beyond! Lisa starts off with an information session going over everything for the parents and her knowledge and relatable personality really made me feel comfortable, knowing Linus was a hard player and also a big pup! Each staff member is passionate and servant-minded, as Lisa is available at each class (a great time commitment) as well as having additional staff (2-3 extra) per class to aid. I am thankful that we started the basics and then Dog Educated provides the next steps for you to continue working on the skills in your home environment. We cant say enough about our work with Elissa Orlando. She worked with us weekly in 1:1 training sessions with our new puppy. While we had read a number of books and articles about dog training prior to getting our puppy, we still felt under-prepared when he arrived. Elissa was so helpful in modeling training exercises, providing us feedback, and giving us 1-2 skills to work on each week so we did not feel overwhelmed. Our daughter, who was initially nervous around dogs, grew so much in her confidence because of our work with Elissa. We are so grateful to Elissa for her kind, patient approach and strong training skillset- we give her our highest recommendation!

From our first day at Puppy Kindergarten with our rescue, Nola, we quickly knew that the training that was to follow would be well worth the while. In an area ripe with either trainers who use abusive and outdated training methods or trainers who simply dont have enough knowledge to be truly helpful, Lisa and John are a breath of fresh air. Being formally educated is extremely important and it shows in the efficiency of their work. It shows in their results. They have greatly helped our rescue dogs for a couple years now and we are so thankful to have them as a resource. We wouldnt recommend anyone else!

I can not say enough good about the training we (my dog and me!) have had with Dog Educated! I have two rescues with various issues. The hardest thing was getting my 7 year old sharpei/greyhound/chow/etc. mix Sherman, to the vet without it being extremely stressful for all involved. His fear made it very hard for anyone to touch him or for him to even enter the building. With Lisa we worked on making it a positive experience. Her patience, expertise and encouragement got us to the point where Sherman was examined and got a shot with no adverse behavior. I can not thank Lisa enough! I have learned that training rescues with questionable and quite possibly abusive backgrounds is not a one and done. I will be working with these pups their whole lives and fortunately Dog Educated has given me the tools to do so. Lisa is always available and responsive whenever I reach out with a question or concern. Thank you Dog Educated!

We had a great experience enrolling our 4 month old puppy in Kindergarten here. John and Lisa gave us and our puppy simple, easy, and effective skillset based on rewards and positive reinforcement. If we ever get the crazy notion to adopt another puppy we absolutely will enroll him in Dog Educateds Kindergarten again!

Great trainers but terrible communication. Do not reply to emails or phone calls. We were told there would be a puppy kindergarten 2 and would be noticed. Over a month went by with nothing so I emailed Lisa again. I received no response and now my puppy is getting too old for puppy kindergarten 2 and we missed out to have him join with other trainers in the area. We are extremely disappointed and do not recommend dog educated.

I would first like to stress that this is not a review of Dog Educated’s training skills. I’m sure they are wonderful trainers based on all the glowing reviews and a personal recommendation I received. However, I can’t say that from personal experience as I have tried contacting them for over a month to simply set up an appointment for my dog, never got a clear answer, and then was simply ignored.On 4/30, I sent my first inquiry through their form on their website and got a response within a few hours. I was quite excited as Lisa detailed how we could approach my dog’s behaviors, and if I was interested to give her my availability. I responded within 20 minutes confirming my interest and provided my availability.A week went by with no response.On 5/6, I followed up with another e-mail. Again, Lisa responded promptly (and did apologize for the delayed response) offering one appointment in the near future, but otherwise she was booking out mid-June. The same day, I let her know I’d be out of town on the one day, but I was very interested in scheduling a time in June.Another week went by, no response.On 5/14, I sent another follow up, asking if there was a better way to contact her to set up an appointment. I also offered my cell number if it was easier to chat about it.No response.Around 5/20, I called the business number and left a message, again leaving my cell with a request to call me back.No response.Finally, on 5/29 I sent another e-mail expressing how disappointed I was in not being able to get in touch simply to make an appointment, and that I would be moving on with another trainer.It’s been a week, and I have yet to receive a response with an explanation or an apology.This has been a hugely frustrating experience. I was really excited to work with Lisa as I have heard nothing but good things, but I can’t imagine giving my business to someone who simply cannot be bothered. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect my business to matter. If I had gotten a timely response, I could have had my first appointment scheduled in a couple weeks.If you are too busy at the moment to take on more clients (or something else is going on), then say so. I would have appreciated being notified and would have respected the heads-up. But to repeatedly ignore a potential client speaks of poor communication skills and even poorer business practices. Frankly, Im left wondering how any of their clients actually made appointments?Like I said, they are probably amazing trainers. But I’ll never know.

I cant really comment on their skills.I never had the opportunity to work with them. Responding to potential customer ......multiple customer inquiries seem to be their weakest area as a business. i am really happy if they are busy and doing well, but their customer response etiquette doesnt exist. For every person you ignore, there are at least 20 referrals you wont get. Overtime that will destroy a business. I have noticed that this issue appears to be the same for other people rating them. So you obviously are technically equipped to help dogs, you really need to figure out how to answer inquiries.
