We first attended Puppy Classes and Puppy Play Group at See Spot Think four years ago, and have just returned to do it all again with a new puppy. I thought Cindy was wonderful the first time around, and I cant say enough about how great our recent experience has been. The older dog is now a registered therapy dog and we have taken lots of different training classes in the Rochester area, but I am still learning so many new and helpful things at See Spot Think. Cindy is extremely knowledgeable, and wonderful with people as well as dogs. She is a great teacher: calm, focused, and supportive, with a warm and gentle down-to-earth style that helps everyone be more comfortable and successful. The classes are great, and in Puppy Play Group Cindy does an amazing job of simultaneously teaching the people and managing the puppies. She makes the experience safe and fun, as well as a great learning experience for the people and priceless developmental experience for the pups!

Cindy is a life saver! As new puppy owners, we had no idea that the age our puppy came home at was too young and that he had some issues to deal with as a result. We are happy to report that, thanks to Cindy, our puppy is now a little over 6 months old and is thriving, happy, healthy, and very well-behaved! We absolutely could not have done this without her help, support, and tremendous amount of patience! Cindy is very well-versed in positive reinforcement techniques for dog training, which has been a HUGE help in training a dominant Rottweiler puppy. She is so knowledgeable and easily approachable with any questions, concerns, or issues and her teaching style is so easy to understand and practice at home! Not only can she help you train your dog, but Cindy also helps with socialization, which is such a vital part of puppy development. The puppy playtime sessions are very well worth it! Our puppy went from a scared, nervous little guy to a confident big baby who loves to fling himself on his back and play with dogs of all sizes! We really cant say enough good things about See Spot Think, and we recommend it to all of our friends and family!

My puppy and family love Cindy, shes incredible. Her weekly classes are very helpful in teaching growing puppies what we want from them. Her class format is very puppy friendly with playtime and fun lessons. She even offers separate puppy playtime which is great to let your puppy socialize with other puppies big and small as well as other humans. Kids love watching puppy playtime too.She responded well to emails and always has great suggestions for any crazy behavior I accidentally taught my puppy.

Cindy is one of the best, if not the best, puppy trainer in the Rochester area. She brings many years of experience to her clients and a curriculum that thoughtfully builds your pups confidence through socialization exercises. Her classes are not just play class and not just obedience class; you will learn how to create a foundation of confidence and communication that will positively impact your pup for his/her lifetime. Investing the time and money into her classes when your pup is young is invaluable! I can say this with confidence not only as a dog trainer myself (and the trainer who shares space with Cindy), but as a client who has taken my own puppy through her classes. We are very lucky to have Cindy as a resource for Rochester area puppy training.

Cindy is a fantastic dog trainer and a huge help to new puppy parents. Anyone with a new puppy in Rochester should check out See Spot Think! for not only dog training but also their puppy play time! My puppy Daisy loves attending Cindys classes and play time so much that she gets excited just pulling into the parking lot! Its great socialization for your dog and you learn a lot about your dogs behavior and how to correct it as well.

I have been to several dog training classes over the years, and this one is by far the best. Cindy is a very skillful trainer who is very logical in the way she instructs. As is with most dog training classes, it is the human who needs the training in order to get a desired behavior from the dog. Her instructions are very specific and she gives individual guidance to both the handler and the dog. Cindy explains how a specific human behavior on my part may impact the dog and lead to an undesired result. Her handouts for homework are extremely informative and helpful in practicing between sessions. She is extremely knowledgeable about a puppys critical period of development.I have two older dogs that did not have the advantage of her classes. However, from what I have learned, I have been able to train them do stop barking at the school buses and trucks that come into the neighborhood and to sit in their cages/houses (with the gates open) during meals. Cindy is a spectacular teacher!

After several different people recommended See Spot Think, we were lucky to begin Puppy 1 and 2 classes with Cindy. She made classes so much fun, and helped us understand how to successfully use positive reinforcement methods. Cindy always had helpful suggestions for any current challenges we had... such as biting with those sharp baby teeth! The puppy playtime sessions were also great. Because of careful guidance by Cindy and Celeste, our puppy progressed quickly from timid to confident playmate during her first session.I highly recommend See Spot Think, and the approach they teach to raising a puppy.

Cindy is absolutely fantastic. She teaches you to truly communicate with your dog. In her classes you learn not only the standard obedience cues, but also how to accurately read your dogs behavior during the lifelong conversation youre both in.Weve taken her Puppy Kindergarten and Puppy2 classes as well as participated in the puppy playtimes and through Cindys guidance our relationship with our puppy has moved from guessing his needs with the best of intentions to truly understanding what our puppy is seeking and being able to provide that for him.At this point, our puppy has interacted with a lot of canine professionals and only Cindy has read his behavior correctly/productively. She is simply the best translator we have had the pleasure of learning from.

Khaleesi and I love this place!! Ive learned so much. We have gone through puppy K and are in puppy two currently. Other than sit I had no idea how to teach a dog anything and now we know all sorts of commands. Much of them, to my surprise, are there not only to have a well behaved dog but also to help in everyday situations (rollover when its time to check for ticks and touch to help teach them how to say hello to strangers and not jump or in our case not be afraid!) The puppy playtime is also invaluable. Weve learned what good puppy play is and Khaleesi really enjoys it. My girl is very shy and what Ive learned from Cindy has really helped to bring her out of her shell and get her comfortable in the world. 5 Stars!

I attended Puppy 1 and Puppy 2 with my puppy who is shy and fearful. Cindy truly is a puppy expert. My puppy and I both learned the skills needed for her to thrive at home and out in the world. Cindy is a natural at reading puppy/dog body language and assessing behavior which helped immensely in teaching my puppy that the world isnt such a scary place after all. I grew up with dogs, but never had any real experience with dog training beyond Sit! until I met Cindy. We have a particularly rambunctious 4-month old Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier, Seymour, and two equally rambunctious children (ages 7 and 9) who love dogs and want to be actively involved in the training process. Cindy has been wonderful at working with our entire family to provide a consistent, playful and positive environment in which Seymour can learn. We are proud graduates of Puppy Kindergarten, and are excited to be embarking on our next adventure - Puppy 2!

My puppy just finished Puppy Kindergarten with Cindy at See Spot Think and she did great! Cindy is extremely friendly and cares a great deal about the dogs that come through her door. She knows a great deal about dogs and their behaviors, she is always willing to talk about any questions or concerns you may have. Cindy also holds puppy play time where you can bring in your dog and let them play with other dogs. At first my puppy just sat there or ran away from the other dogs when they came near her, but now she cannot wait to get to play time. She loves Cindy and going to playtime/class. I cant say enough good things about Cindy, she is awesome and I highly recommend her!

The person who came to play time and didnt like it, doesnt understand how puppies think, which is the whole basis for these classes and play time. I guess the individual wasnt able to listen and learn about the puppy. Cindy is an excellent trainer who understands how puppies think. I have been attending her classes for two years and have been able to retrain even my 12 year old dogs to behave better using her techniques? This individual has a great deal to learn about puppy behavior and how is puppy reacts to other dogs and how other dogs react to his puppy. It appears that he does not understand or is aware of the body language of his dog and that of other dogs. If so, he would have been able to listen and help his puppy have a successful play time experience. While attending a play time, Cindy and the assistant have to ensure that all the puppies have a safe and rewarding experience (this may not be dependent on the size of your puppy--It is important to observe and understand the reactions of your puppy and others) I have been in class with puppies that are more sure of themselves and this can be very frightening to other puppies. I needed to learn how to teach my puppy to meet other less sure puppies and understand the body language of the puppies. Cindy is excellent at pointing this out and helping you learn how to work with you puppy in these situations. It makes it a great experience for all the puppies and your puppy learns very valuable lessons too.I can only guess that the owner of the puppy, who was very unhappy with this play time experience, was not ready or able to learn about his puppy from this very knowledgeable, experienced and wonderful trainer. As a former teacher, I find her instruction in classes and play times very organized, building on fundamentals and increasing a puppys confidence at every step. The classes and play time start with the building blocks of good puppy learning and then gradually adding more complex skills and learning.I feel sad for this individuals puppy because the individual is not prepare or willing to learn.

Cindy at See Spot Think dog training opened my eyes to a whole new, wonderful way of relating to my dogs, and whenever anyone asks me about dog training, I send them to the See Spot Think website. I first came to SST with my hound puppy for puppy play group, where we had a wonderful time, every single time. Each puppy was carefully and lovingly assessed and placed with other like-minded puppies, so that play was safe and enjoyable for everyone. Observation of play styles was constant, and adjustments were made if necessary, so that as there were slight changes as puppies developed, play buddies and locations could change, too. My puppy and I enjoyed play group so much that we signed up for Puppy Kindergarten and then went on to Puppy Two, if thats the next level. Along the road, I learned so much that its now hard to shut me up about dog training, and the learning and relationship-building continue with other dogs (and my hound puppy, approaching age five now, often helps me). I cannot recommend Cindy and SST highly enough. Shes got credentials from some of the best trainers in the world, and she continues to keep abreast of new research and methods, and takes advantage of opportunities for higher learning. 100% trustworthy, with a fun approach--the best investment youll make in the relationship you have with your dog.

We always have a wonderful time at playtime. Cindy’s number one concern is always safety, and making sure the dogs are feeling comfortable in their given situations. The website clearly states the rules, goals, and guidelines of puppy playtime. My dog is pretty small so it isn’t uncommon to require a few time outs throughout class to prevent him becoming overwhelmed. I feel that Cindy is very experienced in picking up on dog body language and always trust that she will act in the best interest of all dogs present- when she tells me to pick my dog up, up he goes! It is a group playtime session intended for socialization of our pups and sometimes they don’t make it until the end, but that’s okay! They still get a great opportunity to socialize and when they’re done, they’re done- if they have to leave and try again the following week, it is once again in the best interest of the dog! They are less likely to WANT to socialize more if they are forced to remain in a situation that is overwhelming or frustrating to them. One tip i have is to email Cindy to inquire if there will be any similarly sized dogs coming to playtime so that I can plan to come when I know my pup has some good matches in attendance.

I brought my puppy to See Spot Think after my neighbors recommendation and was pleasantly surprised by the style of training that Cindy uses. I had a lot of preconceived ideas about what was right and wrong about dog training and my puppy and I learned so many behavior modifications/reinforcements that we still use today when encountering new situations. We continued through Puppy 2 and then went on to Canine Good Citizen training where little Vido passed with flying colors. Any time I have had extra issues or questions about specific dog related issues, Cindy has been very helpful and addressed them above and beyond my expectations. Ive come to feel like I really truly get my dog and the bond we now have is even more special after our experiences with See Spot Think.

We loved our experience with See Spot Think! We got our puppy at 6 weeks old with little experience on raising puppies. I called Cindy when I was feeling extremely overwhelmed. Cindy was so very calming and knowledgable. She recommended enrolling our yellow lab, Maizie, into Puppy Kindergarten as well as check out Puppy Playtime. We could not be more thrilled with the outcomes. Through the classes, ours were taught by Celeste, and playtime ran by Cindy, we were able to learn positive ways to train Maizie. Now at almost 2 years old, she has a wonderful disposition, is super cuddly, and gets along wonderfully with many other animals and children. I would recommend See Spot Think! to all!

Best dog trainers in town! I grew up with dogs and my parents were the ones that took the dogs to classes, the result was that the dogs didnt listen to me and my siblings as well and we had no clue what we were doing when interacting with the dogs. One of my favorite things about Cindy and Celeste is their family approach to training and openness to teach not only the adults how to train but also how to help our children interact with the dogs and keep it a positive experience for the dogs and the children! Ive worked with both trainers in class settings as well as one on one and their personal touch and interest in getting to know you and your dog is part of what I think makes them so successful, they dont treat every dog and every situation the same and can offer many techniques to help you find the one that works best for you and your puppy. Im also grateful for their willingness to answer questions via email or phone as I had situation come up that I hadnt experienced before and it was very helpful to get a pros take on it! Our lab Charger (1 year old) showed tremendous growth thanks to one on one sessions with Celeste and what I had learned previously with both Cindy and Celeste I look forward to continuing his training and recommend See Spot Think to anyone I know with dogs!

Puppy play class was disorganized, unclear, and unprofessional. Its a part time business run by a trainer that only communicates by email & only at her convenience. There were no formal guidelines, or even a simple greeting, given before or during the class to explain its rules and procedures. Its just one trainer for about a dozen puppies, and after observing your dog for a few seconds, if she sees something she doesnt like, shell tell you to leave. Dont waste your time or money on on such an ameteur, bush-league operation. Go to Lollypop or Dog E. Woggy instead. There most certainly were not 2 trainers working. There was one trainer (you, the owner, Cindy) and your assistant Deborah. Deborah was never introduced as a trainer, co-trainer, or assistant trainer. Just my assistant, Deborah. If shes a qualified, professional dog trainer, why didnt you introduce her as such? What formal, specialized training does she have? Did she also earn an SPCA certificate over 20 years ago, in 1999? Has she too continued to hone her (amateur) dog training skills through seminars & online forums, or working closely with world renowned chicken trainers? You need to look up gregarious in a dictionary, and my pup was absolutely not the largest dog in the class. You also need to admit openly that you most certainly did not spend 30 minutes working with my pup. He played with one puppy for about 2 minutes, and you told me to take him out because he was bullying. I complied, taking my pup outside, and then back in to the waiting area where we sat for 15 minutes, with no subsequent attention or instruction from you or your ASSISTANT. All the while my pup is going absolutely bonkers having to sit behind a gate and watch other dogs play. After finally getting your ASSISTANTS attention, Deborah said I could try bringing him back in, which I did, with the same results as prior: he played for 2 minutes with another dog, you said he was too aggressive and we should leave. And you honestly think that amounts to a 30 minute effort on your part?!? What a joke...You didnt explain anything about your training philosophy or methodology until after giving us the boot, when I expressed my frustrations, and all you had to say was, Sorry, man. This information should be made far more transparent in your website content, and be directly stated to potential clients PRIOR to coming to class. If its beneficial to observe the dogs size and style of play before they attend class, then make provisions to do that, for gods sake. Dont just go for the cash and have people waste their time coming to something they may not even be a good fit for, because youre too busy or distracted to provide a quality service to people who would pay good money for it.

Cindy is a great trainer. Weve completed Puppy I and are currently in Puppy II and occasionally we go to the play time classes when larger dogs attend. For the play classes, Cindy is very knowledgeable and truly cares about setting up the best experience for your dog based on their personality. She pairs pups up based on their response to one another and their temperaments so that each puppy can safely and comfortably get socialization with others. She doesnt just throw your pups all together in a single class and make it a free-for-all like many pet stores will do. She is very good at recognizing signs of aggression or anxiety in dogs and she is constantly reassessing throughout the class so your puppy can get the best experience possible.I would also highly recommend her as a trainer!
