The Left Paw Puppies

I was hesitant to buy a dog. I really wanted to go to a rescue but we went to several places without luck ( mostly because of my son Allergies) we love Minnie ( was Alia) she is so healthy and smart and happy. Very grateful to find her at left paw. She loves looking out her giant window on her giant chair. I take 100 pictures a day ! All the bad things you hear about pet stores I did not find in our very good experience.

I bought a dog from them about a year ago for $1000, best purchase I’ve ever made. A tiny little Aussie-doodle, I named her Princess and she just turned a year old last month. She helped me through some very hard times and I’m sure others from this store are the same. Very friendly staff, always so happy to see her when I take her for nail cutting (which is free btw!). Highly recommended.

I bought a Bichon Poo at The Left Paw last year and I couldnt be happier with her! The store is amazing, they have a great selection of puppies and they take very good care of them! The staff is super nice and helpful and let you take your time getting to know the pups and answer all of your questions. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a new fur baby

I bought my chocolate Labrador from the left paw a month ago. He has been the the vet three times since then and had no medical problems at all! I noticed in the reviews I read that people were complaining because their dogs contracted an illness from another dog before coming home with them. It’s impossible to know that every puppy is 100% healthy when someone comes into the store and buys them. There are pups there that just got there that day! Who knows who has what? No matter where the dogs come from or where they are when you go to meet them, they SHOULD be around other dogs and ARE around other dogs. It’s extremely important for dogs to socialize at this age and be near other dogs. Kennel couch and other minor health problems are the risk of this necessity. Don’t Blame the store though.The girls that were working the night I bought my handsome little boy pupper were very polite and waited for me even after their closing time (as I was running late). When I arrived, I didn’t feel rushed. I was happy with every aspect of the service I received. I’m so happy I decided to buy this dog. He’s such a good pup. I hope this helps someone and I hope if you do decide to get a puppy, that it ends up being the right one for you.

Me and my Wife got a Doodle from them. Very clean and nice place people. Grooming and boarding prices very good. I would recommend this place highly to anyone that is looking for a great dog. Thank you Left Paw.

The Left Paw is an amazing place to buy a new puppy! My mom and I went there looking for a new addition to our family for my daughter’s birthday and we instantly fell in love with our new puppy! The staff was amazing they all went above and beyond to make everything so easy and fun we got to sit and play with our puppy the whole time while they took care of everything they even set us up with everything we needed to take our new puppy home and they took the time to explain every single thing even though we came after work so it was late and we were there after closing hours they stayed with smiles to explain it all! Sasha was such an amazing person she is so kind and helpful she even went in the back and put a going home bow on him and cleaned him up right before we left! If your looking to buy a puppy and not wait for hours or your not sure where to go This is the place you want to be! They have the most amazing staff they are very knowledgeable they have amazing puppies they are so quick and efficient I highly recommend The Left Paw to everybody! I usually never write reviews either but I was so happy with my new puppy and the whole experience that they deserve 10 stars!!! They are also very safe during this pandemic and they make sure everyone stays 6feet apart and there aren’t to many people in the store and that everyone uses hand sanitizer! That made me feel so much better and a lot safer everything about this place especially the staff and my experience and my handsome new puppy was hands down amazing!

10/10 would recommendUpon my first impression and from being to other puppy stores, the cages are clean and spacious, the puppies are alert, pudgy and happy. I purchased a Pomsky from there in 2019 and she is PERFECT. She was very healthy (still is) and I havent had any issues upon bringing her home. Pomskies are hard to come by and the left paw seems to have the most! Its worth the trip!! These people have integrity and take care of their dogs

I have lived on Long Island my whole life and this is one of the best puppy stores i have been to. The staff is super knowledgeable about all their puppies and helped pick the best puppy suitable for my situation. I got my toy poodle (Dolce) from here and she is just the best. I come back monthly with Dolce to visit and get the lifetime free nail clippings!

Loved getting our puppy from here! Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable and the experience was great. They really stand by their dogs and I’d recommend to anyone looking to consider coming to The Left Paw.

I recently purchased a Brussels griffon, Shih tzu mix = Adorable. Healthy, intelligent, loving, a perfect addition to my small family.

This dog was the best . His name is Oliver on line. He is a sweet heart. Not aggressive. Seemed to be good with a 2 year old. He is teething but was not too aggressive biting. Did not bark at all and we were there 1/2 hour.

The 2 young ladies that greeted me were very nice and I could tell that they love the pups :) I loved the first dog they showed me and didnt look at any others. However, she was a bit too expensive (for me) but I am waiting to see if she gets discounted. All the puppies in the store looked healthy and happy. They were active and playing. The store and crates were very clean.

Being somewhat skeptical of puppy stores, I at first was anxious going from place to place searching for my forever pup. After a brief, friendly conversation over the phone, I was able to set up an available appointment to see the sweet and loving mini golden doodle that I have today. During the appointment, I did not feel hassled or rushed to make a decision. Needing a night to think it over, they were gracious enough to put a hold on her so no other people were able to see her. Once I had made up my mind and committed, for the health of all their dogs and her, they had to keep her for vet visits and checkups. I was able to visit her at least once a day, almost always more, but there was no issue or problem with setting up an appointment. Overall, I would say that the people working there, and the owner herself are very kind and respectable. For anyone potentially looking to get a puppy for themselves, it is a lot of responsibility but know that youll get a healthy and adorable forever dog though The Left Paw!

After losing our beloved Bichon Coconut back in February our home felt empty. For almost 17 years we enjoyed all the love she gave us. We grieved our loss and after several months past my wife was on a mission to find another love to complement our home. We finally found our new edition to our family, a Teddy Bear dog, Bichon and Shih Tzu mix at the Left Paw in New Hyde Park. Every time we visited the Left Paw the staff was very polite, understanding, and knowledgeable of all the dogs. Since they understood that it had to be a good match, they were very patient with us.We had visited several pet stores and found the Left Paw seemed to have not only our best interest but also was very sincere we found the right dog and we did. They are also reasonably priced. On Saturday July 3rd we took home our new member of our family Baci She is very playful and affectionate. We enjoy her very much.When we picked up Baci they were very though explaining everything to us and we can call if there was anything we needed. The price included several items including the Microchip, follow up vet visit for additional shots, one month of pet insurance and several other items.Many thanks to the Staff of the Left Paw for accommodating us. They also seem to be very concerned on what type of home their dogs go home to, true animal lovers. Highly recommend this pet store.

Started bringing my dog here for daycare services as the location is super convenient and I can’t say enough great things about the staff and facility. They take such good care of my pup and he always comes home tired. He LOVES everyone there and is always excited when we go back. The report cards are such a cute touch and I love reading them.

We just had the best experience here! Vanessa, I believe her name was, was so helpful and kind. The whole staff was so helpful and the atmosphere itself was incredible! It was clean and the dogs seem very healthy. They provide the lineage of the puppies and answer any questions. Would definitely recommend buying from here!

Bought my cockapoo here 2 weeks ago , the staff help so much on picking the right puppy for me ! They knew tons of knowledge of the puppies and their pricing were reasonable just cause it comes with so many things included. I am very happy with my new puppy and i will definitely recommend my friends and family here ! The store smells great and it’s very different than any other puppy store i went too . Everyone at Left Paw is friendly, helpful, supportive & has a genuine love for dogs! We purchased our Cavapooh puppy Levi from Left Paw 3 weeks ago and he was extremely well cared for, well behaved and well loved! My family had a great experience here. This place is a dream come true for any puppy seekers out there that lack expertise when it comes to dogs. The staff was not only helpful and kind, but KNOWLEDGEABLE! The dogs were full of energy. Overall, my experience was filled with constant smiles from both humans, and from dogs. I took home a chocolate labrador, Charlie. Hes been living with me for three weeks now, and we couldnt be closer! I definitely chose the right place to find my new pup.

We recently got a new Puppy from The Left Paw, a beautiful Black Lab Girl, Lucy. Everyone was so nice, service was great, and we love our new little girl!The Puppy is in excellent physical condition, and has a great personality. The owner Sarah and her staff were extremely helpful and take good care of their dogs. Would recommend this place any time.

Parker (originally Zoey) had been with us for almost a year now and from the start The left Paw stood out from the other LI pet stores. We searched for 6 months!The staff and owner were both available to assist and answer our questions.Parker is the favorite neighborhood dog and we’ve had no health issues.If you have any questions please feel free to reach out! We got our puppy Goose (originally Cooper) here over a month ago, and we are so in love with him. He is so wonderful, even with our two year old son. As a first time dog owner, we were nervous, but Goose was perfectly healthy and such a happy boy. Some of the staff members are more knowledgeable than others. I really appreciated Alexis who went over all of the paper work and care instructions. She was beyond helpful and extremely friendly. I had so many questions, but she was able to answer all of them. She actually called me two weeks after we had purchased Goose to check up on him and us, which I also appreciated. The puppies at the store all look happy and healthy, which is the most important thing.6/16/22 Update: Brought Goose here for his for day camp session and he had a blast. I love the report card feature since I can read about and see pictures of his day. Of course Goose, being the social butterfly that he is, charmed everyone! Gabe is so friendly and you can tell he really cares about the dogs there. We also bring him here for his monthly bath and nail trimming and he comes out so soft and smelling amazing!

I recently bought a beautiful Maltese puppy from The Left Paw, and this pet shop was definitely worth the 2 hour drive from upstate NY. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, and made my puppy purchasing experience great. John, as well as his employees, all have a relationship with each puppy and truly care about finding them the best homes possible. I have recommended this puppy pet shop to numerous family members and friends, and I would definitely purchase a puppy from here again in the future.

This is by far the best puppy store Ive ever been to. The dogs are taken great care of by caring and loving staff, and everyone who works there is so knowledgeable and experienced! The dogs are so happy there and its so clean. Definitely recommend anyone going here whether to buy a puppy or to just take a look.

The workers are very friendly and it’s a lovely store, I bought my puppy here she turned out to be expensive of course, but they had this deal where you bring your puppy to the vet they tell you to go to and the shots/sickness within a certain amount of time is covered, which is great. However, I agree with the below comments, my puppy had kennel cough within 3 days of bringing her home & she also had the giardia parasite. I love my puppy wouldn’t give her back for anything, but there definitely should be more caution with the types of sicknesses these puppies can get from one another because I went through a lot with my puppy the first 2 months. And as I can see I’m not the only one who received a sick puppy from this store.

I have always adopted from shelters, but after many of months of searching ending with disappointment, we adopted our dogs from The Left Paw. The store is always immaculate, cages clean, healthy pups and you can tell the staff really cares about their puppies and the homes they go too. On occassion, we visit with our CoCo and he still remembers Sarah and is so happy to see her.

It is recommended to first call and make an appointment before going in, for COVID safety. It is a small shop and not too many puppies for display. You can look on their website to see what they have available and it is true to what they have in store. They really know their puppies and their puppies look happy and well taken care of. Their prices are reasonable (all puppies now are between 3-5k wherever you go). Before you can bring home a puppy, they do vet checks and one last grooming.

LOVE this place. I have to admit, I was iffy about shopping at puppy stores, as I’ve seen how other places treat the dogs they sell. However, I came here because I was looking for a dog, and knew right off the bat that they treat their puppies with love and care. They separate the dogs by size and temperament so that each puppy feels comfortable. The staff was VERY knowledgeable on all dog breeds, and throughly explained how they care for the puppies. I ended up purchasing an adorable chihuahua, my best friend Pablo!! They gave me great insight on how to care for him in his younger weeks, and gave me a list of veterinary recommendations. A week after we brought Pablo home, the owner called us to check in and see how he was doing. We return to the store every so often to purchase food and wee wee pads-we love the staff and how we’re greeted when we enter the store! My daughter & I had brought a beautiful male chihuahua on Sept 19th. Hes the most beautiful puppy you could ever see. Many people wouldnt look at him because of his coat color, which is Blue Merle. His original name was Bleu, but we renamed him, Taco, which fits him better. He went from being very timid to a wonderful spunky, playful puppy. We love him so much and he even loves my boyfriend, whose pictured holding him. Glad I went here. The staffs so wonderful and very helpful.

My daughter and I bought mini dashchund puppies fromleft paw. They were perfect! We got all the proper paperwork and the staff was very helpful. The dogs were healthy and seem properly taken care of. I would buy another dog from there!

Found my pup, Archie, here just before the city shut down for the quarantine. Everything was safe and sanitized and they took time to figure out the best pup for me based on what I wanted in a dog. I owned a Jack Russell for 16 years and was nervous a new dog wouldn’t live up to my previous one. Archie and I have been together a month and he has been a great puppy. Thanks for all the help in finding me a new best friend!

I originally saw The Left Paw’s Instagram and was very pleased to see how active and up to date their social media was. That’s usually a good sign. I travelled all the way from the Bronx to visit this shop The next day just to see what dogs they had. The staff there was so friendly and answered all my questions. Then they introduced me to a white/brown shih Tzu that I immediately fell in love with!!! Once I laid my eyes on that dog I knew he was for me. The staff let me play with him and it was a done deal, there was no way I was gonna walk out of the store without him. He’s now in our lovely home going on 4 months and he’s been the family treasure. He’s so friendly, so sweet and so adorable.Lastly, I brought him for a check up immediately after I bought him to make sure everything was okay health wise and he was perfectly healthy! The dogs at the left paw are well taken cared of. I’ll be getting another puppy soon and will probably come back to this store to get one. Definitely recommend this store!

Ive had bought my dog from the left paw back on November 29th of 2017 and Ive never been more happier with my baby girl Rosie, and I would definitely recommend people here to get a puppy from them and people like Vanessa and John were very polite and helpful. One year later and Im still happy with my dog.

What a great hidden gem!! This little puppy store has such a great selection of puppies (healthy!!!) and everything I needed to make my new baby comfortable at home.The staff was friendly, knew what they were talking about and helped me decide on my new baby JACK the Cocker Spaniel. The were very honest about the possitive as well as the negative aspects of the breed. I really appreciate them taking the time to help me decide.I recomend them to anyone looking for a puppy. They were great!!

If you visit this store you will see just how STERILE the entire place is. I have been overjoyed and blessed by my baby I purchased from them, previously Marley, and now Bentley! He has the most hysterical personality and was clearly very loved and comfortable prior to me taking him home. Thank you Sarah for your kindness and upmost care and love for all of your puppies because its extremely hard to come by.

Got my lovely fur baby at the left paw a few months ago; the the employees are very accommodating and very friendly thank you so much The left paw!!

The store is relatively clean and better maintained than some other pet stores but theres a cavalier puppy here that looks so sad and sick. Workers also said puppies werent from PA but instead the Midwest even though its a known fact that the Midwest is puppy mill central. Ended up leaving the store not feeling comfortable buying a puppy that might have health issues for such a high price (the dogs we inquired about were ranging in price from $3800 to $5000!!) from a store and will probably go the shelter route, but YMMV.

So, we got our first puppy at this place. He was so cute so we had to take him home. Right when we got home we realized that he had a bad cough which delayed all of his shots. Finally, when his cough went away and we completed all the shots we went back to The Left Paw because the owner had asked to see the dog again. When we asked if our dog could come in the response was not expected. In a mean tone they told us “IF HE HAS HAD ALL HIS SHOTS!” We are never buying a dog again and will always adopt.

The staff there are really nice, you can tell they care about all the dogs and owners that come in. The grooming services are excellent!

I purchased my chiweenie, Bullet, in July 2020 from the Left Paw. It was the best decision I couldve made. The staff was courteous, friendly and very helpful. Bullet has flourished with me and am grateful they found me my perfect lil pup.

One of the best and cleanest pet shops Ive ever been too! I got my puppy there and my family and I love him so much! We had such a positive experience at the store and would recommend anyone we know to go and purchase a puppy!

I adopted a puppy yorkie male,this was my first pet. I kept him for 3 day it then i realised it was hard to take care of him and I felt I cant do this. I also have 2 little kids so I decided to give him back. I paid them $ 2100 for this puppy and when I returned it they only gave me $1000 back. After returning him I realised that my kids were so much attached to him and they were sad so i went back to get him the next day. I told them i need the puppy back but they said they sold it to someone but the puppy was still there. They are very greedy people. Dont buy from this place.

The puppies are not taken out so they arent potty trained, and I requested lineage information on a puppy and was told responsive breeder, bad rap on line as a puppy mill but inspected frequently and really does care just has more massive model. They promised to email breeder to get info, no problem, he responds quickly and will get back soon... Then never heard from them, called and was told they were probably waiting on him to respond still... I think that likely he is more of a puppy mill, and I think that the way thr dogs go unwalked and untrained is really not right.

I cant say enough wonderful things about this pet shop. The dogs are very well cared for. They get visited by the Vet for a well care checkup frequently. The staff is friendly and warm. You can tell that this is not just a job to them. They genuinely love these animals and tenderly take care of these dogs. They have a wide variety of small to medium dogs and all the dogs are friendly because they are so nutured by the staff. They also have a groomer next door and a doggie day care center. And the best thing is that since they are all connected next door to each other, if sthere is ever a problem that the dog is home sick, one of the staff goes next door to comfort the dog since they know them so well. An all-in-one spectacular pet shop. I purchase my Wheaten Terrier, Bella last week and she is precious friendly and healthy.

Went to see puppy, the poor thing had hair loss on its head and severe kennel cough, dog area had lots of feces, very unkempt and sick dogs. Will be making a complaint with proper authorities. They dont even deserve 1 star

I bought a very expensive puppy from here and they told me the puppy is hypoallergenic it turns out it wasnt when I call them back they refused to take the puppy back.

John and his associate are awesome. They listen to you, not pushy and really care. They really care and enjoy what they do and it shows

Told back in 30 minutes then when I returned I was asked to call and make and appointment dont tell me to come back just to tell me to call horrible customer service and attitude close or schedule your meeting or have meetings at some other time dont waste peoples time

You said you will be there that It wouldn’t be a problem … you never mentioned anything about feeding time or about needing an appointment to purchase a dog or a late/reschedule policy … on your site it says “ at this time the left paw is open only by appointment… “ to which I would interpret as : to visit the store you are only accepting appointment ( even though when I was there , customers walked in and were looking around the other puppies available , I suppose no appointment either ) if you have your policies I respect them but just communicate them better

I cant say enough great things about this place. Sarah is the sweetest and most compassionate business owner I ever met. She truly goes above and beyond for all her puppies and makes sure they are all healthy and happy so they can find the perfect forever home. She takes timeto source every breeder to make sure each puppy she receives come from a properly managed place and not a puppy mill. Her staff takes time to help educate you on everything you need to know about caring for your puppy before taking them home. There are plenty of helpful things you can buy from their store to help acclimate the new puppy to their new home. Looking for a new puppy can be a very stressful process, but you can rest assure that you have come to the right place.SincerelyLev & Danielle

This pet store is amazing! I’ve always been skeptical about shopping at puppy stores but after coming here it was a great experience they were extremely helpful especially Vanessa she was so nice and I bought a beautiful puppy that I’ve had for a week now and I couldn’t be happier that I purchased my puppy from here. I would definitely come here again when I’m ready to get another puppy!

Last August 1st, we got our Bichon Frise as a retirement present for my husband and a pet for my son. Whenever I called, Sarah, Shana, and Alison were so welcoming and kind in answering all our questions about the process of purchasing our beloved puppy. On the other hand, Vanessa, the manager thoroughly walked us through from feeding to keeping our Stella healthy.Today, we visited them and as an added bonus, our new puppy got a “free” nail clipping. We played with this dachshund chihuahua mix named Pudgy, and we loved him. The staff were really nice and they gave us all the information we needed.They are doing a great job with the puppies.This is the greatest pet store ever to be built.

We had such an amazing experience at the left.paw. The staff, especially Bryanna, communicated with us for two weeks while we waited for the arrival of our mini goldendoodle. They were so wonderful and truly cared about us and our new little family member. They spoke to the breeder for us while.we waited and communicated openly and honestly all about our puppy. Then, our arrival!!!! Our Buddy couldnt be more perfect for our family. Bryanna educated us on everything we needed to do and what to expect from.our new puppy. They sent us with the supplies we needed, as well as all of the info for the vet etc (which we couldnt be happier with). Our boy is a happy healthy pup and couldnt imagine having gone anywhere or gone through anyone else for this entire experience. Thank you for everything!
