Small dog park. Was a great time at first. My daughter was playing with the dogs another friendly dog owner chatted for a while. We were enjoying it. Until this cranky rude old lady with a poodle showers up. Rude nasty demeanor and talking about the dog people outside of her little clique. It was still going ok at that point but another member of the clique showed up. She put her hands on My daughter playing with the dogs nicely. She then proceed to scold me about how children must be seated while in the dog park. The rules sign actually says its only reccomended... Poor kid was just enjoying a chance to run with her pups but our enjoyable family outing was ended by some Karens. The park itself was ok but the nasty people who occupy make it not so enjoyable.

Nice sized park, usually friendly people but you will run into some unfriendly people.. always be cautious. What you might find acceptable may upset others and cause them to be aggressive ( the people not the dogs lol!).. good to go at the same time to get to know the people and pups who also go at that time and build friendships with them.

This park is on our rotational list of stops depending where we are in location. Large fenced in, off leash areas, specified sides for big and small dogs. Poop bags available on the fences. One con is it does get a big muddy, drainage could use some help as seen in the photos but if its been dry a couple days outside, it clears up pretty okay. Hose available to use if needed. Also open all year round if you need an outlet for your dog and are willing to be out in the cold.

Love this park! People are always friendly and are usually good to remove dogs who are having a bad day. The park does get muddy pretty easily, but thats just Buffalo weather. There is water available for the dogs, too! A life saver when it is warm out!

It’s a nice enough park and the people who own it seem nice but it’s the people who go there regularly that are the problem. They are very snobby and judgmental and not very nice. We took our dog twice but never again.

Really fun park. I was dog sitting for my stepbrother and took his dog here, and she loved it! Lots of friendly people and other friendly dogs. Also, it’s big enough where your dog can run around and burn all of their energy to relax the rest of the day. And there’s seating so you can relax too

My fiancee and I took our dog here, we werent even there for 10 minutes... It was a very poor experience. Our dog is a bigger dog (85 pounds, 1 1/2 years old, 1/2 German Shepard & 1/2 saint Bernard) so we appropriately took him into the bigger dog side of the park. Immediately upon entering through the gate our dog (who is VERY friendly and was just so happy to be outside running around with a chance to play with other dogs, minding his own business) was continuously barked at, chased, and aggressively but at towards his face by a smaller dog, mind you this dog should have been in the dog area for smaller dogs, but wasnt; naturally our dog repeatedly attempted to get away from this smaller dog but the smaller dog kept going. From what we could tell there was no owner around to control their dog, and again naturally this smaller dog was provoking aggression from our dog, luckily our dog is controlled and well behaved enough the smaller dog was not hurt. As we went to leave a lady had decided to chime in that we should remove our dogs harness so that the little dog would leave our dog alone.... Ugh it was VERY frustrating and disappointing visiting this park.

Great dog park. Has 2 sections, one for small dogs and another for large dogs. There is water on site in bowels. The area is well maintained and from what i saw owners pick up after their dogs. There are toys in the park however they have seen better days. Overall i highly recommend it for anyone who loves their dog!

Great space that offers a safe space to both dogs and their owners. People are very welcoming when you bring your dog into the park. In addition there is a handful of people who ensure the dogs have fresh water to drink.

Visited the park on a business trip to Amherst. So happy there is a small dog area! The park is nice and clean and all the dogs and people were very friendly and responsible. We cut our 2nd visit short only because I saw about 9 hawks in less then 10 minutes, they didnt swoop but made me nervous as I have a 6 pound yorkiepoo. Overall great experience.

Volunteer run, supported by donations. Better than most, frequently busy. Bring your (well behaved) dog and have a good time. Occasional muddy puddles after heavy rains. There is a hose outside of the fenced area for filling buckets and water bowls. Gates are currently never locked but there is no lighting. Benches, trees, and a small shelter from rain. Accepts donations of cash and returnable bottles/cans. Donations go towards park maintenance, the city does not subsidize. The space was originally created as a soccer field. The grounds are a former Army Nike missile site that was decomissioned in 1961. Underground missile storage facility is now used as a police firing range. Cinderblock buildings were for security and officer barracks.

Another great Dog Park to add to WNY growing Off-Leash dog parks. Nice to have a dog park thats open year round, regardless of the Snow.Perfectly located in a quiet area and space in Amherst. My Doxies enjoyed interacting with a couple other Doxies that were at the Park at the time. Would love to see this park expand a bit bigger to accommodate the growing visitors and to give our K-9 companions more space to run around. :-)Thanks for all the hard work that goes into making this park possible.

If you value your safety or your dogs safety you will pay careful attention to the types of dogs and their owners NON-compliance with posted rules.Note: the people who think they are the bosses of this place have less concern for behaving dogs and more concerns for vicious dogs. If you can do not take young docile dogs there,as the bosses think it ok for alpha dogs to hump your dog or bite your dogs ears. One man was viciously attacked by a pit bull, and dogs have been injured by aggressive ALPHA DOGS
