Choosing Middletown Veterinary Hospital was a great choice to take my dog. The staff was friendly and caring and the veterinarians were knowledgeable and seemed to truly care for my dog. I’m so glad I found them.

My first impression of the staff here was wonderful, especially the Vet. She took a lot of time to answer my questions about my two new kittens, and they called the next day as promised to give me results of some tests. I will definitely be coming back since I felt really comfortable and the facility is very clean and well organized. Keep up the good work! One suggestion is to get some more help with answering phones since one time I was on hold for a long time (7 minutes). Thanks for all your good work you’re doing.

Finding a veterinarian to care for your animal with as much love and care you have for your pet can be difficult and expensive!! I’ve tried the other local animal hospitals and veterinary clinics in the area which was frustrating. Sadly, pet health care was taking a toll on my bank account and not resolving the issues I was facing with my dear cat Chelsea until I found Middletown Veterinary Hospital (MVH)First, it’s a more affordable experience than any of the other animal clinics I brought Chelsea to. Second, the staff has been kind and thorough with their services. After taking Chelsea to three different veterinarians without resolving my cat’s issue I was over the moon to experience a warm and gentle veterinarian addressing and resolving the underlying issue. 🥹🙏🏾💛 Did I mention that it was within my budget too! Hallelujah!I appreciate MVH so much so that, despite my moving to NJ, the service MVH offers is far superior to anything local to me. In turn, it’s worth it to me to drive back to Middletown for my fur baby’s care. Call me crazy but when you find a great veterinarian at an affordable vet hospital you stick with it!

We were happy that our cat, “CC,” aka Cecilia, was able to receive a full workup, IV fluids, and an antibiotic shot after the rough day she had post-plant-eating. We were extremely pleased that CC was able to be seen so quickly— the very next day— and that we were called back to schedule an appointment, right away. I called and left a message the night before, around 6:30/7:00pm, when the business was closed, and I received a call back approximately 13 hours later. Really impressive. Everyone is always very kind and helpful. With CC’s former provider, we never felt like transparency/communication was a priority. Things are different, here! We always leave feeling that we know everything we need to know— what happened, what to expect after this, etc. We are glad to know that CC is doing okay and we do not have to worry about her. CC was very upset with us for bringing her to vet, but it seems she has now forgiven us. All is well.These guys quickly became our regular vet(s), for all of our pets (four cats), and we have recommended them to other, nearby family members, who now have an upcoming appointment for their cat.(Pictured are CC and Sampson, who have both been patients here)

I absolutely love the veterinarians and the vet techs here. They make me and my dogs feel loved and welcomed. They take good care of both of my dogs. They explain things I don’t understand clearly and are very helpful even over the phone. I wouldn’t trade this vet’s office for the world.

I brought my best friend, Sheba, here before she passed and the vets here were extremely professional and caring. They let me know her condition and seemed more knowledgeable than the disgusting vets in nyc who overdosed my dog. They made sure to check in on Sheba and we’re very sympathetic about her suffering and passing. I thank you all so much for trying to help Sheba as best as you all could. There are no words to express enough gratitude to Dr. Berlinrut and all her assistants. Its not my first time but I never seen before how easily my wild cat might be cared with love and compassion. Ive got deep and smart answers to all my questions, and happily we found a solution without unnecessary surgery. I couldnt imagine what might happen to my pet if i agree with the treatment plan proposed in another vet clinic. Here I found reliable friends with warm soul, dedicated and kind professionals.

I called when my older dog was having issues breathing. They had told me that they didn’t have any available appointments that day and that they did not take emergency appointments until 6pm and I called around 11am. So I’m guessing that animal care and compassion really isn’t what they do well.

The service is great! I’m always impressed with how fast they work. My cat is surprisingly calm when she gets examined. I highly recommend this vet.

Our family is so thankful for 18 years of compassionate and thorough care for our Siberian cat at Middletown Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Berlinrut and her entire staff were helpful and knowledgeable during each appointment. At the end of our cats life, Dr. Tintle and the Veterinary Technicians were incredibly caring and kind during a very emotional time for our family.

I recently brought my cat in for her rabies vaccine. The staff was kind enough to prepare both that shot and her upper respiratory vaccine at the same time. The doctor and assistant were very polite to me, and very gentle with my cat, and able to get her to behave completely. The doctor also examined her and told me some things I could do to bring her weight under control. Im very happy with the service we received, and I plan on bringing my cat back for all of her needs.

Staff here is always friendly, helpful and sensitive to pet owners feelings as they might be going through a hard time with their animals. Wish more human doctors have as much sensitivity as they do here!

Dr. Rueller ignored me when I went in to get some serious help with my canine. Waited and emailed prior to my visit. She simply had the wonderful VT assist me. Never did she even for one minute come out and speak with me.I have been a client of Middletown Veterinary Hospital for over 50 years...no more. I suppose when a facility, as great as this one was, is bought and sold to a corporate entity, the professional standards are left on the corporate bar tabs.

I have 2 older Shih Tzus(Hannah and Hazel) who have serious anxiety issues when it comes to the vet. Dr B, Dr Ruller and every single member of staff are so kind, gentle and loving. They really do love what they do and it shows in their attitudes and actions. They take such amazing care of my girls and treat them as if they are their own. We wont go anywhere else. The care and treatment is beyond the best we have ever experienced. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

Im have not been disappointed with this office... I admit that when I first went there it was because its 3 minutes from my house a very convenient location because I am constantly working and it was convenient to drive a couple of minutes from my house. I have had nothing but good experiences here with all of the pets Ive had throughout the years I have been going there with my pets for almost 15 years. When I am out and about I sometimes hear about the great experiences other people have had with this office and I dont mind recommending them to anybody who asks me.

Very disappointed in this clinic. My cat,BEST FRIEND, was very sick and hadnt eaten in two days throwing up yellow then pink bile. I wasnt too concerned until i saw the pink vomit which to me indicated blood. I called them and asked for help and told them my situation which was i had no money until Wednesday, which was only four days away. I have been going there for 5+ years and had spent well over a few thousand for all my fury friends. They informed me, too bad, we dont do billing. No help what-so-ever ! I am very disgusted with The Middletown Veterinary Hospital ! I will never step foot in there again, EVER. My new Vet is Dr Johnson. I cannot explain the feeling of happiness and relief i had when we worked out a plan to help my best friend. This is a Veterinary Hospital that truly cares. Thank You Dr Johnson and id also like to thank the staff. You guys are the best !!!!

This veterinary hospital is THE BEST! Anyone who says differently is wrong! The staff, vet techs, manager and doctors are top notch. We found this office several years ago after some terrible experiences with previous vets in the area. Everyone is always so kind to our kitties and our family. We always feel at home there and safe with any visit or proceedure that needs to be done. They truly care about animals and there well being. I really cant say enough positive things about this place.We have recently moved and have had to find another vet and Middletown Vet has still been helpful in getting our kitties records and information over to our new doctor. Our family and kitties miss you Middletown Vet, you have a special place in our hearts.

This vet hospital is excellent with taking care of out if town pets. Their prices are very reasonable . They take very good care of your pet and explained everything doing on. My dog loves to go there. Highly recommend.

I wouldn’t take my pet here if it was the last vet on earth. They nearly killed my dog. Luckily we got him to Guardian in time for them to save him.

DO NOT COME HERE !!!!!!!!! I had an emergency with my puppy where the personal up front was the most cruel , not empathetic vet workers I’ve ever met. They put me in a waiting room and said they would be right back, after an hour of waiting with my puppy crying in pain I get the response “oh yeah ….it’s going to be a three hour wait “ meanwhile I called ahead of time and they said there would be a vet to see my dog at the late hour. She had no intention of coming back to let me know or even check on my dehydrated dog . Instead of being apologetic , the lady at the front desk was giving extreme attitude and mocking my discomfort. It doesn’t seem she wants to be at work or have anything to do with her job description.The experience was nothing less of traumatizing. On top of that the place was very dirty - I saw blood splatters in one of the vet rooms and dust/ dirt everywhere. I don’t think they uphold cleaning standards. DO NOT COME HERE !!!!!!!! Thankfully my dog is feeling better but had it been a real emergency last night I don’t think she would have made it out alive. Trying to help others avoid my situation and make the right choice for your pet.

I have been going there for about 16 years and will not go anywhere else. Dr. B is loving, caring and treats our dog and cat as if they were her own. The staff and techs are extremely amazing and Im forever grateful for all that they do!!!

Ive been taken my animals here for 15 years now. The doctors, staff and facility are the best around. Ive had dealings with other vet offices in the area and would never go back, but Middletown Vet had always been there for me and my pets! Everyone from the doctors, the office manager, techs and receptionist have the greatest care and love for their job and it shows!

I trust Middletown Vet with my babies. Dr. B always gives it to me straight. Ive been using them since 2005 and have never considered going elsewhere. They always treat my dogs like they are thier own and go the extra mile to make them happy.

A stray kitten found us in the dead of winter and adopted us. We took her to Middletown Vet and they were very helpful and did a great job fixing her up.She came starved and with a huge wound. We have only had this cat for 48 hours but already she is the sweetest and most trusting little thing. I hope she heals up with their help.

We adopted a puppy for Christmas, the next day puppy got sick. They got is an appointment asap. Come to find out she had two forms of parasites and parvo (fatal virus) they have our sweet little pup the best care! They saved her, after days in and out of their care and 24hr care. Shes home. Im super paranoid now and I have taken her back randomly to get checked they took me right in, the love and care for these animals is clear. Dr. Tindale is great!

I had an emergency with my 4yr old German Shepherd. I called to tell them the symptoms and I was on my way as an emergency. They said if you have an emergency you have to make an appt and then tells me they have no appts. My question is if your site says to include emergencies how would I know. If I have an emergency your telling me I have to be a psychic and schedule an emergency appt weeks in advance. This is no way of conducting business for animals.

My parents are pet sitting my dog while Im out of town and I ended up stuck in Chicago for longer than planned. I needed my dogs prescription filled and called to have my dogs prescription faxed over from my vet (this is not an outrageous request as Ive never had a problem with ANY other vet in any other area if I need an rx filled while Im traveling). They said they couldnt do it without any explanation as to why. This place clearly doesnt care about animals unless maybe youre their regular paying customer.

Got a good vibe here. Although you are not allowed inside due to covid, they quite organized. Make a phone call and someone come put to get your pet. Staff & docs are very pleasant and willing to answer all questions.

Terrible place. Stay away. They say they are a 24 hour emergency place with a hotline. It’s a lie. Every vet in the area and the police refer you to them in emergencies but they don’t help. They are rude and won’t even bother to refer you when they are closed. They’re Guardian “hotline” is equally rude and unhelpful and hangs up. I’d never take a pet here.

My son brought his dog to be spayed, the dog died after he was given Anesthesia. The surgery was never preformed.. Why did this beloved member of our family die? My son is devastated.. They said his heart stopped. Why? , Why did his heart stop..

Had a miserable expirence here. Brought in an old golden, knew he had cancer, his nose was bleeding and I wanted to put him down if they couldnt reasonably stop the bleeding. They wanted to keep him over night and it was just a nose bleed, everything would be fine long story short they had to put him down and he died alone, without me. It was heartbreaking and bullsh*t. Ive never been back.

I brought my dog in here for GI trouble. Over all experience was okay but one of the staff didn’t make me feel good with her weird vibe and attitude multiple times.

Theyre just in it for the money

Doctor is fine but service is not emergency and the wait time was ridiculous 6 hours and waited 2 hours before my pet was even taken in.

Most of the people are nice but giving one star because of pushy rude doctor being persistent on extra expenses my dog did not need and also went out of his way to disrespect me asking me if I had money to even cover for the visit never going back

Bring both my dog and cat there. Was told by another vet there was nothing they could do for my cat....brought him to Middletown Veterinary and they saved his life! Need I say more?!?!

I’ve been going here since my cats were kittens and they’re in the double digits now.

I wish I could leave zero stars but unfortunately they only allow a minimum of one.I’ve been coming to this vet for a few years now for two of my dogs and have not had an issue with them until my most recent visit when I went in because one of my dogs was sick.The nurse took down my statement and then went to the back to relay it to the doctor where I then heard them laughing and making fun of me and the way I take care of my dog. They obviously weren’t aware their walls are extremely thin and that I could hear them, and it made me extremely uncomfortable. It was very unprofessional of them to act the way they did and it only got worse from there.After talking to the nurse again and going over my options, I agreed to a $330 service and then was later very upset to find out that the service I agreed to was only a stepping stone to the one I was under the impression I was actually receiving… but I have to spent another $700+ to get that. I would never have initially agreed to the service at all if I knew that it was a multi step process to get to the conclusion I was looking for - and in my opinion it is the nurses and doctors fault for being deceiving and not being upfront with me about exactly what I was agreeing to and the possibility of what would come after this. I felt very mislead and conned into spending money I didn’t want to spend.I then turned down the offer to spend the remaining $700 to get the conclusion I was assuming I was getting with my initial $330 payment and then complained on my way out and asked for the manager to call me about my experience.I got home and a couple of hours later the doctor herself called me to question why I was complaining about her. She was very rude about it and only got nicer when I insisted I wanted to talk to a manager about my entire visit.The next day I got in touch with the manager and relayed my entire experience to her and she was not helpful whatsoever. She didn’t care that I was upset with the way her staff treated me and talked about me behind my back, and she didn’t care that I was mislead by her doctors and staff when it was their job to fully explain to me what I was agreeing to. She offered no apology or way to make it right in the future so that I would be comfortable coming back.It seems like the only thing this practice cares about is money… and after being a loyal client for years, I never want to step foot in that place again and would advise you find a different vet that will fully explain to you everything you are agreeing to BEFORE you agree to it, a vet that cares more about their clients being happy and wanting to come back vs squeezing as much money out of you as they possibly can, and ones that are more professional and will not laugh, judge and make fun of their patients with only a thin door between them.

Dr. Ruller and her staff were PHENOMENAL. From the moment we walked in we were seen right away. They were efficient, professional, and so understanding. They listened and really tried to get to know her at that visit. They werent worried about her breed, but were more concerned about how she was feeling and wanted to make her feel better. They took Magenta to the back and began getting her ready for the doc.When Dr. Ruller came in, she took the time to explain eveything in detail and with specifics. We left from her office feeling confident and calm. She knew how much Magenta means to us so she took her time. Everyone in that office is A+. We most definitely will be back. I HIGHLY recommend this veterinary hospital and I am so glad I took her.

One of the BEST Veterinary facilities Ive been to in a few years since my last vet retired. They are thorough, caring, and just all together WONDERFUL! They are true veterinarians not pretentious, foo foo spa like places that are just rip off ridiculous. BOSS, and I are very blessed to have found them, and we look forward to a long relationship with them.

Due to Covid, couldnt enter with my dog, but the car-side service was prompt, friendly, and comprehensive. I felt that my dog was appreciated and well cared for. She went in frightened and came out happy! 😄 And all this without an appointment. I called with an emergency and they managed to fit me in. Positive Lyme diagnosis and we came away with all the medication we needed. Price was average for a vet. Highly recommend this place.
