Not bad. Could use more grass and less gravel. And more equipment for the dogs. Some kiddie pools in the large dog area would be nice in the summer. Probably the largest and cleanest dog park closest to me but could be nicer. Either way. My dog loves it.
Nice park on the lake. Good for walking. Has kayak/canoe slips for easy entry/return. Just watch out for bad dog owners in the fenced-in dog area.
Lots of space for dogs to run around. Not a lot of equipment. Our dog Max seemed to have a lot of fun. Good place for dogs to meet other dogs.
A spacious, fully fenced in area where we can let our dogs off leash and play with the other pooches. We never have a problem here unless the park police want to rain on everyone’s parade by demanding proof of vaccines. Ours are up to date but we don’t carry around their paperwork so we always have to leave. This is inconvenient as we live in Jefferson county.Still though, driving an hour and a half is worth it because of how secure the fence is, and the fact that there are always dogs here to play with.My only critique is that they should not turn the water off when summer ends. Many owners still bring their dogs here during the winter so we can watch our dogs frolic in the snow.
Great park. If you have never been to a dog park before please read up before going to avoid potential conflicts. (i.e. how to enter, who is allowed, play vs non play, etc) great in all weather
Great place to go with pets! Miles of paved walkways as well as Park grounds to enjoy with family, friends and pets. Fishing along the banks. Bring your lunch for a great afternoon!
I have been there thousands of times. A new dog enters the park and the dogs treat each other like best friends. Monitor your dog because of occasional spats.
My puppy loves the park! She gets all the freedom she cant at home.
My pup loves running with and chasing the other pups. Unfortunately the last two times we have been there there has been an issue with an agressive pup that attacked another pup and was not under the direct control of its owner. Yesterday it was my pup who was attacked while I actually had physical control of him and the time before it was another persons dog that was attacked. Fortunately neither my dog nor the other dog was hurt. This spoils it for the responsible dog owners who wish to enjoy Park! If you have an aggessive dog do not bring him to the Park!
I’ve been here a few time and other times have been generally great, haven’t had any issues with dogs or people up until now. I went with my 5 month old puppy who is wonderful with other dogs and loves people. He is very chill and not super engaging with other dogs, until he went up to a dog that was in the park where he got no closer than two feet to the other dog and the dog turned around and bit my dog in the face! My dog yelped and ran to me, when I asked who’s dog the border collie was I was met with blank stairs and no answer. Until a woman WHOM DID NOT OWN THE DOG came up to me and said he’s fine, if he’s not bleeding yet it’s probaly not that bad. I explained to her that he NEVER yelps unless he’s actually hurt, where I was then essentially told I don’t know anything about MY DOG and that we shouldn’t kick the dog who bit out because and I quote “He’s deaf, so it’s fine.” I understand that these kinds of altercations happen and my dog is probaly alright but giving this kind of excuse to a reactive dog SURROUNDED by other dogs is NOT EXCEPTABLE!!!If you see a border collie (black and white dog with long hair) and a green collar that states the dog is deaf, something which I had not seen before the bite, please do not let your dog near it!! It WILL BITE!!And I also understand that in this photo his bite does not look that bad but any sized wound on my dog worries me and pisses me off because dog parks are supposed to be for well behaved and non-reactive dogs!!!
Nice clean, well maintained dog park. It would be even better if more agility structures could be added to the small dog area and watering stations.
The dogs had a great time here. Most people do pick up after their dogs and are aware of their dog’s behavior. Fully fenced with two areas. Just wish they would bring back the benches that were removed during Covid.
Great place to take your pooch! Be aware of the park rangers doing license checks on dogs to make sure they are licensed to their respective towns and that they have rabies tags. They offer a free tag good for a year that keeps you from getting checked. The park has 2 sides one for small and one for large dogs. Walking along the river to the lake makes a great finish to a long play session at the dog park. Most owners are responsible and friendly. Some not as much. Great place to visit every season. Can be muddy after a good rain or snow.
Small dog side is great. To many fights between large dogs on big dog side.my dog is only 29lbs so she has to go on large dog side. It gets dangerous when a 100lb dog decides to attack her. Also people allow there children to come in and use the area for a playground and pet and play with dogs without permission or finding out if the dog may bite. Needs to be more supervision on big dog side
I do not have a ton to compare it with. Pros: there are 2 sides; one for dogs undee 25lbs and one for all dogs. Two fenced in enclosures. The areas themselves are a mix of dirt, gravel, and patchy grass with a few trees. Each side has a few agility features. There are water spigot to fill bowls. There are recepticles for waste and bags provided. My dog always has enjoyed it immensely. Cons: it is not always the most maintained. Many of the dog owners are not attentive to their dogs (most are though). It is not the fanciest, but it is a good amenity in the city. It is also located in the park where you can walk your dog (on leash).Note: I have a smaller dog who is very active. Both sides are great for her. Bigger dogs mat have needs this park does not have.
Unsafe. Untrained dangerous dogs and even more unsafe dangerous owners. As soon as my dog came into the area she was rushed by 4 dogs who immediately starting snarling and biting her. Only 1 owner other than myself even attempted to break up the fight. None of the 4 dogs listened to a recall. TRAIN YOUR REACTIVE DOGS AND DONT TAKE THEM OFF LEASH IF THEY DONT RECALL. Never coming back here again and I suggest you don’t either.
Love that theres two parks right next to each other. One for small dogs and bigger dogs. Parks are kept fairly clean and stocked with free poop bag dispensers. Dogs are always friendly as are dog owners. Own a small Jack Russel and he loves being able to run leash free in this large gated area with the other pups.
This is a great place to bring your dogs. You and your dog can socialize with other dog owners and other dogs in the park. Typically during the summer season they have a water spout which will give out water but Im not sure if because of covid-19 or if because of it being the first week of spring in March 2021 when I went the water is currently turned off but normally during the summer has a water spout with water. there are bathrooms nearby so you wont have to go very far to go to the human bathroom. there are two different sides to the park and any size dog bring your dog on that side at your own risk and then under 25 lb side for a little itty bitty dogs under 25 lb.
Great place to let your dog out and run free. Fenced in, water available. Double gate entrance to prevent dogs from getting out. There is an all sizes side and a small dog side.
Great park for training a dog either from afar or inside the enclosed fence. Theres even a fake fire hydrant inside the fence to make your pup feel at home. Lot of dog mines in the winter... If I catch you not picking up after your dog tho Im gonna tackle you
I really like this park for my dog, since she always has a good time. There are some nice obstacles for them, and there are separate sides depending if you have a small dog. My only complaints are that the obstacles are poorly maintained, and theres no real recourse when owners continually dont control their dogs. Also, I really wish they salted since lately the park has been an ice rink.
Nice walking spaces for dogs along the water. Also not to busy. Pretty large caged area. Split for small dogs and large dogs.Truthfully though my dog would much rather walk the surrounding paths than be in the dog park. Good for all kinds of reasons :)
It is very clean and can be a very positive experience for dogs. I have two Dobermans (with Obedience titles) and am always alert as to how other dogs interact each other. I would hope that other pet owners would also be watchful. Not always the case. I commend the concept and generally have a good experience.
I have gone to this dog park for the past summer. For the most part I have been very satisfied with my experience. The people have almost always been quite nice. However I have become uncomfortable with the children that are allowed to roam free and feel that they can pick up and play with any dog they choose in an unsafe Manor. This is a place where you are suppose to let dogs play with each other and get their energy out. The dog park is not a petting zoo to entertain your children.Secondly, today while I was there, several cars had their windows smashed and broken into in the hour that I was there. How can I comfortably take my dog somewhere to have fun and socialize when I cant feel safe enough that my car will not be broken into. I will not be returning. It is sad when good hard working people are taken advantage of.
Great for pups, but no drinking water during the winter months, so go prepared. Several Good Samaritan bring water jugs, but they freeze. Most pups and humans are good citizens. Once in a while there is a scuffle, but this is canine pack behavior and owners need to realize it. Have fun...your pup will!
Great space for dogs to run and play safely. Unfortunately water was turned off to fill water bowls, though I did provide my own. It would be nice if there were a few benches for people to sit if they needed to.
Not bad dog park. i would have thought it would have been a bit bigger though. there are no seats or chairs in the small dog yard but they do have an agility ramp, so thats fun. It serves the purpose of getting the dogs out and running around.
This park is great for any size dog. Two different areas for them to play in, one for small dogs and one for big dogs. There is so much room to let your dogs free and run around. We take our little puppy there as much as possible!
Sponsored by Wegmans, the park has 2 sections. One for dogs 25 lbs and under; the other one for larger dogs. Water and bowls are available in both sections. Dogs must have all shots current and have licenses. Plenty of shade and benches. Owners are responsible for dogs and their actions. It is not recommended that children under 10 be in the park. Dog owner is responsible for pickup of dog waste. Plastic bags are provided. Park closes at dusk. Open year round but water is turned off from November to April so lines dont freeze. Great facility!
Easy access from I90, close to parking, very clean, very secure gates and they have playground equipment for dogs in the park. The large area is mostly gravel covered making it easier to clean up, while still providing grass and shade trees for their comfort.
Very fun place to being the pups. There are two fenced areas, one for all size dogs and another for 25lbs and under. There are obstacles and tunnels in each area as well as a water spicket. Between all that and the supplied poo bags all you really need to bring is a dog. The park is on the edge of the lake and has plenty of outside seating and bbq grills and parking. Its a lot of fun and very convenient.
Havent actually gone to the dog park, I run my dog on the lake trails everyday. Everybody we encounter is very nice, other dogs are mostly well-haved, or at least well-controlled. Everything is nicely maintained and cleaned up daily.
Great place for our puppy to burn off some energy. There arent always a lot of dogs on the small dog side but we really dont mind. I just wish they had a place for owners to sit while our fur babies run and play.
Great spot, not too far from the Turnpike. It sits about half way thru our long road trip. My dog can run for 45 minutes and continue with the trip. Water and bags available and everyone I have met, four visits as of now, have been welcoming and watchful over their dogs.
Great place to bring you pets. The area has two gated sections for large dogs and smalls with a track to walk your dog when you just want to walk. I have a husky and he loves to come and is always tired afterwards
At least 4 cars windows were broken and stuff stolen from them. A fellow park goer said this has been happening all summer. Also though most people and their dogs are nice in the small dog section but in the big dog section I often see/hear aggressive dogs and Ive seen a dog steal someones hat 2 times and the owner didnt intervene until the child chased the dog for a few minutes. Ive also seen another owner try to break up a dog fight by slapping the other dog with her sweatshirt.Speaking of children lately there have been kids in the enclosures which is fine with me but they are not playing with their own dogs. The children often chase dogs or throw leaves, frisbees, and sticks at dogs. I also notice some are unsupervised when their parents are in the big dog enclosure. This is a dog park not a childs playground, its supposed to be a safe place for my dog to socialize with other dogs, not to be picked up by kids and chased. I have a dachshund so Im careful with her back.
First time and last tine I will be taking my puppy there. Sure there are rules at the gate but no one follows. Took my puppy there today. At first we had it all to ourselves then 2 other dogs came. One of the 2 was insanely aggressive and kept trying rip ny dogs throat out. He would seek him out to attack him. And ghe same dog did it to the other poor pup to. Owner scolded him but never leashed the dog or left. That dog will end up killing another dog or a person with that type of aggression.
I can only say that this area of Onondaga Lake Parkway is a nice pleasant place to have a get-together and fish the shoreline. I never have taken my dogs too and inside the good dog park gate however my brother and his son took there English lab inside the Gated dog park and seem to have a good enjoyable experience with others
I love taking my dog there but people really need to keep their aggressive dogs out of there and this woman who had two small Chihuahuas and a bigger dog and a husband both chose go on the big side and the big dogs ganged up on this old Chihuahua come on in the mother of the old Chihuahua was screaming obscenity words towards his woman and it wasnt her fault. Well could have kept her husband and the bigger dog on the big side and she could have taking her two little ones on the small side, would have saved a lot of Heartache
My dog loves the place. He gets to run in an enclosed area that has one for big dogs and one for small dogs. Sadly since Covid as arrived, the benches have been removed from the enclosure.
Great place to let your dog run, and socialize with other dogs. Recommend u bring your own water bowl. The ones there are pretty Gross! Good time today! Thanks Wegmans!
The park itself is great. There can be people who are crazy dog owners who bring their dogs and just let them run wild. I have had two dogs go after mine within the last couple times visiting and their owners just sat their like nothing was going on.
I wish the actual play area had more grass for the dogs to play in off leash. My hound loves sniffing around, a patchy green area would have been pleasant for her to peruse.
Small park, but well maintained. Make sure your dog is up to date on vaccines, and that you have proof; they will check and remove the dog If you dont.
Its great to have a public space for dogs to meet. Owners stay alert as some dogs can be aggressive and some owners dont seem to pay enough attention to correct the behavior. Totally not the dogs fault.
This dog park has many amenities and is very well kept. It is large and offers space for both large and small dogs. It is a great stop while on a long road trip on I-90
My dog and I love to visit here. The restrooms are kept pretty clean, there is always a water dish available on both sides, and there are toys for the dogs to play with. We visit often.
We have two sm dogs, when visiting weve brought Eddie here several times, this trip was Tobys first time and he was crazy in heaven. Loved every minute we were there
I do have a complaint about the fire hydrient. Its right in the open were the dogs can run in it and hurt there selfs causing broken legs and possiblity youd be sued. But other than that its a really nice park just it needs remodeling
Its too small and dirty. My fifteen pound dog gets bored after being in that caged area for ten minutes. The dog park that he is used to is twelve acres, full of things to explore. Syracuse needs a dog park like that
Dog park has spaces to walk your four legged friend around besides the corralled area provided for socializing with other dogs and their human companions. Major draw back is that the dog must be micro chipped.
Looks great, BUT HAS TO BE OPEN TO BE ENJOYED!!! Drove from Ithaca to Syracuse and all signs pointed to this park being open, found padlocks on the gates when I got here despite the place looking nice. No advisories online at all as to it being closed.
There is no regulation of any kind at this park.. my daughters dog was viscously attacked yesterday by another dog … that dogs owner did nothing and there were no park officials there to intervene….or assist!
Great space for running your pup! Mostly stone dust but there are grassy areas outside the fencing to walk your dog.
This is my usual place I take my dog. Mainly due to location. The fencing was recently updated which is very nice. The reason I gave 3 stars is because it’s gravel and it’s kinda small.
It was my pups first time going. Hes a 12 pound yorkie and he loved it!! I love the fact that they have a separate section for little dogs!
They need to fill in the muddy areas, aggressive owners need to stay away. Overall a good park! Most owners and dogs are fantastic
My dogs love this park. However, there needs to be rules or something for the adults that go in there. Today not only did one kick my dog on purpose, but continued to argue with me and swear at me. Shame
Great place to take your dog for a walk and also help your dog to socialize with other dogs. Definitely recommend this place to all pet owners a must visit
Great roomy dog park! My dogs loved it! Mostly gravel and some grass. No places to sit currently though
Great when its not wet but if it is then be prepared your dog will be dirty lol. Friendly people and great to see all breeds and chat it up. #huskyparent
Our dog enjoyed playing with other dogs at the park. The environment was clean and well maintained.
Good little dog park, our girl had fun... BUT we did encounter a dominating dog and we saw a lot of people turn away when they saw a ranger, so I assume people often go with tagless dogs.
I hadnt been there in years. There are no longer any benches to sit on. All the dog waste bags were empty. It just isnt being kept up like it was previously.
Great place to take your dog for exercise, to socialize with other dogs, and to meet other friendly dog owners. Large facility that has many different exercise options for your dog.
2 differnt fully fenced in dog areas for large or small dogs. Provides poop bags and water for the dogs. Truly a wonderful dog park 6/5
Not good. Always experience dogs who are aggressive here. Owners should be responsible and keep their dogs out if they know they are not good around other dogs.
The small dog park is great for small dogs. My ONLY COMPLAINT ON SMALL DOG AREA, THE GRASS AREA NEEDS TO BE CUT. SMALL DOG DROPPINGS IS HARD TO LOCATE TO PICK IT UP. NEEDS ATTENTION.
Need more on the other side of th he county. Great place to exercise your dog. Most get along nicely.
I have been going there for 13 years. My last dog and current dog love it. I love watching the dogs play and talking to other owners.
Lol, what can you say it is a dog park. A good sized fenced in area for dogs to run free. But closed for COVID.
Beautiful setting, and people are generally good with keeping their dogs under control. Small agility course.
I love there u can walk around the water but the place where the dogs play there is a place for dog under a certain amount of weight and a place for all of us can go but the price for smaller dogs have only isnt that the dogs can play and the bigger area for all dogs has a whole thing of obstacle courses but they always have bigger dogs that can injured smaller dogs
Great place to take your dog. One side is for small dogs and the other side is for large dogs.
Everything was frozen over , so we didnt get all muddy lol. And the dogs had a good run and fun
Nice open space for your dog to roam and always other people with the their dog there, nice gathering space for dog lovers, and your dog gets to stretch their legs
Love being able to let my dog run free on the big dog side. Also love how they provide bags for the waste.
Not the best place. 😕people do not pickup their dog phoo . Its all over and some dogs are mean.
Most times people are very good with their dogs. Water and poop stations are available.
Very clean, friendly dogs, lots of room to run around. My pug loves it!
Its a great place for dogs to Socialize! Gets them out to inter react w/ other breeds & sizes!!
My dog and I love going here! Weve never had a bad time.
Love this place and so does my dog! Friendly area and people as well.
Nice park friendly dogs and owners ( the times I have gone) pretty well kept
Nice park. Wish it were bigger for number of dogs that were there when we went
I love taking my dog to the park . After playing with the dogs we then walk around the part
Great place to take your dogs to interact with other dogs !! Side for big dogs and side for smaller dogs !!
My dog loves it here. Never had an issue with other dogs or owners.
Great place for well socialized dogs to burn off some energy and meet new dog friends
Meh, nice parks but wayyyyyy too many children. Like, why are there children here?0.O
Its ok but people dont watch their dogs or stop bad play behavior which is anoying .
Awesome place to go!! Dogs have a lot of room to run and play.
Nice place, clean and normally the owners take care of their dogs.
Good place for exercise and the dogs, but not so hot on fishing this time of year
My only complaint is that it should be called all dog park, as all dogs are good dogs.
Its not taken care of. Its very dusty and dirty. No benches to sit. I see people all the time sitting on the dogs play sets.
Good place to let your dog get exercise and socialize with other dogs
My poodles and I love this park
Son went for a flu shot. Nice folks and no pain noticed.
Should be grassy, not gravel. The gravel isnt good for the dogs paws and tore my pups up.
Jamesville beach dog park is better for larger, more active dogs
Great place to take the kids aka dogs to interact with others.
Great facility. Well thought out! Lots of interaction and or training potential.
I bring my dog there to fight play fight that is
It needs to be bigger they should have the whole area free to run
First time here, will be back!
A happy safe place for my dog to socialize and play.
Love taking my dog there.
Great dog park I’ve been taking my beloved dog there since she was a puppy! Never had a problem until today. There is a fenced in space for both large and smaller dogs, witch I believe is for a good reason. Today the large dog area was pretty busy lots of dogs lots of fun for my dog especially because I take her there to get her running around and let some energy out. This man brought his clearly under 35 pound dog into the big area? Didn’t have a issue with it until I see this dog scared of the big dogs leading this corgi to be aggressive and start biting my dog!! Ripped her shock collor off her neck! My dog thinks the corgi (Macy ) is playing but we knew better and the man picks up the corgi and my dog jumped up on the man. Which would easily been avoided if he took his dog to the correct area. I apologized for my dog jumping up on him. And he was so rude!! It’s a dog park for goodness sake what do you expect, especially when you’re disobeying the clearly posted signs at the entrance. Shaking my head at this establishment and there should be a park ranger or someone making sure people are obeying the rules. So things like this are avoided! Such a shame I had to leave this park because of other people’s ignorance.
Needs to be landscapedPatrons dont follow the rulesNice size space
Dogs hump my dog like i dont wanna have more husky puppies 1 is enough
This is a great place to bring your dog as theres usually a good amount of dogs there. I did recently get into an altercation with a man over me having brought a pitbull into the park. Mind you my dog is very young with not a mean bone in his body but the breed he had a problem with from the moment he walked through the gate. The daycare I bring my dog to has never had a complaint about my goofy overly friendly boy so that kind of rubbed me the wrong way
Ideal place to take dogs and children for some fresh air and exercise
Very large park with clear rules. A fenced in dog leash free area is a fun perk for friendly pup. Nobody was there when we were there on a Sunday at about 2:30 pm. Dog license is a must and it states patrolled by Rangers and if you cant produce it you will be asked to leave.
Too many dogs with agressive and bad bad behavior and owners that dont watch their dogs.
Such a great idea to let dogs play together like children
Nice muddy and snowy walk. During warmer weather this must be much nicer.
Very beautiful and my puppy loves it
Best place to bring your fur baby to meet new friends!
Great place to bring my dogs. Double gated system so its very safe to let the dogs run loose. Lots of other nice dog owners there. Great place to socialize my dogs and let them run off some steam.
There are two parks - one for dogs smaller than 25 pounds and one for all sizes. The rules are very clear and helpful for understanding and are posted right at the entrances so there isnt any confusion. The parks are clean and they provide little doggie bags and areas for disposal. They also provide this along the walking paths which is nice. There are benches to sit within the dog parks and some little obstacles for training. At each entrance is a little gated area to act as a buffer zone before introducing your dog to the enclosed park.
This is a pretty good place to take your dog. It is also pretty clean. They could use some new benches to sit on, but overall a good place for your dog to run around and get out energy.
Very busy on Saturday morning. Fun place
Dog park is just gravel.
Dogs had a great time. Lots of dogs.
Disease ridden fightclub
My dogs are having a great time with the other dogs. I would’ve given 5 stars, but some people do not clean up after there dogs...💩💩
If you dont like dog kisses, stay the heck away from here
Liked the old entrance to the closed dog sections
Love it here, and so do my pups!!!
It was amazing being 11 i had a great time with the dogs
Very nice place to take your dogs. clean and the dogs have a blast!
Nice big area for dogs to run and play.
Nice place...Needs some benches to sit on
I wish it was better maintained and supervised. The dogs there are bullies while the owners do little to nothing about it and there was mounds of poop everywhere when I visited
Just wish people read the rules and didnt bring babies in there especially out of thr stroller upon bringing aggressive dogs or dogs that just try to have s*x with other dogs.🤦♀️
Great place! My dog loves it!
Well kept and offers water for the dogs
A great place to let the dogs out !
Clean with the best selection of fruits and vegetables.
Awesone,. My dog loves going there😍😘🤩
Just make sure your dog has their rabies tag and license, or that you have the paperwork for those, because the park rangers will check and prevent you from entering if you dont have the necessary proof.
Small space, not a whole lot for them to do.
Great place to let the pups run around
Tiny but well tended
Great place for pup romping!
Great place for dogs to play
Great place to bring your dog
Our dog just loves it there
