East Islip Animal Hospital

I am one staring because of the staff who works at the desk. I have been going here for a little over a year with my dog and every single time without fail I get attitude or sass from someone on the phone or someone at the desk. For my first visit the staff seemed friendly and welcoming but after a few visits it feels like they are miserable and are just trying to make every customer that talks to them equally as miserable as they are. They constantly are rude asking questions like what happened now? or give us attitude for asking questions about my dog. The doctor himself is great very kind and great at what he does however I think it is absolutely ridiculous the constant attitude that comes when speaking to someone over the phone or at the desk....

The WORST veterinarian office I’ve been to in 10 years of owning a dog with allergies!!Waited for 50 minutes for a very simple allergy shot!!! The doctor himself showed up for 1 minute to administer it and that’s it!!! I couldn’t ask him ANY questions that I had!! His assistant before him was not helpful at all! Assistant measured my dog’s temperature and looked in her ears, that’s it. In the end I was charged $130 JUST for the “visit and consultation “ ( what consultation they’re talking about I’ve no idea, I saw the guy for ONE minute!!!) , excluding the shot charge.they gave me estimate for $1800 for teeth cleaning!!! (I have tiny doggie)NEVER coming back and highly do not recommend!! They don’t have your pet’s interest at heart!!!

Imagine a vet that your dog gets excited to go to... Thats this place! In all my decades of owning dogs, Ive never seen such an incredible group of legitimate pet lovers. They are incredible. If I could give 6 stars, I would. Thank you, East Islip Animal Hospital for being the very best!!!

Everyone is very kind, scheduling is a breeze. Dr. Oddo is the best. He is very thorough and explains everything in great detail. He also gives alternatives to surgeries and medications if Im concerned, very patient doctor. I always know my dog is in great hands.

I’ve been bringing my labradoodle Zuzu here since she was a few months old ( she is almost 8 yrs old now). I can’t imagine taking her anywhere else. She love both Doctors and all the staff, especially Toni, who grooms her and does a great job. Thank you all for loving my fur baby!

To Dr.Macdonald and staff, it took me a few days to get my composure after losing our beloved cat Mittens. We cant say enough about the Wonderful and compassionate staff that took care of her. From our first Day we felt confident that mittens was getting the best care . Dr. Macdonald was wonderful, explained everything to us and did everything she could to help her. She was kind and gentle with her along with her staff and we will always be grateful for everything she did. I am so grateful for both doctors and all the staff at VCA. They treat my pooch, Gizmo, like one their own. Would never ever take him anywhere else. They are the best.

Have seen 2 of the Vets and we are happy to have their knowledge to help care for our dog. A 12 yr old Dane/Lab needs all the love he can get - and the payment plan is terrific! So glad were found them.

Each and every staff member at this hospital are exceptionally caring! I trusted East Islip animal hospital with my 6 week old kitten and boy it was the best decision! Chester is now 6 months and had his neutering surgery today! I was anxious when I dropped him off but Jannette assured me they would text me and send pictures and keep me updated on his surgery and they deff did! They sent me pics while I was at work and called me to let me know how great he did! Thank you to Dr McDonald, she is awesome! And to everyone whom shows my Chester love along the way ❤️

Today my pup scrappy had an emergency . When I say every single staff member was more then helpful I mean it . Scrappy and I are so happy ans grateful for every ones love , compassion and fast actions . I can not thank you all enough!!!

Love the place it was nice and the vet was the best Ive ever seen he took his time to explain everything and answer all our questions and concerns and gave us and array of options for our dog who we had to put down do to cancer. This was our second opinion vet.

The staff is always amazing and helpful. Dr. Mac is fantastic, kind, and will explain things in a way you understand with out talking down to you or speaking in all medical terms.

This building is not immediately noticed in traffic and the parking lot is very small (maybe 4-5 cars). Inside is clean and the staff is friendly and professional. I waited about 25 min. before being seen with my 2 Terriers. The vet is always pleasant and professional, but all we needed was a kennel cough vaccine and refill on heartworm meds. I was told they must have an exam again otherwise they could not get the vaccine. Cost $ 73.00 each ($ 120.00) which I felt was Unnecessary since they both had full exams LESS than a year ago.!Then they would not refill our heartworm without first doing a blood test $ 65.90 each ($ 131.80) which I also thought was Unnecessary SINCE they had been given it every month steadily!. Add the cost of vaccines which is ALL we went for...total WITH a discount $ 368.05 !!!!!!!! Although they are great, they are also quite expensive.

My animals have been seeing Dr. Mac & EIAH for decades. Theyre always happy and healthy. Dr. MacDonald and Dr. Oddo know all of my (seven!) pets by sight and know their case histories by memory. Im very happy.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY !!! They charged us an absurd price for simple vaccines. When asked nurse about affordable options, we are told that 60 dollars for a cats rabies vaccine is reasonable, so we comply and proceed to vaccine both of our cats. Later come to find out about PLENTY of other cheaper alternatives in Long Island. We also recall asking about neutering prices early on and the veterinarian giving an estimate of about $300 !! FOR A YOUNG CAT !!! Did some research online and found some clinics that do the same exact surgery for as low as $50 !!! That is an INSANE UP CHARGE ! In conclusion we will never be returning to East Islip Animal Hospital, and if you are looking for a cheap and safe way to care for your pets, this is not the place to go to.

Very caring at fair prices. a bit of an upsell to more discretionary prophylactic care than I’d like… but otherwise wonderful.

Dr. Oddo and McDonald have done an awesome job with my pups. Plus the office girls treat my lab mix like a celebrity, hes always pumped once hes in the door.

They make me feel safe bringing my pets here . Great staff from vet to techs. Can tell they like animals that its not just a job

I wanted to take the time out to review this amazing animal hospital. Let me just start by saying that me & my family have been bringing our pets here forever & would never consider going anywhere else. They adored & took such great care of my Phoebe before she passed away after 18 wonderful years of having her. My boyfriend & I now have 2 cats of our own whom both were just neutered & spayed as well as got all up to date on their shots. Throughout the surgeries, they reached out to me via phone calls & texts to give me updates on the whole procedure & to let me know they were doing well & now recovering with a bunch of comfy blankets AND they send you a picture of your fur baby! Does it get any better and/or more professional than that? They are with you & there for you through everything your pets need & they genuinely care so much. If anyone ever tells you otherwise about this animal hospital, please do not listen to them because they more than likely just like to complain. There is nothing bad to say about this animal hospital & for the past 18+ years of me going, they have never not once disappointed me or did anything wrong in my book. Dr. MacDonald specifically has been my personal vet doctor since I started going here & she has always, always cared deeply. I will never go anywhere else. If you are looking for a trustworthy, clean, professional, & polite animal hospital to bring your babies to, this is the place!!!
