Our rescue adult dog was highly reactive. It was clear we could not handle the dog’s behavior on our own. We got her into training in private lessons at High Point as soon as we could. Immediately, we saw our dog responding to our redirections and treats. After our first lesson, it was clear our dog liked the training and was happy when we took out the prong collar to train. After two months of training, she is following our commands, even with another dog present. She clearly loves going to High Point each week and is happy when we get the training gear out. Every session, Jami has listened to our concerns and questions. She has offered support and encouragement, such that both my 19 year old daughter and I feel secure in what we are doing. So so grateful to have found High Point.

High Point is a great training facility. The staff is kind and honest, helping you and your dog(s) work through anything. I have two American Bullies who have been attending classes at High Point K9 Center for a year and a half now. I can’t believe what progress both pups have made. Highly recommend!!

One of my 2 Czech Shepperds had an agression issue, so bad that my home town has declared him dangerous. Court orderered training was required in order for us to keep him. Spoke with other trainers who frankly would not take the work to recondition him. Vicky at High point gladly accepted the challenge . 2 weeks into training our shep has made some incredible and obvious inroads . The training will continue but I can confidently state this dog will he ruled safe to keep.I am real grateful to the good people at High point K9. I recomend them whole heartedly for obedience training and for the extreme case like mine . Cheers !

Honestly I’d give 0 stars if I could. I get it, puppy classes are a lot and can be difficult. But one of the main points of puppy class is to allow the puppies to socialize, well, not with this woman. She basically told me my little 4 month old was stupid and needed a lot of work ALL BECAUSE HE WANTED TO SOCIALIZE! I use to train animals professionally, so I know not every animal is the same. I had trained my little guy a few things beforehand just to get him started, and she had told me that all my training was wrong and stupid. There’s no right or wrong way to train, every animal learns differently just as any human does. What really sent me over the edge was her telling me my 4 MONTH OLD LITTLE PUPPY- needed a prong collar. She put it on him and my heart still breaks when I think of how he reacted to it. Prong collars can be great for animals that need them if they’re used properly, but I will say my puppy did not need it. I did not return after this and I never will, my advice? Find someone else with a little more compassion and less abuse.

I have to say, there was a steep learning curve for me. Ive never been to a formal dog training facility before this and in the first class I really felt like I could do nothing correctly! I wasnt feeling very good about the experience. I have always trained my own dogs and they turned out great.Once I got the hang of it, and really started seeing the progress, I fell in love. My pup and I have reenlisted several times and it is now a regular weekly activity we do together and we both enjoy it! The dog looks forward to working and we do it about 10 minutes each day plus our weekly class.

Firstly, Id like to say how excited we were to start classes here, seeing the great reviews and even a few recommendations from people in the area. Unfortunately, our experience here was far from great. In the first two classes I noticed the instructor was blunt with the owners of the dogs, I brushed it off as her teaching style. In my opinion she crossed the line of being disrespectful a few times towards other owners, but we continued on, hoping it would pan out how we wanted. On just my third class, she kept commenting about everything I was doing wrong and while I feel she couldve been more respectful, I pushed through it trying to do my best. My dog kept looking at other dogs while we werent doing anything and I was listening to the instructor. Well she didnt like that and corrected me to correct him, and while I tried I couldnt do it to her standards. So she takes over, grabbing my leash. She tried to get my puppy to obey her, and he wasnt listening. She then lifts him by his prong collar off his front legs over and over until hes crying in pain. She lets him go and he finally looks at her not the other dogs, and she said see you need to do this. Good boy she tries to give him a treat and he refuses to take it. She tells me I have my hands full and walks away. I try to talk to my puppy and give him treats, but he couldnt even look at me. He was crying and refusing to do anything. I can understand the method to an extent, but I feel that turned abusive very quickly because she was flustered he didnt listen when she tried to show me how its done. I walked out of the class and didnt go back. Overall, Im not comfortable with how she treated my puppy, as I dont feel you need to hurt them to teach them.
