First groom that Ive been disappointed in. I have a Golden Doodle that has had very good cuts previously. This time it was terrible, uneven and choppy. Nails were also cut too short and jagged. Does not look like it was done by a professional at all.

I brought my 10 month old miniature golden doodle to Scallywags for his first official groom. I specifically told the groomer NOT TOO SHORT. Just clean up any knots (which were mainly near his belly) clean up his face and back end. When I picked him up he was completely shaved! They did the exact opposite of what I requested. I will not be returning.

Do not go here! Owner does not care about your pets! I brought my dog in for an 11:00am appointment where she was then kenneled for 3 hours, was not started with her groom until after 2:00pm, and was told she would take another HOUR to finish. I would have appreciated and much rather preferred the decency of a phone call to either cancel or postpone my appointment rather than have my nervous dog in a cage for 3 hours. Please do better, be mindful, and communicate with your clients if running behind or if any of your employees call out.I would like to add that the owner of this establishment, is not very warm or personable at all. Along with having some common courtesy for your clients, she should learn a thing or two about professionalism including not slamming doors like a teenager after a customer voices their frustrations.I requested a concession for the major inconvenience her poor management caused, and was told I could only have one if I return as a customer. Im sorry but I would never feel comfortable to leave my dog under your care again, and neither should anyone else.

I go because its convenient but I dont feel like I or my dogs are special to them. My groomer in Massachusetts made us feel special. She greeted us, posted pictures of them, addressed me by name, and got to know me. I feel like just a number (rush us in, rush us out). And, I know my pups are tough to groom so maybe its hard to do an even cut...I often have to even some things out. And the price is getting up there.

Great place, my Cavalier king charles spaniel loves going here. They do a great job grooming her. We go every 3mths or so.

The groomers at Scallywags have always done an amazing job with my Goldendoodle, Leo. They have been grooming him since he was a puppy and he is three years old now. They always call me in advance if they find mats that they cant get out and need to shave him more than I originally wanted. After being a doodle owner for 3 years, I now understand the importance of getting them groomed regularly and keep their hair on the shorter side, especially if they have a tight curl. My dog LOVES the water and mud, so keeping his coat short is very important! Thank you to all the awesome staff at Dvalleags for keeping my boy happy!

I took my puppy to get her first full groom today. Everyone at Scally Wags was extremely nice and so good to my dog. My pup went in nervous and came out like she owned the place. They did such a great job with her haircut. She’s SO soft and smells lovely!

I brought my mini Aussie for a groom and asked if she could get a short cut and they said that its not good for her breed to get a short cut, but I insisted that I would like it as short as possible because of the heat. I come to pick her up and they praise her and say she was so good and they go grab her while someone else checked me out (mind you, the person who went to grab her left their dog on the groomers table tethered and unattended). I come back and she literally looks the way I dropped her off except for being trimmed. When I got home, the back of her ears still had small mats. For the amount of money I spent with what I got...not worth it (it was $75+). I just started grooming her myself...

Scallywags should be ranked as the #1 dog salon in the Captial Region. Everyone is so nice. My baby walks out with an adorable bandana when he receives a haircut. For someone to take time, most likely out of their own schedule to make these is an extra step in service. The salon has many custom accessories as well to fit dogs of all sizes.

I wanted to share my recent experience at Scally Wags, which has led me to decide not to return as a customer after being a loyal customer for a couple years. Upon arriving early to pick my dog up, I found my dog standing unsupervised on the grooming stand, tethered by his collar, while the groomer attended to another customer who walked in without an appointment. This lack of supervision is concerning, as it poses a risk to the safety of the animals in your care. I had observed a similar situation in the past, where a dog was left unattended during my visit. I believe it is crucial for the well being of the pets that they are closely supervised at all times especially when the grooming tables are very high, where the dog can accidentally slip off or even jump. Furthermore, we arrived an hour early for our appointment as per their request, due to some cancellations they had. Despite doing them a favor by accommodating the change, when I inquired about the safety of my dog after the incident, I was met with an attitude from the staff. Very disappointed! I didn’t feel as my dog was safe here therefore I wanted to share this experience in hopes that maybe they’ll make a change for the future.

I am very cautious when it come to trusting others with my dogs, from the very first time I brought a dog to Scally wags for grooming I have felt comfortable. The owner goes out of her way to make sure my dogs are well taken care of and handled with care! Kim

I took my husky to get a deshedding bath. They were able to accommodate my schedule and did a great job. He came out looking beautiful, happy, and they were able to trim his nails which he usually hates. They clearly loved him and all animals. They were smiling and laughing at his howls. Now hes so clean and bright that you have to wear sunglasses to look at him when he stands in the sunlight. He doesnt shed nearly as much. If I werent moving in a week Id take him there monthly.

We were out of town and noticed our dogs nails needed trimming. I recieved a call back within minutes and was told I could come in whenever for a walk-in nail trim. My dog is cautious of strangers, however, the staff here were extremely kind and caring. We were out within 15min and also got a few awesome toys from the front boutique area. I highly recommend.

Kelly is great. The ladies go out of their way to make sure that you and your doggie are happy and satisfied with their work. I don’t mind paying a bit more than my last place because of their attention to detail and the pleasant atmosphere.

Trainer Jess is AWESOME!! In control of the classes and has a Great understanding and relationship with our fur babies. She also does an amazing job training the fur babies parents. Wonderful experience! Highly recommend her.

Scallywags does a great job with the animals. They are a stationary business, but it can be incredibly difficult to get them on the phone because they do not answer. Played phone tag with them all day yesterday, finally got one of their callbacks this morning and it must have been a different person because they had no knowledge of 4-5 phone calls I made yesterday. So, in short, I made an appointment in Loudonville at a salon that can take my dog on Monday AND they managed to answer the phone. This business can’t take him for 4 weeks. They are so desirable, they don’t have to answer the phone. Sorry for sarcasm, but it is frustrating. Sorry I wasted my time.

My doodle boy Charlie loves his trips to Scally Wags Dog Salon. Every time we go there, he comes out handsome and happy.

Lori and the girls are phenomenal! My dogs always smell and look fantastic after their groom. Not only do they do a wonderful job, the salon is ALWAYS immaculate & the girls are so friendly. The displays of toys and homemade treats, etc. Is always so organized and makes the salon look so inviting and my dogs LOVE the treats! Loris homemade bandanas are my favorite and she always gives the dogs Holiday gifts, etc..she truly loves what she does and puts so much time into the details. Lori, Emily & Christina put so much heart into their work & it definitely shows. They treat my dogs like their own & we love this salon!!

Amazing!! I have 3 hounds and nail trimming everywhere else weve gone has been an ordeal and I dread it. Scallywags was the complete opposite and Im SO relieved to have found them!! All 3 dogs were quick and easy and every employee was so nice!!

I really like this dog parlor. The staff is friendly and the work is above par. Our dog is a little bit of a pain so to speak, and these guys took him in and were able to handle him when the other places like the pink dog parlor in Clifton Park or any PetSmart refuse to do his haircut scallywags was there. I definitely recommend this parlor. Prices are fair service is great.

Chloe comes home beautiful, smelling awesome and,so,happy. When we get out of the car to drop her off, she excitedly tugs to get to the salon!The owner is so good with Chloe, and always kind and happy. Every dog should be loved so much!

Always accommodating when I drop in without an appointment for a nail cut. They have to roll their eyes when I leave, I would. LOL

This place is by far THE BEST groomer in the area ! Laurie and her team do an excellent job every time with my current dog and dogs I have had in the past. Their prices are very reasonable for both grooming and dogie day care.

The girls were amazing!! My groomer fell ill and couldnt take my dog so took her to small wags and they were not intimidated by her being shes a large breed!!! They were effective,efficient and most of all great to work with thank you scally wags Luna the Corso will be back!!!! Amazing service

Decent Price, Decent Service. The Blond Lady who works there (maybe the owner) had a crappy attitude. Everyone else was nice. I was very polite, i have a well trained dog so there was no need to be crappy towards me when i came to pick him back up. Rubbed me wrong way. will take my pup to groomers in latham. :)

I love them. So great when they took my puppy in. He was done beautifully. The staff is very kind, and sweet. I will definitely recommend and my puppy will be going back, possibly even for the daycare.

This was my first time using this groomer and my dogs nail was cut to short and was bleeding and they failed to tell me what happened. I know things like this happen very easily but just let the customer know instead of acting like all was great. My dogs look great so thats why I rated a 3.

My dog loves daycare here. He comes home relaxed and exhausted. He falls asleep within minutes when leaving in the car. The owner and employees are so nice and accomodating.

Its obvious these folks love animals and while our dogs seem to think theyre going to the vet, they seem to settle down a little once the grooming starts. Thats a relief for everyone ( dogs, groomers and us!).

They style the dog as I requested. Dog does seem to object to going there. People are professional...prices seems high, but, worth the results

It was my first time there they were all very professional kind friendly and gental I brought my 3 month old puppy who is very energetic which was not a problem for them my puppy just turned 1 and have been back a number of times it is the only place we will go 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾

Very pleased with the service I received today. This was the first time I brought my older Dog (Cooper) there and I was very pleased with the service, price and how my dog was treated. Definitely will use them for all my future grooming needs for my Coopy.

I absolutely ADORE them! I’ve brought my Golden Retriever twice and about to schedule for his third visit. Most groomers don’t keep up with cleanliness in their salons, this one is by far the cleanest in the area and doesn’t smell bad either. I’m always so happy with the end results, and constantly get compliments on how well groomed my dog looks. They are the only groomer in the area that I recommend!
