We love Michaela! We have been seeing her for years now! My dog has a lot of anxiety and she is so good with him, he never seems stressed to go or when I pick him up. She also remembers all the little details that I like or dislike, so I know I can tell her to do the usual and he always looks perfect when she’s done! The location has convenient parking right in front, and it’s always a clean and calm environment.

I cannot recommend Shelby highly enough as a dog groomer. Her extensive knowledge and genuine love for all dogs shine through in her work. I trust her completely with my Pomeranian, who is getting older and has a few medical issues. Shelby always handles him with such care and skill, and he looks absolutely fantastic after every grooming session. Her dedication to her craft and her clients is evident, and I am incredibly grateful for the peace of mind she provides. If youre looking for a top-notch groomer who truly understands and cares for dogs, Shelby is the one to see.

The staff here are very professional and talented. They are also very conscious of how the dogs are feeling throughout the process and are quick to alert owners to any potential medical or behavior issues that may need to be addressed by a vet. My dogs come out looking beautiful every time.

Shelby is the best! We have been bringing our cavapoo to her since we first got him and she helped gently introduce him to grooming as a puppy. We followed her from Ithapaws to A Paw Above. Our dog LOVES her (normally he is very apprehensive around human strangers). I’ve never had a dog that was excited to be dropped off at the groomer. She does a fantastic job with his cut as well!

Shelby groomed our two longhaired chihuahuas yesterday. She did a wonderful job on both girls and I am so very, very pleased with the results. I was impressed at her attention to detail. For example, upon examining the paper we brought from our vet showing vaccinations, she noticed a medication that one dog takes, and knew what it was for. I also appreciated that she listened to the ways we wanted the dogs groomed and did exactly what we requested. Finally, she took in consideration that one of our dogs is still young and had never been professionally groomed before. I’m so happy that all went well. The price for the two dogs was very reasonable. Thank you, Shelby, they look and smell fantastic.

Shelby is so amazing with our dog! She always puts his comfort first and is so careful, conscientious, and kind when trimming his nails. We cant say enough good things about her work and highly recommend it - especially if you have nervous or fearful dogs that need special care and consideration.

The new grooming facility is fantastic. With an open floor plan, its so nice to hear how Shelby talks to our dog during the grooming session to provide a positive experience every time.Shelby is so kind and supportive of our grooming requests, and makes each booking a breeze. Prices are reasonable, and accessible for a variety of services. Another gem of a small, locally-owned business in the Ithaca/ Dryden area.

Had a wonderful experience and such friendly and helpful staff. Our Albert came out looking so handsome and happy! All of the facilities were very clean and well kept. I highly recommend making a visit with your pup!

The staff was fantastic and my pup was taken care of. Shelby remembered us from Ithapaws and knew exactly what my pup needed. Prices are great and I HIGHLY recommend them if youre looking for a pet groomer.

We have a reactive and anxious dog who has a hard time getting her nails cut. Paw Above has been amazing—they always schedule us when no other dogs will be there, and they’re very quick so our dog doesn’t have to put up with it long. Prices are reasonable, too!

Shelby does a great job on my rescue dog! She has earned his trust and he loves going to visit!

We were patrons of IthaPaws for many years and had nothing but A+ experiences there. Unfortunately we had a negative interaction here with the front desk and were berated for being 10 minutes late. They also demanded we pay a $60 fee to schedule further appointments. Shocking and disappointing especially after years of good patronage.Response to owner: I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree on staff being “polite”. Tone was rude and seemed more interested in $60 than working to keep a long time faithful customer. In a small town good luck with that mindset!

Shelby is phenomenal! She is both professional and empathetic. Her attention to detail in both the grooming process and the behavior of the dogs is amazing. You can tell that she has a strong connection with every four legged client she works on. And she’s friendly with the two legged ones too! I have nothing but good things to say about her and A Paw Above! It breaks my heart that I am moving out of state and will be leaving soon. I will never forget this place, or Shelby! She sets the gold standard for small business dog groomers!
