My two dogs were cared for by Massapequa Pet Vet with love and dedication for 11 years. As they aged, the vets treated illnesses and even a cancerous tumor- which my dog survived for five additional years. I would highly recommend this wonderful practice if youre looking for top notch care for your pet. Teddy and Marley thank you for the care!

I left my previous vets office due to a mishap that happened with my dogs ashes - and i never received them. so i was on the hunt for a much more compassionate office where my babies could be seen and cared for. and im so glad i decided on Pet Vet. when i first walked in with Reeses, the whole front desk went “AWWW” on queue when they saw her 😩🥺 it also helped that the pricing overall is MUCH more affordable than the place that i was going to. but when i actually got there and had my experience at my appointment, quite frankly i was floored. especially days after when i called for something, and with such little information - the kind woman at the front desk knew exactly who i was and said “oh i remember you, you brought in Reeses!” and i was just so touched that over a week had passed since my appointment, but they remembered exactly who i and my dog was merely by my voice alone. so that just feel like a much more compassionate and family oriented place, and that solidified it for me.another time, i had to swing by there to get some prescription food for my allergy baby, and given how far i was, i wasn’t sure i was going to make it in time before they closed, and i was also rushing to get somewhere else. so i called and spoke with the lead receptionist, Bailey, and she made sure to have everything ready for me so that i was able to fly through quickly and grab the food seamlessly so it didn’t interfere with my day! thank you Bailey!! 🥰then today i finally took my older dog Boots in, and not only was i able to get a semi emergency appointment for him the day of, i was called into my actual appointment exactly at the time it was scheduled for (literally to the minute). the tech that took care of us was meticulous about taking all of the proper history down and such a sweetheart with my Bootsie. his tail was actually wagging when he was on the table being examined because she i’m guessing must have whispered sweet nothings in his ear the entire time! he would be stiff as a board and uncomfortable at VCA. but he was happy here! then the way that Dr. Hall explained everything was extremely easy for me to understand and remember. not only that, the way he spoke to and treated my dog was as if he was one of his own. and that just makes my heart so so happy. (and my dogs, too)see you guys on Monday for our follow-up

I have been working with Massapequa Pet Vet since 2015 where they have treated my cat and all 5 of my Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. Ned Horowitz and his team have never failed to be compassionate, collaborative and professional whether dealing with allergies, vaccines and titers, bladder issues (cat), wellness exams, gatric issues and referrals to specialists for internal medicine, ACL tears and mitral valve disease. They got Cato through a critcal stage of congestive heart failure and saved him for us so that he could be treated and live another happy 3 months. When we lost Cato and Tiger at home they helped us with final arrangements with the utmost compassion for which i will always be grateful. When we brought home our latest Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy we did not hesitate to have him seen by Ned, Dr Shivers and Dr Amin for all of his puppy wellness visits. Danger and Tayter are always happy to visit the clinic. I recommend Ned and his team unreservedly.

First visit there for my 13 month old great Dane. Staff and Dr Horowitz were friendly and knowledgeable with my breed. Thank you all. I look forward to seeing you all again.

My family have been clients of Dr. Ned Horowitz for over 40 years. We have followed him to different practices & have never left Massapequa Pet Vet once he opened it. Everyone at Massapequa Pet Vet is ALWAYS so friendly. You are greeted as soon as you walk in the door and are assisted as soon as a CSR is available. All of the LVTs and Veterinary Assistants are always so wonderful with our pets in the rooms when getting histories, vitals and assisting the Veterinarians. I have never met a Vet there that I did not like. They call the next day to see how your pet is doing after their visit the day prior and call within a decent amount of time to go over any lab results. I would recommend Massapequa Pet Vet to anyone looking for a Veterinary practice that makes you & your furbabies feel like you are at home. ♥️

Excellent care and service!! We brought our dog Princeton in today 7/6/24 and the 3 vet techs were amazing. The first one to see our dog was Savannah with the cool lip piercings and great sense of humor and she immediately put our dog at ease, as did the other young lady who used a calming tapping technique! Then the Dr came in and he was truly amazing as well with his expertise. Been bringing my dog here for years, wont even think of going anywhere else. I HIGHLY recommend Massapequa Pet Vet.

Clean office, personable and welcoming staff from the desk staff, vet techs and our new vet, Dr. Shiver. Came here because family spoke so highly of the care their pets received and was not disappointed. Love Dr. Shiver, so knowledgeable and helpful as this is our first puppy!

If I could give this place and its staff 6 stars I would. A little less than a month ago I brought my sweet bunny girl, Guinness, for a routine spay procedure with Dr. Fiore. Unfortunately, rabbits can be very tricky with anesthesia, and when they tried to bring Guinness off of the anesthesia, she went into cardiac arrest. They were able to get her heart going again with CPR and Dopamine, however she was still in rough shape. I went to Pet Vet a few hours later, where I had to decide if I wanted to bring my baby home with me, or send her home with Avery, a vet technician, who I felt was much more equipped to care for Guinness than I was. Although they closed at 7pm, the staff let me stay until around 8pm while I made the tough decision. I ended up sending her home with Avery, who promised to call me every 2 hours with updates starting at 11pm. Unfortunately, around 10:30pm, Avery called me to let me know that Guinness had re-arrested and that although she had performed CPR on her, her heart had slowly stopped. It was extremely hard to deal with, especially since Guinness’ breed (Netherland Dwarf) has a life span of around 7-10 years and I only had 9 months with her. However, I’d like to thank everyone at Massapequa Pet Vet for being SO kind and supportive. Avery was absolutely fantastic, as was Dr. Fiore, who took the time to speak with me on the phone even days after Guinness had passed. Even the front desk staff were so comforting and compassionate. In addition, I received a sympathy card today filled with little messages from the staff. I really appreciate it more than they know, and I will definitely be returning to Pet Vet with any and all future buns. 🖤🐾🐰

I have nothing but positive things to say about the staff at Massapequa Pet Vet. My dog Blue was diagnosed with Diabetes and Dr. Shivers has been nothing but amazing, helping not only my dog get through the diagnosis, but myself. She is always available to answer my million questions and genuinely cares.

Dr Horowitz and his staff are amazing. Prior to going there we took our pets to Banfield. I never felt connected to the staff there and felt like just another customer. With PetVet, I feel my Angel is in safe hands. He is in ongoing care for his allergies, and I rely on their expertise any time he has flare ups. They give me timely appointments and always handle with him with love when we go in. I wouldnt go anywhere else. Thank you team!

I have a 17 and a half year old Maltipoo named Lilly. We have been going to Massapequa Pet Vet for several years. I have ALWAYS received exceptional care from both the Doctors and the Staff.My latest encounter with Massapequa Pet Vet (last week) was the best yet. Without going into too much detail about Lilly’s problem, I made an appointment for a Vet Tech Visit to take care of some things she needed to have done.I spoke with Stephanie in particular the day I made the appointment. Judging from some of the information I was giving to Stephanie, she advised me I should come in earlier in the week versus the end of the week just to “be safe”.Thank goodness for Stephanie’s knowledge and quick thinking because she literally saved my dogs life.Lilly was having a problem that required Dr. Horowitz to stop what he was doing and see Lilly as an emergency. She had something going on that could have been life-threatening if it wasn’t taken care of right away.This was the first time I met Dr. Horowitz. I have seen the other excellent doctors in the practice in the past. Dr. Horowitz is an amazing Doctor and knew what was going on with Lilly immediately. I cannot thank him enough for stopping what he was doing to tend to my dog.I am a healthcare practitioner and I know how it is to have an emergency come in and throw off your whole schedule. Dr. Horowitz was kind, quick in his diagnosis, and spoke to me about the reality of what could’ve happened and what could happen in an HONEST and GENTLE manner.I am happy to say that she’s been on antibiotics and she’s doing very well.Thank you to Dr. Horowitz and Stephanie and the ENTIRE STAFF at Massapequa Pet Vet for saving my dogs life!I am forever grateful and if I could give you a million stars, I would!!!Sincerely,Dina Parolisi

We had an excellent vet thoroughly look over my 13 year old Golden Retriever, Savannah. He was gentle as was the staff. They gave us all our options and validated our feelings. They took good care of Savannah and treated her with a genuine kindness and care for her. He also consulted another vet about my dog which made me feel more confident. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

Excellent service and very attentive staff. The vet answered all my questions and handled my dog very gently without cutting corners. All my concerns were addressed and my pet was provided the necessary treatment and medications. She even received a free nail clipping. Ive been going to this location for 10 plus years. I know my dog will be well taken care of.

Found this place online after doing some research. Took my Son African Pygmy Male Hedgehog 🦔 here for his 30 day wellness check up. The place was clean, spacious, and bright. 😍😍😍 The staff was friendly, and polite. The whole process was smooth (since it was our first visit) literally was in and out in about an hour. The vet that did the examine was kind, and knowledgeable as well. I highly recommend this place if you own any exotic pet(s). 🥰🙂

Been taking both my dogs here for several years. Theyve been great with keeping records up to date with my many back and forth out of state moves. The doctors and assistants are always so helpful and friendly, they keep my very anxious dogs at ease during their exams.

I cant speak for how the vet is, as I learned how the manager seems to berate the staff. Would you have your beloved pet treated somewhere where the staff was being visibly treated poorly? A friend of mine also worked here and had a horrible experience. Again, this does not mean the vet is not good at what they do. I cant speak to that as I did not even consider giving them my business. Yet, when a staff is not treated well, that is not somewhere I would trust to treat my pets. I went elsewhere before even giving this place my business. I merely write this as something to consider. There are many other vets. Better vets.

We moved to the area around 1 1/2 years ago and needed a vet close by. Originally we went to VCA on Montauk Ave but that will be a review for another day (yuck). Our baby was scratching her ears so we called the previous place and they wouldn’t see our baby till Monday. No way could I let her suffer 5 days. My wife found a place even closer with great reviews called Petvet. We explained our situation and even though they were booked they squeezed us in. Turns out she had a double ear infection. Dr. Shivers took care of her and I have to say we found the most amazing Vet location and the most incredible doctor also it didn’t hurt that the staff was awesome. Dr. Shivers took care of our baby and explained everything that would be done. We are so happy to have found this vet. We are happy once again to have a Doctor that cares.

Dr Horowitz and his entire staff are excellent. They put my puppy and I at ease right away and he was given a thorough exam. I appreciated that they called me the next day to follow up on how my puppy Jack was feeling.The only negative comment I could make is that they need to hire more Veterinarians. I requested an appointment with Dr Horowitz to have Jack neutered and I have to wait 4 months. The doctors and staff are so caring it will certainly be worth the wait!

Could not have had a better experinece. The staff from the front desk to the techs and the vet made for a very welcoming and calming enviorment. They listened to everything I said and expressed and made me feel like i was being listened to. They were dedicated to adressing all of my questions and concerns, and above all were friendly and kind. This was my first visit here after switching vets and I would recommend them to anyone.

We have been going to Mass Petvet for years now.. The staff was so compassionate when we lost our Golden... Now with our Tommy Pickles the are super patient and always happy to see him (even though he isnt happy to be there lol) Liz is always so happy and willing to take Tommy in with a smile. I had a very pleasant first visit to Massapequa Pet Vet for my 7yr old Labrador Retriever. The doctors and staff are friendly and welcoming. They are knowledgeable, caring and a thorough examination was given to my pet. And most important my dog was comfortable and not anxious. I would refer them to family and friends. My dachshund injured her back and the receptionist got me an emergency appt for that same morning. The staff was friendly and compassionate with me and my pup. The vet was knowledgeable and thorough... and she relayed realistic expectations for my pups recovery.My mother has also been bringing her dachshund here for roughly a year, and has praised this office & these veterinarians for being accommodating, honest and compassionate.

I will start with have never been to this office. We moved to the area not long ago and hadn’t found an emergency office or a vet close by to our house. Yesterday we had a serious emergency. I called the office out of desperation my 15 year old yorkie was foaming from her mouth could not stand up I didnt know if she was having a seizure or choking on something. Time is precious in these kinds of moments. The woman who answered the phone could not have cared less. Told me basically the doctors are about to leave not sure what you want me to do. I was hysterical crying. It was like pulling teeth asking her where the closest emergency hospital is and her exact answer was “next to Adventureland” I’m sorry but sometimes there are unforeseen circumstances that call for a bit of a later stay at the office. My dog was in fact choking and they possibly could have saved her faster than me driving and googling names of nearest emergency hospitals. This was a vet we were considering unfortunately I will never come here as they made me feel my animals life wasn’t as important as getting out at the exact time the office closed.Since I cannot respond to your response I will Do it here. Clearly you’re not understanding how blatantly careless your staff is. The woman on the phone was bothered by my emergency. I did not call you an 24 hour emergency hospital it was 5pm when I called you don’t close till 6 your website said. I’m sorry but your response doesn’t seem so sincere either. As a business owner myself I would not call this the “best interest” Your staff member barely sent me elsewhere she gave me unclear direction to go to the place next to Adventureland. You may be better off not responding to every review unfortunately I dont see any right in your response.

By far the best experience ever with a vet. Dr Horowitz is a brilliant doctor and all the staff are wonderful. I am grateful for the exceptional care they always give to my much loved dogs. I would trust their health with no one else.

Massapequa Pet Vet is the place to go if you value professionalism, quality care and friendliness. Dr. Horowitz and his staff are some of the most kind people I have ever met. It is obvious that they care deeply about making your experience with them a pleasant one and they go above and beyond to care for your pets as if they are their own. For example, my fiancé and I had a recheck appointment for our Holland Lop, Luna, and noticed that our Leopard Gecko may have made a prolapse. We called the office to ask if we could bring in our gecko as well during Lunas visit and without hesitate we were told that would be okay. Not only did Dr. Horowitz examine Luna for her recheck at no cost to us, but he examined our scaly baby as well even though the clinic was obvious busy. This is the kind of quality service you will receive at Massapequa Pet Vet and I can assure you that you will not receive this kind of care elsewhere, especially if you have exotic pets. Dr. Horowitz also is so knowledgeable, yet speaks to you in lay terms and has a great sense of humor as well. Cant express enough how much I enjoy bringing my pets here. I have never in my life met a veterinarian and staff like Dr. Ned Horowitz and his colleagues and staff. They are all in it for the love of the animals. My Pets have had many medical issues throughout the years and other vets were quick to suggest surgery and make me panic over things just to be able to bill out. I have never had a more calming compassionate experience than I have had with Massapequa pet vet. Dr. Ned Horowitz knew I was nervous about an issue my dog had and in order to calm my nerves he brought all of his other vets in and let me get that many opinions just to ease my mind. The office is immaculate and run so well. The staff is always so accommodating and I couldn’t be more grateful to have found them for all of my pets, both exotic and domestic.

Massapequa Pet Vet was recommended by a friend and the Veterinarians and staff are always professional, friendly and caring. Their app is extremely helpful and useful for a quick look up of records and appointments. The office is clean and typically pets are seen on time for appointments. Dr. Horowitz is concerned for our pups health and well-being, and is never looking to do unnecessary tests. I highly recommend Massapequa Pet Vet.

VERY friendly! Good with animals of all types. Clean environment. Overall the best place Ive been to and the only place my cat has been comfortable with. Highly recommended.Only unrelated complaint is that the location is right on a corner of a busy street, and parking is tight. So if you go here be aware of it. But the place itself is great!

I’ve been a customer for more than 2 years with multiple animals. Today was the final straw. Throughout the Covid times they’ve managed to work out how I can calm my 2 dogs while protecting everyone’s health. Today they must have not bothered to check their own notes and didn’t bother to let me know for my safety they had to take my dog in without me.I understand this may sound like no big deal to many. If that’s the case move on and assume they are fine for you. I’ll just say that on the last visit the vet and Tech commented how pleasant it was since the dog was calming down and didn’t need to be sedated anymore and what they’d taught me in assisting them made the whole experience much better for them and the dog. No more need for sedation or to drug the dog.When I tried to appeal I was told no exceptions and when I asked to speak to the practice owner He shuffled me off and refused to speak to me.Maybe this is fine for many but since these dogs are treated like my family and I spare no expense in making sure they get regular treatment I’ve decided to go elsewhere.To be fair the doctors at this facility have always been good to my pets and reasonable with my wife and I.That said, I don’t spend my money with people who won’t even give me the courtesy of a conversation after being a solid customer for years.Hope this helps.Robert.

Its very difficult nowadays to please everyone. Yes, there were some rough times. But, they saved my dogs life from Mast cell cancer age 4 and she is now 12. They have taken care of my animals for 15 years. My Meeka and my other dogs are my whole world and Id rather have an honest vet then one who puts your animals through unnecessary treatments. Please be kind and remember they are doctors not God..and also remember vets have a high rate of suicide.Prayers to all

The team at Massapequa Pet Vet went above and beyond to fit us in on the day prior to Thanksgiving for an emergency although we are not regular patients of theirs. Everyone I dealt with from the first phone call, to the follow up calls was not only pleasant, but they all seemed genuinely concerned about my cats health. I dealt with Dr. Fiore and her bedside manner exceeded my expectations. I am a nervous talker so Im sure I was driving her crazy but she remained very kind and informative throughout treatment and even cracked some jokes to make me feel comfortable. You can tell this entire team genuinely cares about your animals and understands that they are family. If you love your pet and you live in the Massapequa area, this is without a doubt the veterinary you should frequent.

A stray cat entered out lives and adopted us. The staff at Pet Vet were wonderful helping us make sure our new friend was well and ready to come into her forever home.

I’ve been seeing the drs at MPV for my two kitties the past few years. Always on time with appts and on top of that, they are so caring to my little babes. I have a cat who can be difficult as he gets spooked and defensive easily and they treated him as if he was one of their own. All staff, including reception, speak with intelligence, kindness, and patience. They make you feel like your pet is safe! Which is all a pet owner asks for!

My entire family have used this vet for years. The staff is very caring and kind and the prices are reasonable. Were very happy with Ned and his team. Recommended highly!

Most dogs get anxious as soon as they realize theyre going to the Vet, which is sad bec we love our dogs so much, and this is why I am so pleased that Massapequa Pet Vet has been our doggie doctor for more than 10 years! I have full confidence in their knowledge and expertise, plus the whole staff is patient and caring, and the entire office is clean (pretty big these days). You cant go wrong with any of the doctors there, but my dogs favorite is Dr. Snipas! Ive been recommending them for years and have never been sorry!

Very happy with Massapequa pet vet. Brought my dog in as a first time emergency patient as she ate a grape. They made us feel calm as we were FREAKING out, took her right back and took care of her. I had been bringing my cat to Pet Vet for 18 years since I first adopted her at 2 weeks old. Dr. Horowitz is the mpost skillful vet I have ever met, and he had a special magic with my cat. She really only liked to see him on visits, but for emergencies when Dr. H wasnt available, the other vets on staff were excellent as well. The assistants are highly professional. My cats end of life needs were well addressed, and so compassionately handled. They even helped me through my first few days without my baby girl by giving me an imprint of her paw prints, which I have been cherishing. Thank you Dr, Horowitz, Dr. Strianese, and all the staff at Pet Vet.

Dr. Ned Horowitz is awesome. I found a stray cat in great distress. I was able to get an appointment immediately for the stray to be seen. Dr. Horowitz called me and spent a good deal of time explaining to me what he did to help the stray and what options I had. He was very reasonable about the price due to the cat being a stray.I take my own fur babies here as well. I would definitely suggest Dr. Horowitz and the Massapequa Pet Vet.On a side note I have also brought injured wildlife to the Massapequa Pet Vet and they have always helped out.

Our 14 year old Dachshund had cushing disease and was ready to go. Dr. Lee and the staff were amazing to me and my family. Very compassionate and walked us through the steps of his passing. I can not express my gratitude nearly enough for their support to us on that day. Our loss is still very painful, but knowing that the Doctors and staff were supporting us during the whole process, it eased our loss of our most amazing pet. Thank you very much Massapequa Pet Vet.

After several trips to the ER and with very little help from my cats long time Vet, I reached out to Pet Vet. I was given an appointment 18 days later. However, as my cats condition worsened, I called and asked if they had any cancellations, to please let me know, because I didnt think my cat would survive that long. They immediately accommodated my request and scheduled an emergency visit later that day. Dr. Strianese and the Team performed a complete and thorough evaluation, came up with an interim treatment plan, prescribed some medications and scheduled a follow-up procedure. My cat immediately responded to the meds and I truly believe that he is alive today and continuing to improve, as a direct result of the excellent care he was given at Pet Vet. I am now very confident that his follow-up procedure will proceed uneventfully, thanks to the professionalism demonstrated by the entire Pet Vet team.

If I can rate more than 5 stars I would. During difficult times like these, today I brought Ruby (my holland lop bunny) to the Massapequa Pet Vet for his first checkup. Unfortunately he did have slight respiratory issue, but DR. Laura Fiore gave me the right medications for him and told me what I had to do with it.The bag they put the medication in was adorable. Definitely will be bringing Ruby to this vet only. Their prices are definitely affordable, trust me Ive called other vets, prices are too high, some couldnt say over the phone and some need practice greeting customers over the phone! Massapequa Pet Vet greets well on phone, and gives their honest opinion. Pet Vet called me a day before to confirm my appointment!!! My experience at the Vet was fantastic. I called when I was there, one of the ladies from the front desk came out with paper work and they took Ruby, there was no wait! Rubys life matters here, I love it! I dont see much reviews of Rabbits, so here is mine. Dont wait, make the appointment you wont regret!!!THANK YOU MASSAPEQUA PET VET!

Best vet ever!Dr Horowitz is a wonderful person & doctor that makes every animal and person feel important no matter the case!The staff is exceptional and the office manager is a doll!I had a very bad experience with another vet and unfortunately, my girls were just dollars and cents to her.I have two female English Bulldogs 2 & 4 years old and theyre My heart! I almost had my older female go under the knife for something that was not necessary at the time! Maybe down the line it might be but she was not even 2 then and she was always very nervous around this other vet maybe it had to do with her spay and I cant say what might have happened to her during or after the spay but Lily made it very obvious that she didnt like her!Rose is my baby, shed had a urinary track infection ( when I got her at 7 weeks) and was put on very expensive medicine. After 3-4 times of this I asked to see another veterinarian who was well known. She prescribed a very strong dose of the medication that knocked it right out of her. It was the same meds the other dr gave her but the dosage was the problem and she had me come back 4 times in 6 weeks which I paid for a visit and she also dispensed the medication so she overcharged me! . She made a killing on us! Its a shame that certain people that are supposed to be professionals give the really good guys a bad wrap!I really dont talk about doctors like this but this dr really had made a very bad mark in my book!I love Massapequa Pet Vet and even if I moved out of the state, Id make it a point of keeping Dr. Ned Horowitz as my girls veterinarian❣️👍🐶🐶😍😍

Dont recommend. Almost killed my dog if I didnt take him somewhere else. They neglected my puppy in a very serious situation. Told me to go to an unreliable emergency room and after waiting 6 hours with no diagnosis, they didnt prioritize a follow up appointment resulting in neglect. After being extremely patient, I decided to go somewhere else and he was treated and saved.

We were visiting family in Massapequa and our 1 1/2 year old sprained her tail. ( too much time in the pool) she was in pain and so uncomfortable. My sister in law called and explained the situation. Pet Vet took us right in and by the end of the day ,Finlee was feeling so much better and we received a call the next day to check on her. Even though I dont live in the area . I have to say, these guys were awesome Thank you so much !!

Best doctors ever. We have been to a few other veterinarians, Dr. Horowitz was the only to diagnose my dog properly. Ever since then hes been fine. From one doctor to another, I highly recommend this group. They are all great. Thanks guys.

I am very disappointed in Massapequa Pet Vets Policy on having to leave my and my Sons dog all day from 9am in a cage, stressed out even though the dog is in heart failure to get an echocardiogram. This may be what is best for your business but absolutely NOT what is best for the patient! My Son was given a prescription to take our dog directly to the facility for an appointment instead of leaving him there all day, however they do not answer their phone. Change your policy! You ABSOLUTELY CAN call for the patient the day of before they arrive as soon as you know they are coming. This IS in your control. NO EXCUSES.

We just recently moved into the area and had an emergency with our 2 year old bullmastiff. He got into some trouble by sticking (we think) his head in some bushes and poked his eye. Within hours his eye swelled and was profusely watering. Thinking that this was just an accident and that it would go away - I waited a day before it clicked that this is not just an irritation and we need to get this checked out. Our regular vet was by where we previously lived and by the time we would have gotten him there - they would be closing so I called Massapequa Pet and they took him in right away.Upon initial examination Dr. Fiore determined that he has a corneal ulcer. Well, after multiple repeat visits (like weekly) I have never felt like they were just treating for the money. To be honest - I sometimes am amazed at my bill and I am extremely thankful. His eye has not been easy to heal and the entire staff at Massapequa Vet have been nothing but welcoming to him. As a matter of fact, our last visit - my dog jumped out of the car and literally pulled my husband into the office.. He loves it there, he loves the Dr. and he absolutely loves all the treats and loving he gets from everyone!

Was there yesterday with my dog who had a wellness checkup and determined to need an allergy injection. The doctor and her assistant were wonderful to my dog, very thorough and explained everything to me. I was very happy with them and give them my highest recommendation and thanks

I have brought numerous animals here over the years, essentially I grew up in this office. My grandma went to the petvet ever since I was little! The entire staff are some of the most caring and amazing. They explain everything as throughourly as possible and never get annoyed by questions. They have gone above and beyond for my family on several occasions. From taking us in for an emergency appointment, to saving one of my cats lifes, kitty dental surgery, neutering...Ive done it all at the pet vet. I moved to Manhattan otherwise I would never stop bringing my animals to them! Truly a rare gem and hands down one of the best on LI. They are upfront about costs as well. Bravo PetVet!!!! Also the office is adorable, clean and inviting.

We recently rescued a beautiful little pitbull mix from a local rescue. Shes a healthy girl and we needed a local vet to bring her in for her first exam and well visit.From the time we walked in and were greeted by their amazing front desk staff, to the quick rooming, we were very happy with Massapequa Pet Vet!Dr. Christine Ginley was so warm and caring for our girl and she made sure to be gentle and loving.I would recommend Dr. Ginley to anyone in the Massapequa area to care for their loved ones. She is a veterinarian that truly exudes love for her fur patients.Bravo Massapequa Pet Vet!

I wish I could give them more than 5 stars. I have been bringing my pets to PetVet for at least 15 years now from guinea pigs to a Great Dane. They treated our guinea pigs for coughs, a broken leg, neutered one, diagnosed cancer in another, and euthanized two of them so they would go without pain. After our first dog passed, we rescued a puppy after they moved into the new building, and now we bring our 4 dogs to them. Dr. Horowitz treated all of our guinea pigs and our first dog, and now Dr. Schilke treats our dogs for the past ~8 years! Ive even worked at different animal hospitals and continued to bring my pets here. I trust their advice and opinions, and appreciate their kindness and all they do to help their clients save money where we can. And the techs and assistants, and even receptionists really care for all of the pets they see and try to make them comfortable and address your concerns and questions (and being the woman who brings in 4 dogs alternatively, they often remember me, which is really appreciated) THANK YOU PET VET WE LOVE YOU GUYS!!

Ive been taking my pets here for at least 15 years. They are truly caring and always have the best intentions for your pet in the forefront of their minds. I can personally speak for Dr Horowitz and Dr Strianesse and give them both a high recommend.

The cleanest, friendliest, organized, caring vet office I have ever been to.They are able to diagnose many illnesses and problems as they have the equipment and lab to do so while you wait. I will never go anywhere else. Why would you?

I have been bringing my baby here for almost 2 years and they are good with appointments but make sure you don’t count with them if you have an emergency! It’s so sad that they can’t see you when your dog is sick because they don’t have emergency visits! Why have a doctor IF they can’t see you if you’re sick! It happened twice and this time my baby was throwing up blood and they still didn’t care! What a shame

I have taken my dog here for years. I am disappointed in their procedure for echocardiogram. My dog is in heart failure and gets stressed out easily. They gave me a referral for VMCLI to get the echocardiogram however they do not answer their phone. IF the echo is done in the office. they ask you to. leave your dog at 9am and do not know when it will be done it could be 11 or 2 ... so they want me to stress out my dog who is in heart failure for HOURS. I dont think so. They refuse to call me to drop her off when they are coming I live 15 minutes away. The only response I get is no its our policy call VMCLI or an appointment there however they do not answer their phones. This is not good business or policy. Im not leaving my dog who is in heart failure stressed out at the office all day.

Great staff, no upselling. Can tell that they genuinely love animals. Our cocker spaniel is vicious, so much so that we could not get him to see a Vet or groomed for over 18 months. I brought him to Pet Vet and when the Dr. and Technician realized that they couldnt subdue him, they called in the Big Guns, the Doggie Ninja. I wouldnt mess with this lady! Long story short, they put my lunatic dog in his place and he was able to get the care he needed! Hes now home sleeping soundly...

I came across an injured cat in Massapequa this past Friday, August 21st. My initial instinct after we had rescued him was to take the animal to Massapequa Pet Vet. What a mistake that was.I entered the facility and I approached the reception area with the cat cage and placed it on the counter. Before I had a chance to explain the full story of why I came in with the cat, I received an attitude and a nasty remark about how the facility was closing in fifteen minutes. I proceeded with my story on how we found the cat, he was injured, and needed medical attention. She continued to tell me that they could not help me and I should release the cat back where I had found him.There was another woman in the waiting room and she stood up and insisted that the facility scan the cat to see if there was an owner. The other woman was just as shocked at the receptionists answer as I was. We both were in disbelief as another member of the staff approached me with an attitude while taking the cat cage to scan the animal.Before being completed, the Veterinarian working, Doctor Lee, came out and began to raise his voice at me in a very aggressive tone. He was yelling in my face about how he could not help the cat and then persisted to accuse me of stealing it from its rightful owners. I then told Doctor Lee that the first receptionist I spoke to was very rude and disrespectful, on top of recommending that I just release the cat back outside to where I found it even though it was injured. Doctor Lee then continued to scream and raise his voice at me concerning how his receptionist would never say such a thing.At this point, I was beyond frustrated and was done being disrespected by the staff of the facility. I took the cat and started to make my way to the door.  At this point, he is still yelling at me. The other woman also chimed in to explain that everything I had said is true and that she was a witness to the whole interaction.I was disgusted by what they recommended me to do with the hurt animal, how I was treated, and how I was disrespected when I was simply trying to help. I have been a long time customer of Massapequa Pet Vet  until now and I normally would recommend them to a new pet owner. I am from now on recommending to everyone I know to not go anywhere near this place.I will no longer be going there for the services I may need for my animals. I will no longer recommend this facility to others as I was treated with such disrespect, being called a liar, and was screamed at by a so-called Professional Veterinarian. I have never experienced such a disgusting interaction like this. If you could treat me this poorly, I do not want you anywhere near the animals I consider to be apart of my family. I was appalled. I would recommend to any person who loves their animals, do not bring them to this facility. They only care when it is important to them and have no real interest in helping those animals who may need medical attention or who need to be reconnected with their families. It would have only taken one scan and phone call to reconnect this cat with his family and they simply refused.  This is unacceptable from a professional facility. Do not bring your pets here if you wish for them to be properly cared for or if you wish to be treated with respect.

My pup had a hospital stay and staff techs and vets were all so kind. Super clean too to bottom. So grateful they got my dog on the mend so quickly. Will be making Pet Vet my go to place for all my pets needs.

I just want to thank all the techs, the ladies at the desk and Dr Horowitz for taking such good care of Billy. Billy is a 3 year old Guinea Pig and goes just about every 3 weeks to get his teeth cut, they are all amazing and love Billy. I feel like he’s a celebrity there… so thanks guys.. you’re the best!!

I normally do not post reviews but thought this was worth sharing. Our dog Molly had stones in her bladder causing her to have blood in her urine. This was diagnosed by a different vet group that would not do the surgery b/c Molly is a diabetic. I was referred to a surgery center in farmingdale and was told just to evaluate her it would cost $150.???I called Pet Vet on Friday morning the Dr was off but offered to come in to see Molly. I met with Dr Horowitz that did a thorough examination that my previous vet did not do and scheduled surgery. I was well informed before and after surgery by the Dr and his staff. The staff, vet techs and Dr Horowitz are caring and knowledgable people. They will now be my new vet group and I will also try them for dog grooming.

My cats Autumn and Asia couldnt have been in better hands. Extremely thorough and very attentive and caring staff. The best vets anybody could ask for!! Dont hesitate for one second to bring your pet there 😊😊😊😊.

I adopted my two kittens Magic Wally and Wonder Walter, on Apr 26, 2021 from All About Cats Rescue. They had severe diahrrea over the next few days. Upon recommendation from my son, I called Massapequa Pet Vet on May 5, and asked for an appt with Dr Strianese. Dr. Strianese was not in that day, but Massapequa gave me a same day appt with Dr.Ginley. She is wonderful. She prescribed an antibiotic and probiotics for my kittens, and prescribed a diet for them. Magic Wally also has a discharge in one eye and Dr Ginley prescribed eye drops. Both kittens appear to be responding to treatment. They are eating well and have a lot of energy. The entire staff from the first phone, meeting the vet tech and Dr. Ginley showed true concern for my kittens. I will be taking Magic and Wonder to Massapequa Pet Vet for follow up and future care. Thank you for your time and service.

Dr Horowitz and his staff went above and beyond trying to save my duck Howard and I am forever grateful to them all for everything they did. Unfortunately Howard passed and to my surprise I recieved a call from Dr. Horowitz with his sympathys and also a signed card from him and his staff with sympathy on the loss of Howard. Dr. Horowitz and his amazing team treated Howard as if he were there own and treated me like I was a friend. I think thats what everyone looks for in a vet and seldom finds. I have been a customer for years. I have had two incidents that needed emergency attention, (my dog was attacked by another animal in the head and bleeding badly and my cat was unable to move and had an extremely low body temp and was crying) and was told that you cannot fit me in with an emergency. Disgusting, and whatever the owners snarky response is, it is a lie. Sad you have lost a long term client because at the end of the day, you don’t show any care for EMERGENCIES several times!

Brought 2 of my cats in for senior wellness exams. Veterinary Doctor Laura Fiore really knows how to handle a not happy feline ! She took great care of our babies and we recommend Massapequa Pet Vet to all !!

This veterinarian has never treated my dog before killing him. My dog was brought there by someone who was high on presecription drugs, without even asking the persons relationship with the dog the vet euthanized the dog on the spot. My dog never had one complaint made against him for his aggression. My entire family is devastated that this vet assisted in the murder of my animal. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!

Sugar glider owners beware !!!!!Look anywhere online and it says DONT LET YOUR VET CUT THERE TEETH. First we didnt go to another veterinary for this issue, so how could someone we never went to miss this?Cutting his front teeth had nothing to do with getting to his abscess in the back of the mouth. I also was informed AFTER you had already done it. My sugar glider also cant eat solid foods now because of this. So yeah we are soooooooooooooo greatful for that (sarcasm). But nice try on that comment below

Absolutely uncaring!!!! Called with a 2 month old puppy vomiting and shaking that possibly ate something . Said they were booked for the day couldn’t believe it . The good news is there is an animal hospital in Farmingdale . Atlantic Coast Veterinary on route 110 . They said bring her in immediately and it was good that I did .Shame on you Massapequa pet hole ... I’ll spread the word to Stay Away !

They were great , very thorough my Gucci was very ill got into some bones & god knows what else ,dehydrated lethargic. Tremors , etc etc he gave me a good scare , had never been there before , very disatisfied with my prev vet babylon animal hospital who lack compassion , or genuinous , pet vet cared took time, to thoroughly examine every possibility a lil pricey , but beyond. Good pet care but at the front desk they have absolutely no idea how to manage expectations. ‘A few minutes’ means at least an hour. I was told at few minutes several times and it was really 3 hours!

I wouldnt bring my babies anywhere else. The staff is amazing from the receptionists to the assistants to the doctors. The clinic is always clean. Dr Schilke is amazing!!!

I could spend hours praising this Hospital and Staff (I will a a future time, as I have a cat there right now), but with my past experiences with 2 ferrets, I wouldn`t bring them to anyone other than Dr. Horowitz..I had maybe 13 or 14 ferrets since 1997, and most Vets don`t even know the basics of how to treat a ferret..but through my past experiences with Dr. Horowitz, I trust him completely in his advice and recommendations to me, that`s why I drive 30 miles to see him, even though my town has many Vets and Animal Hospitals, of which I`ve been to most of them..I just wiosh he`d open up a 2nd Hospital closer to me, but he`s so busy, he`s that much in demand, so I understand..10 STARS from me..K. Took my guinea pigs to do a check up with Dr Horowitz. All staffs are so friendly, patient and welcoming. Dr. Horowitz explained everything in detail and give valuable suggestion for all my questions/concerns. Would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for awesome exotic vet in NY. Price is also reasonable compare to the only exotic vet office in the city (some of my friends have horrible experience in the city and just FYI better avoid that place). I would continue coming here even though it takes me an hour drive.

I spent a lot of time researching the best options for an experience and knowledgeable bulldog veterinarian. Dr. Horowitz and his staff are one of the top pet vets in the tri-state area. They bend over backwards if its an emergency appointment, theyre always responsive to messages and requests, but most importantly the way they treat my pup makes a trip to the vet more like a trip to the dog park. I highly recommend Massapequa pet vet whether its speaking to administrators, or the doctors, its always a pleasant experience especially if its a difficult time for you and your pet.

When I adopted my dog Marley she had a severe skin allergy and chronic dry eyes. Under Massapequa Pet Vets care, my dogs allergies are under control and her eyes are shining brightly. My other dog Teddy had a cancerous growth removed almost five years ago. Thanks to MPV, she is still here.

Honestly, PetVet is a staple to the south shore community. Theyre always professional when helping me and my family. From the helpful reception team and wonderful vet techs all the way to the overly accommodating doctors.In my most recent visit my cat (2y/o) had gotten sick and my boyfriend started to become anxious (as we all do when our furry friends dont feel well) so we called a little bit before 9 and the manager of reception was so understanding and helpful and squeezed us in for an afternoon appointment. When we got there we were quickly checked in by the lovely people at the front desk and then shortly after escorted to a room. There the vet tech and the doctor checked out my buddy, I was honest about how much money i was able to spend that day (as the only down side to PetVet is theres no payment plans) and they were super helpful in making my cat feel better within my budget. They took the time to explain everything from the procedure to his aftercare medications to me (and i mean took the time! lol) but they also gave me really good advice on how to make my cat healthier, and i really appreicated that.I know this is super long but i just think sometimes its easy to notice only the bad things about a doctors appointments because of all the anxiety and stress that surrounds it so i took a month to reflect on it and i really do want to give a HUGE THANK YOU to PetVet.Thank you to Steph, Connor, and Christina from reception you guys are awesome. Thank you to the vet tech that we had that day (im so sorry i cant remember your name but you were so sweet and funny!) Today I had to take my dog to the vet for a broken nail. We went to” Massapequa Pet Vet”. Firstly Bailey was so helpful when making the appointment she had my mind at ease in a stressful situation. Also The doctor was AMAZING and my dog loved her and all the techs and assistants. But I have to say Heidi at the front desk was SO helpful. A vet visit can be very expensive Heidi went out of her way to help me find an affordable option that wouldn’t clear out my bank account. she was SO helpful and AMAZING, I’ve never dealt with someone with such amazing customer service skills in my life. I hope she gets a raise bc she is an asset to that business. Thank you all for your help it was a great experience and I will for sure be using them as my dogs vet ,permanently. I will also refer everybody to this vet for many reasons. The place is clean and has everything you need from treats to toys even toothbrushes. If i had the option to give them more stars I would. Massapequa pet vet accomodated me and our bearded dragon on an emergency visit. While the diagnosis and prognosis was not what I hoped for (no fault of the doctor or staff), Dr. Horowitz was very sensitive and compassionate towards me and my pet. He was honest and frank and clearly explained my options and costs for each procedure. I have the utmost respect and trust for Dr. Horowitz. He definitely cares about pets of all kinds, and it shows. I will return to this facility for future veterinary needs. Dont hesitate to make an appointment.

A great place to take your furry pet

Dr. Horowitz and his staff are nothing short of amazing. Upon finding two 6 week old kittens next to a compact dumpster, Dr. Horowitz and his team took them in when I had no where else to bring them, no questions asked, even though they closed in 30 minutes. The team gave them shelter, water, food and treated them for any impeding health concerns while also ensuring that they will find safe and reliable homes for the kittens. Him and his team members are truly in this profession for the right reasons.

[Appointment on 1/7/21] If I could give 10 stars I would! From the receptionist Connor, as well as the two ladies that were there, the technician Avery and Dr. Fiore - everyone was incredible. From the moment I called they were professional, kind and courteous. It was really just an overall pleasant experience and it made all the difference that the staff was so great!

Wish I could go lower. Please read entire review even though it might be lengthy.I took my cat to Massapequa Pet Vet . due to a condition/infection with her paw. I took the doctors recommendation and we bandaged the area and put my cat on anti biotics as well as a pain medication. Took my cat back several times for bandage changes, a couple of times the bandage fell off and how to go back to get it redone (not a big deal). This went on for about 2 months. Finally the doctor recommended that we surgically remove the area, we went over a proposal and scheduled a date for the procedure. When I went on the day of the procedure the doctor that originally was going to do the procedure got overruled by the owner Ned Horowitz. Doctor Horowitz that morning decided that he wanted to charge 4x the amount for the procedure. he even called in the other doctor in to discuss and told her she was doing it wrong. I told him I would go to another vet.Every time you visit or call this place you will get different information or a different cost than originally discussed. He claims that he is only doing this in the best interest of the animal, but really only cares about the money. he asked me and I quote how much can you spend on this.He will now respond to this post saying all the things I did wrong and how I am a horrible pet owner. He might even try to get this post taken down. But the fact of the matter is. He changed the procedure to charge me more money the day of the procedure. He tries to prey on your emotions to increase his own bank account. Terrible business practice, bad ethics, do not go here.

Does NOT care about animals at all. Called several times to bring my geriatric dog in knowing it was end of life. This was his vet, he had been there before for check ups and sickness visits. We had just been there the week prior, so the vet was aware of his failing health. We were turned away three separate times. each time I pleaded with staff to fit my dog in as an emergency visit (knowing it would be an end of life visit) and was met with attitude constantly being talked over. We were forced to bring him to an animal hospital where he was put down, by a kinder vet that was more gentle with him than his own regularly seen vet could bother to be. This is an absolutely money making, revolving door vet that truly has no compassion for animals or their well being. Bring your animal else where if you care about them at all.

Very professional and polite staff. Have had experience with most, if not all the different veterinarians and have never had a bad experience with them or the bet techs. We take both our cat and dog there but wife used to take her ferret so they basically do it all.

I love the personal attention all of my animals have always received at Massapequa Pet Vet! Thanks for taking such great care of my fur babies!

I’m very disappointed with Massapequa pet vet I’ve been a client since the practice opened and last night I called with an emergency my dog was attacked by a raccoon and I was turned away and told to go elsewhere this is wrong this is not fair practice and I will not be coming back I’ll take my animals elsewhere I hope dr Horowitz reads this as I’m sure he will not be very happy
