000000 STAR!! DONT LEAVE YOUR DOGS HERE!!!To start, they say that the first day is free in all their ads and it turns out that it costs $25, its ridiculous!! And I left my dog on the first day without knowing about the payment and the only good thing is that it has live cameras but there is a lot of closed space that the camera doesnt capture.I was able to see how a dog attacked my dog and cornered him to the side where the camera did not capture it while the incompetent woman who was in charge of taking care of them was doing other things than monitoring the dogs and did not notice until she heard the commotion of the same dogs. And I didnt know anything anymore, my dog was no longer there and 15 minutes later they called me to tell me the problem that had occurred and that my dog was injured in his ear and that they had treated him.I immediately went to pick it up and only heard Im sorry many times, and that they wouldnt charge me the stupid $25 for the inconvenience. I was in shock. They dont say that they charge when you go to the first appointment... they have super bad service! Horrible! And the woman in charge was just standing there waiting for a dog to pee and clean up and she didnt notice what was going on around her. Your apologies are of no help to me if you do not take care of the puppies and return them injured, especially on the FIRST VISIT, which gives a bad impression!!((((UPDATE!! your incompetence on my puppy first day visit, cost me $540 at the vet and the suffering of my poor puppy will never go back there! And they call me to offer me free days at the place where they didnt take care of my puppy really?? 😒... PAYING that bill would be the BEST THING THEY COULD DO.))))
I wanted to reply to the Karla post that the day care is responsible for her dog getting injured. First of all accidents happen and unfortunate dogs are unpredictable. My dog was hurt one day and the staff contacted me to let me know I took him to the vet and he received treatment. You complained about the vet bills and about Dogtopia and $25, well if you had listened they always say that there is a $25 fee. You also left your dog without asking questions about where your dog will be because they allow you to observe on the camera before you leave the dog for the day. If you saw something you did not like you could have taken your dog. This is a great place I have been there over a year and my dog loves it. The dogs all are calm and even tempered unlike dog parks where you dont know what kinds of dogs are there. Dogtopia is a controlled environment and safe. It was unfortunate what happened but you just wanted to give a negative review as it seems that you are always using this platform for your negative views. Also the manager tried to help and offer you free days, if they did not care they would not have done anything. Again this is your baby but you are responsible for not taking him to the vet immediately after picking him up and you did not ask questions at your meet and greet. What part did your dog play in all this did your dog do something to the other dog because he was the new dog and all the dogs had been there. What part did you play you know your dog and that he may not like being with other dogs. Dogtopia is a great place and they do alot with the dogs. Again Im sorry for your dog but in the future you need to take better care of your baby.Update to Karla: I feel sorry for you and I really feel sorry for your dog because you continue to bash the place he probably liked to be away from you. Are you sure it was not your dog that started the problem because like owner like pup. He got aggressive with another pup and the staff took care of him and called you. It was you that was lazy and had no regard for you baby. You did not take him to the vet till the next day. My dog recently got hurt and I took my baby to the vet immediately after calling and the vet knew it was during play he got hurt. Dogtopia was amazing and like all the pups there they treat them as if they were their own. You just want to be bitter like all your post. Get a life. The vet bill would have been less if you had taken him immediately. You need to stay home because you only post negative comments.
I lived in NJ and took my dog to the Old Bridge location during that time. 5 stars- not one issue or concern! I moved and took my 2 dogs here and just about every time they went there was an issue. I spoke to the staff and the manager on multiple occasions in hopes that things would get better. To my disappointment, nothing has changed. I’ve pulled my dogs from this daycare. The new manager has had more than enough time to get things under control. I’m disgusted on how the staff/management on this location is ruining the reputation of this franchise.
BEYOND impressed with Allen & his team. We regularly have to board our 2 dogs...sometimes last minute- and it is always STRESS FREE. It is automated- but not to the point where you cant talk to a human without hours on the phone. I abhor that. Allen ( manager) is so committed , and a lot more organized than me, as is the entire crew- really affable and totally the captain of that ship and running it well. I hope his regional managers notice- truly- this kid is busting his butt and with heart & drive- rare these days. Lets celebrate it. Ive used almost 10 boarding places over the years- NEVER had this level of ease....I kind of joke that its a mirage...theyre that good. lol. My dogs come home happy. Couldnt speak more highly. Seriously- I dont do reviews often. ;)
I recently started taking my poodle, Benji, to Dogtopia, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the experience. The staff at Dogtopia is absolutely wonderful. They are attentive, caring, and clearly love what they do. Every time I pick Benji up after work, he is happily exhausted from a day full of play and interaction with other dogs. It’s fantastic to see him so well-socialized and content. The facility is clean, safe, and well-maintained, and I feel confident leaving Benji in their capable hands. I highly recommend Dogtopia to anyone looking for a top-notch daycare for their furry friend.
I have brought my dog 3 times now and each time we go he is SO happy and can’t wait (he tugs on the leash it’s really cute).. the first time I went was for the meet and greet and they allowed Joey to stay the rest of the day for no charge. They were so kind to offer us another free day that I decided to bring Joey back again the same week! This will definitely be our spot if Joey ever needs day care and I look forward to all the future events ❤️🐶🙏🏻
The staff at garden city park are amazing. They welcome me with a smile and warmth. I had been thinking about going into this place for some time now. A bunch of people have been telling me how great it is there at the dog park. I met the manager at the street fair in Jericho. We had a nice conversation and I was told I could have a free day for my dog, say less! I decided to come in and check the place out the staff gave me a tour of the place and explained the process to let my dog come and play. I need to get some borda vaccine for him before he can come, something about groups of dogs. But I will definitely be back!
Love the daycare and so does Apollo he jumps out of the car upon arrival. However I am not as pleased as I was with the previous management it was much better. I feel that they dont have the quality of staff as they did before. Our pets understand and should be spoken to not just crated everytime they do wrong and they repeat it because the staff dont tell them what they are doing wrong. I really miss Collen the previous manager he made it lively and wanted new things and wanted the pet parents involved. Now they just want you to drop off and go. I have been watching my pet even more on camera.
Was considering bringing all my dogs here especially come winter because of a friend’s referral. However as of recently and hearing her recent experience and how they almost lost their dog due to negligence on their behalf i will no longer consider this company
Dogtopia is great! Everyone is so friendly and sweet. My basset hound loves going there! I love the cameras so you can see what they are up to. Wonderful facility!
If I could give ZERO stars I would. My dog came back aggressive and very reactive towards people and other dogs and I blame dogtopia. I think they locked him up the entire time I left him there, and who knows what else happened. They refuse to give me the camera footage and refused to send me the link to the live feed. When I asked to speak to someone to give me an update on my dog they were scrambling, stuttering and aggressive to me. Not to mention, I paid for a bath and groom and my dog was soaking wet when I picked him up. these people are incredibly irresponsible and only prioritize shoving as many dogs as possible into a small room or kennels. Dont come here, your dog will come out damaged!
We had the same experience another pet owner experienced. The first day of boarding our dog was in view of the camera. His tail was tucked and he looked little nervous. One morning we received a call stating another dog bit our dog. Afterwards, we didnt see him in the webcam and when we did it was just a short minute. I wasnt going to post anything until I saw another customer went through the same thing we did regarding the bite and unable to see our dog in the camera. This is very concerning. I talked to the manager which was new. I told him on your contract you ask us if our dogs are aggressive and thats the reason you have the meet n greet. Our dog wouldnt hurt a fly. The manager said after he viewed the webcam,, the employees handled the situation appropriately. Which was separating the dogs a few hours then placing them in the same room with each other after the biting incident. I was very unhappy how the situation was handled. You entrust your pet which is part of your family to others and come back with a pet that is traumatized. In addition, we pay expecting our pets to receive care, concern and peace in regards to pet owners that Dogtopia is taking good care of our pets. This is not the case. I have seen too many reviews with similar experiences. Very unhappy.
I brought my dogs here for grooming with Ingrid and it was their first time at dogtopia. I have a husky who hates bathing and a 9 month old cavachon who has not allowed anyone to properly groom her. Having a husky who is very anxious and loud as well as a puppy who does not like being groomed make it difficult to find a good groomer. However, Ingrid is a sweetheart. She is patient with my dogs and did a very good job working with my dogs. She was able to do a complete service on my puppy and did amazing in achieving exactly what we wanted for her haircut. She also does a great job at desheding for husky. Honestly, I wouldn’t take my dogs to anyone else. Overall, I had a great experience at dogtopia, staff here gave them both lots of love, and highly recommend Ingrid for grooming. She’s the best !
Colin is what made this place great. He truly cared about the dogs and the owners and he would do his best to accommodate and support everyone.
Totally inept front desk people. Went there in person to make a grooming apt. Kid at front desk said shed call me when she speaks to groomer.NEVER happened. Called day later to try and get appointment. Guy at front desk kept putting me on hold & then said hed check with groomer and get back to me. NEVER did! Totally unacceptable business practice. Maybe their boarding is good (dont know cause I dont board my dog) but they need to put responsible people at the front desk, if they want their business to succeed! Their prices are high and I refuse to pay for incompetence.Got another groomer to do the job! Never again will I solicit this business..
This is the second time this is happened. We boarded the dog for 4 days and after one day the dog was nowhere to be seen on camera for 3 whole days. Only after a text, she was brought out to camera view.We picked her up and she could hardly move, was crying and depressed. We found 2 large bite marks on her back. We took her to the vet the next day and there were 2 gushes all very infected full of puss, as seen in the X-ray. She can barely walk. Really sad to see that.Called the manager today to report this incident, and the manager takes no responsibility since we signed a consent (so they can do anything to the dog, right?) Will not reimburse $560 in vet bills of those two largely similar incidents. We will report this to the County Department of Health and will initiate a lawsuit. Poor and negligent supervision, too many dogs in a small place (we counted up to 20 dogs together at one point, one person in the room). I recommend NOT to trust your dog to these people. They are supposed to love dogs, not hurt them. Sad.Update:Someone from Dogtopia s central office contacted and offered to reimburse our medical costs if we sign an NDA (Gag,} not to tell anyone about this issue and also to REMOVE THE REVIEW. (What?) We did not mind the NDA but the review is staying!
Did the Meet and Greet and daycare last week for my pup. I like the concept and facility Dogtopia has to offer but was upset that when I watched my pup on the stream he was left with 2 other small dogs in the “Wee Area” with no trainer for over 3 hours while the other dog areas all had trainers playing and interacting with the pups. I decided to pick up my pup early because I didn’t like that him and the 2 other small dogs were scratching the door and barking to get the trainers attention for over 3 hours. I do want to give them a try because I mentioned it to the front desk and they said they will investigate and apologized for the incident. Hopefully after next visit I can rerate.
I would not be comfortable leaving my dog here. There are too many hidden spaces on the cameras and after reading reviews I would not trust them here. When booking on the phone for a meet and greet for potential boarding I was NOT told about a fee.No other place that I know of charges this fee.Their website for Meet and Greet does not state there is a fee, you only see it if your specifically looking for pricing which I did not. They were deceptive about this in my opinion and I would not do business with them. Who charges $25 for a 10 minute meet and greet to potential customers?!? Ridiculous!
The staff at Dogtopia of Garden City Park, NY. Are very Professional, knowledgeable, and Courteous. We look forward to our little guy spending more time there!
From the assessment to the actual doggie daycare I have been so satisfied. My dog gets attention from all who are working there as well as the other dogs. The options for lunch/meals and I love being able to see her play on the webcam. My primary goal was to find a place for boarding where she wasnt in a cage/crate all day except for walks but bringing her here 1-2x/week while I work makes us both happy. The feedback I get is incredible and everyone is so personable.
Dogtopia is the best doggy daycare. The staff is professional and so friendly. I love that the dogs are always supervised, they have so much fun playing with their fur friends, and get a much needed nap in the middle of the day. They also have fun activities planned each week. I especially love when Tate brings home her art . The facility is so clean and the dogs come out smelling clean. Great daycare for dogs.
Our dog Chloe loves the staff and her doggy friends at Dogtopia! She is always excited to go in and I like that we can check in on her via the cameras all day. The staff is super friendly and very responsive if we need anything. The facilities are clean and well kept. We feel lucky to have Dogtopia nearby! Thank you!
Absolutely love that I have access to the cameras so I am able to how his day is going. Love that they constantly have activities I have never seen any other daycare so these fun activities. Truly so love that they know and understand my dog chase, and he’s familiar and trusts the staff. I have had the experience where I’ve used another day care prior and Chase never wanted to go with the staff and it broke my heart. But the dogtopia staff there is definitely something special about them they treat Chase as if he is their own which puts my mind at ease and that’s priceless. Thank you to the staff for all they do and how they take the time to learn and bond and care for our fur babies.
Not going back to this location. I made an appointment for spa (bathing) and nail clippings. I went to pick my dog up and they said the price for bathing. I asked if they clipped the nails and the girl at the front desk said let me check. She came back saying they did and charged me more.My dog does not smell like he was bathed. And I looked at his nails and it looks like they slightly trimmed some. Sharpened some and completely didn’t cut one.
My dog absolutely loves going to daycare! He knows the mornings he goes and excitedly waits in the lobby to be taken to the playroom. The staff is also amazing and will go the extra mile to make sure your pup is safe and comfortable!
I went to this location one day inquiring about the meet and greet process and was given a tour of the facility. It is very clean and the associates are very friendly and answered my questions. I mentioned that I would only need to bring my dog in for a week since he lives out of state and was told that was fine. Then I came back for his meet and greet, everything was great until I asked if I could purchase a 5 day bundle. I was then told that I had to purchase a minimum of 2 weeks. This was never told to me before and I havent been able to find that information anywhere on the website. They were kind enough to waive the evaluation fee, but again, I wasnt even aware there was a fee and that is something I couldnt find on the website either. I dont discourage anyone from taking their dog there, I would have loved to use their service, but I think they could do with more transparency and perhaps make sure all of the associates are properly trained so there is no conflicting information.
I just left here with my dog, and Im so upset I can barely speak. This was our 4th week of daycare - he goes just one day. The previous sessions seemed great and he came home exhausted.I dropped him off this morning around 10 and said Id be picking him up at 7, and requested a bath as I had before. I logged on to the webcam a little later and saw him playing happily. All good.Nap time is between 12 and 2 and they turn the cameras off. A little after 2 I wanted to check on him again. The cameras were still off. No biggie.Around 2.30 I checked again and the camera was on but I couldnt see my dog. I waited and watched as the one staff member who was in the room with 15 - 20 dogs worked really hard. Eventually I decided to call and see what was happening. At first it was suggested that he might just be out of camera shot and they would ask the employee to bring him into shot so I could see him. Then I was placed on hold and then told he had been taken out of the room for his bath. I reminded them that I wouldnt be picking him up until 7 and asked why he had been taken out so early. They tried to make the excuse that they hadnt written down the pick up time. They do know what phones are for, right? Call me and ask! Bear in mind, hes been in a crate since 12 and wouldnt be playing with the other dogs after having his bath. That means in a 9 hour span, hed only have been playing with the other dogs for roughly 2 hours. When I got there I was told there was only one person to give 15 baths, and she couldnt possibly do them all at 5.00. She tried to tell me he hadnt been taken to the spa until 2.45. Not according to their own webcam evidence. If they dont have enough staff, perhaps they shouldnt take in so many dogs. I said we would not be back, and despite the fault lying with Dogtopia, I was informed that I would still be charged for the next 2 weeks per the enrollment agreement.Very poor business practice.
Great staff! Very knowledgeable and friendly. It’s a very clean and safe environment! I feel very comfortable leaving my dog with dogtopia. I also love that I can log into the app and see my dog on the webcam!
The WORST decision I ever mad was to take my dog here gori grooming. NEVER go here or have INGRID groom your dog. I showed them exactly what I wanted and explained everything in detail and she SHAVED my dog entire hair off. I clearly told them 2 inches and she said he was matted so they will charge extra $25 to DE-MAT, instead these people here were LAZY and shaved my dogs hair. They ruined our Thanksgiving Day weekend. I spoke to the manager, who had the nastiest attitude ever and admitted to not following rules and said all she can do is say sorrry. DO NOT GO HERE, THESE PEOPLE ARE UNPROFESSIONAL, RUDE, HAVE NO EXPERIENCE AND WILL RUIN YOUR PET. Worst manager and groomer at this place.
I love bringing my dog there! The managers Prima and Sam are always so sweet and help ease any stress! Fran at the front desk is always so excited to see my pup! Genesis, Dean, Jackie, and Ryan are always playing with my pup and it makes me feel like he is apart of their family! We love going there!
We are so happy this place opened! Not only does our pup love going there, hes also exhausted by the time he gets home! The staff are all very personable and accommodating and we love being able to check in on our little guy through the camera. They do a wonderful job and we couldnt be happier.
Everyone we interacted with was extremely pleasant and professional! And most importantly seem to really care about the dogs! We watch them interact with our pup and they were so patient with her. Facility was very clean! They seemed to be mopping constantly. Very pleased so far!
Had a fantastic experience at the GCP Dogtopia. Every staff member was friendly and knowledgeable. The facility was clean. I liked the fact that vaccine records were required and that there are different options for daycare. My dog had a great time playing and we will definitely be going back
Very disappointed. Took my dog for a meet and greet. He was brought out 15 minutes later extremely stressed. Apparently the whole point of the meet and greet is to get him to go into a crate. I have done meet and greets at other facilities and was always asked to leave the dog for several hours to allow him to adjust before being crated to ensure the animal is not stressedThey are a new facility and the staff clearly lacks training on how to handle dogs. If you are taking your dog here make sure you ask about the meet and greet and exactly what it entails
Dogtopia staff are so great they truly care about the dogs and the space. It’s super clean and all of the activities are engaging, brain stimulating, and down right fun for all the dogs! We’re so excited to be part of this community!
This place is close to home and opens early. My pup really likes going to daycare here and everyone is very nice.
Dogtopia is amazing. They have become Cocos extended family. They do anything to make him feel comfortable. And Coco has come such a long way socially with other dogs.
Extremely friendly and well kept facility. Staff are truly amazing and caring. Like the ability to view how our dog is doing during the day on the webcam.Staff attentive and responsive to questions and really get to know your dog and personality.Highly recommended.
My hyper Boston Terrier had the time of her life! Came for the meet and greet, which in of itself took about 20 mins was great. She loved her time there so much so she didn’t want to leave so she stayed the day! Came back good and worn out! Lol she’s definitely coming back!
The dog coaches are wonderful! They are very attentive, interact with the dogs and watch carefully for any potential conflicts. Our dog is very anxious and the coaches know when to interact and when to let her be.
This is the first daycare I’ve brought my dog to where he actually enjoys himself! Especially the extra puppy love from the canine coaches. We’re never leaving Dogtopia!
Excellent place for your petClean safe environmentEmployees are greatI highly recommend dogtopia
Dogtopia never fails to make my pup happy! He absolutely LOVES the coaches there. They are so friendly and the pick-up/drop-off process is so seamless.
My dog loves going. He comes home nice and tired
Love Dogtopia, there’s no other daycare we would bring our pup! As soon as we enter the parking lot she gets so excited. The staff are amazing and seem to love our pup as much as we do. Love the events and photos they send home. Today the celebrated Zoeys birthday. Highly recommended.
I felt comfortable leaving Grace.
The staff is truly fabulous. Facility very clean. My pup runs in each time we go. We love it there!
Best new dog care around! Clean, professional and well trained staff. Must come and see the facility for yourself! Dr Dyan Muller
Went to this location with my boy Codi, they were incredibly kind and my dog always comes back smelling fresh and feeling good :)
The Dogtopia team is so caring and nice, they take such good care of my pup which is so reassuring for a first time dog owner.
All team members are so wonderful and knowledgeable. Our dog loves going to Dogtopia!!
Dogtopia in Garden City have toooo many dogs 18-20,impossible to control what the dogs are doing. My dog came injured with two bites and a horrible infection in the back. SHE BARELY COULD WALK.
I had the worst experience there my dog came for a meet and greet after the meet and greet they asked if my dog wanted to stay I said yes sounded like a good idea I had work all day not even 3 hrs I get a phone cal saying I need to pick up my dog she got into a fight with a dog n she MIGHT need to go to vet I get there n she has a huge gash in the left side by her ribs she def needed to go to the vet not maybe they refused to tell me exactly what happened everyone who worked there kept saying the same exact thing to a tee “we need to check the footage” so not 1 person working there was able to tell me what happened they just told me to pick her up n that was the end of it they did not cover the vet charges nor did they even reach out to see how my dog was doing it was very un professional how this was handled I get it there animals n this might happen but the way they handled it was awful it’s inexcusable to tell the owner you don’t know what happened and not even give a follow up call this is def an higher up issue they don’t seem to have enough workers there was one person in the room with 15-20 dogs…we called this morning to see if there was any news because we have not heard from them they still didn’t watch the video and was put on hold it was like everyone who worked there was trained to say the same thing no matter what..the manager gets on the phone and starts off the convo asking how my dog is doing it’s a little late for that this happened at 4pm the day before and only asking at 1030am the next day how my dog is doing only because I called and the reason you give me for not following up is that “its only 1030am” this happened 4pm the day before…I get it there dogs this may happen especially in an In closed area with one person watching that’s my fault for giving them my trust with my dog but the way they handled it was just so awful
Exceptionally clean facility, friendly and knowledgeable employees, and wide range of hours/reasonably priced plans.
Very friendly. Clean and organized. My pet was happy.
This place is awesome! Very clean, staff attentive, and 🐶can b seen via cam. ❤️It!!!!
My pup cant wait to get out of the car to go to daycare.Incredible staff
