OK so this will be my last review of the year with this place and I must say, what a year it has been. From the 1st review to now this place has made significant changes for the better. Workers are attentive to customers, place looks cleaner and people look like they enjoy being there. Things in which I look for in a neighborhood pet store who has to fight with the big names. Charming neighborhood gem..Fish dept small but worthly packed with quality (some exotic) stock & aquatic plants, aquarium supplies. Also is stocked with supplies for all pet needs- dogs cats birds & reptiles. Even nice selection of houseplants. Saturday morning peals of joy from neighborhood kids makes it magical.

Great place has lots of supplies and plants, owner is genius know Alot about animals.

All-in-one local pet shop. The owner is very knowledgeable on all types of animals, everyone there goes above and beyond to help and they have a bit of everything. Also, not just a pet shop, they offer vet and grooming services and have a lot of pet meds OTC. As long as I’m in this neighborhood, they’re my go to.

I had to change my review because last yr everything was stocked with fish and aquatic plants now the quality of it all had downgraded with a bunch of dead fish and plants in the tanks..I appreciate having a local pet shop because I dont have to travel far but when I spend almost $70 on 3 guppies, 1 small pleco, 3 snails, 1 cory, and 1 $9 Bottle of parasite gaurd for my quarantine tank and 2 days later all of my fish died is very disappointing 😢.. I breed guppies at home and have over 10 different generations but sometimes I like to support the local community petshop and look at guppies to determine whether i want to buy more depending on type and color variations. With this being said I will just buy fish food and keep breeding my own fish.

Called on a monday to ask if they had a treatment for cat ear mites, Was told they will have it in on Wednesday, Went in on Thursday, Was told they didnt have it in stock. Please dont tell someone you will have an item in stock then when they spend money to get there, they are told not in stock. Seems amature.The people are nice though.

I used to purchase many items from this pet store, but that ended today. I will never refer anyone here either. Being rude and disrespectful is not appropriate. I will never give my money and support businesses that treat customers as they please. You lost plenty of customers through me, I have referred. The lady that runs it is wonderful but the man is rude. Goodbye, I will go to Southern Blvd from now on.

Ive been keeping reptiles and fish for many many years so Ive been to many pet stores in my life. I can say this is the very first pet store that Ive seen keep their animals in such amazing conditions. All of their enclosures are clean and enriching. Absolutely love it. Definitely going to be a frequent customer.

The customer service in this place is beyond phenomenal. The manager was so helpful and sweet. My baby girl now has her first set of fishes, thanks to her. And the young man who helped me all the way to the car was even more incredible. Thank you for existing! You have a customer for life. 🫶🏾

I purchased feeder goldfish. 9 were dead before I got home. I have to edit this review. Purchased again feeder goldfish. Requested please do not give me dead fish. Or of there way to give me doing fish. Fish dead before I got home. But beware. They would not do this if this store was in Manhattan

Love this pet shop it’s great for all your animal needs. They sell live feed animals for snakes not just frozen that works for people like me.The owner is great and runs a good healthy environment. No matter if he is on meal he will still come out his office to help you.Besides the owner, One worker in my opinion stands out from the rest only because his love for the fish and the way he takes care of them. He showed me how to keep my small Aquarium healthy and keep my fish alive and happy. For months I could not get my tank to stay stable and stop my fish from dying until I found this guy Rivera who walked me through step by step on does and don’ts of the fish tank. Although I didn’t buy the fish from This store he still took the time to answer all my questions every time I came in there to buy food for my snake. Great workers make a great environment for business owners

I remember 13 years ago I want inside and the owner was so nice. I got a puppy from his shop 12 years ago. I still have the dog she is an awesome dog. In the summer I was in the restaurant with my family and the owner from the pet shop was there he recognize me and He stop me to say hi. That’s to show you how nice this man is and when you go to his shop he treats you like part of his family so I recommend this place to everyone he will always remember your face and never act like a stranger.. He also has good price in his store and he will work closely with you. Every Friday he also have in his shop a Doctor for your animals.. Awesome staff’s as well. My daughters and I loves this place so much..

I didn’t have the pleasure of going in this place, but I definitely saw some animals when I walked past. It was pretty cool to see the animals up close in personal.

I go there for all my supplies for my jack Dempsey. One sales person helped me out with my new 55 Gallon tank. I forgot her name. She delivered my tank to my house. Thank you. But some workers that work there need to know what they are selling and some employees there do not know anything about what they selling. But my hats off to the lady that helped me out with my stuff.

Gonna have to give it two stars. Back then they accepted debit cards, now they act all funny when you don’t have cash and the employee is very prejudiced.

If you are going to go and buy yourself pet supplies this place is pretty good and fair pricing considering there are very few shops like this in that area. However I have to advise that if you are considering coming here to get your pet vaccinated you might have a better experience going somewhere where you can book an appointment.They are only able to provide vaccines during the weekend, and the veterinarian arrives in the late afternoon, around 18:45. They also do not have a waiting room, understandably because they are a small shop. This means that you and your pet will find themselves on a line outside of the shop for hours, exposed to the elements. However I have to say that their service was fast, and very perfessional. I brought two dogs and they had it over and done with in less then 15 minutes. It is also very affordable. The price per animal is $65, this includes the medication and vaccines. On average you most likely will find yourself paying anywhere between $75-$145 so price wise this is a win-win.So if you have the time and patience but tight on funds I very much recommend this place. Just make sure you get their before 18:00 so you can make the front of the line. And bring water, there arent many shops in the area.

Awesome, incredibly well stocked pet store for the area. Extremely helpful staff that were very useful in helping me select the proper medication to treat my dog based on her age, weight and gender. Will certainly come back again. Miles beyond your regular chain pet store in knowledgeability and friendliness!

Ive been going here for years the people are very nice or very informative you just have to be polite because like anywhere you go if you come out now see theyre going to come up nasty back but if youre sweet as sugar you get what you need at the store

Awful experience . Brought my dog in for vaccination services and I noticed they reused needles for every dog. Sprayed down the needle they used on my dog and refilled it for the next . Absolutely disgusting !

I am so happy with my experience so far with pet resources. They really helped me getting my dog back to health and in a great weight. If anybody needs help with their dog cats or any other animals I highly recommend them. They really care about your pets needs and health.

Helpful staff. Wide range of options for all kinds of pets. They also offer a rewards program for customers. Social distancing in-store is a plus. Happy to have a pet store of this size— esp in this neighborhood. They offer grooming & an on-site vet on select says of the week which is very convenient. I haven’t tried yet these services yet but will update review when I do.

I have been an extremely happy customer of Pest R’ Us for over 15 years. They treat us like family, and always have! Their technicians are professional, thorough, kind and always promptly on time. Their treatment is highly effective and safe for our children and pets. They pay extra attention to any problem areas and are always happy to re-treat after storms or scorpion sighting. (I have had less than 5 scorpions on my property for 12 years, and none inside!) This is an amazing group of people and I will recommend their business to anyone needing pest services. Thank you Eric, you have an incredible business, and thank you Ethan for years of great service!

These guys are kings of reptile 🦎 options, unseen in even Petco, of all places, no joke, youll not be disappointed. I dont like reptiles for pets, gives me the creeps, but these fellows know their game, hands down.

The people here really help you with customer service and concerns. Very informative and help you with any confusion. They are very patient and I love how my son is treated when I come with him. My son has ADHD and they dont judge me or him. Very understanding and patient. Love coming here.

Dont recommend buying fish from here they are over priced and sick. Purchased fish, within a few hours at home in a quarantine tank started showing signs. Was told ohh well it was fine when it left the store. Will never shop there again and wont recommend friends and fellow fish lovers.

I find that this pet shop has made a big change, upgrading their services. There is no doubt they care for animals in general. Owner is very polite and knowledgeable and willing to learn. He runs a good staff who constantly make themselves available to assist customers , as needed. Their prices are within reason and they carry numerous animal brand items/food. My favorite is having my dog groomed. So, depends on how many dogs/cats are booked. But, no doubt your animal is important ,, you will leave a satisfied customer. Prices are reasonable( seasonable discounts are available ).UPDATE: 7/22 inform the store No longer has GROOMING services. :(.. referred to Puppy Resources on Bruckner Blvd. This will require further distance to travel WALKING... but definitely will check it out.

This place has a little of everything! Honestly my kids didnt want to leave lol. Only tiny thing is the birds look sort of cramped in their cages. Im guessing the breeders end up sending Lot of small pets there. But anyways great store great prices for many animals.

The associate Jeff was amazing! He was so patient with me and explained everything to me in full detail, he also taught me so much about my pets needs and what not to do, my experience at pet resources was awesome, love the entire staff is well informed, kind and respectful.

I never leave a review but thank you Jeff and Ben who were super helpful!! When I first walked in Jeff helped me with every item I needed and ALSO provided advice and recommendations for my new puppy. Later on in the evening, I went with my boyfriend again to get more things & Ben helped me. Ben has always been helpful to my family growing up and now helping me with my very own little family. They were both very sweet & kind and helpful. Thanks to both gentlemans for everything they did!!! Will continue to go & if you not sure, this should be your go to for your little fluffy loved ones

Today was a great day, I finally bought my Pitbull terrier his own plush pillow bed. But the best part was the gentleman helping me, I believe it was Jeff or James 🤪lol. Very informative n gave his own personal opinions, n thats a plus. Great store with great workers 🐾

The staff is always helpful. They are always stocked with what you need. I stopped going to local retail pet stores and commute 45 minutes just because they have such a variety and never have issues getting what I need for my beardy. They are also very knowledgeable about the animals.

Absolutely wonderful! I bought 2 kittens here last spring, who just had kittens 2 weeks ago. All you pet needs are covered here, from food to bed! I love it! The staff was wonderful & very help, especially Monique, shes a amazing!

We have been customers since 1987. Eric and his staff have always been reliable and courteous. They go out of their way to give us good service and advice. Our most recent technician, Chris, is prompt, efficient and friendly. We can count on them to get the job done!

I took my dog for grooming and she was practically shaved bald. On top of that her nerves are definitely fluttered she is very irritated by her ears and private area also. My dog is a very friendly dog who’s has been cut prior to this. And did not respond this way. Not a happy customer at all with the grooming services. Patience is a must have when grooming pets. My dog is definitely not behaving the same as prior.

They have everything to satisfy your pets needs as well variety of new pets to choose from. The prices are fairly decent compared to other pet shops and everyone in the store is knowledge of the animals and equipment. Don’t call they usually would be preoccupied with the store because it is fairly big.

The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about my pet needs. I was able to change the living conditions of my baby turtles, they are doing great now. Ive been going to this pet shop since I was little and now Im able to help my daughter care for her (our lol) pets.

Wonderful Pet Store! I travel all the way to this pet store instead of the Pet Discount’s near me. This store has A LOT more of a selection and better prices. Our turtles are so happy with their treats and gifts. They offer food, treats, tanks, leashes, and all types of pets to buy. Tortoises, turtles, birds, mice, etc.“Monique” offers WONDERFUL customer service! She and the rest workers here are so willing to help you find whatever you need and are very friendly instead of an attitude like some places. We are proud to call this our main pet store. I definitely recommend this pet store over any other I’ve tried in the Bronx. 5/5

He and his staff are committed to excellent service, command great understanding of their products and industry and charge very reasonably for their work. I wholeheartedly recommend them for all you “pest oriented” needs!

Who does not like Pet Resources in the Bronx all of their stores are worth a visit. Very friendly employees and always willing to help. Its always busy so that tells you a lot. Ive shopped there for years. They always have what your looking for if not they will let you know when it will be available 😉

Brought about $80 worth of glo fish, 3 died in the bag before getting home which I live 12mins away .. I properly transferred into my tank, my rank water was perfectly fine for fish .. I also had my own 3 glo fish prior to buying these, I transferred the fish exactly how you are suppose to into their new home and about 30mins later ALL fish were dead INCLUDING the 3 I had prior to buying these. The store refuses to give me fish or money back dispite it clearly wasn’t my fault because they were already dying in the bag AND killed my fish I already had. Bad customer service and satisfaction.

Fish there has ich. Staff is ok but really dont relate to you as I waited a long time to be attended to buy fish. There was a heavyset mean lady manager that change my mind ever going there again. Unfortunately fish bought there did not survive. I dont recommend this shop to my worst enemy. Hopes this help anyone in the Bronx. There are better shops like the one in burnside. Small shop but better service.

Great place to buy everything u need for ur pet plus they have a veterinarian that comes Wednesday and Friday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Sunday from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm they only take care the first 15 peoples that comes plus the shots for ur pets are very cheap no more then 60$ for 3 shots I really recommend this place they are very professional 👍👍👍👍👍

I must say ! I’ve been to every high top other pet shop. Well this one in the Bronx (Westchester ) is so well knowledgeable staff but even more ,the owner!! Forgot his name, with every animal and supply they sell! I’m so satisfied with this pet shop and it’s located in the Bronx! The dude KNOWS HIS STUFF! (OWNER) 😎🤙🏼

My experience with pet resources went well . they had a large variety of pet supplys the lady behind the register was very polite and helpful. They also have a lot of items for bully breeds. Id definitely recommend shopping at pet resources .

Good pet store if you live around the area.Quite busy at certsin times of the day but i think its due to the lack of staff. They normally have 1 or 2 people on register but you cant be mad they try their best.I wish that the tanks could be kept a little cleaner especially the reptile tanks.I come here couple times per week and it seems to look ehhh.Staff: depends on who is there can be helpful. They could smile a bit more.Prices: kind of expensive due to the fact is convenient and the next pet store is a bit far.Tip: Try to already know what your looking for or want because staff is pretty much tie up helping other people or on a register :)

We have had PestsRus do our exterminating for years. They’re always very kind, very helpful, whatever we need them to do. We haven’t had scorpions because they are killing off the food for the scorpions by killing the other pests. They always let us know when they’re coming and they are always very professional, Always on time. Great price!

If you want a family friendly environment that offers a range of animals at reasonable cost, than this pet shop is the place for you. Have been going here for many years and can’t complain about me experience ever. I’ve been to other pet shops in the Bronx and the prices were not comparable to this shop. I regretted purchasing from another shop and haven’t made that mistake again.

Rude staff starting with the owener. Never have time to help and always in a very bad mood. Most of the fish in stock seem to always have ich, especially their goldfish. Other than that they have average pricing for stuff.

I walked into this store and fell in love. The Forrest’s in the aquariums they have for reptiles are amazing. They have everything you need. Everything is reasonably priced as well. The staff know their stuff. Petland or Petco just can’t compare.

This pet shop has nice people. But nice people doesnt matter. When they are renovating, they do not move the animals. The animals are constantly consuming dust. In the winter the animals are super cold, in the summer they are super hot. They should stick to just selling things for pets, and not pets. I cant even step foot in there, every time I do, its depressing.

Nice pet store and lovely animals. Some employees seem very nice. Ms Monique is a amazing women and is always happy. Ms jessie is a very helpful young woman, the owner has alot of knowledge on the Animals. I was very disappointed on how the groomer talks to customers very unprofessional.

My dog received dog training from the trainer at this store and he was wonderful! He helped me so much with my dog and shes doing so much better and listening now which is a huge plus for me. Love this store!!

Hello everyone, this place is good for being your pets things. HOWEVER, they are not good for grooming. the guy that does the grooming yells and hits the animals because they dont stay still. i brought my dog here for a grooming and i saw him hitting and yelling at a sweet brown down that was getting his hair cut. DONT BRING THEM HERE UNLESS YOU ARE OKAY WITH THEM BEING HIT. OR MAKE SURE TO STAY WITH THEM. WHEN I WENT, MOST PEOPLE DROP OFF THEYRE PET AND WAIT FOR ROBERT TO CALL. NOT COOL. I STOOD AND SAW WHAT HE DID TO THEM.

Pest R Us have kept us bug free for years. They are so prompt and courteous, always wanting to know if weve had any problems. Weve utilized many different pest control companies in the past and our experience with Pest R Us has by far been the best!

The staff was very helpful and friendly, store was clean with big selection of items, the fish looked healthy and tanks cleaned although overstocked and the classic bettas in tiny plastic tubs and the reptiles were kept inside the bare minimum fr enclosures which worries me about their animal suppliers and the animals heath although most of them looked over all pretty healthy although somewhat stressed and uncomfortable, we need to normalize the concept of fish and reptiles as exotic pets and ban these practices, other than that my experience was very pleasant, I actually went to the same pet store 2 years ago to get both of my small dogs groomed and the groomer at the time seemed very knowledgeable and compassionate towards dogs, the practices need to change but the customer service is quite impeccable

Love this store. Affordable prices, wide range of items for all types of pets, and wonderful sales people who try work very hard to make the customer have full service.

My dog was there 5 hours for grooming and came home so thirsty like she wasnt given any water the whole time. Poor ventilation in the small area where the dog kennels are, only an open back door and a fan. Her hair was uneven and obvious spots were missed. She has cuts near her genitals that has her in a frenzy, and nobody said anything when I picked her up. While leaving, noticed 8 or more fairly newborn parrots in a 10 gallon fish tank with no heat source. This pet store isnt someones passion, its simply a business.

I used to come to this store about 2 years ago while breeding bettas. Now that I am back again breeding snakes they have come a long way. They have way more betta inventory. The snake inventory is much better with the morphs and also availability. They now supply black worms and even almond leaves for bettas. Also aquatic plants. They have salamanders now and African draws frogs. They have other frogs and reptiles like bearded dragons, chameleons, and some lizards. They have other reptiles and aquatic animals that I may not have listed.i gave four stars because I want to see if my snakes babies survive. They feed them sparingly but Im sure alot of pet stores do for money in vs money out purposes.

I dont like the smell. Even though it is a pet shop lol but the workers there have a lot of knowledge about the fish and how to keep the water clean. They are also friendly.

Ive been going here for a while now. I have gotten a bearded dragon , hamster, fish and shots for my puppy. The staff is knowledgeable and always helpful.

The place should be more organized. The staff there does not wear no mask. The store has lots of potential needs more change the animals need more care.

I went here to get some fish to put in my tank, ended up paying $63.00 for 12 baby kaleidoscope fish. The women that worked there said there is no guarantee that all of them would survive implying that some would survive but not all. 3 weeks later all of the fish have died. Not worth the money they’re charging. Also some of the fish had deformities such as missing dorsal fins, curled tail fins etc. Very disappointed.

Love this place staff know their stuff and always help me with what i need . loved the two chinese crested puppies in the window and had a good laugh at some woman saying they are bald because they are sick. ignorance is fixable people pick up a book they are supposed to be bald

Nice and friendly people. Sort of pricey but not to many pet stores available in this particular area.

A friend got her dog groomed here and her dog ended up all bloody and traumatized!!! Would not recommend!!!!

I dont have an issue with service but the owner is price gouging less then six months ago I paid $2.25 for a 1 pound bag of cockatiel/love bird food and now hes charging $3.00 for the same bag i can over stand an increase but not a 75 cent increase thats robbery and price gouging am done Ill take my business elsewhere.

Delia was an amazing help. she assisted me and my family in many ways and was very informative on what i need for my puppy.

He insisted my dog will love some dog food in bag that cost $20.. she ended up not liking it

Hey Ppl this place has made some changes and its Amazing But its saddened Me Not to see the puppies in the window anymore.... Me and My sister use to visit and sing How much is that puppy in the window and now shes gone and No more puppies 😭 Im in disbelief......

Staff is Awesome, informative and helpful, just have a little patience.I purchased a beautiful yellow male parakeet and cage with everything for our home. Thankyou guys

Its an old place, it do not look like a big brand pet store, great customer service, fish 50% are good, the owner good guy and helpful, all really needs is a new to make it feel like a pet store in a store and not a pet store in a garage or basement.

The workers are pushy in getting you to buy more. Plus this place is for emergencies only. I have found this place too pricey, almost everything in that store is found cheaper in petland, Petco, and Amazon

They keep packages as an UPS accesspoint. Be aware of allowing packages being delivered here and they claiming the package is not at the location.

I take my puppy to Rob the groomer. He is excellent with my pup. She is a teacup, very small dog and delicate and He is very gentle with her.

Very reliable pet store. Im a ball python breeder and they always have whatever I need when I needed it. Even LIVE rats and mice in all sizes!

Absolutely repulsive! Walked in just to browse and noticed that the dogs displayed for purchase were eating their own feces! Literally scrambling for it in the paper litter. They looked so frail and sick, two werent even growing hair and had a wierd scaly skin condition. My heart goes out to those poor little ones. Its evident they arent being looked after properly and the workers there are local teens who could give a damn about the condition of the animals. Im calling to report this business immidiately. If you consider your pets as family I would not support this pet store AT ALL.

They have a nice stock of animals with great customer service. Ive been going to this store for over 10 years and love it.

This is a very busy store with good products. Plants and pets. I like the store and its a quick stop at the local pet shop.

The time on google is wrong. Suppose to close at 7:30 but they turn people away at 6:50pm saying they cleaning and shutting down for the day. I ran all the here for nothing

Well on Friday,11, I took my dog to puppy resources 814weschester. The groomer Brandon had two other dogs so I waited for but the grooming that he did on my dog was awful patches all over just like I saw on the two dogs that he worked on I wasnt able to see the grooming but oh my God I got home and had the only heart attack when I saw the work.I paid $65.00 for the grooming but ill never do that again my dogs behavior was off for a while but im not putting her through that again.

Love this place, they got everything you need, theyre very nice, quick service & they know there stuff. Plus close to home. 👍

Its called a Chinese crested hairless👏 its HAIRLESS👍 they grow hair on top of there head and tail!So now that we got that out the way lets go on to lesson #2 puppies eating there feces💩 is in fact normal and typical to see. Also a habit that can in fact be broken. And feel free to look up the information for yourself.. And last but not least lesson #3 If you have no clue to what you say then dont say it everything you said is in fact irrelevant. Dont feel ashame to ask questions Im sure they will gladly be happy to answer them but to try to trow information thats WRONG 👎 is pure ignorance...📣📣 CLASS DISMISS✌😉

Dont come here ever. The store is full of dust, the employees dont have a clue about the items they have in stock. The customer in front of me paid with a card and got a receipt I ask for a receipt when I paid with cash and they said the machine was broken.
