Pelham Bay Dog Run

It’s a great spot to bring your fur baby. Enough room for your fur baby to run free without going far. Two separate play areas and a water fountain available. There are some rocks to climb on and jump over. There are some shady areas so your fur baby can relax and not get overwhelmed by the heat.

Its decent size. Bring toys, there is only 2 community park fetch items. Bring water. The hose for water doesnt work till labor day. Humans need to learn how to pick up after themselves.

I usually love this dog run but lately there’s been a lot of reactive dogs and owners who still haven’t figure out how to control them. This isn’t a bad thing but it doesn’t make it easy when you are trying to introduce your dog to other dogs or introduce them to leash free environments. Usually everyone is super friend so it’s a good time all around.Sadly my dog and I were attached a few months ago by dogs that were left in the run so it’s been a bit rough to have my little guy trust going there. We’re going slow but I soon hope he grows to love the dog run again.

Great dog run and not too crowded. Pretty clean and well kept. Theres a dog run for small dogs and one for big dogs. My only (small) complaint is theres no water available for the small dogs.

We bring our Cane Corso there quite regularly. What weve experienced is that in the early part if the day there seems to be an influx of smaller breeds to play. After about 2 its larger breeds. This is when we bring Ntsika. He has made many friends. Its a large park in itself.. places to have picnics and/or just read a book. Very clean and responsible pet owners overall. Easy to access off the 6 train as well.

Great! Lots of other dogs and people to socialize with in a beautiful setting. The water pump wont be active until labor day. Bring your own trays toys and water, because there isnt much for your dog to do alone.

Great place to bring your dog for some exercise and socialization. Most dog owners are respectful and are making sure their dogs are being friendly and respectful as well. For some reason the pump here has not been working for the past month and a half so make sure you bring water for your pup.

Can get packed during the summer. Two areas, one large that allows for running and a few benches for people to sit, another smaller one for more control and calmer experience.Completely gated with double door entrance. Open all year round.

Nice place but definitely needs updating. There is so much space that could be added to the run itself.

Good amount of space, but the gravel is so rough on my dogs paws. He had so many cuts, that he couldn’t walk without being in pain for more than a week. Never again.

Beautiful picnic and recreational park for ones without challenges to get around. Ideal walkways and areas to push wheelchairs or ride cart if in possession of such or if told beforehand.

Nice. Needs water fountain and sprinklers for the dogs. Especially in the summer. Everyone there is great!! Greg is friendly and helps with any doggie drama. Lol..

It was nice for first time with my 18 month old pup. Just feel they need paper towels and gloves for waste removal

It is a nice place to take your dog and let it run. Most of the other dogs are friendly. They have a small dog yard and a big dog yard. Great place to take your dog.

Recommend rules/ guidelines be posted. Should have more than one dog run.

Very nice but can be maintained a lil better. The floor can also be upgraded but overall my pup loves it

They to parks one for large dogs the other for small dogs,sometimes it can be overwhelming because of other dogs figuring whos omega but owners are quik to deesculate

Great place for dogs.. welcome day and night, excellent lighting. Very peaceful environment.

I love that it is gated and it has two sidesn The other dog owners were friendly and kept their dogs in check.

Its very clean, has 2 parts for different size pets.

People are amazing there and friendly jus wish it was sand instead my dog ripped her paw at this dog park

Good open space, like that theres some grass. No unsocial dogs, which was great. The regulars there are cool and knowledgeable.

Very well maintained, however, be informed on what dogs enter and how your own dog plays/interacts with other dogs before bringing your own.

Lots of friendly/curious dogs here, havent run into any that were aggressive. Fun day, polite people
