I am an experienced dog owner and have always trained my puppies into well behaved dogs. Jasper was my first rescue & at 3 years old, I didn’t expect he’d be too difficult to train. Boy was I wrong! We learned he had anxiety & was fearful, reactive & nippy. I am blessed to have found Off Leash. We got the Aggressive Dog package and it was worth every penny!! Jasper just graduated yesterday and I could not be more proud of his progress! He’s well behaved, patient, obedient & enjoys time in his non fenced yard off leash getting out all of his husky energy!! Special shout out to Chris who was amazing with Jasper, readily available if we had questions or concerns, and built confidence in Jasper, my son and I! I’d recommend you to anyone!!

I just wanted you to know Rebecca did an amazing job . I was very hesitant on sending my girl away for training . I have always done it for every dog I have ever had . But with everything that we have goi g on with multiple businesss I did not have the proper time to do it correctly. Hands down Rebecca did an amazing job. She hit every element needed for ever environment Reign will be in . She is with me 24/7 everyday . Now I can feel at ease when I am out and about with her . Awesome job !! We did the Board and Train for Tucker, our 1 1/2 yr old Golden Retriever, in June. Cassie was Tuckers Trainer. She sent us pictures and videos daily on his progress. Tucker is very high energy and he is much better at listening to us since his training. I highly recommend K-9 Offleash and Cassie. Well worth it :)

I am so happy! My dog Ace did the week long board and train with Justine. She was amazing. I got pictures and videos daily. Justine was real and practical in her training of Ace and very patient in teaching me what to do with him.I picked up a much better behaved dog, but a sad dog because I could tell he missed Justine.I cannot recommend her and Off Least enough!

Update: I have been trying to reach this business for months. By phone, email, even by contacting the BBB. Responding to my google review is evidently the only way they get back to me unfortunately however, offleash k9- your facts are 100% incorrect. Clover had been with me for a few weeks and had had not a single accident, but during her time with your trainer, she had one. And once she was home, it was nearly nonstop but only after your “training”. The trainer never mentioned focusing on this in her many texts, all of which I still have. To address her nature- clover was never fearful before I brought her to your “trainer”. She was not nervous either. She was excited, sweet, smart, and willing to do anything to learn. Unfortunately, your trainer or methods seemed to have scared her into not feeling safe and not wanting to learn. This was also not communicated to me. What was communicated to me was very short videos and a few texts on how she was doing “amazingly well” learning her commands.I never once saw this. The day we picked her up at your facility, she could not do most of the commands she had supposedly been doing so well with. She half way did one after an hour and a half, and the trainer kicked us out to take on another dog, all the while, my dog, had learned nothing.I reached out many many times before two months, because when I had to charge the collar, because that can’t be done while on her, getting it back on her was a nightmare. And when I did eventually wrestle it back on her, she was terrified, as if someone had shocked her so badly during her time with your “trainer” that she was afraid of being abused.Trying to have me drive four hours one way for a “refresher session” when she learned nothing after an entire two weeks, is not what the contract or your site offered. The contract I signed, says you guarantee results after the two weeks (immediately) or my money back. And seeing as you’ve only chosen to respond several months later, did you honestly believe I would just leave my dog completely untrained as your “trainer” did? I am more responsible than that. My suggestion, is that you reach out, and honor your contract, and send a full refund. Your “trainer” and methods did absolutely nothing, even from pick up day.Did a two week board and train with my dog to get her ready for service work training. It was an absolute nightmare. Not only will my dog not do a single command (not even since pickup) she is now no longer house or crate trained, and when I’ve tried to reach out several times, I’ve been ignored or told they will get back to me only to never hear back. They “guarantee” results, but when the results aren’t there, they won’t help.

I had an amazing experience with the Basic training classed. Carissa was great! Excellent communication with appointments/ changes and extremely helpful working me into her busy schedule. My GSP Olivia loved her and picked up very quickly on all of her commands with Carissas help. Everyone is blow away at how far Olivia has come and this program makes dog ownership much more enjoyable and far less stressful!-Bryce

I will absolutely be recommending Rochester K9 off leash training to anyone I know with a dog! I just finished the basic program with my 6 month old Pit Bull puppy and am amazed at how much he was able to learn in 4 sessions. At Hudsons first lesson he did not know a single command and by the end of our four sessions I have no worries about letting him off leash in our yard (which is not fenced in) and have been complimented many times by strangers on what a well behaved puppy he is. I cant say enough about Carissa- she was absolutely amazing with Hudson and treated him as if he were her own puppy. I was nervous at first about using the E collar with him because he was a bit of a shy and nervous dog, but Carissa was wonderful at easing both of our worries and even though Hudson was comically dramatic, his tail was always wagging each session and he was always excited to go to class and practice his homework. We will definitely be back for the advanced classes- not because he needs more practice, but because we both loved going to the lessons so much! Practicing his place command in the picture below :)

We went here with a 3 yr old GSD. hes always been an obnoxious amounts of energy. From a puppy we worked with leash walking, and basic commands. He knew how to sit, stay, lay, come, bed, We took him to basic obedience classes mostly because we had to do that one first. However, working with the trainer was better than expected; because he already knew most commands we were able to round out the rough edges as youd say. He would always sit but as soon as you turn your back hes get up. i can now walk away, run away, go around the corner and he will be in the position I set him in. He always walked pretty well on the leash but I can now have him walk right beside me with a loose leash, and weve been working on off leash even with distractions. Amber was wonderful to work with and was able to answer all the questions I had.

My fiancé and I were going to use them for services but would have had to wait 2 weeks before a drop off, so we chooses to go another route. Upon requesting a refund they were very responsive and stated a refund was placed. For background we paid via echeck not credit card. It has been 5 business days for a process that takes 1-3 business days. When I reached out I got “it’s fine on our end must be your end”. This isn’t possible since they received the funds from us without issue.Please be cautious when purchasing as we haven’t gotten our money back ($1958) and had to start fraud charges with our bank.

It has been 2 weeks since we picked up our one year old puppy Watson from his 2 week board and train with Carissa. I could tell right away she was very passionate about her job and had a great love of dogs. Carissa was a wonderful, knowledgeable trainer. She kept us up dated with messages, photos and videos throughout the 2 weeks. I couldnt believe the change in my dog when he came home from training. He learned all commands promised and we now have a well behaved dog. Thank you so much to Cassie and Off Leash K9 Training!

We went from a puppy pit bull mix who just was a handful. To a puppy who knows what we want her to do. Well worth the money. She is a happier puppy and we are a happier family because of Off Leash and Travis.

Rebecca did a great job with our black lab puppy Diesel! She gave him a great foundation for his future and would keep us updated everyday with videos and a great explanation! We will be going back for further training! Highly recommend!!

Carissa and Off Leash K9 was amazing! With the two week board training, my puppy is less energetic and anxious and more confident and responsive. She does the tasks trained beautifully and, with advice from Carissa, we are continuing to keep the training active as well as add new commands and develop her further. My dog was having the greatest time with Carissa and her dogs as well as the beautiful land they can play in. It is a great environment for any dog and I highly suggest anyone interested take this opportunity to work on their dogs obedience with Carissa.

We just finished with the two week boarding program, and to say we are happy is an understatement. We had Carissa as our trainer from start to finish she was phenomenal always keeping in contact sending videos and pictures of Axel. He went from a bull in a China shop to the best dog, with having a newborn at home we needed him to be calm when needed but also a dog at the same time. In the end of the two weeks the transformation was amazing fully listening and staying on command. We cant thank them for everything they did for me and my family. I highly recommend them your money will not be wasted with anything they do for you and your dog.

Our 7mo old German Shepard Delta completed a two week board and train with trainer Carissa and we could not be happier. She’s been home for two weeks now and the change is amazing. She was a great dog before but Carissa gave her, and us, the tools to allow her to flourish in our home. She has done a full 180 and no longer has the undesirable behaviors she once did. We are confident in her recall ability and her manners. Cannot thank Carissa enough. She not only helped our girl but us as well. Highly recommend Carissa and OffLeash K9.

To say that this has been an AMAZING experience is an understatement. Our trainer Maddy is amazing!! The things shes been able to do with our dog Bella is jaw dropping. She has been super available for any questions weve had and has sent us pictures, videos and an update every single day. I cant wait to see our pup when she comes home!!

Our 7 month old Doodle, Gracie, finished the 2 week Board and Train with Travis last week. Since then, weve walked miles....no pulling, no jumping... its been awesome!During training, Travis kept in great touch with videos and a description of how she was doing throughout the time he had her. I am amazed by all the skills she came away with. We are having fun practicing her new skills at home. Its such a relief to see the training foundation she came home with and how we are now speaking a common training language, seeing the real results we saw with the trainer. Travis really knows what hes doing and couldnt have been kinder to us. We are very thankful for all the work he put into helping us enjoy every day with a well-behaved pup!

I couldn’t be happier with the services that Carissa provided to our pup Bentley. You could tell right away she had a passion for dogs and enjoys what she does. Carissa treated Bentley very well without any harsh tones or strict corrections, he took to her right away.. Carrissa is very knowledgeable and not only taught our pup, but gave us great instruction that we will be able to have and remember forever. K9 Off Leash Training was a blessing to us and our puppy. Amber came to our home to train our 8 month old shih tzu. She is patient - yet strict - and gets results. We were so impressed with her knowledge and how we were trained in the process as well! Highly recommend their services and we will definitely have them back for our next puppy.

Overall, my experience with K9 Off Leash Training was great. We participated in the general obedience program at the Fairport/Macedon location. The training has been very effective and my dogs behavior has drastically improved. The trainers we worked with were awesome. They worked well with our dog and provided me with the tools and guidance to continue the training at home. I would recommend this training to anyone interested.

Great experience!!! Very happy with our training with Justine!!! She was amazing with our “large” puppy Nala (rottweiler) she was so kind and patient with her. We have had great success with her since the training and she is the best family dog! I look forward to doing more advance training with her and K9 off the leash. 👍🏼8-30-18Just did one of our advanced lessons with Josh! It was great! Tried to get ahold of someone with availability in Rochester for an assessment and training and I get no call back when I was supposed to hear from someone for this pass Monday or Tuesday 👎 Ive left like 3 or 4 messages already 👎 Bad communication and customer service.Also Left a comment on their FB page and it was deleted.Update: So sad to see many people got ahold of this company. They seemed nice to me when they first talked to me but misunderstood the places I lived in for Syracuse and sent me an invoice for this. When I told them to please give me the availability for the Rochester Trainers they said they were gonna reach out to them and never called nor answered my texts. Very dissatisfied and disappointed in this company because I did my research on it beforehand. I guess they just suck with some people

We brought our 15 month old chocolate lab James to off leash k9 training to address several behavior issues that were causing significant quality of life issues for him and our family. James was having issues with jumping, lunging, counter surfing, scratching, nipping, growling, demand barking, toy aggression, food aggression, leash pulling/dragging, crate aggression-just overall bad manners. We tried two other training programs previous to Off Leash and were turned away due to James’ behaviors. When I first called Michelle at Off Leash K9 training and explained what was happening she said he sounded like a fun pup to train. I couldn’t believe my ears. Nothing about him was fun. Michelle’s optimism and energy sold me though and made me believe they really could help us. I told her most of our days ended in tears of frustration or from someone being hurt by James. Michelle understood the situation we were in and said Off Leash K9 training could help us and James. We signed up for the 2 week board and train program and was gifted with Kaitlin. We had no idea how much of a gift she was going to be for our family and our pup! After two weeks and daily videos of his progress we picked up our new and improved pup. Words CANNOT describe the pure joy and amazement we felt after our turn over training meeting. Within 60 minutes I teared up and said this is the most I’ve ever loved him!!! ❤️ He was able to sit, down, heel, place and off when requested. He also could relax! James had never relaxed before this! He was like the energizer bunny...he kept going and going and going... James was not capable of doing any of these things consistently when we turned him over to Kaitlin. Actually the only one he did inconsistently was sitting and that was a struggle most times. Kaitlin turned all of our lives around.This program is a game changer! She literally transformed James into a well behaved, polite, fun and loving puppy. We are now able to enjoy our pup and lives again thanks to Kaitlin and Off Leash K9 training!

I cannot thank you all enough. When we got our rescue she was completely feral. Barking 24/7, wouldn’t allow anyone to touch her, couldn’t be leashed or crated, and toileting in the house and unable to be trained since we couldn’t even take her to show where she could go on pads, let alone take her out for a walk. Two weeks with your trainer was transformative. She is potty trained, crate trained, leash trained, etc and while she is still anxious and has periods where she freaks out a bit she is a much more relaxed dog. We can touch her, she doesn’t bark constantly, is even starting to show interest in play. Without this service, I almost certainly would have had to give her up and I know they likely wouldn’t have tried to rehome her. I am now confident that she is going to fully adjust to being part of our family over time and really shine. Rebecca did an absolutely amazing job with her. I would recommend your service to any of my friends or family.

We were so happy with Carissa and her training with Bella. She was so understanding that I was nervous about leaving her for two weeks and she sent regular pictures and videos to show the progress as well as confirming that Bella was doing well. Bella is a 4 lb 1 year old Morkie who rarely came when called and would escape from the house any chance she had. Now she comes when called and does what she is told. Best experience and worth the money for such a well trained dog by a quality trainer!

We sent our Belgian Malinois to the two week training. She was sixteen months old and we were having trouble training her. Joshua was her trainer. He sent us videos every night of her progress. Which made her absence a lot easier on us and very informative. At the end of the two weeks I met with Joshua and our dog Gretchen. He taught me how to handle our now trained K-9 friend. We’ve found the the most important aspect of this training is to continue what off the leash training has started. If you don’t all their training will be in vain. Joshua did an outstanding job with her and I’m sure they bonded he is a great trainer not to mention a United States Marine!

My dog Ivy and I did the 4 sessions with Off Leash K9 Training and we loved it! At first I was unsure about using an E-collar, but Josh the trainer, made everything so easy and simple to learn. The stimulation is very gentle and used very sparingly. I felt the sensation many times myself and it isnt painful but is just enough sensation to get the dogs attention. Ivy was always excited when I would put on her E-Collar because she knew we were going for a walk or to play (aka train). Ivy picked up all the commands much quicker than I thought she would because Josh is a great teacher and the E-Collar method of training really does work! The more time I spend training Ivy the better she gets at the commands and you really do get out of it what you put in. I would highly recommend Off Leash K9 Training to anyone in Rochester.

I highly recommended doing the 2 week board and train. I was hesitant to do it at first because of the cost, but it was best decision I ever made. After only 2 weeks my puppy Cali is a different dog. She always comes when I call, sits in place and won’t move till told, stays by my side during walks and no longer has to jump on every stranger that walks by. I can walk around Home Depot with her off leash and she doesn’t leave my side while we walk around store. She is still her playful self when at home, but listens when needed. If you can afford it then highly recommend Carissa and this company.

So incredibly happy I called Josh at Off Leash Training. Miles my puppy was crazy and out of control to say the least! Before training he had gotten loose and took off running. I was in panic mode as he ran across the road not once but twice and almost got hit. We are not finished with our training yet but what a difference it has been. A few days ago he wiggled out of his harness while I was walking him. Again panic mode set in. I yelled Miles Come! He stopped dead run spun around and ran back to me and sat down. I literally cried. No way if we hadn’t had the help Of Off Leash training would he have come back. We are working on heeling now. If you think you can not afford training they have different packages available. It is affordable for everyone. Trust me you will enjoy your dog so much more and enjoy the changes in behavior. It’s amazing!

My puppy Willow and I worked with both Josh and Justine for her basic training. Each of them were great with Willow and were excellent at answering any questions I had. At the end of Willows last session, Justine was kind enough to give me both of their cards to contact them if I needed. Willow is more confident and well behaved after her training. I will gladly recommend Off Leash K9 Training to all my friends and family. I am so happy with Willows results!

We had the most amazing experience with our dog going to the 2 week board and train!! We never expected Mason to be able to be off leash much less even able to walk on leash very well! He is so much more well behaved and I would recommend this to anyone who needs the extra help and support!! Justine was amazing and we got updates everyday! We cannot thank you enough 💙💙💙

Heidi and I participated in Obedience Training. I expected lessons to be customized based on what I was asked that I wanted to get out of the training, but lessons seemed to be standardized based on lesson plans (not communicated). I think written material to reinforce the lessons would have been helpful. I personally was challenged handling dog, leash, and ecollar remote simultaneously, so we have not sustained use of the ecollar. Having said that, we do focus on training daily, and I think that focus has been valuable as we continue to strengthen our relationship and her training. I most wanted her to learn not to jump up on people, and to walk with a loose leash, and while we are doing reasonably well with loose leash walking, Id give her an F on not jumping up. That did not seem to be part of the lesson plan, although Melie did give us some tips.

Carissa saved our dog and our family! We have a 2 year old black lab who was your typical “bull in a china shop”. We’ve been living basically at the mercy of this crazy dog who had major anxiety around children, loud noises, and other small dogs. We couldn’t have people over to our house and we were ready to re-home this dog. After 2 weeks with Carissa it has been a total transformation. Our dog knows sit, down, place, heal, and his door manners are amazing! I can vacuum my house, take him for car rides and even take him out and about and he’s rocking his commands. Our dog wasn’t the problem, we were the problem! Thank you Carissa- worth every penny!

This has been life changing training for my 115 lb. red Doberman, Dexter. When I inquired about the training, I told Michelle that Dexter was a wonderful dog who deserved to live his best life. We allowed him to train us and because of that he was never off his leash in the yard and he pulled on his leash when walked. He did not get the exercise he needed or deserved. He has a much higher quality of life. We enjoy each even more. I would highly recommend this training. It was worth every penny and more.

I have been so happy with the results of the training. Our dog completed the Basic Obedience training when he was around 7-8 months old. He is now 1.5 years old and listens perfectly to every command. I would highly recommend Rochester Off Leash K9 Training to anyone, whether your dog needs some guidance or you just want to shore up the commands with an already well-trained dog.

We had a dog that was impossible to control. Everything he did was a fight for dominance. We needed him to be able to hang out in the house, off leash, without knocking someone over, stealing our food, or scaring our other dog.We sent him to the board and train program, and worked with Justine. She was amazing. She sent us videos of his progress, each day. Now we have a dog who is friendlier, listens well, and can spend time watching tv with us, without being on a leash. He is a completely different dog. We are so grateful for Justine, and the board and train program!

Our trainer Kaitlyn is awesome. She has only been with us for 4 lessons so far and we have already seen a great improvement with our puppy. He is doing great. Loves when Kaitlyn comes to work with us and is always very happy to see her. Would highly recommend working with her and the off leash K9 crew!

We sent our beloved covid puppy Hudson for Board and Train with Chris. He needed help with basic manners to start with. It was a long two weeks missing him but we got daily updates from Chris with details, photos, videos, etc. We could tell he was not only being trained but loved. He is now perfectly behaved during meal times and is enjoyable to go on walks with - both on and off leash. We couldnt be happier with our experience. Chris and the rest of the crew never made us feel like bad dog owners and took a lot of time to train us (me and my children) on how to work with Hudson. We highly recommend Off Leask K9.

Got my dog enrolled for basic and advanced trainning. Had my first class, very informative and I was shown what I was doing wrong when I was trainning on my own and they have me on the right track for a superior obedient dog. Im gonna know how to communicate with my pup too. And the trainning comes with a e-collar and 15 ft leash and it is a one on one class, so there are no distractions, except for the distractions you want and can be controlled so you can ease your dog into not responding to them. Great place, very happy

We had Carissa train our 3 year old chocolate lab Charlie for 2 weeks. Prior to training he could not be off leash no matter what, otherwise it would be good bye Charlie and I would drive around for over an hour looking for him in fields and then bribe him with a car ride in order to get him home. Now after all of Carissa’s hard work Charlie literally will sit at an open door and not go through it until we tell him to and he will stay inside our heel pocket no matter what. I was worried about my Charlie coming back well trained but not being the same goofy dog as before...well he is just as goofy and hilarious as before it’s just that he actually listens and follows the commands, we can trust him around our chickens and ducks while off leash too!! Honestly, Carissa allowed our baby boy to have the freedom he deserves with the peace of mind my husband and I need. Thank you Carissa!!

K9 off leash training was great. Our dog needed a lot of training and he listens well now (used to jump, pull on the leash, etc) and those arent issues anymore! I appreciated the flexible hours for lessons. Definitely worth the expense.

To Anyone Interested in K9 Off Leash of Rochester,We have owned several dogs and most of them have been Old English Sheepdogs, but nothing prepared us for our newest sheepdog. We got Scout as a pup and as she grew we knew that she definitely had a bit of an aggressive attitude. Add that to the stubbornness that is naturally in the breed and we knew she needed more than we could give her. Thus we took to the internet and discovered K9 Training Off Leash of Rochester. We decided, given her issues, that Scout needed the two week board and train program.Although we were hesitant to give our pup up for two weeks, it turned out to possibly be the best choice we have ever made. Our trainer, Kait, was wonderful to our dog and to us. Kait kept us informed on everything that Scout was working on and sent tons of videos so that we could see her progress. As for progress it was slow, not because of Kait, but as stated, our dog was definitely very unique. This did not deter Kait. She worked diligently and even offered to keep her beyond the two weeks to make sure that Scout would become the dog that we knew was in there somewhere. When we picked up Scout we could not believe her behavior. She knew all of the commands and her aggressive mentality became manageable. As we worked with her on our own we did run into a slight problem-- Scout liked to lunge at cars (not a great trait). I texted Kait and she immediately set up a time to meet. Kait worked with Scout and I, and within a half hour the problem had been fixed (or I should I say managed). Kait even checked in a day later to see how things were going (Who does that???). As you can tell we have been very pleased with our K9 Off Leash experience. Our trainer was absolutely a joy to work with and she was able to bring out the dog we knew was in Scout. In the past I always watched people walk their dogs and if they were well trained I was so jealous of them. Today I am “that person”. I now have a dog that walks right with me and is well behaved. We have just completed the 8 session course with Justine. Our Puli, Racka, was an anxious, unhappy boy before meeting Justine. She is a magical person who gave him a new leash on life. We had taken Racka to Puppy Kindergarten four times {8 week sessions}. If anything, he became more anxious. He was unpredictable and began biting. We were in despair. Thank you Off Leash K9 Training! We were struggling with our 7 month old golden retriever puppy. He was not listening, was very mouthy, jumped up on everyone and pulled horribly on the leash. We had tried a puppy class and private lessons elsewhere and they did NOTHING to help him. Thanks to the basic obedience package with our trainer Nick we now have a dog who doesnt drive us crazy anymore! He listens!!! I was so worried about hosting Thanksgiving -- but our dog was so well behaved. THANKS NICK!!!

Our 10 month old GSD, Klaus just completed the board and train with Josh- he is a changed dog! He did a wonderful job with Klaus as well as training us to be able to keep up with it. I would recommend this to anyone looking to bring the best out in their dog!

Justine was Great. Rufus came back from two weeks of training a changed Doberman. I only wish I had received more training myself. I found I was very inconsistent early on when working with him. Otherwise a wonderful experience and I would recommend Off Leash K9 and Justine to anyone.

Off Leash was great. Very accommodating to our schedules. Josh (our trainer) was amazing! Patient, easy going and super aware of our dogs and how they would respond to different things. He is a true animal lover. I would highly recommend them.

The facility in Fairport is wonderful. Every trainer I met displayed great patience and understanding with both dogs and their owners. I adopted a GSD that had suffered some abuse, so she does NOT like strangers. She still doesnt like them, but shes gone from lunging and barking at people to sitting calmly and listening to my commands. My neighbors say the difference is like night and day.Off Leash trains the owners as much as the dogs to understand why the dog is acting out. This insight allows me to continue to further my dogs training on my own. It does take time, but you will get out of it what you put into it. I highly recommend them to anyone with a problem pooch.

I was at the point where I thought I might have to find a new home for my Old English Bulldog. He was very aggressive toward other dogs, but only when I took him for a walk. Carissa was fun and very knowledgeable during our dog training classes. Our 8 month old Yorkie really responded and took a liking to her. She trained us as much as the dog. I would highly recommend her to any dog owners.

Off leash K9 Training is an amazing experience for both the humans and the dogs. Packages are built progressively on skills achieved by both the handler and the dog. Lessons are also individually customized by the trainers to ensure maximum benefit is achieved from each session and that the personal goals of the handler are incorporated to improve difficult behaviors at home and in the community.I have recommended this business to many and one individual drove 7.5 hours to get the Off Leash K9 experience.❤️

Off Leash K9 Training was absolutely one of the best decisions we made for our 7 month old Black Lab pup. We put our puppy through a basic puppy class at PetSmart but knew that we wanted to continue that training and with a little bit more of an advanced program. OFK9 did an awesome job not just training out puppy but working with us and teaching us how to take what we learned at class and apply it at home to reinforce the skills. A+ trainers and program.

We brought our 1yr old puppy(Zoey) in for an overall basic training. Shes two now and shes an absolute rock star. Her favorite place to practice and demonstrate her skills is on long hikes in Vermont. We couldnt be happier with the results. Top notch staff! I really liked that they had a location for us near Fairport that was indoors as well. The trainers were all very helpful. Followed a regimen, yet applied their own flare. Highly recommended!

This is a great customer care company and really works with you and your schedule. Most importantly the trainers are...... “ in my opinion are the best !!” My dog was very comfortable with them right from the beginning. The trainers worked with me diligently and patiently to make my dog the obedient canine that my wife and I strived to get him. Very very happy with the outcome .

Our Dutch Shepherd Mabel completed the 2 week board and train and we are very happy. She was a high energy 5 month old working dog who was quite stubborn. She was destroying our house in the process. Nick was the one who worked with her. He kept us updated with videos and pictures, and he is also there whenever I have any questions. Mabel is now awesome in our house and is really fitting in with the family with her newly learnt manners. At under 6 months old, people can’t believe how well she now listens... and frankly neither can we! Thank you again Nick for your help.

Very exceptional experience. Two week board and train was worth every penny! Jaxson a bullmastiff male is normally a handful. After training I have every confidence he is under control. The hardest part for me is training myself. That’s why it’s important to keep training after the dog is home. Really appreciate the trainer, Carissa, and her knowledge and always available to answer my endless questions.

Late in the spring of 2018, my husband and I decided it was time to expand our family.The whole time preparing for the puppy I was SO excited. In July (2018) we brought home a Dog, a puppy actually 8 weeks old....The translation from being a carefree human, to a brand new dog mom was very intense for me. I found myself super anxious. We gave the puppy a name, Lana, but she didnt know that was her name. Before she came home to us she was taught to go potty on a pee pad, so at our house she peed on anything that wasnt the hard floor. She got into my potted plants etc. all things that an 8 week old puppy would do, yes. But I was stressed. I couldnt believe that something I wanted so badly was causing me to feel so overwhelmed! I needed help. I found Off Leash on facebook. All the videos they posted were amazing! All types of dogs, big, small, old, young... it didnt matter! These dogs were walking through crowds, not caring about the humans, dogs, food or even random trash on the ground! And these dogs came when you called them! I want my puppy to be like that!!! I called Off leash and set up a puppy consultation. We met with the trainer named Dylan. He talked with us all about the training process and just about dogs in general. I could really tell he was genuine in his love for dogs and his job. He made me feel a lot better. We decided to do the 2 week board and train program. It was worth every penny! I was nervous about dropping my baby off to Dylan but he was very reassuring that she would have a wonderful time and she would come back to me a rock star! The entire 2 weeks I was given updates on Lanas progress every day! And after the 2 weeks, at pick up, Dylan worked with us humans on all the things that were new to us that were now part of my dogs every day life. I already had an amazing dog but now Because of off leash Syracuse I now have an even more amazing dog! A big thank you to everyone involved in this company. And especially think you to Dylan for being so great with Lana.

Would definitely recommend training at K9! My dog Abbee and I had 4 sessions and we both learned an amazing amount in that time. We walk every day - and many times with other dogs and my dog, as sweet as she is, was the cause of much stress, pulling, impulsive running off (well, you get the picture). Zach addressed everything we needed in 4 sessions. Abbee loved the work! So did I! Walks are again a joyful time and she understands exactly whats being asked of her both in and out of home. Carissa worked with our family dog, Kimber, for 8 lessons. She is great with dogs and you can tell she really knows how to train. She was patient with our group (mostly the 4-5 of us humans that came to every lesson) and worked with Kimber well.Kimber used to constantly pull on the leash during walks and now he heels almost perfectly (and if its not perfect right away, he corrects it easily). He used to react aggressively any time another dog was in the room and now he is much better at controlling the reactivity.Wed definitely recommend K9 and Carissa to anyone with a dog who needs some training!

We had our hands full with a 3 year old and 6month old baby ... and then we got a puppy. She didn’t listen to commands, constantly terrorized our 3 YO and we were on the brink of rehoming her. Insert Carissa and OTL! After two weeks in their train and board program our 6 MO boxer is a new dog. She listens, walks like a champ and now cuddles with our son like they’ve been best friends all along. If you’re thinking about sending your dog... DO IT!

Bear was your typical shepherd listened when he wanted, stubborn and high energy. Now he’s a a well behaved little boy and still his little goofy shepherd self. Justine did such an amazing job with him, and I felt 100 percent at ease with her having him for two weeks. The daily updates, the videos, they definitely brighten up your day. I highly recommend offleash k9 training, I knew Bear had manners but I didn’t realize it would bring out the best of him all around.

Our German Shepherd Julius turned one today! He was so well behaved today with lots of family and children at our house for the holiday. We did the Basic Obedience Package and am amazed at the results! I can walk off leash with our Bullmastiff with no concern that he is going to take off on me and he responds great to verbal commands. I would and have recommend this training to anyone who wants training that yields great results.

I’m a little surprised by all of the five star reviews, perhaps we just didn’t have that great of an experience. The training itself was good, I feel that you’re basically being trained how to use an E collar. But good luck having to reschedule an appointment or even find 4 appointments close to one another. There will be weeks and even months between appointments. Which makes this less than ideal when you are trying to maintain consistency especially in the beginning. They also don’t tell you who your training session is with when you are scheduling so if you want to have the same trainer you’ll have to ask them personally about their availability and schedule something on the side. All in all, have I seen a difference in our dog? Yes. But the sheer inconvenience of scheduling and lack of customer service support I would not recommend this training service.

I had a great experience with my 1 year old frenchie mix. Her trainer Nick was great and was very easy to work with. By the end of the first lesson she was already really paying close attention to my direction. I highly recommend OLK9, definitely worth the time and money!

Today I picked my 5 month old Bernedoodle, Izzy, from the 2 week board and train with Carissa! I received videos and updates everyday! Carissa always communicated every detail and was very professional. So far the transformation is amazing! She learned everything that I was promised. Izzy came home healthy, happy and well trained! I feel confident from what Carissa has taught me that I can continue to reinforce what Izzy learned during the training.

The lessons are thorough but led at a pace that allows for success for the dog and the owner. The activities are easy to carry over at home and the pace/sequence of skills is achievable. Our little guy has shown so much success and progress in just 3 lessons. We now enjoy walks without pulling and reaction and games of fetch in the backyard with no worries of running.

Absolutely AMAZING experience from our trainer and his communication to our girls coming home and obeying. We were so worried it was going to change their personality or make them robots but we have our fun-loving crazy dogs who will calm on command and listen. We have dogs we dont have to fear getting loose when the gate opens. I would pay for this again and again given our outcomes i NEVER thought possible!

I am writing this review with the hope of helping someone else decide if they should get training for their dog with issues, let me explain why.I have a 1yr. rescue shep/lab mix named Kona, we took her in at 4 mos. and she was a handful, whenever we tried to walk her she was like a bucking bronco trying to escape from that dreaded collar, and most of the time she would. Not fun! She couldnt handle car rides, so this made getting into the car a problem, again she would try to escape. This would happen no matter where we tried to take her, even at obedience classes she would buck, cry, bark, and the trainers response was Kona is very independent No one could help us. We looked into a board and train here in NJ but became skeptical after reading horrble stories and bad reviews plus we were completely opposed to e collar training, it is only safe in the right hands but where do I find those hands. I gave up on the hope of having a dog that I could enjoy a walk with.One day a friend of a friend actually knew Dylan and informed me what a kind, caring and knowledgeable trainer he is, plus Kona would be staying at his home and not in a kennel type atmoshere which was very important to me.So Kona and I drove the 5 hr. trip to start her 2 week board and train. Did I mention Kona gets car sick? Actually, the morning of our trip to Syracuse as we were putting Kona in the car she escaped her collar once more, it took us 45 minutes to find her and when I did I had to put a trail of treats going into the car.I remembered that scene from ET.I knew then something had to change I didnt feel too bad about leaving her because I knew If I didnt, she would eventually get hit by a car.Dylan stayed in contact throughout the day by text, picture and videos. Dylan soon discovered that Kona was not being stubborn at all, her bucking bronco act was because she was frightened and was trying to escape it. This all made sense now, when she becomes fearful her instinct is to run from it. Dylan was the only one to recognize this and began helping Kona face and address those fears in a calm manner.Two weeks later...I have an obedient, confident dog that I can take anywhere and loves going for rides in the car.So yes, I highly recommend. Thank you Dylan!!

After some intial confusion with getting started K9 Training was asking to speak in person to clarify things, first training was shivering cold but very very clear and productive. with in days and very little effort my I had the best every walk with my dog, it was a pleasure to be walking with him as WE walked together, instead of a back and forth argument with the leash.looking forward to the rest.

I just wanted to give a HUGE THANK YOU to Travis, for training our stubborn Foxhound (Buster.) I was kind of hesitant to send our dog to a 2 week training, but it was money well spent. Its a joy to walk him now, he knows the commands of heal, place, sit, down, and stay.

Dave is awesome. My little Chewy has severe anxiety and attention issues. We knew it would take a while to see progress and even though i would get discouraged, he kept telling me one day it would just click - and it did! He’s so much better than he was. My Mocha was very energetic and hard to work with before she went to K9 training. No she can run freely safely to work off the extra energy off leash. We are much happier together.

Our dog was fearful and this training was not for us. He ended up in a quivering puddle and it took us weeks to get his confidence back up. I think if you have a confident dog that is difficult to train then this would work for you

Henry has definitely improved with just 2 lessons. We can go for walks again! We have a way to go but I have great confidence in Sam , our trainer, shes awesome and very professional😊

Have had a great experience with OLK9! Our GSD is well behaved, socialized and is experiencing a fantastic life as a trained member of the family.

Its been 2 weeks since our dog Apollo finished board and train with his trainer Josh. We are so pleased with his progress! Apollo was well trained on a leash before but it is so much nicer to be able to take him everywhere with him heeling perfectly off leash. Before training Apollo had a bad habit of jumping on our guests and was very excited around other dogs. Now he is able to be put in his place and will greet our guests calmly. Apollos confidence has also grown ten fold and we are now able to take him on exciting new adventures including kayaking and boating! Well worth it!

Hudson is my 1 year old German Shorthaired Pointer. He just finished two weeks with Justine. Hudson was always a dog with an amazing personality, but his high energy and stubborness was sometimes too much. Walking or running him was a struggle because he would always pull and yank on the leash. He would see a person or a dog and go crazy. Off leash he would roam and would ignore even his own name.He has been home for a few days and the change is amazing. His recall is excellent, he is listening to commands and in just a few days back home I have seen dramatic continued improvement. I havent used a leash outside, inside or on a walk. He is the same loving and compassionate dog, but he just listens. In fact, he seems to be even more compassionate as he loves the affection after he does what is asked of him.I did extensive research about dog training prior to going with Off Leash K9. I tried positive reinforcement classes to no avail. I was initially reluctant to invest so much in my dog, but I learned it is just that, an investment. I am so happy with how he turned out. Justine communicated with me everyday, videos, texts and pictures. Do not look anywhere else, this is the place to take your dog.

We have a very large St. Bernard/ Lab puppy (10 months) and he was hard for us to manage properly. We knew that in order to enjoy him we needed help. A friend referred us to K9 Off Leash training and we could not be happier! Our big fellow, Bo Kelax, is my 15 year old daughters dog that we got as a therapy dog for her. She even started his own instagram @BoKelax and loves to post about him, but as he got bigger it became increasingly harder to take him in public with him trying to drag us with his leash on! When I talked to K9 they let me know that they can also train for therapy and we were thrilled. Of course we were hesitant to let Bo go away for 2 weeks, but we knew it was best for him and us! Our trainer was Carissa, who I cant say enough good things about! She is wonderful and we feel like she is part of our family now because she has helped us so much! Its not easy taking a 115 pound dog into your home, vehicle, out in public, let alone training him! She worked wonders with him! Bo is so loving, but doesnt realize his size and when he runs into you it knocks you over! He no longer does this, and walking without a leash is just amazing! Getting him to PLACE when guest arrive is remarkable! The biggest issue we had was him chasing our vehicle down the road when our daughter was in it, after two corrections, he no longer does this! Thank you Carissa for your patience, excellent teaching (not only Bo, but us as well), we now have a dog with manners and we are so grateful for what you have done for our family! I must admit that this training is great for doing our weekly photo sessions with him as well! He is just so photogenic! The fact that our 12 year old and 15 year old can now manage a dog this size is WONDERFUL! WE LOVE YOU CARISSA!!!!!!!

Long wait times for first session, multiple trainers without necessarily having a consistant trainer, and the necessity of paying prior to access to scheduling info made me walk away. They are all about the money, either you pay in full prior to seeing the scheduling. Or they require your banking info to do bank drafts.

HE HAD MY HYPER DOG CALM AND ALREADY IN PLACE COMMAND , MIKE SENT ME A VIDEO ON THAT 2ND DAY AND COULD NOT BELIEVE MY EYES, MY LOUIE WAS CALM AND LISTENING TO MIKES COMMANDS. HE SENT ME DAILY VIDEOS AND I WOULD SHOW FRIENDS, THEY COULD NOT BELIEVE IT WAS THE SAME DOG. WE PICKED LOUIE UP AFTER 2-WEEKS TRAINING AND MY DOG ACTUALLY LISTENED TO ME AND DID ALL THE COMMANDS HE WAS TRAINED TO DO.. YES IT IS EXPENSIVE, BUT WELL WORTH EVERY PENNY. MIKE , TRAINER, WAS SUPER NICE AND KEPT ME UPDATED DAILY. I COULD SEE HE AND LOUIE BONDED .HE SAID TO ME AT THE END OF MY TRAINING TO CALL HIM ANYTIME IF PROBLEMS OCCUR. 10 STARS TO MIKE WHEELER,DOG TRAINER.

Benny came to me as an easily excitable rescue with no manners and a dangerous enthusiasm that could put others at risk, especially kids and grandparents.Over the course of the 2 week board and train I witnessed, thru almost daily videos, his transformation into a mannered, eager to please 1 1/2 yo that has confidence in public spaces and with other animals. His life is so much more fun. He gets more activity now that he knows what good behavior is. A pleasure to walk, and to introduce to other people. Thanks to Cassie the trainer who put so much effort into my best friend!

Carissa provided a wonderful and fun learning experience for Cookie. It is much more enjoyable walking with her and Cookie happily responds to all the commands she was taught. It is very difficult to be without your dog for the two week training program but the results speak for themselves! We are so thankful for Carissas talent, love and kindness to our Cookie.

Amy was fantastic for our first visit. We really look having her work with Savannah so that she can be a therapy dog for our 7 year old with special needs. I thought the first visit would only be a evaluation / consultation. Amy went beyond that on the first visit and began working with Savannah. She also provided us with a lot of valuable information and tips. We are grateful to have met Amy. She really connected with my wife also. That is important because she will be the one participating in the training sessions the majority of the time.

This training provided a lifeline for me and my 3 legged golden doodle, Snicker. We began with Carissa at lesson one of the basic obedience package. She was patient and considerate with this 75 year puppy owner. After about 10 days of trying to practice with him unsuccessfully, we changed over to board and train. 2 weeks with Carissa and he is a new, obedient sweetheart. He heels, places and works his darnedest not to jump! It is quite incredible. She maintained great communication with me while he was with her. There was no wondering how he was doing. I am thrilled with the results 5 days after the turnover. I think Carissa is truly a dog whisperer 🥰🐶

The best decision that I made for our dog and our family! My husband and I worked with Justine and did the Advance Training with our dog, Sadie. At the time Sadie was 6 months old and an energetic Hound Puppy. The training was just what she needed to focus her energy. Justine was great through the entire process and was so helpful to make sure that all of our questions were answered and that we were going through everything that Sadie needed to be successful. I 100% will use Justine and Off Leash K9 Training again for any other fur babies we get in the future.

Highly recommend off leash K9 training and our trainer Justine!!! Our 10 month old pitty mix Benji just finished his 2 week board and train and we cannot say enough great things about his experience! He now listens, knows his commands and manners. Justine provided us with the appropriate tools and education to continue his training and reinforcement at home. Because of this I know he will continue to be the best version of himself. He has been home for a few days and is still his happy playful self but actually listens. We have not seen some of his previous unwanted behaviors such as chewing through his leashes!! I am so thankful to be able to have a dog for years to come who I can take everywhere with me and who will listen through distractions!! Benji is going to live his best life because of Justine and his time spent with her. She sent amazing videos, pictures, and updates every day which made missing him hurt a little less. She treated him as if he were one of her own and I am forever grateful for this!!! This experience was completely worth it and Justine is #1 in mine and Benji’s eyes!

I did the 2 week board and train program for my 9 month old Australian Shepherd. My trainer was Josh Snyder and I couldn’t be happier with the entire experience. The results are incredible and my pup does really well listening now. He knows sit, come, place, heel, off, down, and long distance down, as well as door manners and not jumping on strangers. Stay is also implicit in the commands since he gives full attention to me until I release him.I’m so happy being able to play with him outside off leash and he absolutely loves the freedom to run around untethered. He can roam around as he likes but comes when I call him and stays by my side when asked to heel, so I never need to worry that he’ll run away.Josh was the perfect trainer too. I really like his methodology for training since he keeps it fun for the dog, simple for the human, and it’s clearly effective while maintaining the dog’s loveable and unique personality. It’s obvious that Josh is very passionate about what he does, and it was very reassuring to leave my dog with someone who cares for him as much as I do. I’d highly recommend this program to anyone that wants to experience their dog’s full potential and truly enhance their relationship with them.

We just put our first of two dogs through the basic program with Carissa as a trainer. They worked with our tough schedule for the lessons, which made it a lot easier on us. Second dog starts in a month or so. We have adopted two German Shepherds, ages 1 & 3, and they came to us with very little training. With Carissa’s help, our 3 yr old now has his freedom. We were able to walk him down the canal bank this weekend with no leash, as he now listens very well, returns to us when called, knows “come, place, sit, down and heel”, all within 4 weeks. You have to put the time in with the dog, but the program works!! Totally worth it!!

We worked with Josh, who is excellent. We would highly recommend him to anyone who needs help with their dog. Our dog would bark at everyone and scare them. When he first met Josh, Josh and I were both nervous. After just four visits he was well-behaved, loved Josh, and even played with the children at the park. What a wonderful change!

At first I was very reluctant to leave my little Yorkie in the hands of a “stranger” for 2 wks; however, Justine made me feel very much at ease as soon as I met her. I could tell she was genuinely invested and sincere. Justine sent videos/photos each day and was open to any questions I had during the stay. Frankie is a changed dog. Thank you Justine

Kaitlin did a great job with my little dog Jack. He was problematic on walks and did not like other dogs. From the very first lesson we saw progress. We were consistent with our training and Jack is a well mannered boy today!

We have had 3 sessions with our 1 yr old cocker Charley with Nick. Already we have seen such improvement in Charley listening and behaving. Nick is always very patient and always praising Charley. This program is worth every penny of your investment! In one months time (four lessons), our pitbull mix has completely transformed into a dog we love to be around. While he was always a sweet dog at heart-- we used to have constant issues with mouthing/nipping/biting of hands, clothing, rugs, blankets, pillows, and cushions. He would look for trouble in the house, and would often get overly excited/agitated when playing with toys or other dogs. He now listens to commands with far more consistency, is overall a calmer dog, and seems so much happier because he understands how to please us. We have been able to put away our time out crate and trust him more in the house. He is more mindful with his mouth, and is even doing better with dog socialization. We can have guests over without worrying he will pull on their clothing and jump on them constantly. We still have a lot of work to do, but are excited for spring and summer when we can play off leash in the park and go to more public places with our dog. Thank you Justine and K9OL!

Im extremely unhappy with the results, it was a complete waste of money. My pup went through the two week board and train program, and despite the continued training I had to do for the following 12 months as required, using the advice and instructions from the Trainer and Owner, my 135 pound pup still doesnt listen whatsoever. Even with the collar turned up past what was initially advised, He doesnt come on command, He doesnt listen to any of my commands, He trys to chase everything he sees, He wont even acknowledge me when calling his name. Im also very dissatisfied with the lack of communication, and response time, I was given by the owner, as well as the trainer. I dont ever leave reviews, however considering the apparent demand this company has, I felt I needed to let others know. It is a lot of money wasted, I wish I would have chosen a different training facility.**** UPDATE: In Response To The Owner ****Since Im not allowed to respond to the Owners response to my initial review, Iam responding through here.Karen,I believe you are leaving a review on the wrong company page. Our program does not have a required 12month continued training. Our 2 week board and train also has FREE refreshers for life.We have not received any emails or phone calls from you nor do we have a record of ever doing business with you. How you can say you never received any emails or calls from us is a flat out, blatant lie. So is your comment about not needing the required 12 month continued training which was what you initially said. When we told you we were not happy with the results we received, and for very good reasons, you explicitly said, via email and calls, it could take our boy up to 12 months, continued training, to reap the benefits of your 2 week board and train program. The FREE refreshers for life you speak of consisted of 1, half hour visit, with our Trainer. Maybe you should review your records, you will have absolutely no problem finding the receipts for monies paid to you, from us, for your services. I have the receipts myself if you would like me to post, as well as all of the emails betweenus. Unfortunately Im unable to provide our actual calls, however I do have the dates we called and spoke to you. Please be honest when responding to honest feedback that your clients leave, I would at least appreciate that. After everything we went through with you, we dont want to bring our pup back again, nor trust in your services.

The training at Off Leash K9 was excellent and the trainer was caring and responsive to our dog and to our needs. I highly recommend them and it was well worth the price.

We adopted a rescue German Shepherd and he had some behavior issues. Justine helped us work with Zeus to get him to where we can take him in public and enjoy our new puppy, he turned 1 at the end of June. Thank you for all your amazing input and support.

Outstanding board and train with Josh for an 8 month old, male, Australian Kelpie. Daily progress videos and ongoIng text updates coupled with exceptional and visual progress during the 14 days. Great intake meeting to assess concerns followed by a lengthy post training meeting to familiarize me with commands, suggested follow through, and familiarization with off leash handling. 5 star rating for value, performance, results and a readily available go to source to answer professional training questions. Literally watched my Bravo go from on leash to off leash with assured performance. It doesn’t get any better than this. Most importantly it was readily apparent Bravo bonded with Josh from 1st day and that Josh respected Bravo.Since initial training, I’ve had follow up calls from Josh to check on Bravo and to “fine-tune” me to best practices for Bravo. This kind of dedication is hard to find.I enthusiastically and without reservation recommend the Off-leash K9 team; you will not be disappointed.

I am so glad that i found off leash K9 training / 1year ago I adopted my dog Houdini/ he had been a run away and true to his name had lots of tricks up his sleeve/ it became apparent I needed help to train him/ I made the appointment and scheduled 4 classes with off leash/ they were so helpful and the training was spot on/ all the trainers I met were knowledgable/ patient and just super nice/my pup and I are now as happy as can be /he has good manners and knows what i want him to doIf you have a dog and want to have a rewarding experience/life together schedule some classes and you will go from frustration to appreciation. Your dog will finally get what it is you want from him/ her I am so glad I did and I am looking forward to the next 10 years together with Houdini

Carissa was our trainer. She worked with our hyper, high energy, stubborn 9 month old Doberman. We were struggling with behavior issues, dog aggression and she was able to help us with all of that. I brought home a new dog. There is a new trust between dog/owner.

My wife and I picked up our 1.5 year old GSD, Záviš, from his two week board and train program earlier this week and I’ve been having a hard time putting into words how thankful I am that we found this place.Záviš was horrible when taking him out of the house, pulled on the leash, barked, and made it so that everyone around was terrified of him. A simple trip to the vet was a two person operation, and it was still extremely difficult. He never listened to anything we told him to do and we were fully convinced he was untrainable.Our trainer Nick was absolutely amazing. He sent me daily pictures, videos, and updates on how Záviš was doing, which made the two weeks much more bearable! The day we went and picked our boy up Nick made sure that we were 100% comfortable taking him home, and ensured us that if we needed anything just to give him a call!Since getting Záviš back we have been able to take him places with us, enjoy a meal without begging, and be able to let him outside without being hooked to his lead or a leash.Two weeks is a long time to be away from your four-legged child, but it is so worth it. We love all of his new skills, and we cannot wait to show them off to others!Our next pup will definitely be going to Off Leash, I would recommend the two week board and train program to anyone!
