My grooming appoint for my 2 dogs was excellect. Rachel was on time.Rachel understands how i want my 2 (Bentley 10 years old & Leo groomed) they are calm when i pick them up, so i can tell it was a nice spa treatment. Highly recommend the Trogg Neck petco. I usually shop while i wait, its not all day.

I am writing to express my profound dissatisfaction with a recent grooming service provided to my dog, Cookie, at your facility. I had specific expectations based on the professional standards I associate with Petco.Cookie, a beautiful ShihPoo with a gorgeous coat, was brought in for a trim. I had a clear conversation with the groomer about my preferences and concerns. The groomer mentioned Cookie had some matting on her belly and tail, and I requested that it was imperative to preserve as much of her hair as possible. This request stemmed from a previous grooming session at your establishment where she was left completely bald, a look that did not suit her nor meet my expectations.Regrettably, my instructions and concerns were not heeded. Cookie was returned to me completely shaved, resembling a plucked chicken rather than a well-groomed Sheepoo. This drastic and unwarranted approach not only disregarded my specific requests but also demonstrated a lack of skill and finesse in handling a situation that required more nuanced grooming techniques.A professional groomer should possess the expertise to manage matting and style a dogs coat without resorting to complete shaving, especially in areas unaffected by matting. This experience leads me to question the training and proficiency of your grooming staff. It is disheartening to see a lack of versatility in their grooming techniques, which, in this case, significantly impacted Cookies appearance and my satisfaction as a customer.Given these circumstances, I strongly suggest a review and enhancement of your groomers training programs. If Petco continues to advertise professional grooming services, it is imperative that the team is equipped to handle various grooming challenges beyond mere shaving.I expect a response addressing this issue and would appreciate a remedy that reflects the seriousness of my concern. While I understand that Cookies hair will eventually grow back, the disappointment caused by this experience cannot be overlooked.Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to a constructive resolution.

Rachel is incompetent of dealing with dogs especially senior dogs. My dog has been going to this location for years with Jasmin. Never an issue with my sweet little Yorkie. When I picked up my dog Rachel said yes he’s sweet but I don’t think we are the best groomer for him and that I should take him elsewhere. She obviously lacks bed side manner and experience. I warned her about his cataract and hearing loss, no health issues and no behaviors. What nerve she has! I was livid. Is this how she would treat her child or mother or father when they get old. Steer clear. BEWARE!! I’ll never take my sweet boy there again!

This location is convenient for me as it was my first time booking a grooming service. Everything was good, seem well until I noticed that my dog had several strands of hair under her chin so I suggest the staffs to double check upon completion other than that everyone was friendly. I will try this service again in the near future jus to give them another chance

Ill never bring my Fur-baby to PETCO for grooming. My pup had an appointment for 12p and I was informed he would be ready within 3 hours. At 3:28p I called in because I hadnt received a call or any update regarding my pup. The first call the phone rang out. After I called back 15mins later, I was informed he would be ready in another hour and 30mins. This was unacceptable considering I was already informed he would be ready WITHIN 3 HOURS and no one thought to at least call me to share this delay with me. On top of the horrible customer service, my pup was there from 12-5:30p, they shaved my pup down terribly low. Its so bad he looks like a cat!! When I picked up the invoice to still have to pay for this horrible service I was over charged and had to go back for a corrected invoice of $111. HORRIBLE

This occurred on March 20, 2024. I have brought Kane to this Petco to get groomed since February 2023 when he was 5 months old. Normally it takes 3-4hrs for Kane to get groomed. The groomer that previously groomed him (Amanda) was skilled and patient. Today I went to drop Kane off and as usual Kane was his jumpy self (Hes is now 1yr 7mths). He would not sit down because as usual he was anxious about being at the groomer. A Petco Dog trainer (Mariana) approached and asked about training classes for Kane and mentioned that she observed he wouldnt sit when told. I thought this was very kind and observant of the dog trainer and agreed to speak with her about training in the future. Soon after, Kane was called in for his appt. I was asked his age and I mentioned to the groomer (Tayler) that he is jumpy, like literally all over the place. I was told, no worries we will take care of him. I also mentioned he does not like to have his legs and paws clipped. He doesnt bite but he will be difficult. No worries, I was told. I drop Kane off at 1:26pm. I get a text at 3:34 pm that Kanes grooming is completed. When I return to the store Im told Kane can not come back until he is professionally trained. So Im like why all of a sudden, he had never had a problem. The groomer states while cutting his paws he was nipping at her. So I ask to speak to the manager because Im like this is nonsense. Ive been to this same location for over 1 year, literally 7 times and not with the same groomer. Also, the groomer that we had today is the same groomer we had in October and we received no complaints from the groomer previously. The manager comes out and says no I cant bring Kane back without being trained and says I may have to take him to a private groomer because they can muzzle him there and give him calming aids. Then all of a sudden the groomer says Kane bit her one time while she was grooming him and the general manager asked her if she wanted to stop the grooming session but she said she would continue. I understand that no one wants to get nipped at but you groomed him in less than 2 hours so is it that he is an aggressive shihpoo or is it that you didnt want to take the time and be patient with him. I received a text prior to my appointment telling me I could bring him early and I could not because of work. I feel like a warning and a different groomer couldve been suggested but to straight up tell someone that they can no longer bring there baby to get a haircut at the place he has been going to since 5months old is not right. Say the staff is inexperienced and could not handle him because he is busy and maybe refer us to someone with more experience. Then they mention that many people are being told the same thing because the previous groomers were not mentioning the behavior of the dogs to the owners which is why they (the previous groomers Amanda and Justin) are no longer at that location. A different manager other than the manager today, called me a week ago to squeeze Kane in for a grooming session and she knows him very well.so I dont understand. So basically all these dog owners have bad, nipping, biting dogs all of a sudden, who need training and you are refusing to groom. I think this is very unlikely. Then I asked, so I have to pay $350 to get my dog trained so I can get my dog groomed here in the future? And I was told yes. So now Im like is this a sales gimmick. Are we telling ppl their dogs need training so we can get them to pay for training with Petco so they can then get groomed. I paid for 7 grooming and the next one was supposed to be free. I am a vital care member and I live 10 mins away from this location. Now I have to drive 30 mins to another location to have my dog groomed, 30 mins back home and 30 mins to go pick him back up when hes finished getting groomed to drive 30 mins back with my dog. I am very disappointed in Petco and the new grooming staff at this Throggs Neck petco location. I had to get home and really let what I was told by this staff set in, which made me very upset.

From online to oick up was perfect. Even at pick up the employee brought my item out and loaded into my car for me. Mind it was a 40 gallon tank weighing 53lbs... incredible customer service

The Young Lady Tayler greeted us in front of the store and guided us inside and let us know what to expect..It was my wife and I1st time getting our dog a haircut..She made us feel very comfortable...She did an awesome job with our dog Luna... Definitely going back.. Thanks Tayler

The groomer who assisted me was negative for the service about my 2 pets since I arrived , he said you don’t take walk in for cut the hair , however there’s no way for me to make an appointment online either to get a booking over the phone because you never answer or return voicemail . He said after doing a Poor service when I picked up my dogs that I had spent a couple of thousand with PETCO that they were very nervous while cutting the nails that I shouldn’t bring it to you that I should take them somewhere else where they can give them medications to cut their nails . Really ? I been to other Petco like Gun Hill and the groomer never said that about my Magguie . I will never take my pets to you that made me feel pretty bad finding my pets are not welcome in your place when I made my sacrifice to use your brand . You should find people who are really compassionate and caring about pets not people doing a job just for money . My pets are my world how dare your employee to talk about them like they were there looking charity I Pay for them

I was told a price and after the service was completed was billed for alot more. The groomers were not knowledgeable about how to put on my dogs harness. Other companies put complementary bows or handkerchief scarfs to pamper my dog and they didnt. When picking up my girl the groomer didnt come out to speak to on what was done and how things went. They gave me the bill and asked me to pay and add a tip before even getting to see my dog and inspect what was done, and how she turned out. These little things make a big difference. Customer service is lacking.

Bella looked absolutely beautiful and the young lady that took care of her realized a strong oder coming from her ear and I immediately took her to the vet and Bella has an ear infection she k now shes still taking medicine and for that I am grateful thanks
